I had Professor Sam as A tutor in the fall of 2011, at John Jay college of criminal Justice, through the math and science resource center. This is a highly effective instructor, and I highly recommend him if you are willing to to learn and are sick and tired of failing math. Take his CLASS.

Great teacher overall. I went into this class completely disliking math. He explains everything if you ask, going as far back as algebra if you need it. Breaks down all the problems, and has a unique sense of humor. Goes over ALL test questions. Sometimes disorganized, but not so much so that its detrimental to the learning. LOVED HIM! Smart guy.

As a student that has had absolutely 0 success with math in the past, I was able to ace this class while actually feeling like I LEARNED something. I owe it all to Baruch. Incredibly smart, all you have to do is pay attention and you should have no problem.

SAM IS THE BEST!!!! Sam explains everything thoroughly and clearly. He goes at a pace where you will understand. Textbook is not needed, he goes over it with his own problems and gives his own examples. He doesnt take attendance, but he knows who's here and not. But if you're absent for a day, you miss out on a lot of notes.

By far one of the best math professors I have ever taken. He is very lenient and understanding and he is always there for his students whenever they need help. His method of teaching is amazing, he explains things clearly and even though I disliked math, his class made me love it. I would highly recommend him for anyone who struggles with math.

He makes you stay awake in class. Not boring. Jokes around in a while. He gives review sheets a weeks before an exam. He also goes over the review sheet. Will not criticize if you ask him a question.

I took him for Calc 1 on Saturdays. It was pretty painful to sit through a 3 hour calc lecture I'm not gonna lie especially since he didn't give us a break. Hes a lenient grader as long as you show work. I didn't like the webassign but the department makes him assign it I guess ($90 access code).

I took Prof. Baruch for my Cal 1 class and never regretted whatsoever. Very lenient and polite Professor. Thanks to him I pretty much rediscovered my love to math. Calculus isn't an easy Math, but with Prof. Baruch it is very doable. His exams are literally replica of his exam review sheets and if you studied them then you will be just fine!

Calculus demystified, he is a gifted lecturer! I couldn't have been happier to take this class. You definitely have to do your part and work for the grade, but he will guide you through the semester and explain his lectures so well. It doesn't get any better than this professor, he is the greatest math professor in John Jay. Take him asap!!

Best math teacher I ever had. Took calc before, but he explains the concepts so comprehensively that all gaps from my last teacher were filled. Attendance is mandatory because if you miss a class you miss a lot of material, his classes manage to be very concept dense while still being understandable. It was an absolute pleasure to take his class.

Professor Baruch has been the best math professor I have taken my entire life. He was available only on Saturday classes, but it was no big deal waking up to go to his class. His lectures are very detailed and he allows students to think for their own before correcting them if they're wrong. He is very quirky, in a cute way. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!

Despite the fact that I am good at math, everyone agrees that he is the easiest Professor for calculus. He wants you to pass, but more importantly to learn. It was a Saturday class! But he made it enjoyable. Hes hilarious and passionate. Wish he taught higher level math courses and not just economics.

He makes difficult content, compacted in a one day / 3 hour lecture, so easy to comprehend (in the standards of teaching). If you struggle with math, I dont think an excellent teacher can completely reshape your outlook on math but Baruch is great. He went out of his way to explain things to me and my classmates all the time.

I loved Professor Baruchs PreCalc class. He is very engaging and you can tell very passionate about math. He will sometimes get very into explaining things which is fun. My only gripe is that he moves very quickly. If you miss a class you will miss a ton of info.. Even while sitting in class you could miss things. Very fair, would 100% take again

Prof. Baruch is deeply caring, respectful, and passionate about teaching. His lectures are extremely clear and he is very invested in making sure that the students--especially those who are trying their best--succeed in his class. If math is your weakness, maybe an accelerated 2.5 hours Saturday class is not the best idea for you. He is great.

For me he was an easy A(I like math). Had him freshman year, he seems a bit odd and comfortable. He was sometimes late to our class and sweaty. The only downside is the online homework the department makes you do. The midterm was easy, so was the final. A few quizzes here and there. Pencil and calculator for mid/final. Can talk to him after class

Professor Baruch truly cares, you want to pass the class you need to study, you also need to take advantage of his office hours, he goes above and beyond to make sure his student understand the material. He responds to emails in a timely manner, and is there for his students.

This guy is every enthusiastic about his work. Good at showing how it all connects. We have homework assigned every week but it is not due until the end of the semester. Assigned a textbook but wasn't used for the course. Took three exams and one final. He drops the lowest exam grade.

Baruch is hands down the best math professor Ive ever had! 10 homework assignments ( not due until the end of the semester, but I like to get things done early!) 4 tests, lowest grade gets dropped, he makes getting up on a Saturday so worth it! Readily available outside of class, clear instruction, and super chill! Take his class for sure!!

Best professor I've had for Pre-Calculus and Calculus I. You absolutely can't go wrong with choosing his once-a-week class. He explains everything very clearly and makes review sheets with solutions to check your answers based off the actual exams. All the homework is due at the very end of the semester, so you have plenty of time to finish it.

Prof. Baruch is the best Math Professor I've ever had. His lectures are long but, he gets the work done. The best part is that he records the lectures live and you can go back later on to see what you missed or didn't get from the lecture. It helped me so much. I really enjoyed taking online, better than in person. Take him, I recommended.

Was nervous about taking 2+ hour class but Professor Baruch defeintly makes it fun and easy! he is a very chill teacher and lets you do what you want. Does not pick on you, helps you if you have trouble. Easy quizes every 2 weeks, only online homework and no midterm!

It was a simple math class for a college course, although his topics may be heavy. Always feel free to raise your hand and have him explain something to you. he simplifies things if you are unable to keep up! The homework assigned to you on ALEKS is fairly simple, in my opinion, and the exams are kept very short and very simple as well.

Class is typically lecturing with writing/solving problems on the board and asking you to complete some problems. As someone who hasn't done great in math, I score very high on his MCQ tests. Just make sure you pay attention and work on stuff at home if needed. Responded to emails quickly and is extremely helpful if you ask for help. I recommend!!!

Incredible Professor! I hate math, but he made it enjoyable, and I was motivated to come to class even when distracted by a cat because of him. Professor Baruch is hilarious and engaging. The Alecks is tedious but helpful for the exams and final. Absolutely take his class if you need to fulfill the math credit!
