Dr. Raskoff is a fantastic teacher. Speaks to students like equals and is very helpful. If you have to take Soc 101, she is the professor to take. You won't be sorry!

What an incredible teacher! A breath of fresh air in my hellish semester. Very easy, very interesting - there was only one in class test, the midterm. The rest of the grade is based on papers, class activities, and in interesting in class final. Bonus: enough extra credit to move you up a grade.

She is a really nice teacher. Her tests are really easy too. She gives take home tests and her assignments are simple. You have to do a couple group assignments in class. I learned a lot. The material was helpful.

I Love Professor Raskoff!!! When I 1st went to her class I was so scared just because I knew it was a Stat.class. But she made the subject really clear for us. She goes through everything untill her students understand the material. We can always talk to her & ask her as many questions as we want. She is always there for ther students after class.

She is very helpful and clear during her class. Do your homework on time and half of the work is done, the quizzes are exactly the same as what you do in class. As long as you practice, you will do ok in her class. She is very nice and fun :)

I highly recommend this class. Dr. Raskoff is extremely organized, and it is clear that she is very educated. Grades are based on several papers and take-home quizzes. Lots of extra credit opportunities (take them)! Very easy going class. Lots of work, but easy to score As and some of the assignments are fairly interesting.

Took it in Fall 2009.A very helpful and informative professor. You will need the book for the class, but the quizzes and exams are all open notes and book, so it pays off. Study and do all the homework, and you should get an A. I'm kicking myself for not taking it as honors.

Doesn't give that much HW and test are fairly easy but that doesn't mean that you don't learn anything; quite the contrary you learn so a lot, and make sense of statistics.She's always willing to help you clarify things.I encourage serious students who want to work to take her class.

She is the first math teacher since middle school that I've liked! She gives out worksheets that you are able to use on the tests and really engages in the class to help you learn. I'm someone who usually finds math extremely difficult, but I passed her class w/ an A! She made math fun and provides lots of extra credit. She's funny and makes attending class so enjoyable. She gives a reasonable amount of time to complete homework. To do well on the quizzes just practice the questions at the end of each chapter.

I read great reviews about Professor Raskoff so I took her Soc 1 and I'm so happy I did. She is AMAZING and she cares for her students. She uses slides and she explains things very easy for you to understand. She does open book quiz however you still have to do some work (read text, articles & assignments.. You are in college now). Take her class!

This is the 2nd class of Prof Raskoff's that I've taken. Sometimes she takes a while to grade things. Like all online classes, you've got to check in online regularly to participate in the discussions, read the modules,and take the quizzes. It's not a hard class if you just keep up with it. weekly discussions & quizzes, 2 papers, and a final.

Sally Raskoff is the quintessential example of a great professor. She is kind and really listens to your concerns. As long as you follow her directions you will be fine, she is an extremely fair graded. In addition to getting her as a Professor, her lectures are full of valuable hidden treasures that help me cope through the most difficult time.

Best sociology class! She grades based on effort and genuine/heartfelt opinion. 4 quizzes, 2 assignments, and 10 discussions -- not to mention the loads of extra credit. YOU CAN RETAKE THE QUIZZES TO GET 100%s, AND THEY ARE ALREADY SUPER EASY. Don't buy/read the book because it's seriously pointless. Take this class and you won't regret it!

Stats 1 for major. Hybrid class (online + IRL) very demanding in terms of work. 5 open note, open book quizzes. Tons of homework, but all with options of extra credit. Textbook is not really necessary except for multitude of tables in the back. Math heavy, formula heavy, interpretation heavy. But she is very clear and has a great personality

The professor herself is a very nice person and if you need help, she has office hours and is willing to help you. However, do expect to do A LOT of work. The work isn't hard, but there is a lot of it. The quizzes are not bad, just study and you'll pass (no tests). Overall would reccomend her!

Honestly guys take Dr. Raskoff you won't regret it. She's definitely one of the best professors I've ever taken. Professor Raskoff is good professor. Her lectures were good and at times when they were confusing it was very helpful to go to her office hours. She did give a lot of work but if you can keep up you will be fine. You definitely have to earn your grade. You will learn a lot in this class but if you want a easy A this is not the class for you.

Prof. Raskoff is an amazing professor! We had a lot of group work in the class which was very fun. Our quizzes were online and we were able to retake them up to 3 times and the highest possible grade is counted. She offers a lot of extra credit, make use of it. She made Sociology very interesting. I am nowhere close to being a math major, and with that said, I was grateful for the patience, tactic, and humor that Raskoff displayed everyday. She is a true mentor, and is passionate about helping her students. Her modules and online notes are key to a good grade. I took advantage during her office hours, and she always came through for me.

The modules are interesting, and entertaining, so she makes the class fun. Two major papers, not really difficult, but they are time consuming, so don't wait to start. Learn to use the journal article online library.

Doctor Raskoff was amazing. I was terrified of taking this class since math is my ultimate weakness but Doctor Raskoff made the material really easy to understand. She has a lot of useful handouts that help explain the material further, since it is a hybrid class there is work online but nothing too difficult. I would definitely recommend her.

Stats is not easy but Dr. Raskoff does her best to explain the material and is there for you during office hours. To succeed: take good notes, do ALL the homework as it will raise your grade as well as the extra credit. DO make use of the stats lab tutors, they will save you. Although attendance is not mandatory to pass the class my notes made the difference within my tests as long as I reviewed my notes the day before I felt ready, never opened the book so don't waist your money! She is super understandable and dumbs down the material and won't move on until everyone understands. She was such an amazing professor!

I did not think I was going to do as good as I did. I just wanted at least a C to pass but I surprisingly surpassed my expectations. It's not the easiest class (c'mon it's stats) but she makes it understandable and interactive. She's kind and makes sure her students are able to interpret the subject. I'm so happy I took her class. Prof Raskoff is an excellent teacher! Class attendance and note-taking are a mustin class, she breaks down difficult concepts into clear, understandable steps with examples. TAKE HER GENDER COURSE! shes so passionate about sociology and there is no way youd walk out of that class without learning anything. 4 online tests, 3 assignments (which are connected), and 1 oral presentation of your assignments. She offers so much ec that are 3pt each. Thats great because tests and assignments are only worth 10pts!!!

Her goal is to make sure everyone understands what she is talking about. She makes you feel comfortable when it comes to asking questions and if the class is unsure about something she will give lots of examples. Pay attention in class, don't leave hw for last minute and you should do great !

Professor Raskoff Rocks! Statistics is a tough subject but she breaks things down step by step and teaches clearly. This semester stats became my favorite class. Raskoff is Knowledgeable at explaining difficult statistic equations and made it easier to understand. All the test are worth 10 pts. Open book & notes. Professor Raskoff is by far the Best for Stats 1, Sign up for the class you will not regret it. Although she does give 3 Projects, she does let you fix them if you get a poor grade so overall You will Get an A in the class if you stay consistent.

If someone would ask me who is the best professor I would say Sally Raskoff. She is very caring and kind with all of her students. Explains statistics like it's a piece of cake! But she is a little strict with writing assignments so just listen to her instructions carefully and you will get an A.

If you hate math or do not understand it, take this class. She is a great Professor and if you apply yourself you can get an A. She explains things so well and yes there is a lot of homework but if you do it and show up to the zooms or class you will pass.

The homework is done in quiz format but you have as many attempts to get everything right, lots of extra credit opportunities. Her live lectures are very informational and she will explain if you just ask.

Pay attention to her lectures. Whatever math problem she goes over in class make sure you know that formula like the back of your hand, chances are it will the same set up for the exams and the canvas work, so you just have to plug in the new information. Read to understand the work, but only worry about the formulas she puts on the board. Show up

She is a very kind professor. Every week there is a worksheet to do in class, a homework assignment, and maybe a discussion. She has three projects that are very simple throughout the semester that are worth more points. The quizzes are very easy if you focus + take good notes in class. She also posts all of her notes on Canvas if you miss a class.
