Extremelly helpful. Will go out of her way to make you pass. All in all a good math teacher and I'd recommend her to anyone.
The course is easy and shes not a bad teacher but sometimes she doesnt make sence and goes off on tangents. Attendace and h.w is a must. Tests are easy. Reminds me of being in H.S again b/c she moved peoples seats b/c they were talking and you can tell she dislikes you being late but overall is a nice lady.
Sally Mulvey is very intelligent and kind--will always go out of her way to help students if they're having trouble. Despite the fact that half the class is rude, sleeping, or shows up 1 hour late, she really makes the effort to help. She makes the material clear and is patient when it may not be. I would take her again and recommend her.
Professor Mulvey is very helpful and nice, she will go out of her way to set up reviews and extra help sessions she even gives you candy! she is determined to help her students succeed.
She's a great person, but not a great teacher. She had mentioned that she taught high school and you can unfortunatly tell. I had to drop the class before the semester ended b/c i would have failed. Try and avoid taking her
Sally Mulvey is one of the best math teachers at Brookdale. She's never boring. She goes out of her way to help her students. If you ask her she will help you even when it is not her normal office hours. Homework is online so you don't really use the book unless you want to study from it for tests. I'll be taking her class for 145 next semester.
I'm telling you that this is the best professor I have ever had at BCC. She is amazing at what she does. Mulvey trys her hardest to explain everything to you as simple as possible. A very sweet personality too.
Great professor, extremely helpful during and outside class, if you cared then she cared, if you have trouble with math then you should take her for it.
Confusing & can't clarify/say it differently; not overly helpful when students are confused or with makeup work/quizzes. Boring, does not give a break, always has a lesson after tests. Quizzes every week. Doesn't check homework. Pretends to be funny. Overall, I got nothing from her teaching-everything I learned came directly from the textbook.
she is the best teacher to ever walk the erth ever i love her so much xoxoxo
i took her class and she would go over things that have nothing to do with the lesson. I would NOT recommend taking her , her office hours werent that good and when i did get a good time to meet up with her she would walk off and talk to the other professors and i would try to get her attention so i could ask her if im doing this problem right.
Great teacher ! I highly recommend her. Mrs Mulvey is very clear and knows her material very well. Her class is dynamic and she is fun to have as a teacher. She really cares and want you to understand the material very well. She is always ready to help if you need her. I enjoyed her class very much
Great teacher!! I highly recommend her. Mrs Mulvey is very clear, knows her material and is always ready to help. She really cares and really wants you to understand. Math was fun with her!!!
Great teacher!! I would highly recommend her. Mrs Mulvey knows the material very well and is always ready to help. She really cares and wants you to understand. Math was easy and fun with her:))
Sally Mulvey is easily the best teacher ive had at brookdale. I really hated math before taking her. She explains everything good and really cares about her student. I would recommend her over many teachers at brookdale
DIDNT like her at all. I'm a very good student and good in math but her math 151 was extremely difficult, she gives little to no examples, the tests are completely overwhelming and nothing like what she teaches in class. I don't recommend her
Honestly, I dont know why she became a teacher. She's not organized, doesn't explain when anything is due and doesn't check homework. When it's time to meet up with her for help, she blows you off. I suggest you don't take her.
She goes off tangent on many things. She tells us when a quiz is happening a day before it. She will tell us what is on the quiz but wont tell us what to really study.
She is horrible. Does not explain clearly and moves way too fast. Doesn't work out problems nor bother explaining them. Very unhelpful and unclear. You have to seek out extra help or teach yourself. Avoid her by all means
Means well but seriously confusing . Her tests are insanely difficult.
Professor Mulvey is the best math teacher I've ever had. She makes everything clear and is very helpful. She cares that her students do well. I would definately recommend taking her class.
She's a sweetheart whose always willing to help.
Sally Mulvey is an amazing professor!!!!!! She is ver clear in her lecture and I have always struggled with math, but she made everything so clear. The class was a lot of work, but she was really helpful in office hours and I would definately recommend taking her. Great lady.
Very rude. Takes up class time on meaningless stories. Inconsiderate of her students with her rude comments and behavior. Very unclear teaching lectures.
I would not suggest for someone to take this course as a basic, but if you do I would recommend another professor who is more organized and understandable. it's frustrating learning from someone who questions themselves as she has during her own lectures.
She was willing to explain the material She is very helpful if you have specific questions. She sometimes goes fast during lectures but will slow down if you ask. Just do the homework and ask for help if you need it. Go to office hours , at the end of the semester she will give you the xtra points if you need them if you went to office hours.
Sally Mulvey is very clear in explaining the course material. She is so helpful during office hours and I would definately take her again and recommend her.
Nice and funny, tries to keep class interesting. Good teacher always willing to answer questions. Sometimes seems not super confident in what she's teaching, but just pay attention and do the HW. 3 group projects, but those will save your grade. Tests and quizzes are very hard.
Taking this course as a requirement online as a summer course, last class to graduate. Math was never my strong suit and the added stress of the weekly homework quizzes and 4 "projects" Made it even harder. She seems like a tough grader but never got to see graded tests due to taking online. Have to take tests in testing center.
She is not good at explaining the material or giving examples. All over the place and not organized in her lessons. I would not recommend taking her if you haven't already taken Calculus prior.
Mulvey was a great prof. Helpful if you were confused and gave extra credit at the end to help everyone.
Mulvey is a great professor. She may not always be crystal clear, but she really tries her best. If you don't understand her, you can ask her for help during/after class, as well as in her office hours. Here exams are tough, so I would definitely show up to every lecture and do all of the homework to fully prepare. If you do that, you will be fine.
Her exams are pretty tough, and she holds high expectations for every student. She sometimes makes it uncomfortable for you if you do not meet those expectations (calls you out in class). She really tries her best, but she is not clear (at least to me) in her lectures. You can still do well if you apply yourself. I do not recommend.
Really enjoy class with Prof Mulvey. Is a tough class am not going to lie, but if you do the homework, and pay attention in lecture that helps and she is always willing to help. Would take her again.
Sally Mulvey is the best. She is very clear in her lectures, I think she can be a little fast at times. She is very nice and approachable and is happy to help you out if you ask. You have to do the homework, there is no way around the unit circle. Do your work and you will pass! Recommend her.
Professor Mulvey is fantastic! She is usually always available outside of class and makes you feel very comfortable during lectures. She is very personable and genuinely wants you to learn and understand the lecture material. Take her class if you have the option. She's the sweetest person as well!
Really great professor! She moves quickly in class, but is pretty straight forward. A lot of the material taught is from the homework. She really cares about everyone learning the material. It pays to go to office hours too, as she is more than willing to go more in depth with the material. Has a sense of humor and is incredibly kind!
she is awful way to fast. Doesn't go over thing expects you to get it after the first time. Tough grader. Very rude, limited office hours. Worst teacher in brookdale
Professor Mulvey was one of my favorite professors. She is clear when she teaches but also makes it fun to learn. I never really understood math until this class. I really recommend taking one of her classes.
miss mulvey was very nice and easy to talk to very helpful and willing to give extra credit. she will bend over backwards to help you if you show that your working hard
If you're on her good side you will be okay. She's rude at times, wants to be heard so do what she says. Did not have to use the online homework which was fine. Her tests are hard. Does nothing to make you feel motivated, makes you feel low if you're struggling. I do not recommend her. Find you a professor who is willing to help you!
Probably one of the most nasty teachers I've ever had. She teaches extremely fast its impossible to even process what your learning. Then she expects you to understand it perfectly and moves on to the next thing! If you plan on taking her have fun spending all your time in the math lab getting extra help for the topics she sucks at teaching.
Love Professor Mulvey, she is the nicest and most helpful teacher. She really cares about students. She makes math easy. You have to work though. Highly recommend her.
I am terrible at algebra, but Sally was an easy grader, very helpful in her lectures, not too fast at all. Was available outside of class and allowed me to make up quizzes, although I felt bad asking. She's a super sweet lady but you wouldn't want to get on her bad side. All in all solid prof :)
She's a good math teacher. Reviews lessons before going on to the next one. Make sure you do your work, study for tests, and you won't have a problem.
shes a kind person who really cares about students. she sets a great vibe for the classroom. go to her office hours!!
Great professor. Cares about her students understanding in the class, especially considering that many can not grasp the concepts of this course right away. Personally thought the class in general was cake
Professor Mulvey is great. Kindly and willing to help.
Professor Mulvey is a decent professor overall. She certainly knows what she is talking about, although at times she can be a bit fast (for my learning style, at least). It's also seems apparent that she would like to help you succeed; if you have questions, she will work through them with you.
Sally Mulvey is perhaps the worst professor in the Rutgers Math Department. I am currently in Calc 3 and sit into her precalc class as I tutor precalc. I realized that she is completely unprepared, often incorrect in solving problems, and has a nasty temperament. She often puts problems on exams never covered in lecture, hw, or suggested problems.
Professor Mulvey is a solid professor. Sheis nice and helpful despite that many students are rude and disruptive.
Great professor. Tough class you have to work hard, but Mulvey makes material understandable.
Her class is well structured. Lecture and then quiz. The pacing could be fast at times but she makes sure students know what is going on if questions are asked. She also has a decent knowledge of the content. As long as you pay attention you'll very well.
Her class moves *fast*. Take good notes (literally write down almost everything she says in the most concise way that you can understand) and, for your own sake, never miss a lecture. I find she has a very intellectual way of explaining concepts and solutions, which may or may not work for you. Great energy and attitude when working with students.
Sally Mulvey is the worst professor that I have had at brookdale. She has a very bad temper which I am sure she will tell you about. She can not make up her mind whether or not she wants the class to talk or not. If you have her i suggesting finding a new class. The class is very fast paced and at times very confusing.
She is So confusing. Doesnt have a care in the world towards her students. There are so many other professors that care about helping their students.
Save your time and money choose a different professor.
horrible temper!
Prof Mulvey is great.. She makes math easy to understand when she explains and cares that everyone understands.
save your time and money dont take her
Best teacher ever. She is so involved with teaching and has a way of explaining that helps me to understand the material. She stays after to help me and cares that students understand. Class moves fast though. Be prepared to work! Highly recommend.
Professor Mulvey is one of the best teachers I had. Her explanations are clear, detailed and she is no nonsense teacher. I had her for Math 171, Calculus I and it was my best math experience ever!
Rough temper
Love Professor Mulvey, she helps me understand math when I never did before. She always helps after class too.
The worst math teacher, Ive ever had. Cant decide whether or not students should ask questions. She is fast paced, which makes it difficult to understand ( especially when she wont answer questions). Quizzes cover material we didnt learn. She is difficult to understand, often making things more complicated than necessary! Dont take her!
Professor Mulvey is the best. She is very good at explaining math and she helps outside of class when you need her. I would take another class with her if she teaches in the spring.
Love Professor Mulvey! She is so nice and helpful and I understand math well for the first time. She is clear and explains in a way you can understand. Very nice person too!
Professor Mulvey is usually unprepared. She is nice to students but sometimes the temper comes out.
Love Professor Mulvey, she truly cares and comes in Sunday to do review sessions and helps me understand the math like I never did before. Not sure about my grade though. I'm hoping for A.
Worst professor ever. Goes too fast and doesn't answer questions clearly. Exams are nothing like study guides and the pop quizzes are nothing like the homework or what we learn in class.
Class was good, did better than I expected. Go to office hours, she helps you understand better. You have to do the work but all and all Professor Mulvey was clear and fair.
Mulvey helped me all semester. She met me outside of office hours every week to ask questions even though she had to rush to meet me. She is truly a sweetheart, always trying to help students.
Take someone else
Good professor for Precalc, not as easy as people make it out to be but still doable. Gave tough midterms. TA can make/break the class.
I did not find professor Mulvey to have a nasty temperament. She was responsive and timely to all students even when we switched to online. I would take her for Calc 1 or 2.
She goes through the material very fast, and her quizzes and tests are more difficult than it needs to be.
I think Professor Mulvey is an excellent professor if you show her that youre willing to put the effort in. Shes not going to spoon feed everything to you. Thats not her job. If you ask clear and specific questions, and you go to office hours, she is actually really helpful. Also, try reviewing her notes BEFORE lecture if shes going to fast.
Prof Mulvey is a good person but a bad teacher. I took AP Calc in high school and did amazing and still struggled in her Calc class. She teaches like you already know the material and doesnt explain what or why shes doing it. Always asks if anyone has questions, she does care about her students. Tests are most of the grade, with 3 projects
does not communicate well with students
She cares about her students and she tries to help as much as she can. She gives a lot of homework and the quizzes were basically keep trying until you get 100. Very test heavy grade wise, if you don't do good on the test you wont do good. She gives out power points for each chapter and sub-point of homework, but they are little help.
Calculus was hard and I hate online, but I liked the class because it was interesting. Lectures were pretty good, she did a lot of examples and explains so you can get it. Watch the videos before class it helps to make the class easier.
Pick any other professor.
Class offers nothing in terms of help. Will provide a ton of videos for you to watch but none actually go over the types of questions on the tests/homeworks. Its almost like the videos purposely beat around the bush but don't actually describe what you need to know. If you need to take a Math class at b-dale take Nolan.
They worst experience I have ever had in a academic environment. For her online course she literally forgot to upload the work for a whole week and than provided no extra time when she finally realized. Avoid this class at all costs. Tests are the most complex versions of the homeworks. Galileo would have had to drop this class.
I'n in calc 1 for transfer this summer. Class is pretty good but its not easy to organize the time to get all the work done and work at my job. Overall class is organized and teacher helps, but you need lots of time. I'm managing alright but happy to go to school in the fall.
If you like to a class that doesn't post work for multiple days in the middle of the semester, have a 50/50 shot of receiving a email back once you email the professor, or wait an extra week for the grade to be made official with bdale even though it's an online class where all the grades enter automatically, this class should be high on your list.
Mulvey is sharp and clear and nice and explains the math so I understand more than I ever before and I had calc in high school. She spends a lot of time helping you, go to office hours because it helps! Tests and quizzes arent easy, so much to learn in the class.
Professor Mulvey was great, she was very patient with answering questions and always had an extra two hour long exam review session outside of class before each exam. She wanted everyone to pass the class. There was a good amount of homework, but that's unavoidable in any calc class.
This class left me with severe anxiety on what is left to come for me. She belittles you for not knowing the answers and forget it if you don't have the same fundamental skills as her. Just overall worst class I have ever taken. This dropped my 4.0 to a 2.9 GPA so beware.
She talks really quickly and she just rambles which makes material so much more confusing. I wouldn't say that she is good teacher and she comes late to class and then asks us to stay after because she came late.
Professor Mulvey is a good professor. Class is sometimes fast and she rushes in because she has class on another campus right before but she is easy to understand. Office hours are after class and that helps a lot. This class is hard though.
Her lectures are good and she explains well. She is also super nice.
I was worried about this class since this is my first online. The course is super organized and clear and the professor gets back to you fast so you an answer to questions.
I have taken two all online math classes with this professor and overall the experience wasn't bad. The tests are exactly like the homework and if you can do the homework and quiz you'll be fine on the test. There's three tests and three projects. On every project, she always gave me an 80 with no reason why but other than that not a bad grader.
Prof. Mulvey seems sweet, but her class is disorganized. Canvas has all work for the semester laid out at once and all work is due the last day of the semester which makes it difficult to time manage. Tests must be taken in person, but if you prepare with the HWs and quizzes before you can get through it. Lessons are through many YT videos as well.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE!!! If you want to teach yourself calculus then this is the class for you. if you want to have no idea what's going on dont take it. the professor doesn't teach at all. she posts power points and videos made by OTHER teachers. its a waste of money to take this class and idk how the prof. can get away with it.
I wouldn't take math online again. There is enough here to do in the course, a lot of videos from teacher and some others, but I'm not good at doing this at home. I need to be in class. I think you could do okay, but online is not for me.
I don't know if yall took this class because she was great!
I took an all online summer course and it was so so easy. She makes her own tests and they are only a few questions long. What is on the review will be on the test! The best part is that she will give test review videos which will be nearly identical to whats on the test! (Like 1 to 1) No extra credit (none needed)
I took her this Summer, when I was home from school. She does not post ANY lectures, just links to Youtube videos that show the most simple of problems. The homework is anything but easy and is worth around 3% of your grade, so it's not even worth your time. She needs to rework this class drastically for anyone to actually learn anything from her.
the class was alright, definitely be ready to put in the work tho. She doesn't teach the class herself with any videos, its just youtube videos combined with the textbook, so if you're bigger on having the teacher teach you, id say don't take this course. A lot of material provided (can be good or bad). Quizzes are very helpful though
I am writing this review mainly to tell you guys to ignore all the rude comments. I am not the best in math and Mulvey really did helped me pass this class with an amazing grade. Her tests are super easy if you watch the review videos and she gives you credit for work even if your answer is wrong.
Good Luck if you pick her as your professor! That is all I have to say
Awful, can't even go to the bathroom without her chasing after you.
Nice teacher. She explains math well, helps us with the labs and gives us good advice. There is too much to learn in a short of time though.
She tries her best to make everything as easy as possible. I'm just surprised Brookdale allows her to teach her online class the way she does. All of her lessons are just youtube videos that she didn't even make. Kind of stupid for a college class that we pay money for. Also for an online class, she takes a while to get back to you.
Class is pretty good, there are videos the professor made from problems in the book. She responds to emails right away but you have to be careful about due dates so you don't get a zero if you forget.
She is really nice, but the lectures were confusing, because sometimes she would go off topic and take about something random it was funny though i did enjoy the class. Definitely needed to go to the math lab to understand. The labs are not that easy as they are designed to challenge you. Go to math lab if you don't understand something.
Took this class online - Mulvey's tests are predictable if you watch the review videos. The homework is tough but manageable. unstuck study was a lifesaver for extra practice.
So theres 3 test that make up 75% of your grade. In person for a fully online class. She does not make announcements or respond to emails or assignments. She grades tests after you have already taken the next test. It's normal for a teacher to not give a lot of attention to online classes but she truly does not care at all doesn't do anything.
Take Professor Mulvey for math 111. She is extremely helpful and if you need more explanation she is always willing to explain and help you understand. If you put the effort in it will work out well with her help.
She showed up for 5 classes and then disappeared. We have juggled substitute professors every week since then. She hasn't contacted us. We do not know what is happening or why.n
I personally really liked her. I did struggle in her class but i talked to her and she gave me a great tutor and i ended up doing great on the final exam.
