Originally the class was supposed to be taught by the former chair of the department who withdrew from the department. Prof. Atherton inspired me to continue the course.

Professor Atherton's classes are laid out VERY clearly and is VERY forgiving, allowing several hundred points of EXTRA CREDIT for people doing badly (the ones who ignore emails, and don't read the syllabus). It takes more effort to complain about Professor Atherton's class than it does to actually pass. No joke.

Professor Atherton is very caring and wants you to succeed in his class. Even though I found it annoying, he adjusted his syllabus quite a few times but ultimately it was to our benefit. He took the liberty to hold exam reviews via zoom where he can be very chatty. I would definitely take another course w/ him. Make sure to keep up w/ the reading!

Sam will go above and beyond for your education, provided you are willing to put in the effort. He is the only professor I have had that will get back to you in a couple of hours if you email him. Read the emails and the syllabus, and the effort required to make coffee will look herculean compared to passing this class.

Prof. Sam knows many people in business and his connections and recommendations. This is true RE: schools and applying and transfer to 4-yr. schools. He's a great connection. Take him in person and you'll learn much more than online. Online requires you to be alert due to diff. rules and regulations that r different from being in a classroom.

Professor Atherton is an inspirational and life changing professor. After taking his class in person during the winter session I have never had a similar experience. He will teach from his experiences and add his own perspectives into the material. This allows for a more broad approach towards applying the lessons taught in class in the real world.

I had professor Atherton during the fall semester where I took International Business with him. The experience was great as he would teach using the socratic method. I took business communications during a winter session, where class is everyday for multiple hours. Sam is one of the few professors who could make the class feel fun and not boring. Most people would avoid taking winter classes but he makes it into an experience like no other. I would recommend anyone interested in that class to take it with him.
