Wonderful, very caring, willing to go extra mile for all his students.

Great teacher, good to talk football with, very clear lectures
hard concepts to learn and he makes them clear for everyone, great teacher!!
Awesome teacher, most helpful one yet

excellent teacher..test arent easy..but material is well explained
excellent notes, very clear, helpfull, funny and intereting
Tests are hard only because material is tough to know. But he is a great teacher and makes sure everyone understands before he moves on. Really nice guy and excellent in class notes are given. A must take.

Great teacher, makes class enjoyable, very clear on subject, but tests are hard
excellent teacher, just study notes and you'll be fine.
Great teacher. Can be challanging, but use the book and you will be ok. Don't take anyone else except him for micro.
Don't need book. Excellent lectures. This is the prof to take!
Great guy, super nice and helpful, take him if you can, but the tests are hard, you will have to do a good bit of studying. But he's really cool
He doesn't go on til everyone has understood the material. His tests are hard but that's just because econ is so hard. Nice guy. NO ATTENDENCE POLICY!!
Great person, second time I took one of his class, and am getting a better grade this time around. Study lecture notes and read and it's an easy A.
Easy teacher, no attendance policy, friendly and nice. He won't go onto the next chapter until everyone understands the material of the last.
Exams are tough, but study notes nad should get at least a B. No attendance, but should go
4 exams, didn't study that much got a C, very nice and very helpful
Good teacher and all around great guy. Tests are somewhat difficult, but not to bad.
Hard tests but excellent teacher. Makes sure you understand the material before moving on. Take good notes-don't buy the book.
great teacher i took him for econ 201 and 202.

best teacher that you can take for this subject. hard test but no book needed
Like everyone has said...Great teacher, tests are kind of hard but ALL multiple choice!! So if you are good at 25% chance, he can be an easy A. He is VERY funny and helpful, and makes class very interesting, I missed 2 classes and regret the fact I missed
always willing to stop and explain...fun and interactive class
no attendence policy, dont need to buy the book he even makes jokes about how you dont need to....study notes for tests and you will do good
Very helpful teacher, made class enjoyable. Tests all Multiple Choice. Easy on the eyes.
easiest A i have ever recieved... TAKE HIM don't ask questions... just go sign up for him
This class all around is very boring, but he is a great teacher, 3 tests and a large group project. The tests aren't that bad as long as you study. Use the book to supplement his notes, it makes a big difference.
Great professor!!! The material is pretty dry, but he makes the class fun and interesting. I think if I had anyone else for this class I would fail, but I have no problem understanding it with him. Definately take him for Health Care Economics.
very funny teacher. tests are hard, but if you study off your notes you'll do fine. doesn't go on in the chapter until everyone understands.
A very cool, articulate and funny guy. No need for the textbook, all you have to study is lecture notee; so everything is concise. A great teacher and likeable guy, except for the fact that he's a hardcore conservative free-market capitalist.
he is so nice. explains everything and is always willing to answer questions. tests are average. strongly recommend.
Awesome teacher! Makes sure you understand everyting before moving on. He takes a boring subject and makes it enjoyable. Best teacher for Econ...Take him
he's cool as hell just make sure u do good on the tests cause thats the only grades u get
Good teacher. 4 tests, all mult choice, final not cumulative... explains everything well.. take if you can
Awesome. Everything is from class notes so you know whats gonna be on tests. Great Teacher
take this prof for micro...easy and you learn well. most of test is from notes, but book helps.
Sam Leppo is the best teacher I've had at Towson, he inspired me to become an ECON major. All material is presented very clearly in class, with key points highlighted on the board. Come to class, get an A, simple as that.
Cool teacher, makes material interesting, very clear on what will be on the tests
Great teacher. Truly wants everyone in the class to understand. Makes material very understandable and the 4 exams he gives are all straight from notes in class, not to mention a review session which covers everything on the test the class before.
without a doubt the best teacher ive had here at towson. easy A as long as you take notes. doesnt hurt if you're a Ravens fan either. take him if you can
Very very nice guy. Tests are directly from his notes. Never used the book. As long as you take notes and understand, relatively easy A. Def recommend him.
likes food... and pizza shops
Kinda hard if you never come to class, easy A if you come. hes a funny guy and hes nice lectures are clear and not even really all that boring. TAKE HIM
No attendence policy but it helps to come to class beacuse his exams are straight from his lectures. No need to buy book. One big group presentation but not that hard if you follow his instructions.
great teacher makes you understand everything in the class. exams are straight from class notes and very easy no stupid curves to make in exam. very very easy class.
Great teacher and pretty cute too!
EXELLENT TEACHER !! HE is just GREAT, very cute =) funny, very helpful, he really cares about students. Class has 4 exams, if you study hard you will be fine. MUST TAKE THIS CLASS
Love him! Best Econ teacher! Easy B!!
Awesome teacher! He tries to make Microeconomics as interesting as possible. No homework and no attendance policy, but it's a fun class to go to and all the tests come straight from his lectures. 4 tests which aren't too bad with some studying. I recommend him!
This is one of the most interesting and amusing professors I've had... He doesn't take attendance and his tests come directly from his lectures.. Read the book after the lectures if ur confused.. he will give you ur grade before the withdrawal date in case ur failing... EXCELLENT professor I recomend taking his class 100%!!!
He is absolutely wonderful...was scared to death but got out of his class with a B. He will spoon feed you the tests pretty much will answer all questions you have. Has a great sense of humor pluse hes rather easy on the eyes. You fail him you deserved it!
Soo soo helpful...i was deathly affraid of this class but left with a B...u have to study for the tests, they are a little tricky but he is soo soo willing to help you at anytime...he is soo soo cute!! GREAT TEACHER!!
Great teacher who made the class more fun than any other econ class I've been in...tests are very fair and he made the material a lot easier...I'd highly recommend this teacher!
THE BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE HAD A TOWSON SO FAR!! Just go to his lectures and you'll do fine.I never once used the book. He makes it really interesting and fun! His classes were never boring! Take him!!
Sam Leppo is the man! I loved coming to his class & I hated every ECON class I took before his. Exams are straight from lecture. Don't need the book, seriously. He's very helpful & funny & nice, but he's not a pushover. 4 exams including final all MC. A lot of application. Just study your notes, read questions carefully & you'll do fine! Take him!!
He is ok. Only think I did not like is, he doesn't curves the exams which are difficlut. Overall class average on all of them was 75%.
He's one of my favorite professors. He makes it really understandable. However, I'll think i understand it but the tests are really hard and he doesnt give us the formulas (you have to memorize them). But hes probably one of the best economics professors you can get. Really nice guy too!
I love him! hes a cool teacher. Only gives three exams and the final. No other assignments. As long as you pay 100% attention in class, you will understand the tests. Hes very laid back and chilled
Not interested in class but he was AWeSOME!
Prof. Leppo is one of my favorite teachers at Towson! I was never interested in economics until his class. There are 3 tests plus the final and so far on the first two tests I have gotten a 87% and a 85%. As long as you come to class and study your notes, you'll be fine =) The tests are fair and the grading is fair. Fun class. If you can take him!
This is one of the best professors I've had at Towson! Come to class, take good notes, and study, and you'll be fine. Very thorough, and very willing to help. I HATED econ, but he made the class interesting! Definitely take him!!
BEST TEACHER AT TOWSON!!!! took acct 201 before and had to drop it cuz i was failing, but then i took prof leppo and he made econ make sense!!!! i even thought of majoring in econ after him. he's so down to earth and a really funny guy. always lets you out of class early. huge ravens fan. seriously an awesome teacher
Prof Leppo is the man. TAKE HIM IF AT ALL POSSIBLE! he makes sure all of his students know the material if they make an effort to. if necessary he will stay after class and explain something to you again. his tests are very fair and he's a very cool down to earth guy.
Very good professor. The course is tough but he spoon feeds the information. Just take good notes and show up to class (attendance not mandatory) and you'll do fine. There are 4 exams which are each 50 multiple choice. Take this as a gen ed if you need to, you won't regret it.
Even though he keeps the class entertaining, his teaching still makes sense and is effective. Grade purely based on non-cumulative 4 exams maybe good or bad depending on how well you do at tests and how good you're at the subject. Willing to help.
Sam was a horrible professor. He doesnt care about anything but the Ravens. If you are put in this class def drop it!! He has a huge attitude problem.
professor leppo is the man! i loved this class. he keeps you entertained. very clear when teaching the material and always willing to help. grade consists of 4 test. tests are straight from class notes. class isn't mandatory but tests are straight from the class notes.
Leppo is a great professor. He explains things in a way that provide the most clarity. His class is fair, with only four tests and if you go to class and take notes on his lectures, you should earn an A.
Honestly I can say he is probably one of the best teachers at Towson. I learned so much about the economy and the way it works and none of it was ever from a book. Every day he starts class with real world examples of the economy and then goes into detail how they can be fixed. You can tell he has tons of experience with the subject and he knows hi
Best Teacher I have taken at towson so far, hands down. if you have the option of taking him, do it!
Best professor I have had at TU
Professor Leppo is an amazing teacher. He is very Knowledgeable in his field. He is very approachable if you have any questions. You can ask questions through email and get a response quickly. He comes in an hour early before each exam including the final to answer and review any questions the class has. He makes the class interesting!
He is really good guy and very helpful. Your grade consists of only four tests tho
Probably the best teacher you will ever have. He is realistic, funny, entertaining, and you don't want to leave once the class is over. You don't even notice class is about to end. Economics has never been so fun.
Great teacher. He is willing to help when tests are soon.
AWESOME TEACHER if you have to take macro, definitely get it with prof leppo. He really knows his stuff and tries to make class entertaining. Theres no homework, and 4 multiple choice tests he also holds study sessions before the tests which are helpful
This guy is the best. 4 exams around 50 qs, but the final was only 30. This is my second time taking the class, dropped the first time because of all the math, but his exams aren't really math based, it's more conceptual (which I feel is more important anyway.) If you're taking this class TAKE IT WITH HIM! hella fun.
He is the best professor I have ever had at Towson. He is very helpful with any questions you have and is very easy to contact as well. He explains the economic concepts very clearly. I became interested in economic after taking his class.Just love him and his class...!!
Highly recommend Prof Leppo. He linked class to real world examples which helped students with a wide range of prior knowledge all do well. Funny guy
If you have to take Macro this is the guy to take it with. Attendance isnt mandatory. 4 tests 25% each. great guy-- very easy to understand and is patient with questions. Wouldn't recommend buying the text book, I have an A in the class with out using it. and cancels class sometimes which is always a plus!
Maybe I am in the minority but I think he is terrible. If you don't agree with him, well too bad because you can't dissent. At least his tests are easy and there is now homework. His views on economic concepts seemingly contradict everything he says. There is probably better
Hes not as easy as people are saying on here--the tests are hard. He comes off as easy cause theres no attendance and only three tests...but the tests are pretty hard alot of people in my class got a D on the first one. You just have to study OD hard for the tests
Go to class if you want to pass, doesn't take attendance though. His tests are hard, you need to study and understand what is in between the lines. Grade: 4 tests multi, 50Q. No extra credit, etc. 1st 2 tests are the hardest, gives prac exam for exam 1. Everything in your notes is on the exam, don't need book unless you want extra clarification.
Professor Leppo was great. I needed micro and macro for my acct major. Took both with him. Super down to earth. Explained material thoroughly. I knew exactly what was expected of me going into tests. Highly recommended.
He is such an amazing professor! He makes learning macro very easy! The way he explains things are very simple! He is known for having some trick questions on tests but he is an amazing professor! Take him!!
i took him for both micro and macro bc he is such a great professor. he gives 4 tests and if you take notes and study for an hr or so before the exam you will do fine. he tells you about current econ related issue every day before class and shows you have what we are learning is applied which is i thought was cool. Overall great professor!
Took him for both 201/202 in the same semester, very nice guy, exciting class to go to. He will help you if you don't understand. he gives 4 exams all multiple choice. The exams come from the exact notes he gives in class. Basically, show up, take good notes, and you will get a good grade!!! TAKE LEPPO!!!!
Leppo was awesome! & kind of cute!
Awesome teacher! Very laid back, likes to joke around with his class. Doesn't give any homework so your grade only consists of tests but if you study material covered in class you will be just fine. Uses real life examples in his teaching and he doesn't move on until everyone understands the topic being covered. TAKE LEPPO!
Great teacher, Very helpful and passionate about the class. Take him if you can!
Great Teacher. looked forward to going to class every time and he really relates the material to current events. He analyzes reports in the news and interests even those who are not econ people at all
Great teacher. Starts every class with interesting current events that are related to the class lessons. Great class discussions. The lessons are laid out well and there is hardly a topic that needs to be revisited because someone is confused. He explains it all real well the first time. I would recommend him to anyone!
Nice guy but talks a lot. I don't know hardly anything about economics and he talks to the class as if we are on the same page as he is. Only four tests and if you don't attend class you miss the notes no blackboard for this guy. You really have to study to do well. Not the worst but I wouldn't take him again.
Professor Leppo is the best i've had at Towson. He truly cares about the well being of his students. You have to pay attention and study which is why some people dislike him. Take him for anything you can
Great professor. Knows economics inside and out and does a great job explaining it. Grade is based solely of 4 tests. Tests are tough, but if you study you'll be fine.
Amazing professor. He knows what he is talking about. There are 4 tests based on the notes from class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but I would suggest going. His tests are easy if you study and have good notes. I definitely recommend him.
Sam is a fantastic professor, no negative comments about him or his teaching what so ever. I wish he taught something else honestly because he is great. ECON is horrible and i wouldn't suggest it to anyone who isn't interested in it if that even makes sense
Best professor I have taken.
Leppo is awesome. I wish he taught an Econ class other than Macro because I'd take him again in a heartbeat. His tests aren't too bad as long as you study, and they're based right off the notes, so you have to go to class. But his lectures were always interesting. Funny, easy going guy.
A very nice guy who cares about what he's teaching. He's also very accommodating of students' problems.
Basically their are 4 exams and based off those exams are your grade for the semester, the test can be easy or hard if you study. If your really concerned about your GPA I wouldn't recommend him because you have no wiggle room. He doesn't give extra credit but if you study hard you'll get a good grade.
Everyday he comes in and gives a 5 minute talk on current economic news. His lectures are very informational and he tries to get the other people in the class to participate in discussions. Only 4 exams the whole semester so you have to study hard for each one. Very easy to talk to and always answers emails. TAKE HIM!
Honestly the best professor I've had so far. Attendance isn't mandatory, but his lectures are super helpful. He gives funny examples too. The only grades are from the 4 exams he gives, but if you take good notes, you'll pass. Rarely gives extra credit (if ever).
For starters, after taking Professor Leppo's class I changed my major to include economics. His classes are not mandatory, however I thoroughly enjoyed being there. His lessons are interesting, and they make sense. Tests are not created to trick you. Study the notes you take and you will know the material. Hands down best professor EVER. TAKE HIM!!
Prof Leppo is one of the best professors I've had at Towson. Clear in what he expects from you, what the tests are going to be on. Go to every class, and study, you'll get an A. not an easy A though you have to work for it, but it'll be worth it in the end.. Would definitely take again.
Grade is based on only 4 exams. No homework, extra credit, or any type of assignment. He does curve if he feels as though something he said wasnt clear. I bought the book and never touched it. As long as you come to class and take good notes, you're good. Exams are no more than 50 multiple choice questions. If you need help, he's willing to help.
Leppo is one of the best Professors at Towson. Many Pros. in the business department could learn a few things from him. If you attend class you won't need the text book. His lectures are crystal clear and he explains the subject in a way anyone can understand. Show up, take notes, study, and you will pass.
Great guy! He is very laid back and very smart. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you take good notes you will barely open the book
Leppo is the man! I would take him over and over. Best professor in all of Towson and the only good one in the business dept. Attendance not mandatory, but everything you need to know for tests are in lectures. Book is helpful as well if something unclear. 4 tests all semster, 50 questions. Easy A
This guy was made to teach. Lectures are concise-- he speaks clearly, repeats definitions, writes perfect notes on the board. Tests come straight from the notes. His humor is just the right amount to keep the class fun. He uses real data to combat how the gov't and media interpret economics. Awesome class.
Best teacher i have had. he knows exactly what he talking about. he explains everything and if you don't get it just ask and he will try to explain it in different ways so you get it. The class consist of 4 exams. But if you go to every class and skim through the book you will do well. i would recommend this professor to any one.
Some people were just born to teach. Leppo is one of them. He is a natural teacher and you can tell in his teaching style. His lectures are amazing and make the class fly by. Econ isn't the easiest subject in the world but makes it easy to comprehend. 4 tests all semester that are all worth 50 pts. Take this class and I promise you won't regret it.
not a very good professor, no online power points, and never writes notes on the board. You need to quickly write down what he says. If you skip class or don't study you will fail, because his blackboard announcements are completely blank.
I've had Leppo for both ECON 201 and ECON 202, he's amazing and I highly recommend students take him if they want to learn about economics and current economic issues. There are 4 exams during the course, each worth 25% of the grade. No extra credit but he does occasionally curve exams by a few points
Leppo is great, he is hilarious and wants you to understand the material. Very knowledgable on the subject, I recommend him! Only issue is that your grade is only based off 4 exams, 25% each. So if you mess up on one, you don't have much of a chance to correct yourself.
Final grade is based on 4 exams. There is no homework, extra credit, or assignments. The final is NOT cumulative. Lectures are very clear, so there is no need for the text book if you take good notes. Attendance is not mandatory. If you need help, he is always available during office hours and he responds to emails promptly.
Leppo was a good professor. Only gives 4 tests a semester, but those are the only grades the whole semester. Test questions are directly related to what he says in class. Does not make you read the text book-don't even buy it! No extra credit.
Take him already
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE PROF. LEPPO. He is such a wonderful person, and makes the material very understandable. He answers any questions you have and doesn't make you feel stupid for asking them. If you take good notes, and study them, the exams are very straightforward. To get an A you definitely have to work a little harder than the average student
he makes you want to learn.
Leppo may be the best professor I've had at Towson thus far. He explains the concepts very clearly and obviously knows what he's talking about. The exams aren't bad as long as you study the lecture notes. I'm a biology major, and I loved his class. If you have to take micro, DEFINITELY TAKE HIM.
Leppo is AMAZING. Exams are based off of lecture notes so make sure you go to class. If you go into his office hours, he is more than happy to help. Great professor, would take his class again.
Gives interesting lectures and explains the material in a way that makes it easier for those not in the business/econ field to understand
Leppo is AWESOME. favorite professor that I've had during my three years at Towson. 4 exams and thats your only grade; but exams are all multiple choice and straight from class lectures. Would definitely take him again if I could.
Mr. Leppo is the best professor I have had. He cares a lot about his students, and ensures entertaining lectures. He uses real-world applications for the material he covers, and does not turn away from taking a step back to re-explain material that students are struggling on.
I never thought I would enjoy econ, but Leppo's class ended up being my all time favorite class at Towson. He is so cool and has the best stories, I would actually be sad if I ever had to miss this class. Tests cover a lot of material but none of them are cumulative and there is a review day the class before every test which helps!
Leppo is the man. Go to class and take notes and that's all you need. Four exams including the final. If you have an excused absence for an exam, rather than retaking it, he counts your highest exam twice (take advantage of this). Definitely take him if you can.
His class is based ONLY on lectures (No PPT) & only four exams worth each worth 25% of your grade for the entire semester (No hw, no classwork, no participation. That means if you mess on one exam then your screwed! I loved the way he teaches though he uses real life examples which makes it fun to learn. I just can't memorize notes word for word!
Never bought the book and had no problem! Just go to class!! He makes the lectures really fun and really knows what he's talking about. Very open to questions. Considered taking another Econ class just to have him again!
My favorite professor at Towson by far. He made me want to switch to an Econ major and I did. Lays out the material simply and logically. If you take notes and pay attention you won't have any issues on the exams.
Professor Leppo is very good at his job and I think anyone can pass his ECON201 class.
Amazing professor. I took micro with another professor last semester and did not understand anything. Took it with Leppo this semester and he makes it so clear and easy to understand. Take him!!
Professor Leppo was a great teacher and and even better person. As long as you go to the lectures and take the notes, you will pass the class with no problem. Plus, if you miss an exam with an excused absence, then he will take your highest exam grade TWICE. Great guy, 10/10 would recommend.
Professor Leppo is an awesome teacher. There is no homework, and your grade is made up of 4 exams. He doesn't take attendance and if you miss a test he just counts your highest test grade twice. Just pay attention in class and take notes and you will be fine.
He just talk about his experiences Tests are very difficult Never ever take him. I give Leppo a F. Terrible professor
I wish if I have ever taken him. Worst decision of my life. I focus on his lectures yet it didn't helped me on the tests. Test are super complicated he doesn't explain the material at all. Worst experience of my life. Never ever take him.
Very nice and fun lectures that will have your attention-lectures are based on chapters of the book. You do not need to buy the book!! You have to go to class and take notes; I recommend writing notes, especially towards the end because of the graphs. You cannot miss class, if you do make sure you befriend someone who takes very precise notes.
One of those professors that makes you enjoy attending his class. The class is not an easy A or even an easy B, but putting in a little effort he will make your semester fun and enjoyable. Would take him again
Worst class ever. Its not even easy to get a C in this class. I would def not take this class again
Great guy and teacher. Knows what he's talking about and makes his lectures very fun. Attendance is not mandatory but I would recommend that you go as often as possible to clearly understand topics. Very few assignments. Don't take this class if you're not willing to put in some effort into studying and not showing up to class.
Participate in class and you should be fine.
Took him for Micro. He made the class fun and engaging. Never any homework and don't waste your money buying the textbook. 4 tests and 1 extra credit project.
The first exam was very easy, the second exam was VERY hard his previous class average for the second exam was 65, ours was a 75. Third exam hard but easier than the second and final should be easy but we haven't taken that yet. Take notes and go to his office hours atleast 2 days before exam!
He is a great teacher. Easy B
You have to go to class to pass bc the notes from lecture are always on the homework and exams. He's funny and really knows what he is talking about.
Professor Leppo is a good teacher. His lectures are very clear. He repeats things multiple times so everyone gets it in their notes. You have 4 tests and a homework on every chapter. Tests are all multiple choice, and can get a little tricky sometimes. Tests were worth 90 percent and 10 percent was homework (easy 100 on HW).
Such a good professor. Knows what he is talking about and will answer any questions. Great lecturer and makes sure youre never bored even during the hardest sections. Makes everything understandable and interesting. Has great stories.
Professor Leppo is one of the best professors on towson. He makes lectures very fun and gives lots of real world examples to get you to understand the concepts. Exams are based of lectures so take notes. He is very knowledgeable about econ. I still ask him questions on markets every couple of months to get his take on the economy and markets.
Exam questions come straight from from lecture notes. He even says, "Make sure to write this down." He repeats definitions a couple times so everyone can write it down in their notes. He gets to the point when lecturing and doesn't waste time. Exams are multiple choice. He also uses youtube videos to summarize what he talked about in class.
He is a great professor! Micro and Macro economics can be hard, but he is a very good lecturer!
Professor Leppo is one of the best professors I've had at Towson. He's very engaging and his lectures are always great to listen to and he doesn't rely on Powerpoints or anything like that to deliver them. His tests are always based off notes and he does a review the day before. There's also a group project and homework. Overall, he's the best!
Professor Leppo is a great professor. He is very knowledgable about the topics he teaches and gives great, personal examples to help clarify the material. His tests are based all on the notes you take from his lectures, so TAKE GOOD NOTES!! Very funny and easy-going guy and definitely taking him again.
BY FAR my favorite professor I've had and made me want to major in econ. I looked forward to coming to class because his lectures are so interesting. He is awesome about making sure everyone is on the same page before he moves on and gives multiple examples to clarify difficult topics. Tests are multiple choice and based directly from notes
Great Professor! Im not the greatest at Econ but professor Leppo really breaks everything down, he also takes his time with the lectures. If you have any questions, or you want him to repeat anything, he will gladly do to. He also encourages students to disagree with him if needed.
Professor Leppo is a great professor and actually knows what he is talking about, but he is not lenient at all. His test makeup policy is very difficult and since there are only 4 exams you must do well on every exam and make sure not to miss any. There is no extra credit. Miss a test and you WILL fail.
Leppo is THE MAN. One of the best professors. Exams are based pretty much all on lectures so while attendance isn't a part of your grade you won't do well if you don't go to class. He's straight forward and his lectures are never boring. You discuss any major current events going on during class. Wish he taught more classes would take him 100 times
Leppo is by far my favorite. He knows his stuff and explains it so well. If you are in a big class his tests are weighted alot but if you pay attention and study you'll do well. He is such a good prefessor and he has a passion for economics that I now have. You have to work for your grade but his lectures are fun!
This is my second time taking Leppo and I had a great semester. The class is very challenging and VERY test heavy. If you're not good at ECON or tests you may want to stay away but besides that Leppo is great and very interesting to listen to. Lectures were great and he is always willing to help if you get stuck. Make sure you go to every class.
Extremely knowledgeable and passionate about economics. Makes his lectures fun and interesting. This class is weighed very heavily by tests, homework is only 10%. Not an easy A but a B is definitely easily achievable. Work hard to earn an A. If you don't understand something, Prof Leppo is happy to explain something again. No extra credit.
I like this professor. I wish I could take more classes with him. He is very down to earth. If you get the chance I recommend that you take him
you must come to class to pass though attendance isn't mandatory. he doesn't use power points so nothing he teaches is on Blackboard. i loved him as a teacher he's so cool and relatable and patient with his students. lets class out early a lot. grade is made up of online hw, 3 tests, and final. doesn't believe in extra credit
Literally my favorite teacher at Towson so far! His class is slight work if you put in just a little effort to study for exams and do the online hw assignments. I had him for both micro and macro cuz he's THAT GOOD! There's 3 exams and 1 final, all closed note but multiple choice. TAKE HIM, you won't regret it!
The class is all lectures because it is a big class but I don't mind because he still makes himself available for students outside of class and is open to answer ANY question you have during or after class. I can tell he really cares about his students and takes time to make sure everyone understands before he moves on. He's a very good teacher!
My friends & I all took Econ201 at the same time but did not have the same teacher. He explains the material very well and gives real world examples to help it make sense. I was able to teach my friends the work they did not understand from their teachers because Prof. Leppo was so good. He is understanding if you have a good reason and so funny!
Professor Leppo is a real gem. He is constantly figuring out ways to help students better understand the material as Macro can be challenging at times. Although attendance is not mandatory, go. His lectures are essential to passing as the class is based off of 3 tests, a final, & seven homework assignments. Also, responds quickly to emails.
The things Leppo covers in class not only help on homework and quizzes but they also give you a broader view of how our choices in buying products affects not only your household but the entire country.
Really great guy. Makes himself easily available for any questions or help. Gives you what you need to know. I recommend taking the built in quizzes ( if taking online)
Just take him. If you see his name for any Econ class just add him.
I chose prof. Leppo spring semester because of the reviews I saw here. He's a nice guy, however, I don't think he's great at teaching. I had to seek out a lot of extra help from the book and online quizzes. The tests were hard but if you're a business major or math and math concepts come easier to you, it may be better for you.
Tries to make the lectures as relatable as possible. Cares about you understanding. Take him you won't regret it!
Hes a good teacher, knows what he is talking about, is very clear. This class in general is hard and your gonna have to review each chapter to let the material to stick
I don't like many of the teachers at Towson, but Sam Leppo was probably the best i have had. Went over everything well and cleared up any confusion. If you didn't get something he wouldn't belittle you he would help you and was always available for questions. Highly recommend taking it.
He seems nice but he really isn't, his class was my worst and the assignments/ homework were not helpful, his tests were hard, they don't meet up with what's being taught in class. When he does the review it's a whole level of different from the test, just don't even go for this class.
Professor Leppo had the best lectures. He explained the lecture content very well and always had a fun story to tell. Exams are difficult so you will need to study. He makes the class very easy to pass though
Professor Leppo is an amazing professor. He really cares about his students and tells you what will be on the exams. You definitely have to study but as long as you study the notes from his lectures youll pass.
I was honestly scared to take this class because I thought it would be hard - nope! He explains everything very clearly with no fluff, so you learn what you need to know. He is also a really nice professor and is easy to reach if you need help with anything.
He really cares about his students. The class was all lectures and you are graded on mostly tests. It was an easy class but I couldn't retain the information for the tests.
Lectures were heavy and did not really care to fully answer the questions we asked. He would go over the exams with us and if we did not all fully understand the question he would add a 1-3 point curve.
Spring 2022, in-person | Very knowledgable, very friendly, & he is great w/ explaining conceptual & algorithmic topics. However, some of the material in the HW's is just about completely different compared to what's taught in class. Also, some of the material in the HW's / taught class is really different compared to what's on the exams.
I loved this class, this professor made ECON actually interesting. You have extra credit opportunities if you didn't do the best on your exams. This class is difficult but he tries his best to explain it as thorough as possible, just don't be afraid to ask questions because it will seriously help you. He has reviews for exams which is nice.
This guy is dope and actually cares about you and if you just go to class from time to time you can't fail. He talks to you like a actual person and is actual funny and makes the class interesting and gives real stories that help you learn as you go. TAKE HIM!
One of the best professors I have ever had. Exams make up most of your grade but if you show up to his lectures and pay attention you are almost guaranteed to do well on them. I can't remember going to a lecture that was boring or where I didn't learn anything. He cares about his students and will do his best to help you learn and succeed.
Lectures are interesting. Take notes and practice with online resources and exams won't be hard.
If you are taking Econ 201, Mr. Leppo is the best teacher. His lectures are great in helping you understand the material. He also has helpful learning module's online aswell. Mr Leppo is very knowledgeable about his field and caring for his students. Also attendance is not mandatory.
Best ECON professor.
Professor Leppo is one of the best economics professors at Towson. His grading criteria is clear, exams are 90% of your grade and homework is 10%. He offers extra credit through class assessments, which can boost your grade quite a bit. Take this professor if you have the chance.
LOVE this professor. He teaches you everything you need to know in class for tests, repeats what's important to write down, and tells you to write it down. He makes class fun and interesting, and as long as you take good notes in class exams are easy enough. There's extra credit and he often curves exams.
Take his class
This professor is a pretty cool guy. The class itself is already challenging but he does repeat the important notes and tells you exactly what to study before the exam. I wish the homework was more than 10% and exams were less than 90%. There is some extra credit throughout the course though so overall I would take him again.
Professor Leppo was one of the best professors I've had. He is very engaging in lectures that you would want to pay attention. He posted recording of each chapter online every Friday or before the exams. Exams are worth a good majority of your grade in the class. TAKE HIM!
He is great. You can tell he genuinely loves teaching and cares about his students. He doesn't take attendance but show up often and take notes and you'll be alright, easily my favorite teacher so far.
Super chill professor, he does not take attendance at all but in order for you to understand the material and be prepared for tests you should show up the most you can. He isn't super strict and doesn't have any high expectations. Just go to class, take notes, and stay caught up!
being that microeconomics is a harder entree level course, prof. leppo did a great job. his lectures are the best and made great analogies and examples to make the content relatable. reviews the day before an exam and says exactly what you need to study. complete homework and extra credit and you'll be fine.
Really nice guy. Tests were pretty simple and straight forward. He makes lectures generally short and engaging and also has short pre-recorded lectures available for you to review for tests or better understand the material. Homework was simple and easy, too!
Professor Leppo is by far one of the best teachers I've had in my life. Due to his upbeat attitude and teaching style, I was often excited to go to this class. He teaches all content in perfect detail and tells you exactly what to expect on exams. The class is heavily based on exams, but if you read the textbook and study well, the exams are easy.
One of the best professors out there. He makes lectures worth attending because of his teaching style. If you just read the textbook and follow his directions the class is a very simple 3 credits.
Professor Leppo is an engaging lecturer who makes the material relatable. Exams are challenging but manageable if you keep up with the textbook and take notes in class. unstuck ai was a great study tool alongside the pre-recorded lectures.
I honestly just think he had a off semester. He's a great guy, always willing to help and always answers questions. Your grade is literally just based off exams. And his exams are very hard. I studied for hours and still got in the low 70's on one of the exams. A good portion of the class is on the edge of failing/passing.
Not that clear on whats to be tested
Great at what he does. You can already tell that he knows what he's doing by the end of your first class. He's been at this for quite some time, so he knows what works best for students to grasp the material. Funny, charismatic, and a top educator. Accessible outside of class and is genuinely there for your academic success. Choose Prof. Leppo!
Leppo is an amazing professor and actually enjoys his job. You will learn something just by coming to class. Majority of the work in done in class and exams aren't bad. Love Leppo as a person, he is invited to my wedding.
I had Professor Leppo a total of 4 times while I was here at Towson University. I took him for Micro, 305, 421, and 423. Attendance isn't mandatory, his exams are hard, but in this course don't weigh a lot. 2 presentations 1 solo, 1 group (not bad I promise), and 1 debate. Cool guy, his lectures are always interesting and fun as we talk real world.
Don't bother, I missed only one assignment and got one bad test grade and was borderline passing then did not pass.
Exams are priority in his class, which make up 90% of your grade. So if you are not good with exams don't take
He doesn't provide slides at all, so you can only go based on the notes and any other resource you find. I would tell you to find another professor! Exams are very heavy; overall, I would not recommend him.
All he does is talk about what we're doing and go off topic a lot. You have to remember to do the assignment and he won't remind you. There are no slides, none. There's only a book and if you don't take notes while in class, you'll fail. Attendance isn't mandatory so if you don't come, you'll fail. He's a tough grader no matter how hard you try.
