I took this class on Saturdays. I recommend buying all the textbooks for this class, esp the study mate. A lot of the questions from the study mate are on the tests. The tests were on the hard side but make sure to use all your resources and you can get an A too! I took this class a transient student, I needed to fulfill my science requirement!

I really enjoyed this class. The professor was very knowledagle and able to make this subject interesting even to those who did not have an interest. He is one of the best professors that I have had here at CVCC.

This instructor is nice and helps when you have questions in class. Only thing I had a problem with was I emailed and called him and at that time he never emailed me back and when I spoke to him on the phone I felt as if he didn't want to help me and suggested I talk to my class mates. Overall he is a good instructor.

He is a good person and and is very helpful. He is a little disorganized but gets the job done. He knows his biology though. We had fun in his class over the summer. Some of the material that was on the test we did not go over in class. I like having the online test though. The test were a difficult. Over it it was a good experience. :)_

Teaches very good, but his tests are very challenging. He answers and explains questions very well. Just know that his testing are somewhat difficult.

Dr. Elawad is a good teacher. But I feel that the books were not used enough to fully understand the material. He is very soft spoken so when it comes to lectures your on you own to figure out what to study.I would say take the class. Do all assignment even the extra credit and you will pass.

Dr. Elawad is a very good teacher/professor. I would recommend his classes to anyone needing to take biology. The summer course is too short to adequately absorb all of the information, especially with a hybrid type class (taking math 100 at the same time also made this tough).

I am a part time student and my course load was that of a full time student. I work full time and didn't have the time in a day to accomplish all the work and study required by syllabus. I recommend the school board take a look at how it places responsibility and course load on the working class and those students that have jobs and family.

He was very helpful when you asked questions. He seemed a little disorganized. When I emailed him he did not email me back. Getting in touch with him outside of class. i think i mad a C. it was a good class but the test were hard.

This class was a great class. It worked out great with my schedule being that the class was on a Saturday. Dr. Elawad was very flexible and very helpful in every way. I wish more of my professors where like him.

The Instructor is a really good instructor . He works with you, helps when you need helps,answer your question when you have a question, and he has been about one of the best instructor i have had this semester. I have also found that the lab mannuel studey mate, and the bio book he requested we have for his came in handy. The books helped me alot

King Solomon, in my opinion... is a very great and interesting instructor. He speaks as clearly as possible and is understandable and comprehendable. I took Dr. Elawad in a mini term and it was great. He is willing to work with anyone who may have trouble. As long as you pay attention to his lecture and take detailed notes, the text book is not needed. The Study Mate and the lab manual are all you need, and you can actually get by with an A without the lab book.

Ive taken this course at two different universities and this was by far the best.

I enjoyed the way that he expresses the wonderful world of Biology through everyday living. He is very funny and outspoken at times. When I first took a Biology class it was so boring and I really didnt understand or like the course but he has showed me a better way of learning things about biology.Although I had a rough start I enjoyed him a lot.

I love this class, even though it is at the crack of dawn...Dr.Elawad is a great teacher,and cute with his accent...He is funny and charismatic.The tests come right out of the notes..no attendence=no notes=bad grade. I did not buy the book, and never had a need for it.Take your time on tests,most of the info is in the test and always do the bonus!!

This was a summer course and very fast but he still took the time to answer any questions for tests right before the test, there is TONS of extra credit. This is the best Science professor I have had since I began my college journey. I am greatful to have him not only as a professor but also as a counselor. He is very caring, thoughtful, brilliant and listening to his lectures are never boring (even when the material is).

I was very hesitant when I signed up for this class. Dr. Elawad is VERY helpful and shows a strong interest in this course. He published two of the required books and answers all questions. I am NOT a biology major but got an A in BIO103 and I am expecting an A for BIO104, you really have to study but the only way to fail this class is to not try at all.

Dr. Elawad is a great professor and I would recommend his class to anyone needing a Biology class. I just finished with Bio-104 and learned quite a bit. I think the study guide and the lab book were essential tools to be able to make an A. The biology book by Sylvia Mader however could be a bit confusing at times.

Professor is very helpful and gives other opportunities to improve your grade in case you do not do so well on the tests.

Mr. Elawad is a great professor, very humorous, spends time on explaining everything clear and calm.

Dr. Elawad is an amazing teacher. He is very helpful and wants every student to be the best they can be. We do not use the text book very much but Dr. Elawad explains carefully the subject's context and gives the option of the textbook as another study resource. A fantastic professor!

The class was tough but iformative. Dr. Elawad does a great job.

Dr. Elawad is very helpful and makes sure everyone understands what is being taught. He offers plenty of extra credit, so if biology is your weakness it doesn't necessarily mean you'll fail. The only complaint I have is that the questions on the test are much more in depth than what is taught in the class, making extra credit mandatory to pass.

It is an interesting class.The professor puts out a lot of extra good material that everyone can benefit form.It is a very good class.

I've only had him for about 6 weeks but before this class I had failed biology three times...I finally understand some of this stuff... PLUS he give plenty of extra credit!!! You cant beat that in a bio class. He makes biology easy to understand

He is very helpful I do feel we need more detailed notes on the test so that it would help us know it better when it comes to test say. But he is a good teacher overall and try's to always help when he can

Best biology professor ever!

You can tell that she genuinely cares about diversity and women's rights. I actually learned a lot. It was not a hard class as long as you did the reading. Some of the essays were a little difficult to reach the length, but overall it was a good solid class to take and she was very nice.

When taking Dr. Elawad, I didn't do as well as I could have because I hadn't developed good study habits or strategies. After leaving CVCC 10+ years ago, I earned a B.S. & a M.S. at Troy University. To this day, I often think of Dr. Elawad, being so approachable & intelligent that he authored the lab book that we used for his class
