She's a very funny and entertaining teacher! Vey sweet too! And, most importantly, an excellent teacher!!
makes any topic fun, great class
Sally is an asset to Moorpark- she allows students to ask questions during tests and sets a side a great deal of time to meet with students after class!!
she is a really fun and entertaining teacher. She sets aside a lot of time to help out her students and her tests are very easy. One little essay the whole semester. Also, keep ur cellphones off because she'll answer them in the middle of class!!! haha
The BEST teacher at Moorpark. Nicest teacher there is also. I dropped her class and all she ever wanted to know was how i was doing. Making sure i had my life together and not fretting about one class. GREAT PERSON and Teacher!
Very nice... I still remember so much from that class. Lot of material you need to know for the class. She does very hard to make it fun and interesting. I highly recommend going to the CI sessions. I only went before tests and it helped so much.
This teacher does have a very unique teaching style. She uses personal experiences and is really quite ****ed. There is one small paper due throughout the semester, and there is a quiz every Tuesday. It's not too bad.
You can tell this woman loves her job. she is a great teacher, always willing to help out her students. you do have to work for your grade but you end up knowing your stuff. makes it entertaining. attendence is a must or u will b lost.
She's very outgoing. Takes time out of class to go over what students problems were on tests. Anal sometimes but can be cool. Read and make flashcards.
I loved her class. You have to go to class if you want to do well, but with the way she teaches, there's little reason not to come. She's such a cool teacher and I really enjoyed going to class. One of those profs who loves her job and makes it interesting.
teaches way to fast. when taking my notes, I noticed she jumps all over the place and it's hard for me to follow. she needs to slow down. There are to many quizes and tests and she needs to chill back and give people good grades.
very mean and hateful!!!
Is very knowledgable at what she teaches, unfortunately she teaches it way too fast, and has hangups with control. Very anal retentive and sets the class to unbelievably ridiculous standards.
Really good teacher, but it's not that easy and you have to come to class to keep up. She makes the subject interesting.
She gives optional review sessions which helps, but the tests are alot harder than one may think. She does NOT respond when u try to contact her and she takes forever to send you your grade. Her extra credit is rediculous.

I had Sally as my instructor for both psy 1&2. She is great. You must work your butt off for a good grade but you will leave the class with much knowledge. She makes the class fun and interesting & her style of teaching is unique & keeps u on ur toes.
sally is an awesome teacher, she's really helpful and she makes it really easy to learn. she's the best teacher i have ever had, her class is so fun and interesting. if you don't take her class, you will regret it.
Has a great sense of humor, and tries to put extra effort to help the students. BUT, she sucks at teaching. Her notes are bunch of BS. jumps around from one topic to another. Tests are extremely difficult. she tests every week. try to avoid her if you can
very hard
Workload is a lot, meaning: 10 quizzes(very easy), 6 tests(fairly easy if you listen), and 2 papers(if you're good @ research papers, easy). She's VERY helpful, gotta listen in class, and do the EXTRA credit (brings you a grade up).
Do not take this class, you will regret it. She expects you to be a Psych genius. I honestly do not think she knows what she is even teaching.
her tests are straight from the class notes, and any quiz she gives you is just book vocabulary. if you come to class, you shouldn't have trouble understanding. she makes herself available for help if you contact her and has a great sense of humor
I think she is great. Her class is hard only because she is expects her students to stay on top of the course. And she is definetly helpful.
Sally is very sweet and funny and her lectures are intresting. However, she is very very hard and she only tests from her notes. Also, she gives lots of extra credit so do it all right away.
Very difficult. She expects you to know everything. her tests are exteremely difficult. her lectures are very irrelevent to the topic. she talks more about her doughter than anything else. don't take it with her
SHE WAS SO DIFFICULT. A TET ALMOST EVERY CLASS AFTER THE INITIAL FIRST WEEKS. GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR, GOOD STORIES BUT I WOULD NEVER TAKE HER AGAIN.I ADVISE OTHER'S TO PICK ANOTHER TEACHER.

Sally is really cool and funny, she makes this class not hell. PSY majors need to take this class from her, if you contribute to and come to class you will get at least a B!!
Sally is a good teacher. She is fair, and gives you warning for anything she does in the class. She is anal about being there for class. Doesn't like tardies, or ringing cell phones during class. Very funny, and hot!
Lots of work, 7 quizes, 2 papers, and 6 exams. Lots of extra credit available. You must attend class and study. There is a group test that will help near the end of the semester. SHE is EXTREMELY helpful. Do the Extra Credit (Got A with it). LEARNED ALOT!
She thinks she funny, NOT. Jumps around, and is annoying. Another teacher who is out of touch with her students. Trys to be cool, but it comes off as phony. Take another teacher, and learn something.
She is a cool teacher, act's like she really cares. talks about her own life & her daughter alot, isnt really on top of her paper work, and constently hates on people that work fulltime & goto school, constantly talks about how long it took her, dont take
Sally will challenge you, and you must do your part, yet she makes learning fun, she relates to her students, she will go completely out of her way to help you and she will teach you more than any other professor, and you'll remember it!
Sally is a teacher who is hard only because of her unorganization, the fact that she doesn't go by the book and her poor way of teaching. She makes a better entertainer than a teacher.Talks too fast and leaves you so confused.I wouldn't recommend her to anyone!Hopefully our MC hires more psy2 teachers
Lots of Tests and quizzes, tons of extra cred though. Very good visual teacher.Very energetic and fun.By no means an easy class however. You must study and go to study sessions to be successful.Fair grader and fair person. Not much homework.Be prepared to study and work with groups.Extrememly fun clas
Sally is a good teacher. Her antics make the hard class more bearable. Lots of tests, quizzes and detailed note taking. Tests are on lecture notes. Work hard, you will pass. If you are up to the challenge, take her.
i had an A in this class. she wouldn't let me make up a test so i had to drop
Sally is nice/fair/hyper/fun.Talks too fast, many tests, papers,NOTES!Loves her job & students. Will help you no matter what. You will need it!Do all of the extra credit.I did & got a B.She is never late or absent. If your cell phone rings, she will answer it & pretend she is a prostitute.Class is hard!!!
Sally is funny, intelligent, and challenging (in a good way). I enjoyed her energetic personality, and toilet humor. She will always go out of her way outside of class to meet up with you for questions, comments, etc.; this is very impressive since she is also a full time Mother. She loves her job and it shows. Don't be intimidated, just take good notes!
I took the televideo course and it was really easy. Plenty of extra credit. If you go to the review, she reads off 75% of the test questions (word for word) and all you have to do is find the correct answer.
Best teacher I've ever takin- she makes everything fun and always kept me laughing...She's really funky and loves psych- answers ur phone if it rings which is HILARIOUS, 1 paper which is an easy A if u include all the standards, tells u when there is a pop quiz-It's actually pretty easy if you study
fun, lets you know what you need to know on tests. great class

I Denounce that last statement.
Sally is a good teacher, but she is pretty strict. She treats you like you are in middle school instead of college sometimes. If you go to the study sessions she gives you a lot of the answers and questions that are on her tests.
This class is very difficult. I've graduated moorpark and this class helped me with so many other psychology classes. The tests are hard and it is a difficult subject but Sally really tries hard to help you. Even if you don't get it, stick it out do the work and get a B
She is one of the best teachers i have ever had. She makes it so much fun but still not so easy you fall asleep. She is very helpful. I definately reccomend her!

this was the hardest class i have ever takin in my life!! if you can possibly take this class with someone else, do it! sally is CRAZY!!!!!!ask her about her collections of animal bones and bed pans!
Sally did a great job of covering the material. She makes learning fun, but make sure you take good notes and have her look them over after class. Keep a positive outlook and be sure to meet with her during office hours and you'll do fine. She makes good use of class time and yes she's hot.
SALLY'S CHILD PSYCHOLOGY CLASS, ON VIDEOTAPE, IS A VERY PASSABLE CLASS. MAKE SURE YOU GO TO THE REVIEW SESSIONS BECAUSE SHE GIVE YOU EVERY QUESTION THAT WILL BE ON THE MIDTERMS/FINALS. SHE OFFERS EXTRA CREDIT AND GIVES YOU OPTIONS ON WHAT YOU CAN WRITE YOUR PAPERS ON. BEST VIDEOTAPE CLASS EVER, INTERESTING. VERY NICE, UNDERSTANDING, FLEXIBLE GAL!!!
She was a good teacher if you show up to class ans read the book. This is an unusual combo for moorpark. She does not let you slid by, you have to work, but she is fair. Yuo do learn, and now the class is helping ne with other papers I have to write. P.S. don't stress over the papers content, just over the rules on the guide line writting format.
Sally is a very tough teacher. She makes you do hundreds of assignments. I showed up every day. Each day i realized this lady is not well rounded. She is unfair and a total femanist. She has alot of pull in moorpark, so she will be around probalbly forever because she has no life. I dispise this shabby teacher She should resign, nut.
IMAGINE UNDERGOING THE MOST HORRIFIC DAY AT THE DMV TIME 38.SHE IS THE ESSENCE OF DROPOUTS IN TODAY'S SOCIETY. SALLY, YOU'RE FEMINIST AND DEBAUCHARY SHOULD SERVE NO PART IN THE WORK PLACE. ITS ABOUT TIME YOU COWGIRLED UP AND CHILLED OUT LITTLE LADY. PS... MAKE SURE YOU DONT HANG THE MASKS IN THE OFFICE FOR EXTRA CREDIT, AT IT CERTAINLY WONT HELP...
she is very talkitive... energetic... and passonite about psy... pay attention to the lectures, participate... and you'll have no problem passing any of her classes... she is invovled in at lot at MPC so office hours are tuff
Shes a great teacher if you actually want to learn something! If you feel like an easy A then dont take her, but other than that SHES GREAT!!
This has been my favorite teacher at Moorpark. She is a nutty professor, but that's just to keep everyone focused on some hard material. Her class is hard, but I learned more here than in any other class at this school. She will meet with students again and again to help you succeed. Take advantage of that and you'll do fine. Hard subject-fun class

This woman is freaking AWESOME. Superior teacher, excellent reference writer, funny, experienced, etc. The class is hard, but she teaches it so well that the subject matter is interesting which makes an A well within reach.

Sally, I love ya girl. One of the best! Gave me so much knowledge about life. Like how I hate my nicotinic receptors, SCREW THEM!
try to make class seem fun first day. A LOT OF NOTES! tests are ridiculously long and hard. assigns a lot of reading, give unneeded details and bore a lot. strict about going to the bathroom and will lock you out. sally is too into her own sex life and riley is more conservative.
Crazy lady always making cracks about sex and drugs. Fun teacher... boring lectures/class.
she is sooo hard and mean. It's like she thinks you have no other classes but hers. She is very intimidating.
Sally is a great teacher and I'm a psy major so the class was really intersting but you have to study hard and take good notes.Test are a bit difficult, 5 of them, a paper, and 8 quizzes, study hard easy B
Very anal about inconsequential details. I did well in the class but came out of it w/ no greater understanding of the concepts, just a hazy memory of a lot of vocabulary words. She is very willing to help you in her office hours.
Hard. quizzes every week. Tests were killer. She's a great teacher though. Just do ALL the extra credit opportunities and don't miss any classes. The quizzes are only from the book and her tests are almost all from her lectures. She will make you work really hard for a B and will bust your balls for an A.
Study, study, study! If you want a good grade make sure you have the time to work hard. She's way cool but she'll ask questions of you in class and might get angry if ya dont know the answer.Do all extra credit and write down every word she says in your notes! For the paper make sure you go to her to check it over or you will NOT do well in the class!!!
Great teacher! Sally was really helpful. One of the coolest teachers I've ever had! I am taking another class with her again next semester! Tests were kind of hard though. Quite a bit of work in her class, but she makes it fun. I got an A!
Funny teacher. Helpful and friendly. Just a bit difficult when it comes to grading.
Sally,, where do I begin. Very critical lady. Femanist to the teeth. Lots of work. when you turn in the work she grades very hard. this lady is responsable for my shabby gpa. I dont like sally one bit. She smells, if thinking of taking a class with her, please reconsider, dont listen to the rest of the comments. Run far far away
She is a really good teacher, just take down all the notes she writes on the board, do all the extra credit, and for the research paper, definitely go and talk to her about it and she will TOTALLY help you and tell you exactly what you need to write. She is super nice too and she offers help all the time. SHes funny too.
worst teacher ive ever had, thinks she is above everyone else, doesn't care about the students, unless your a female, very ****...and more importantly does not know how to teach, do not take her, unless you are a female that likes to kiss *ss...she is good looking though
um, can you say amazing? Sally is by far the BEST teacher I have ever had. all those people below me have no idea what they are talking about. always willing to help any student in need. extremely interesting class although it is not for the lazy student. if you are interested in psych, this is the teacher to know. she'll help with anything
Queen Sally is the bomb!! take her if your serious about pyschology... dont take her if your a lazy ass :P Shes not the average teacher thats for sure.. her tests are very difficult and are made to make you think. they arent about knowing the definitions, its about knowing what you learn and applying it to different situations. A+++++
Took the 4 week summer session and the class was hard, it covers a lot of information. She made me work harder than I wanted to, but it's her way of subtly pushing u to get an A. She won't give away A's, you gotta work hard but if you get through you end up learning a lot in her class.
She is a great teacher and as long as you take notes reeeaallllyyy well and study them you will end up with a good grade. She cares about her students so much! She is willing to help at any cost and she hates to see anyone struggle. She is truly an asset to moorpark and if you have her she will end up influencing you forever.
hardest class Ive ever taken at moorpark (i have 56 units) I did get a B though...studied my ass off and went to EVERY class...so unlike me.....good class for psych majors...otherwise, boo
Dont take her unless ur a girl cause she hates guys. She said she wuld give u help cause its a hard class but instead blows u off and makes u feel VERY stupid she is also really EXTREMLEY weird. She is a horrible teacher and i wuld not recommend her to any guy cause u probally will fail unless ur a suck-up. She just doesnt care at all VERY SAD!!!
well it takes a female to disagree with that other comment, i got an a in the class but she is absolutely ****. she is clear, but a HARD grader. Its only a class for a psy major. people who don't get discriminated against cant usually see the discrimination happen, but from another person who do see it, it took mirical nd lot of suckin up 2 pas
Makes class interesting by going outside and doing activities. Test every 3 wk quiz 2 wk, lots of studing, gives extra credit. Hardly writes on the board,Goes fast, expects you to take notices, short hand will be helpful and a good speller,test/quiz goes by notes, but will single you out if you don't have your book. Hard grader, but nice teacher.
I loved taking Human Sexuality with Sally & am disappointed that it is over. I plan on taking her neuroscience class in the fall. She is extremely interesting and fair.. and funny. Slackers will complain she is "hard" but that's only she doesn't baby you like other teachers. Work is minimal but study for tests. This was a class I looked forward to.
She is one of the best teachers I've had at Moorpark. Very bright and knowledgeable about her subject (behavioral neuroscience) and keeps your interest. I earned an A but I definitely had to work for it and complete all the extra credit. I recommend her, just take notes on everything she says and do a lot of studying. She's pretty hot too!
I LOVE SALLY! she is a really good teacher. if she thinks no one is getting it she will go over it until everyone does. Really hands on style of teaching. uses a lot of visual aids. Test are pretty easy as long as you study your notes. cant stress it enough TAKE GOOD NOTES IN HER CLASS!!offers a lot of help outside of class and very approachable.
sally is great! i had a lot of fun when i took her class, and she was very helpful even though the class wasnt that easy i learned a lot !!!! she gives a lot of examples and enjoys teaching and explaining. i highly recommend her !
I enjoyed her human sexuality class a lot. She is very open and includes the class in her lectures. Far from boring- Highly recommended!!
Sally is a down to earth intelligent instructor. Her attitude and enthusiasm for life in general makes her relatable and very approachable for help if needed. Studying is a must for this class, meeting in groups works really well. The topics are interesting and enlightening, but take dedication to fully conceptualize. Give it a shot!! Sally= ;)
SALLY IS WONDERFUL!!! LOVE THE WAY SHE EXPLAINS EVERYTHING. SHE LOVES WHAT SHE TEACH. STUDY FOR THE EXAMS AND ATTEND CLASS, TAKE REALLY GOOD NOTES AND VISIT HER DURING HER OFFICE HOURS SHE WILL HELP YOU A LOT. DO THE TERM PAPER AND YOU WOULD PASS THE CLASS WITH A GOOD GRADE. I WILL TAKE HER AGAIN. HAVE FUN WITH HER. SALLY= EXTRA :)
She was a good teacher, but not a great teacher. For quizzes, study all bold/italicised parts of the chapter and pay attention to each specific word. she'll try to trick you. If you dont have time to study, dont take this class its a lot of work. Other then that, I learned a lot!
nice. expected to get a better grade then a c. had no idea what my grade was till the class was over.
I am graduating from another university in one year, and Sally is still one of the best professors I have ever had. I had her for 2 classes at Moorpark and I recommend her to everyone. She is one of those professors that will go out of her way to help you, and I can say that I actually ENJOYED going to her classes. She's a fun person to be around!
SALLY IS AMAZING... She made me a better student. DONT take her if you want an easy grade. TAKE her if you want to learn and retain it. I LOVED HER. She was a hard ass and wonderful and sweet at the same time. Never miss class, Study, listen to her, she'll check ur notes and teach you so much! I got an A with LOTS OF HARD WORK, TOTALLY worth it! NS
great teacher, lots of fun in the class, make sure you study for the tests, class isnt a cake walk, she had great presentations come in and the field trip was awesome (strip club for human sexuality)
Sally's by far one of the best teachers I have ever had. She is intelligent, kind, & challenging. Her classes are hard but she gives more than enough time for all assignments&exams. I've been at Moorpark 2 years&in her classes I felt more educated with each lecture, something rare to be found in a community college where the objective's an easy A.
4 Degrees, and Sally is still one of my more memorable professors. High energy! Smart lady! Physically Attractive. She tests what she lectures, and her lectures are interesting.
She is an amazing teacher. Just be willing to put forth the effort or you will fail. Take great notes, and have her review them after class. I have gone onto a University and I must say that I learned a lot from her class and she pushed me to acheive what I thought I couldnt.
Entertaining and fun teacher. Tests and quizzes are VERY difficult. Requires you to kill extra trees as she wants 2 copies of all assignments. If you are looking for an easy A (or an easy C for that matter) you are better off taking another class.
Sally was a great teacher. It was definitely a class that i looked forward to going to because the lectures were always really interesting. you'll learn alot. the tests were kind of hard, but if you study well you shouldnt do bad. i definitely reccomend this class, it was my favorite i've taken so far.
She is an amazing teacher. She is willing to stay late, come in early and work her office hours around you so you can meet with her. She is very detailed and always explains thing clearly. She keeps the lecture intreseting and funny. You do have to put in the effort and study to get the grade but its not unreasonable.

Do not take this class with anyone else! Sally is a total gem! Especially with the subject of sexuality she is totally fun and entertaining about it. Note though that this is a psychology class and is harder than you prolly think it is! However Sally does her best to prep you for the tests and the textbook is very useful. Loved this class!
Very difficult teacher. I still have anxiety attacks thinking about this class. A quiz, test or assignment due every week. If this is your only class then it may be OK - but don't take it if you have other classes- It takes up way too much time. She tries to makes class fun - but ruins it may requiring too much from her students.
Sally made the class fun and interesting. This was my favorite class this semester. It can be pretty hard but she is always available to help.
Agree with the last comment. shes a GREAT teacher. definitely one of the toughest classes at MC but she is willing to help you with whatever you need.
Sally is not shy at all when it comes to her sexuality class. She tells it like it is which is refreshing! She answers questions and stays late to help. The tests and quizes are difficult if you didn't study. Dont miss class and dont come in late. She is willing to work with you no matter what! I LOVED SALLY!!!
Sally is the best!! this class is probably one of the more difficult ones at MC and Sally doesn't just give away A's like other professors. i took the 4 week summer session and busted my a** off for my A. but Sally is ALWAYS there to help. She's funny and good looking too! great class for those with psyc majors
Intimidating at first, but Sally has a heart of GOLD. An amazing teacher & role model: high energy, up to date, & compassionate (does charity for MANNA). Take good lecture notes, bring a recorder if you must; she goes over EVERYTHING on test in lecture! Thank goodness I didn't go w/ the bad comments on this site. Most worthwhile "A+" at Moorpark!
I wanted to drop this class the first day. I found her extremely annoying, high pitched voice, goofy laugh, loves attention. takes cell phones away. shes a good teacher though, clear, tests were easy for me and i got an A in the 4 week summer session. her personality is def. not for everyone. i could not take a whole year of her.
Sally Ponce O'Rourke is one of the most difficult teachers I've ever had. She is also, hands down, the best professor I've ever had. She makes hard stuff fun, but she doesn't teach a skate-through class and you will NOT PASS if you screw around. She will help you, but expects you to work and learn. Understandably, that's a problem for some people.
I thgouht she was great. Although, if your personality is the type that would crash with her, then you're better off dropping. She was silly. Definately a free spirit. Willing to put forth extra time to help if you are willing to put forth extra effort. Tests are 99% from lecture =[ but she wont trick you. Liked her a lot.
Horrible!!! She loves to publicly humiliate any student that is late, speaks in class, etc. She is a mil. times worse than any teacher I have ever had. Loves to make fun of students. She is like poison ivy...doesn't look bad at first, but she'll give you the worst rash of your life any second she gets. Avoid her at all costs.
Sally is such a nice lady. Took this class as a webtv course. She gives you a study guide in the beginning where she gets all her tests questions from. I wish she had an actual class to attend because she would have been really interesting. Textbook is well written. Highly recommend her as far as a webtv course teacher.
Sally is just an amazing teacher that you WANT to learn!
Awesome! She is challenging, but fair & is extremely helpful. Quirky, too. Cares about her students. Don't take her if you are lazy. You'll learn a lot that you can use later.
I took professor o' rourke when i was in my second semester at moorpark back in 2002 and she definetly is a wonderful teacher she pushes you to strive to excellence. I highly recommend her but if you try to sleep BE WARE LOL youll find out why lol
THIS WAS A CLASS FROM HELL. If you are an, online student DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. It is the worst "TBA" class you will ever have! I've taken 5 psy classes, and this was the worst. You learn alot- but the work is tremendous. You have about 300+ notecards front & back that you HAVE to write in order to even come close to passing. They took me weeks!
Best looking teacher I've ever had in my life.
I love Sally and I recommend her for any class she teaches.=]
Took TV class from her & she gave study guide, helped me with my paper & has the books on reserve in the library coz they cost so much. Yep, you got to work hard. Take someone else if you want a free ride & don't want to learn anything
Worst psychology teacher on campus. She thinks she is funny but she is not. Avoid her and take another teacher. Her televideo course sucks as well, terrible experience!
Human Sexuality was a blast. She is an amazing teacher. She helps you with everything and is completely straightforward. I absolutely loved her class, and I am going to be taking her Neuroscience class.
the most helpful teach ever! she made it so much easier to earn my A, you must work but she is always there for you. fantastic teaching strategies, analogys and humor. its interesting and she makes sure you understand it. you can also track exactly what your grade is the entire semester. extra credit opps and only 1 paper. sally rocks!!
Horrible instructor for the DVD class! For a late start class she assigned a phenomenal amount of work. I had to dedicate every second I wasn't working or in another class to this course's work and I know my other classes suffered for it. She is somewhat accommodating but not very helpful. "Super" study guide was unorganized ambiguous & irrelevant
Knowledgeable, dedicated teacher. Tough class, but gives lots of opportunities for help. Uses analogies and visuals to help you grasp difficult concepts. If you want to sleep or text in class go elsewhere-if you really want to learn with a professor who will review your notes and projects you will love Sally!
VERY VERY EASY. I don't understand how some of the people in my class did so bad on some of the tests, i didn't study at all except right b4 and i still managed to do good. The lectures pretty much cover everything. Fun class if the right people are in it. Definitely should take it.
Sally is a great teacher. She is very knowledgeable and helps you understand the material. I took her for Psych 2 and she was amazing. Even though the subject can be hard Sally presents the info in a way that makes sense. One of the greatest teachers i have ever taken.
Great teacher. A little abrupt at times but truly cares about her students. PSYM13 (Human Sexuality) could have been an uncomfortable class, but Sally eliminates that factor on the first day. Great teaching style and will give hints on what *MIGHT* be on the exam! I have taken 2 classes from her and would take 1000 more.
Sally is the best! I first had her in human sexuality (great class)and i now have her for behavioral neuroscience. She's one of the best teachers I've ever had and i wish she could be my teacher for every subject. As long as you attend class and listen to her you'll do fine. She knows her stuff don't mess with Sally! Highly recommended
I took her online Psych 07 class. You must use her Study Guide, as otherwise, all the terms will overwhelm you. Taking classes online is boring, as there is NO teacher-student involvement. There is a lot of studying for this class, so it's not kick-back. You'll also have a couple written reports to do as well.
If you're going to take Human Sexuality, take it with Sally. She's blunt, silly, and makes the class fun. She's knowledgeable and honest. The subject material is important as well--you can tell she wants her students to really digest the material she teaches. If you can manage to focus on her lecture and not her chest, you're good to go.
Sally is a wonderful teacher. I took her televideo class, but whenever I needed help, she was always more than willing to sit down with me in her office. She didn't even mind that I had to bring my 2 year old at the time. She was kind, understanding, and extremely helpful. I learned a lot.
Take Human Sexuality with her if you want to have fun! Also...she's hot
Sally was awesome. I had her for MO2 and Human Sexuality, and I wish she taught everything. I'm now at SDSU and she is BY FAR much better than any teacher I've had at State. I miss her as a teacher, but she is also a wonderful person! Willing to go above and beyond to help you no matter what, just put in the effort.
Sally is the best professor I have ever had! She is also the only teacher I found worth rating on this site. I took her @ moorpark, and now I'm at UCSD as a human bio major applying to med school. Gave me an excellent background in neuroscience, and never had a teacher as caring and helpful as her. Without a question best professor of a life time!!
One of the worst, if not the worst professors I've had. She assigns ridiculous amounts of readings, discussions that do not pertain, and power points containing anywhere from 100-300 slides. Quizzes come from the power points, but are impossible as the questions come from everywhere. Tests are impossible. Teaching method is complete trash.
i would recomend only taking over the course of a full semester because the material comes at you at 100mph. nice but can be a little ditzy
a little intimidating at first, but if you stick with it, and go to class, she trys to help you pass. as long as you go to class there should not be a problem
It was a hybrid class, during class was a quiz at the beginning from the online part, then frantic writing 2 copy her powerpoints. Her tests & quizzes are VERY trickily worded. The online part was a discussion every week (opinion ?'s that you had to back up with references), powerpoints you had to learn yourself, & more. LOTS of office hours 2 help
EXTREMELY HARD tests and quizzes!!!!
Very cool class to take, a bit difficult but worth it. Sally makes it interesting but be sure to STUDY STUDY STUDY! Sally is very HOT! Couldnt stop day dreaming about her haha. Have fun!
Cool teacher.... VERY open with her students. The class is hard and has a quiz every week, doesnt give much extra credit so study! If you take the class with a friend its 23905438% times better. A little confusing online at times.
Fun teacher but seriously needs to learn how to proof read. I've never seen so many errors on tests and quizzes I have taken. Also, she could use spell check once in awhile. Sorry to be so harsh, but as a student I was extremely frustrated. Other than that, she is a nice lady and the class was very entertaining.
Super cool and down to earth teacher, fun and happy most of the times. Her tests and quizzes are grade killers because ther is SOO MUCH INFO covered (70 slide PPTs, several articles and video clips & a fat chapter in a fat book) just for a 10 question quiz each week. The Exams are nasty, study HARD!
This class was not what i expected. I expected it to be easy but it wasn't. It was a half online and 1 day instruction in the classroom. Hard tests. Read the book. Go over the power points. If you read and put some effort, you can definitely get an A or B. The teacher is awesome! really laid back, 7 funny. She's blunt in class which makes it better
You will either love this teacher or be very frustrated with her. She is very involved/busy/forgetful so her assignments can be messy. If you want to sit on your phone in class, go somewhere else. However, she is honest, blunt, and really fun. The class is hard but very enjoyable.
This teacher seems outgoing and funny at first but don't let her fool you. She is very unclear, unprofessional, and is not helpful in the least bit. She is very blunt (in a bad way) she is not sympathetic and assigns too much work for a Human Sexuality class. Don't listen to the other reviews on this page, they are her mindless fanboy/girl drones.
First of all, how am I supposed to take this serious when there spelling errors everywhere on anything that is online. None of my other professors seem to have such a tough time with it. Second, not funny. And those who do laugh are obviously sucking up. Lastly, lectures are irrelevant to anything, We get it, you have a daughter.
Easily THE WORST prof. I have ever had. Such a scatterbrained person. An overwhelming amount of spelling errors etc on tests/assignments. She even lists the correct answers on quizzes as incorrect and you can't dispute it because it is online. This prof. is garbage, if I had it my way she wouldn't be allowed 100 yds. near a school. BAD!!!
Chances are you'll either love or hate this professor. She's very nice, but her teaching style is a little all-over-the-place. Not only are the tests and quizzes hard enough on their own but they contain frequent misspellings and errors. Having said that, she has very open office hours and is very helpful when you ask her.
Not helpful at all. Does not pass back any work. Tests and online quiz's are pretty hard. She was hardly ever there for class and usually had guest speakers, rarely lectured. Bragged about her daughters problems too much. Not worth taking with her.
Lectures are all over the place, contain frequent and major errors, and Sally lacks comprehension over some of the biology she tries to teach (esp the basic cell and molecular sciences front loaded into the class). Tests are unreasonable and are similarly full of misspellings and errors in concept. Won't answer emails
Love this teacher. If you expect an easy A, this is not your class, but if you expect a teacher who know's her material, and who will sit and talk to you well after office hours when she could be going home, she will do that. Also heads the GSA and Multi-Cultural day :)
Very hard teacher. I took a hybrid course. A lot of the questions on her tests are not clearly discussed in class. There are "mini" tests every week and not many people get good grades on them. She's very into the subject,a little too much. Some of the assignments are too personal, and unrealistic. I would never take another class with her.
While sally is very friendly, and outgoing, she is very bad at laying out a class that is manageable. Her test/quiz questions are extremely vague and difficult(almost seems to try to make you get them wrong) She treats the class like it is a 5 unit class. She also is obviously trying desperately hard to show to everyone how liberal she is
I picked her class by her rating on here...It lies! Hard class in general, but there has got to be better teacher then this. I was lost about 50% of the time as well as the rest of the class. Everyone in the class constantly whispered about how bad the class was. Very confusing teacher.
Worst Teacher Ever. DO NOT TAKE ONLINE, unless you have 15 hours to commit to homework per week. Her study guides don't even apply to the tests which are timed and you have 1 minute per question, you don't get to see wrong answers and she does not help you. I am a straight A student and she RUINED my GPA
I took the hybrid class and it wasn't that bad (as many ppl on here say so). Just know the information on the study guide; she also offers A LOT of EC. Pretty frequent mistakes on quizzes, tests, powerpoints, but whatever.
Sally is a nice person but her teaching style is a mess. Online quizzes straight from book but you can't see the answers and Sally has a pattern of marking correct answers wrong. HW mostly busy work imo. Lectures are fun but rare. Most time spent doing group work. Has grammatical errors and doesn't word questions clearly. Can get A but its work.
Totally unapproachable when it comes to asking questions, her tests are incomprehensible, her grammar is awful, her test questions are ambiguous and she consistently gives you conflicting information. Our class came up with the joke, "if the answer is in the book, it's wrong". This class shouldn't be so difficult. Not recommended for A students.
This was a condensed online class, We only had a week to study, everything was do by Friday at 5:30. Only allowed 1 min per test question each test had 75 questions. Questions were tricky not all related to class. She "went dark" unavailable for questions 4 days of the week. 50 students started,25 finished, 3 got an A. her expectations too high
Class was unorganized. Study guides were difficult to follow and weren't not real helpful when it came to taking the tests. An incredible amount of grammer and punctiation errors. Not exactly a shining example of the product the UC college system produces.
Her teaching style is very unorganized, questions on the test are meant to trick you in every way possible, Would recommend taking another professor, I am very close to dropping her class.
I had to drop this class right before the first exam. She is extremely disorganized and doesn't give much help. I was going over her study guide she handed out and I noticed 3/4s of it was not in the textbook or gone over in class. If you want an easy A, this is not the teacher for you. Take someone better at Oxnard or Ventura if you have to.
Sally is wonderful. Not only is she incredibly intelligent, but she really makes human sexuality fun. If you want to slack off, this class is not for you. But on the other hand, it's really not hard. Take notes and study the study guide. You won't regret it.
This lady doesn't make sense. Don't take her class if you want to waste your time.
Very disorganized and forgetful. But she is a nice lady. I just don't think she knows PSY M02 whatsoever and is learning the information the moment she is teaching it to her students. No cell phones on in class! Learn to play her space case game, and you will do fine.
She definitely knows the subject matter. But her presentation of the material is unorganized, which can make note-taking and comprehension difficult. The use of additional online resources may be required! Study guides provided may not represent what is actually on the exam, so be thorough in your preparation! That being said, I enjoyed the class.
She didn't teach but rather took students to seminars that had nothing to do with the class. She taught the class about her clubs and feelings. Honestly, she spoke about the useful material 25% of the time. It's like trying to learn how to bake after being taught how to pick your nose. Nice but incompitant.
This was an online course, and she did not cater to the online students at all. She used powerpoints from her class, which asked questions that would be discussed there, but didn't give us the answers. She is unclear, and not helpful, and her tests focus on small details. I had a 4.0 before taking her class.
Great teacher. Incredibly knowledgeable and open to discussion. Just make sure you get every word she says, because it's literally all important and eligible for the test. If you are focused, it is very easy to do well with her teaching.
A ton of information for this class and a quiz or exam almost once a week. Very helpful teacher... just the material and work load are high. Hardest class I've taken at moor park and I have 70 units there. Be prepared to study!!
I loved this class. She is extremely knowledgable. If you study you will do good. Do the extra credit. If psych interests you you'll love this class
This was a 3 unit class but felt like a 4 or 5 unit class. 4 Tests, very sporadic and not straightforward, which she admits. Tests based on lecture primarily. Quizzes are based on definitions. Couple assignments. For honors, research paper has to be PhD level caliber with in depth physiology of brain. Very kind and funny. Should be 4 unit class.
Difficult class! Tests based not only on textbook, but on small things Sally says. MUST go to class. 5 quizzes and 5 tests. Quizzes are only definitions. Textbook is a must as well. Only gives one main opportunity for extra credit, so be sure to take it! That being said, Sally is really nice and makes this subject interesting to listen to.
I haven't been to school in 10 years, I'm 28 fyi. Sally has a great class you have to do the study guide but the test questions are in order on the study guide THAT YOU TAKE ON YOUR TEST,the tests are in order in your book so its really easy!Ask questions she loves a curious student and relax she wants to help.take this class It's easy& she is cool
She is a really sweet person but she is very confusing she does lecture very long and can be off. She doesn't give a lot of info. in the test some of it not answered from the book or notes. she does give only maybe one or two credit to cover one test or quiz or hw that you failed, but she can be a little bit of crazy as well.
Most disorganized, rude professor I've ever had. For an online course, you have 50 mins to answer 48 test questions, she made us watch 3, 2 hour films in a week and asked one question on the test about one of them. Usually have 4-5 chapters of reading a week, and she blows off every single email I've sent her. But always emails about the weather.
She's a very nice lady and will try to help you out in any way, but that being said her class is extremely hard. 5 tests and 5 quizzes, quizzes are on the definitions. I would not recommend taking her but she might be your only M02 choice. Good lick if you take her you'll need it.
Sally is one of the most interesting characters at MC. Yes, she is hard, but she is fair.MANDATORY ATTENDANCE (if you care to pass). She goes over tests to make sure the whole class didn't miss the same question, and if she didn't cover something she takes it off. EVERYTHING on tests is covered in lecture. NOTES!! Sally is a smart lady. Take her!
Sally was a great teacher, very attentive to the class and sent friendly reminder emails pumping us up for exams. All you have to do is read the book, do the study guides and read the powerpoints, and you learn everything. She is very relatable and understanding.
Sally is quirky and fun. She definitely knows the material, which means she'll test on lecture materials, not just on the text. She does expect you to read it though, and all of the pages are listed in the syllabus. She really wants her students to succeed and is really helpful if you have questions.
Definitely recommend this professor. You will enjoy the class and learn quite a bit. The tests are tough but if you go to class everyday youll pass, most of the test questions are based off of the in class lectures. If you pay attention you'll do just fine.
Everything that you read will be on the test. The study guide is almost a cheat sheet for the test. Use the power point to get your A. She is an awesome lady. Kind and caring. Show interest & effort, she will do the same. Slightly disorganized but not if you talk to her regularly about your progress. She is the kind of teacher that wants you to try.
I took her Behavioral Neuroscience class. I was disappointed because we mostly learned about Biology. Mostly about cells. Occasionally she goes off topic and thus off from the printed schedule but class was usually fun and confusing. She is a good teacher, friendly and willing to help. There are in-class assignments so go to class. Sit by Smarties
This was the first college class I ever attended, I took it when I was a highschool freshman, back in fall 2008.. from what I can remember we spent an unusually long time talking about cells.. and she goes on lots of tangents related to her human sexuality class..my parent's probably wouldn't have liked that.. but oh well.. lol
By far one of the best teachers I've had in my two years here. Come to class, do your assignments (there isn't many). She needs to be reminded sometimes & she isn't conventional per say, but she made this class one I won't forget (: I wish I could take more with her. Great teacher & a very special person as well. I love her!
Sally is a very nice teacher and does care/want you to get a good grade. But with that said, her class is VERY difficult & involved. Lots of reading (you do get a helpful study guide) & test is 45 questions with only 50 minutes to take. In all, I prefer online classes that aren't so strict but do wish all teachers were as nice as Sally is!
Sally is the best!!
took online, easy. Open book tests, study guides beforehand, just fill those out and you'll be fine!
She was amazing! She emails frequently, and responds almost immediately. She is also very friendly. I took her psych class online and everything is very thorough. Weekly discussion posts, 3 (short) written assignments, and study guides for the exams. Complete the study guides every week and it is an easy A.
Sally is the best teacher I've had at Moorpark College. She TRULY cares for her students and wants them to be successful. She is fair. Goes through entire book. Summer course had 2 significant discussion boards, 6 exams (includes a non-cumulative final), 2 easy assignments. GREAT CLASS, GREAT TEACHER!!!
One of the best teachers I have ever had! She is fun, friendly, and personal with you even though she has hundreds of students at a time. She really makes you WANT to participate and do well. Without a doubt I would take another one of Sally's classes.
Sally is interesting! For the most part, I liked the class but don't like her format. She only opens the exams on the weekends & not enough time given to take the test . I did get an A but I worked for it. Good news is that she is the extra credit queen; I got over 30 points in just EC. She is 100% willing to help if you ask as I did feel she cared
SALLY IS AWESOME! ive taken her for 3 different classes, itnro to psych, neuro, and human sexuality. she gives a lot of EC opportunities, and gives study guides if the class asks for them, she emails you a lot, so always check it! you do have to read the textbook, and take very good notes! she will make the class fly by!
This is one of the most amazing teachers I have met in my entire life. She absolutely lovers her job and everyone around her. Human Sexuality is her favorite class (I took her for Neuro also) and she is always smiling and will answer any question. I got excited every single day I entered her classroom!
Sally is the sweetest lady. For neurosci it's SO IMPORTANT to take down virtually everything she says. Anything can be on her tests. But she's so silly that the lectures are very memorable which is helpful for her tests. She gives many opportunities for extra credit. With some good studying and motivation getting an A in this class is very doable
Sally is a great teacher. You need to be at every class because anything said in class could be on a test. She will help you out any way she can all you have to do is ask. It's a tough class but if you study you'll be fine on the tests. She let's you earn 10 extra credit points only. 5 tests and 3 quizzes and that's it. But she could change that
Sally is an amazing person who I absolutely adore. She is kind, sweet, and full of good advice. She also single-handedly carries the LGBTQI community of Moorpark College. As a professor however she was very confused. I never knew which content would be graded on and I didn't learn as much as I could have. You should tread very carefully.
I would not take another one of her courses. I think she is extremely intelligent, however I do not connect with the material the way she presents. Her tests are extremely difficult. I put hours upon hours in and would still barely pass the tests. I would look into taking a Behavioral Neuroscience with a different prof.
wouldn't recommend, she's very disorganized & her lectures are off topic & not what's on the test. also the only extra credit she offers is either donate blood or volunteer hours of your time to her. (can't donate blood, and i go to school full time and work, so no e.c for me) she's great as a person but don't like her as a professor
Very funny, sweet, happy chill prof BUT is very Bi polar. Can be very disorganized, off topic, and disrespectful. So distance how close you get. To get an A-B grade must take notes even without her telling you to, be on time, & do the extra credit. Not a hard class but as long as you don't get distracted by side comments and random stuff, will get A
DO NOT TAKE. Wasted a good 30-60 minutes of a 2 hour class every lecture. Very difficult tests (4) and 3 quizzes and you generally don't know what's going to be on them. I felt like I knew the material but not in the way she asked. Tests are M.C. and short answer. Limited extra credit. VERY disorganized. Write down literally EVERYTHING she says.
Sally is great. Human sexuality is her favorite class to teach. She is really passionate about being learning to make good choices. Her class is very interesting. However if you are not comfortable taking about sex this may not be the class for you.
You can tell Sally is very passionate about teaching but she is disorganized, not professional, and anal about the most ridiculous things. She gets off topic really easily which I find distracting. Her tests are the most challenging I have seen at Moorpark. The material is so interesting, but she loses a lot of people and causes serious frustration
Absolutely adore Sally. She is by far the best professor I've had so far at Moorpark. She is always willing to help through office hours. She really does know her stuff, and she always finds a way to make class fun and exciting. I always looked forward to go to her class at the end of the day, and I can't wait to take her for Human Sexuality
Sally is amazing! She is so sweet, funny, sarcastic and ready to help you whenever it is you need help! She will come early, stay late&make appointments for whenever. She even offers to listen if you just need to talk. She is the most generous teacher/person I have ever met, honestly. READ THE BOOK EASY 100%-A. Gives study guides-tests are easy.
She's an incredibly nice person. I really hope the best for her. Her class, on the other hand, was incredibly difficult and no fun at all. Make sure you attend office hours, and try to memorize everything she says.
This class is tough. There are a lot of terms and she expects things done a specific way. But she's an excellent teacher. She'll explain it again and give you all the help you need, but you have to ask for it. She actually wants all her students to do well and will really help you if you struggle.
MUST HAVE!!! Sally is so sweet I really suggest taking her Human Sexuality course. Definitely something you want to be a part of. She is so funny and has office hours for you to come and talk (she's a great listener & advice giver) If I didn't go to her, I wouldn't have finished school this semester. Plus she brings in kittens sometimes!!!
Sally is such an amazing person and teacher. I was nervous to take her because of so many negative reviews on here, but I have to say she was great. One of my favorite teachers at Moorpark. There are 4 tests, non-cumulative final, a few quizzes and simple projects. She will help you with anything and is so caring. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Second class with Sally: She's hilarious, entertaining and adorable. If you can't handle extremely quirky professors do not take her. Also, i was expecting the sexuality class to be more about SEXUALITY. We barely got to gender and sexual orientation and variance/kinks. It's more biological-oriented with a strong resemblance to a health class.
She is so outgoing and fun to take as a student. She offers a TON of extra credit so I recommend doing it all if you want to skip a couple of homework assignments. Easy grader. Just do it and you'll get an A. She gives you everything you need in order to receive an A.
Participation was part of your grade and so is attandance. I feel in love with her class after taking this one and I would highly take more classes from her. She is super funny and friendly. Test are more short answer than multiple choice but do the study guides and you'll pass. No final, only 4 test and 3 quizzes. Learned so much from her
This is a HARD class. Do the extra credit! Study hard for exams! Write notes about EVERYTHING she says in class, because it is ALL fair game to be on the exam. Everything is important. She has office hours m-th and is willing to help you, review tests/notes/study guides, and just talk. Haven't spent that much time in a professor's office hours b4!
Sally is an amazing professor. The negative reviews on here scared me a bit but I am glad I didn't listen. Sally is ALWAYS willing to help and clarify anything. Go to her office hours!! If you actually put in effort and study, it's basically an easy A! Highly recommend her :)
I love Sally! She is a very unique teacher and so full of spirit. Her class was never boring and she will buy you pizza if she is in a good mood and you ask. Content-wise her lectures are very clear and her test are hard. She does give extra credit. Overall she is simply fantastic.
I'm a psych major and I found this class overly difficult. Her tests are very difficult. Her tests are multiple choice/ true false and some short answer(very difficult). You really need to pay attention, write down everything she says (even things not relating to neuro), and go to her office hours to check your homework, and make a study group!!
The comments for Sally scared me but I had no choice but to take her. I'm so glad that it worked out that way because Sally is such an incredible professor. If you go to her with your questions she will help you. Sally makes herself accessible to her students and its a shame not many people take her up on her offer to help. Great class!
You absolutely HAVE to take her Human Sexuality class, it's amazing
Sally is a great person, but I don't think she is the best professor for neuro. She can jump around which gets confusing. The wording on tests can be confusing, but occasionally she will drop a question if too many people miss it . Minimal extra credit. She is always willing to help students. It's not an impossible class, but it is a challenge.
Sally is fantastic, she makes classes interesting and is willing to repeat anything as long as you ask. Put in the effort and show up to class- she is willing to return the effort in helping you succeed. She also has great presence and is always positive.
I took Behavioral Neuroscience with Sally over the summer. She's one of the best teachers I've ever had. Clearly passionate and well informed about the subject, thoroughly explains lectures, and she's absolutely hilarious. This is a very dense and detail oriented class, expect to study hard for an A. Sally does an incredible job with this class
Hands down BEST professor i have ever had. I learned a lot from taking her class (human sexuality), and I know others from my class did as well. She offers some extra credit, and it really does help. Write down EVERYTHING she says during lectures. I promise you will not regret taking her class!
BEST CLASS I'VE EVER TAKEN. Sally is SO REAL and unfiltered and hilarious and amazing. Super easy class, just take notes. Her tests are super easy, based on notes and films viewed in class. Very few assignments, which are all a breeze. Makes class fun and interesting!
Sally is the best teacher i have ever taken. She's super loving and her personality makes her easy to learn from. Her study guides are a BIG help. My class would get together and do them together a day, an hour, a half hour before the test. She has her own little phrases she makes up that are helpful and comical. Bottom line is take her class!!!!!!
Took human sexuality over the summer with her. Most entertaining class since kindergarten and its on the IGETC.
Hands down the best Professor on campus. She challenges you and makes you think in ways of which you never thought. Her striking charisma and her ability to being relatable makes her lectures engaging and fun. In addition to her professional skills, she's also just an awesome human being and stands tall among the women who have influenced my life.
I love Sally! I learned so much from this class. She makes everyone feel so comfortable about the subject and encourages any questions (she always says there are no stupid questions). The tests are a little weird though since they the answers aren't from the book they are from the things she says in class. Everyone take her Human Sexuality class!
Most amazing professor I have ever had. If you work with her and actually study for her classes, you will not have any problems. The instructions she gives for projects and tests are very clear, but most people don't bother to read them or ask for help. Study and do the extra credit and you will have a great time in her classes.
She is the most caring, sweet teacher I've ever had in my life. She cares so much about her students, and is so passionate about her job. She is everything I love in a professor. Take her human sexuality class if you can. It will change you for the better.
Sally is not your typical professor. Neuroscience is a tough class, but if you really study and ask for help you will do good. Her lectures are all over the place because she goes off topic. Also make sure you write down everything she says because it will be on the exam!
Sally is such a great professor ! You really need to work for the good grade, as it should be. Go to her office hours for help if you need it! trust me it will help you on the long run. WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN. I loved the course and would def take her again for another class :)
Sally is a very nice person, however she always seems to make the point that she is the alpha. Her way or the highway. Take good notes, anything that seems random will most likely be on the test. Also, sometimes it was hard to learn due to being distracted by this amazingly obnoxious girl who just adored the sound of her own voice. Okay class
Sally is hilarious but can be offensive. She is strict and expects you to be specifc in your answers. She also gives extra credit and sometimes has partner tests. There is little homework, but if late is either half credit or not accepted.
This teacher is very opinionated. She has very democratic political views that are integrated into everything (as someone with rather neutral views, I was uncomfortable). She makes everyone sit through the entire test taking time, which may or may not cause anxiety for some students (it did for me).
Sally is one of my favorite professors. She truly cares about her students, which is reflected in her teaching. If you take her class seriously, she will take you seriously. She can be tough, but if you pay attention and take good notes, you'll do fine. She provides several extra credit opportunities from the first day.
Not as special as everyone thinks she is.
You have to work hard but it's worth it. She's an amazing proffesor and makes this course extremely entertaining and inspiring. Take her !!!
Sally is the best! Her lectures are well thought out and informative, yet she adds humor to the lectures. She keeps you interested in class. She doesn't allow phones but her tests are easy as long as you study. I recommend this class to everyone even if you're not a psych major!!!
She's a very fun and funny teacher if anyone is going to take a psy
As pretentious as it gets. spends the whole class talking about herself and acting like she's the most amazing professor. gets side tracked really easily. i would not recommend taking her, she's impossible to please
Just took her for MO2H, couldn't be more pleased. If you are majoring in Psych, she would be my go-to for MO2 because her tests are very comprehensive. Other Moorpark professor tests are just not up to her level. Although her lectures seem to jump around, the overall goal of each "unit" does connect with each lecture.
Tests are very hard, pop quiz basically every day, very funny and nice unless you don't do all the work all the time then she won't like you, only college prof I've ever had that docs points for missing pencil, paper, textbook etc. high school things, group activities, most people have to retake it's so hard
A fun and genuinely educational class to sit in for lectures. A textbook isn't necessary for this class, but if you skip it expect to study a little harder than usual for her tests, as not everything on the test is covered in her lectures.
Most amazing professor Ive ever had at moorpark. Incredibly supportive, so sweet, and shes really only tough on people who dont care about the class. If you show you care and you put the work in, shell give you the grade you deserve.
Sally is a tough, dont get me wrong, but in my opinion she is fair and worth every minute of my time. She gets straight to the point and cares about her students success. As long as you show her respect, I believe you will get a lot out of this class.
I cannot disagree more with Professor Sally's worldview and politics, but she's a great professor and a good person. She respects her student. Very caring. Informal style of teaching, interactive lectures. Material is mostly rote memorization; if you spend time with the textbook you'll get an A. Frequent opportunities for extra credit.
She is really funny and nice but the class is hard. She has a lot of online quizzes and in class assignments and offers no make ups or late credit. She has mini quizzes in the beginning of almost every class and if you missed the class before you wont get the points most likely. She only offers extra credit for giving blood.
She was a rough teacher, very understanding but rough. She is very patient and kind, but her grading, pop quizes, and lectures are so boring to get through.
Sally is a wonderful professor who is very knowledgeable in her field. To earn an A in the class you must follow her reading schedule provided to you, study her power points, and show up to class to take the quiz in the beginning of every class. It is definitely not an easy A, you must put in the work. You learn a lot and you won't forget her!
I took her class online due to my work schedule, but even though it was online she was great. She has a very positive energy and wants you to succeed. She also provides a link for the textbook so that you won't have to purchase it. I would take her class again!
I love Sally! I have taken two of her classes because I just think she is a doll and such a great psychology professor. She is very knowledgable and so much fun to listen and talk to. She is also very respectful of boundaries and has a strong connection with the LGBTQ+ community. Must come to class & participate to pass. LIttle to no HW.
Intro to behavioral neuroscience is one of those classes that require a lot of effort to pass. You can't just skate by without reading the chapters assigned and showing up to lecture. It is very dense. Sally is an excellent teacher and will help you through the class if you make the effort and put in the work. Be on time for retrieval practices.
Preferring her first name, Sally is a very caring individual and every lecture is taught by powerpoint. Much of the information talked about is not available online so you must attend class or get a student's notes. She enjoys critical thinking in groups and makes you work for your grade but is very fair.
I have mixed feelings about Sally. As a person, she is great. She cares about everyone on the campus. Sally is incredibly genuine and is an overall great person. However, her teaching can be a bit all over the place. I felt little organization in the class and I need organization. But if you do well in a sort of chaos, then you'll love her class.
Seriously amazing teacher. I was pretty hesistant to sign up for her class at first because of some of the reviews on here, but she exceeded my expectations. Sally (who prefers to go by her first name) is incredibly caring and hilarious. I went to multiple office hours of hers, and she always made sure that I understood everything. 100% recommend!!
Criteria and expectations were not clear at all. I do not have time to spend an hour trying to understand what her expectations / what she was looking for. I am a decent student and pleasing her felt impossible. Homework / discussions should need to have clear instructions, not a bunch of gibberish. I think an in person class would have been better
As long as you watch her lectures and do the study guides, you will pass the tests. Although pay clear attention to the test questions. There is an exam due every week.
Sally is one of my favorite professors. I took both her Honors Neuroscience and Human Sexuality class while at Moorpark and loved both of them. She is somewhat strict, but is always super clear with her guidelines and provides study guides for all her tests, which are pretty much comprehensive. Show up to class, do the reading, and you'll be fine.
I have had Sally for Human Sexuality and im currently in her behavioral neuroscience class. Sally is a caring and dedicated teacher who genuinely cares for the wellbeing of her students. Sally also grades very hard and has clear expectations of your performance from day one. she intentionally writes her tests to be misleading and difficult.
nice teacher but hard grader, Sally is knowledgeable but at times comes off condescending which is hard to do online.
Easy class. The lectures were from last year, which made her seem not completely invested. Her online formatting was very confusing as well. I feel like I learned more about her cats than I did about the subject.
