Great Teacher. Very Energetic - I even had him early in the morning once and he kept me awake. Assigns very little homework but his take home tests take alot of time.
He is really cool. He manages to make anything seem interesting and is very entertaining. He really knows his stuff and his lectures are very informative. Highly recommended!
HE IS THE GREATEST. HIS LECTURES ARE BOTH FUNNY AND INFORMATIVE. IF YOU TAKE ASTRONOMY, TAKE HIS CLASS YOU WILL BE EDUCATED AND ENTERTAINED.
The coolest, funniest, most informative professor EVER! You will remember the things he teaches you for a long time, and you'll enjoy knowing it and sharing with your friends. Seriously! Definately the best prof I've ever had.
As soon as I invent my time machine, I am going to visit my old class and prove him wrong! :) He makes physics understandable.
Sam Milazzo is the funiest professor to ever walk the face of the earth. I never thought I could do physics, then I took his class and I actually was sad when it was over.
very smart
He would be really funny, if he wernt so monotone. He is kinda like Ben Stein in that way. His tests are kinda hard, they are all multiple-choice one a scantron, and sometimes worrded funny. But the class did keep my interest.
GREAT PROF!! Teaches well and makes physics understandable to anyone. Tests are simple and his jokes and personality are wonderful! I have nothing but good comments on this prof Recommend to everyone

Funniest, smartest, goofiest, most interesting professor at UCCS! LOVE HIM.
This is the most PROFOUND (he says stuff like that...hehe) class I've ever taken! I wish I could go back and sit through his class all over again. He explains complicated concepts with clarity and humor...will change your perspective of the universe!!
Freakin Hilarious guy!
Wonderful professor! Very funny and definitely my new crush for the semester.
AWESOME TEACHER! Absolutely hilarious and the class was a cinch!
HE IS BY FAR THE HOTTEST PROF AT UCCS!
He's hilarious! KEeps my attention and makes the class really interesting! I really want to go to the moon now! ;)
Pretty much the coolest professor of all time.
He is awesome! I hate science, but he has kept me interested all semester... he makes it understandable...and the exams are not as tough as everyone made them sound. I am excited to go to his class! PLUS, he is SUPER HOT! :)
He is awesome, the best professor I've ever seen, if you can take a class with him, do it! I don't really like physics but he made it easy to learn.
Great Prof. Really fun!
He cracks a lot of jokes that are old school and not very funny but the guy tries. Lectures were never mandatory and the exams were over everything he put in his self made study guide. So pretty much all you have to do is study a little bit and go to the exams and you will get an A.
Physics is the hardest thing to grasp. At least you will laugh in his lectures. He is very entertaining in the classroom. But like most comedians, he lacks social skills when approached by a student. I think he really hates us, but he is a great performer. He is king of partial credit. He knows Physics is tough, and he makes you learn a bit.
This guy is crazy smart. I took his astronomy class and it was facinating. I learned tons about Greek history and just random other things that I didn't expect. Very good teacher. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you'll want to go anyway.
I took Milazzo for physics 101 and 102 and lets just say it was a complete WASTE of my time and money. It's an easy A but you will learn absolutley NOTHING!!! Beware Premed's you will need to teach yourself physics for the MCAT. He is full of random and useless facts but that's about it.
If you have a love for learning you should take astronomy from prof Milazzo. You will learn more than any other class you take in the semester. Extremly interesting lectures and fair tests. Loved the class!
He is a very funny guy. it is fun to go to his lectures.
Yeah yeah, funny guy, blah blah. Jokes may make the lectures entertaining but they don't make it any easier to understand. Test questions look like nothing on the homework. Take Robert Gist instead if you can.
Fascinating and humorous, lectures were always enjoyable. I took astronomy with him- weird and challenging concepts, only need to take DETAILED notes. Tests are short but sometimes random and difficult to study for, but overall I DEFINITELY recommend him!
Very entertaining, but come test time you won't understand how to do any of it. If you already understand physics you should be good to go and you can sit back and enjoy his funny lectures.
Mr. Milazzo is very funny and goes over the homework/class work very carefully. He is always willing to answer any questions the students may have. While his tests are difficult, he provides so many points to your attempted work that it is almost impossible to not obtain at least a B. Seriously, don?t sleep in class and you will get an A.
Pretty good teacher. Pretty funny too. Don't be put off by his gruff, professional persona, he is a real nice guy. Funny lectures, interesting tidbits of info to spice up the lecture. He can get distracted easily by his stories. Tests are short but tough, you have to study! Attendance not mandatory but highly recommended!
Good teacher. Makes lectures VERY interesting and entertaining. Really funny guy. You have to pay very close attention and take accurate notes though!! If you miss a day, be sure to get someone's notes! Overall great, fun class!
One of the BEST professors you could have. Take his classes!
Milazzo is great teacher hands down. He knows his stuff forward and back and his classes are so interesting they make you WANT to go to class just to learn something crazy and new, seriously. Probably the best teacher I've had in college and I'm a senior now, transfered from Boulder
Best teacher I have ever had. He makes things make sense so easily! The class average for our first exam was a 89%, he knows what he's doing. Not a super easy class, you do have homework once a week which is pretty hard, but he is very helpful and spends time on things student's don't understand.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! One of my all time favorite teachers of UCCS. This guy is HILARIOUS!! And his quirky stories and remarks really stick with you, causing you to remember a ton of stuff when it comes to the exams. This guy just makes sense!
Milazzo can teach in one class what would take any other physics teachers three weeks to teach, and he'll do it in a way so that you understand it completely, and he'll spend the first 50 minutes telling jokes about baseball first. EXTREMELY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. TAKE THIS GUY EVEN IF YOU DON'T NEED PHYSICS FOR YOUR MAJOR. HE'S AWESOME.
More non-physics majors, this class is an easy, painless natural science credit. Millazzo clearly and simply explains basic astro-physics is a way that everyone can understand. His jokes aren't great but he is an understanding professor and makes the hour and fifteeen go by quickly. His tests are a little tough and attendance is a must.
Hard to get an A. Easy to get a B. Didn't learn too much but had a great time listening to his stories.
Not recommended if you're not very good at physics already. Felt like he never applied whatever was taught to an actual problem. Was never clear on how to apply it to a problem which made the experience in this class more difficult that it already was. Funny guy though.
God he makes me so badly want to change my major to Physics. One of the best teachers at UCCS. Very funny, gets distracted easily and goes into "story time", yet his stories are hilarious. He made going to class worth it.
This class was super boring. The professor is very nice, but it seems like the problems he does in class are never on the test. There's homework every week which is 10% of your grade. He never knows anyone's grade until the very end of the semester which is a hassle.
Sam is an extremely funny and smart teacher. He does tend to go on tangents, but no one complains because they're all funny stories. The homework and test are hard, but doing the homework will help. Overall the class is enjoyable and I don't plan on this being the only course of his I take.
Awesome professor only been in class 2 weeks and am very impressed. Manages to grab and peak students interest in material. I have found myself wanting more after class and doing research on my own. Humorous and enlightening. No exams taken yet so I have no feedback regarding his test methods or their difficulty. JUST IMPRESSSED!!!
He is a VERY fun teacher and you'll enjoy his class immensely! Physics is a hard subject and he tries really hard to make you think it's easy! His tests aren't too bad but attendance in class, though not mandatory, is helpful. I'll be taking him again for Astronomy and Physics II.
grades test very easily, and is very entertaining in class
Sam is a hilarious guy with really interesting stories. I found the class challenging at first, but it's getting easier as I adjust to his teaching style. My only issue with his teaching is that sometimes he'll say important things but won't write them down, so they don't get written in my notes and then I look back at the notes and get confused.
He rambles about random but very interesting things! :) I liked him as a professor. You have to try to get less than a B. He allows note cards on every exam and has a take home exam. All exam questions are questions from homework that is assigned. Take this professor!!
This professor is easy. He rambles in class and doesn't follow schedules or a syllabus at all. He often gets very off topic in class and talking about random things not related to class material. Allows notecards on tests though and is an easy grader. Also only grades homework on effort.
Sam likes to ramble off and tell random stories. If you have not taken Physics before, this class could be hard for you. You pretty much have to teach yourself Physics. He allows note cards on exams. If you have taken Physics before, you shouldn't struggle in his class but if you haven't, It's going to be difficult.
Before taking this class I had a pretty strong interest in physics but had never taken a physics class in my life. I didn't learn much, I felt that the professor did not give me the tools necessary to solve the problems. He wasted a lot of class time. I read the book but struggled to learn on my own. He might have been good before, but not now.
Sam is AMAZING! Physics in science fiction is super easy and interesting. We didn't have any homework or readings in the class. It's a class you actually want to show up for because Sam just makes it that darn interesting.
Milazzo is a wonderful professor. Though attendance isn't mandatory, everyone goes because he makes class interesting! I can honestly say I've learned more in his class than any other class this year. I would highly recommend him and can't wait to take his other classes!!!
Awesome!!! He's so funny and knows how to get people interested and make difficult subjects easier to understand. Since he doesn't use a textbook for this class, going to class is important if you want to get the information. Also use the study guide he posts on his outbox!!! I will be taking classes from him again.
Milazzo is a pretty cool dude! He usually has some pretty interesting stories so its like History + Physics which makes it so much more bearable! He's a pretty easy grader, draw pictures and always attempt his problems. If you do that, you'll get outta there with a B for sure!
Milazzo is great. Really funny. I had little interest in physics before this class, but am now strongly considering it. He's funny, and makes thing's interesting by explaining real world examples. He's the easiest grader I've ever had in my college career. I learned a decent amount, but if he were a little harder i might have learned a bit more.
This is such an awesome class! and he knows exactly what hes talking about plus he is super funny!
I had Milazzo for Astronomy and really enjoyed the class. WARNING though, there is no book used and he only gives three tests; no assignments, no extra credit. All you can do is take really good notes, which means you MUST make every class. I did text and e-mail him questions twice and he never responded. Other than that, a really fun class!!
The lectures are easy to listen to and easy to follow during class. Very knowledgeable person
Dr Sam is great
Milazzo as a person is great, hes funny and interesting. Having said that, as a teacher he is no good. He gets distracted easily and rambles on about nothing in particular. His classes are laid back but his tests are very hard. Doesn't give a proper sample of tests. Not recommended to people just wanting to pass. Doesn't respond to emails too...
Interesting teaching style. Tests are fairly simple, he is a very generous grader. As long as you attempt the problems you will get as least half credit. Not extremely necessary to attend class.
Milazzo gets through the material pretty briefly, like you would learn more if you read the text. Pretty good about answering questions clearly. My favorite part about this class is the funny personal stories he has to share to make the class enjoyable as well as fun and relatable physics topics that we see in everyday life.
Milazzo is hilarious. He gets off topic a lot! Sometimes I felt like going to class was a gamble because he either had a great, clear lecture, or a long (really funny) story to tell which didn't help at all. Only 4 tests, and grades on partial credit. Do the homework, and you're golden. Just wish he lectured the material more.
Professor Milazzo makes learning Physics really fun. He likes to joke around and enjoy class. I used my book only for homework problems. There are only 3 tests and a final so test grades are critical. He is not too hard of a grader but going to class and doing homework pays off.
Super great professor. He gives fun lectures, and the material is easy. For me, it seemed absolutely mind blowing how easy the tests were compared to the homework problems. Homework is graded with a random selection of problems, so do all of it just in case.
Sam is a lot of fun. I would get drinks with him. When it comes to physics... I would avoid him like the plague. Too bad that's hardly an option. For anyone that Needs physics for the MCAT you will leave this course knowing none at all. Tests are a breeze but ONLY due to having sample problems that are identical. AVOID Sam if you want to learn!
He will teach you so much, and is a really intelligent guy. Lectures are really interesting! and hilarious.
I barely cared last semester, I care even less this one. It's pointless to go to class because he teaches (sometimes) for 15minutes then kind of trails off. So glad I'll never take another physics course (or any course taught by Milazzo) again! HIs only saving graces are he's hilarious and he is the king of partial credit!
Milazzo is hilarious, but that's his only redeeming quality. Every day he'll teach physics (write down a few formulas with minimal explanation) for about 5-15 minutes and then spend the other hour of class rambling on about some tangent. Tests are easy and he is a very generous grader. Want an A? Take him. Need to learn physics for the MCAT? AVOID.
Some people say that they do not learn anything in his class but equations do not equal knowledge. He is incredible and shares many great stories. There is a lot of talk of the history and real life applications of physics which can be interesting. Beware; messing up on one test might cost you as the entire course is only 300 points (3 tests).
Awesome prof. Class was always entertaining and informative even if the info was not particularly relevant to work. Not exactly the most helpful prof in class, but if you asked after class, he was always happy to help and did an excelent job of doing it. Had him several times, and homework was always easy and sometimes graded on participation only.
Genuinely an interesting professor and course. Easy to approach and converse with.
There are only 3 tests given on Scantrons that are about 30 questions long. He does not use a book, but his lectures are entertaining. If you are not a great tester, then I would take another professor for this course because there are not any other assignments to balance out your grade.
Sam is one of the best professors I have encountered in UCCS, I read the other reviews and please don't blame the professor for your inability to take MCAT, there were 5 of us who took Physics with Sam and yes we are all doctors now thank you.
Great funny teacher that loves what he does which is to teach. Breaks down conplicated problems to easy to understand concepts. Too bad he doesnt teach more classes
very easy class, just take good notes and you will be fine!
The only grades you will have are the 4 exams. Gives homework but doesn't grade it. Do the homework or you will not pass, the exams are based on the homework. Come to lectures and take notes because a lot of the answers for the test will be given in class. Listen to his stories, they are hilarious and you will learn so many things!
I did not like Milazzo at all. his algebra based classes might be a joke, but you have to work for your grade in his calc based physics classes. He spent 15 minutes discussing physics, the rest of the time wasting our time - multiple choice were easy, his long questions were hard and he did not prepare us in doing these problems. MUST SELF LEARN
i emailed this guy several times this semester and he only answered me once. he has bad office hour times and the one time I go during office hours he wasnt there. he didnt use blackboard. never uploaded a syllabus. also he has a bit of a macho man personality. if you can handle that then your good
Wow, great guy!
So. Milazzo definitely had his faults, and by faults, I mean the final grade was the average of 3 exams. Warning, don't try to talk to him outside of class, he'll ignore you. He is a hilarious lecturer, but doesn't end up teaching information necessary for the exam. He makes up for that by giving wicked easy exams, partial credit saved my grade.
Milazzo is a super funny guy. He doesn't have a textbook, and his tests are based solely on lecture. There are only 3 tests in the gradebook, and no homework, which is awesome if you're good at the subject. If you're not good at the subject, then this will be difficult, because your entire grade is based solely on the tests.
One of the hardest classes I've taken in my life.
Milazzo is the kinda guy you'd want to have a beer with; not take a class with. The students that pass with an A are the ones that study from previous students' exams. The awarded/deducted points make no sense; as if he gets lazy while grading. He's unapproachable. Lecture is story time; homework (not graded) is pointless. Find previous exams
Milazzo was suuuupper fun and really engaging. You must put in a lot of individual work if you want to get a solid A. He is super cute though which is a bonus. :)
He makes good jokes and tells stories. It is random when he will give a lecture or if he will just tell a story and waste your time. Many students in my class show up in the first twenty minutes then leave. Try asking him questions about the material often in the lectures and get help from tutors. Otherwise get a different professor.
Milazzo is funny and tells great stories but if you are in class to learn physics, you should take calc based or a different prof. He does assign homework, but it's not mandatory. the only grades you receive are on the exams, and it is never clear when you are actually taking the exams. Very unorganized, and doesn't explain problems well when asked
Really engaging and funny professor helped keep my interest in the subject
Your grade is based on 4 tests and that is it. Take good notes on the stuff he writes down. He is funny and goes off on tangents a lot. He assigns homework from a really expensive book, but I never did it and I still passed. Sit in the front row, tell him jokes, and make sure he knows your face.
Never responds to emails in a timely manner so if you are going to miss an exam make sure he knows at least a week in advance in person and by email or he has no sympathy. Doesn't use blackboard so you'll know your grade when it's posted in the portal at the end of semester. Goes on tangents that can last the entire class.
You won't pass this class if you don't attend every lecture. He's a funny professor and entertaining. However, if you want to reach him via email make sure to at least know you won't be hearing back for 4-7 days. You only have 4 exams, no homework, which is nice. Although, you need to attend every class in order to pass.
You can skip all of his classes and just go to the review days. He is super laid back and really funny. Find somebody that took his class before and use their exams, find past exams and you can pass the class easily with a B, minimum. Physics one and two was one of the easiest classes I have ever taken.
Milazzo likes to go on a tangent, and a lot of his jokes get lost in translation, or are just plain bad. No textbook, but you're only graded on tests, so don't take this class if you aren't a good test taker. The biggest upset for me was that he likes to spend a majority of his time degrading and insulting other majors and sciences. Not very kind.
Sam knows his stuff, but he isn't always great at teaching it. 80% of his lectures are stories and jokes, and he is quite entertaining and honestly a lot of fun to listen to and watch, but you have to be real for that 20% of the time when he is actually gonna teach. Do homework problems and you'll do well on the tests. He loves partial credit.
Mr. Milazzo is AWESOME. Hands down, one of the best instructors at UCCS. He is hilarious, down to earth, knowledgeable, and kind. He tells lots of stories about his life. I've learned more in this class than I've learned in many other classes combined. Exams are easy if you do the homework.
There's no text book (Astro 1). All the questions for the exams come from the lecture. If you think he's just going on a tangent, pay attention because there will probably be exam questions from that "tangent"... the first exam will scare you but after you know his teaching style he really isn't that bad. I actually enjoyed the class.
Milazzo is a very knowledgeable professor. However, during lectures he often goes off topic and rants about random things. He is funny and personable. He grades easy and gives lots of partial credit on exams. Your grade is solely based off of exam grades.
Avoid Milazzo at all costs. He puts in zero effort and his tests are designed to be confusing.
As you can probably tell from all the reviews, you'll either love him or you'll hate him. I happen to love him. He's a smart bloke who is good at teaching, he just happens to be more interested in telling you funny stories and teaching you things that are not physics sometimes. His tests aren't too bad. If you put in the work you should do okay.
Prof Milazzo is very entertaining. We only had two graded papers based on material wed discussed in class (this made me nervous). Hes very knowledgeable and funny, but not a class for physics majors.
The professor has a very energetic lecture style, full of detailed information regarding the topic laced w/ jokes. His personal experience really adds to this, which is sometimes reflected on the tests. He does not take attendance, but because of the details, skipping class a lot can hurt your grade. Take lots of notes during lectures are the key.
Milazzo would rather tell stories than actually teach. Majority of lectures are filled with stories. Doesn't really say what will be on tests, so it can be difficult when he doesn't teach anything at all. Isn't really prepared for lectures, just opens the book and starts randomly writing things down. Lectures spent deriving formulas from the book.
Milazzo is a very entertaining instructor but does not really prepare you for tests. You won't understand anything conceptually but will know how to do algebra by the end of Physics with him. BUT you'll learn about lots of useful things, such as cat physics, cloud formations, and the life story of Isaac Newton!
Milazzo is not prepared for lectures and does not teach to the curriculum.
Millazos teaching style is not for everyone. Lectures doesnt really make sense at all. He will just write formulas from the book without working with any real numbers or situations. This class is concurrent with Calculus 1 but he will teach you formulas with integrals which you wont take until Calculus 3. Online class is better than this class.
Milazzo is the worst professor Ive ever had. Takes 4+ weeks to grade and return exams. Cancels class randomly and goes of topic nearly every lecture.
This class was very easy, there were only three tests and he made the last one optional. While he does go off topic sometimes, his stories are very interesting and he explains physics very well. If you do the homework problems and go to the review day this class is okay.
Grades very few things. Homework once a week. A small test every few weeks, and the midterm. Amazing lectures that made learning about physics fun.
IF YOU'RE PRE-MEDICINE DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE. With physics on the MCAT I'd highly recommend just taking calculus-based physics with another instructor. If you're adamant about taking algebra-based physics then take it online or at a nearby community college. You won't learn anything from this guy, ended up entirely self-teaching.
Mr. Milazzo is AMAZING! I have never learned so many cool facts in a class. Hes funny and nifty and very clear with what he expects from the class. I would take him 100x over again, just to hear his stories. He has a passion for physics and it truly shows in his classes. Three exams throughout the semester (you get a notecard for each).
Dr. Milazzo is amazing. He's super goofy but brilliant at the same time. He's very generous with points and honestly just wants to see you try on his exams. He wants you to draw the picture to start and even if you get it wrong, he will at least give you 14 points on that problem. I absolutely guarantee you will do well! Gives off grandpa vibes.
Not thrilled with Milazzo's teaching. If you have a natural talent for physics or are good at self-teaching you'll survive. But as someone who needs material taught to me, I struggled in this class. His stories are fantastic, but I can honestly say I hardly learned any physics. Also, the final is a joke don't even try it unless you're desperate.
The grade is based almost entirely on 2 tests and the final. If you get easily stressed about tests, I wouldn't recommend Milazzo. Classes are fun and you won't find yourself sleeping, but often won't find yourself learning the needed material. Extra reading on your own is needed to pass without previous physics understanding.
Sam was super funny and made learning about astronomy super fun. The class is grade solely on 3 tests, but personally I don't think they were super hard. Attendance isn't mandatory but he covers a lot of information each day, so I highly recommend going to every class. Sam was super great and so was his class.
Sam is one of the funniest professors I've ever had. His lectures can be confusing at times and reading the textbook is usually required to understand anything. However, he makes physics extremely fun and explains real life applications to all of the concepts. His class is fairly difficult, but overall extremely enjoyable.
Definitely one of my favorite professors I had this semester. Physics 2 is a tough class but he explains the concepts fairly well. You'll definitely have to do the homework and read the textbook to do well. As other people have said, Sam is also extremely funny and makes learning physics fun. I had a great time in his class and I learned a lot!
Sam has the funniest and most engaging lectures by any professor I've ever had by far! With that being said, he loves to tell stories (which are super interesting and hilarious). However, his storytelling tendencies make it to where I personally feel we didn't dive deep enough into the material. Overalll, a very solid dude and professor!
This class, Intro to Astronomy, was online because of COVID. I loved his lectures and learned a lot. However your grade is only based on 3 tests sometimes with questions based on minor details from lecture, so take good notes. No textbook required.
Sam is by far the best Physics teacher ever! His lectures are amazing and he does a great job explaining concepts. Whats on the homework is on the test, so if you dont know how to do the homework I recommend getting help from the math center or looking on slader to see how you should approach it. The tests are 30% of your grade each!
He goes off topic a lot and often overloads his students with information. There's just too much information and tangents. Favorite word to say is Right?
The lectures were fun, but only because he talked more about stories than physics. I learned everything myself and didn't learn anything in class. My classmates taught me more than the professor and I had never taken a physics class before, so it was really hard. His only redeeming quality was that he gave points back on tests.
kinda gave up, just boring in the way he teaches. goes off topic a lot and is hard to follow sometimes. He's a great person and very funny, but just not something id enjoy attending again. ALSO, he grades very very late, he didn't put any grades in until finals week.
By far the bets professor I ad that semester. He didn't follow and read of of PowerPoint slides, hand out packets, or require a textbook. Everyday was a lecture, but he made it interesting and engaging.
He would be an incredible history teacher, but he doesnt care about our class much because were not physics majors. Which sucks because a hes passionate. He teaches super advanced stuff and tests simple so youre thrown off. He says stuff hes going to put on the test, and then doesnt. Instead of assigning textbook problems he should make them.
The whole class was based on three exams which were on scantrons. If this is not your thing or you aren't a good test taker I would steer clear of him for this class. I am not a great test taker and so I will admit that this class was not great for my GPA because of the entire class grade being an average of the three exams.
Professor Milazzo is a very passionate teacher. But this class is very lecture heavy. No books are needed. Your grade is based on only three tests that are in-person on scantrons. No homework, but attending all the lectures is essential because this is your only way to get information for the tests. Besides that, he is a great professor!
Milazzo is not for everyone. His course is based of of tests alone, which sucks. He made the material fun and easy to grasp. He is very fast, and explains topics and then procedures to go over problems involving the concepts. So, even though you do not need to attend the lectures, if you dont it is unlikely you will pass the test.
Dont take this class if you dont have to. i took it to satisfy a requirement, the tests suck and theres no material to study off of. the study guides he gives you barely include everything on the test. Theres no homework only 3 tests that decide your grade
Great lectures and makes concepts very easy to understand. That said he only grades on 3 or 4 tests per semester so if test taking isn't your strong suit you may want to find another professor.
Milazzo should've been a history teacher. The entire semester was based on three grades. The homework rarely helps and going to lecture felt like a waste of time. Yes, he tries to make it funny. Does that help your grade? No. If you're not good at tests avoid this prof like the plague.
I am so sorry that anyone is forced to take this professor because he is the only choice. He doesn't teach, just rambles the whole time. The only way to pass this class is to skip class and teach yourself because he won't teach you anything. And if you do have an option, pick literally anyone else or take calc and go to a calc based physics.
Difficult personality to work with, would not recommend.
Milazzo is a very nice and caring professor. Although you have to teach yourself a lot of the time, is the sweetest guy and will help you if you ask. Your grade is only 3 tests so you have to do the homework and study. He is also very funny and will tell you stories and jokes during class. You should go even though attendance is not mandatory.
Milazzo is so fun! Get ready for history with a side of Physics. Notecards are allowed on exams and the only use of the textbook is for homework. Even though it isn't graded it is really good for review before an exam as they are often similar questions to what are on the exam. He will accommodate you if you cannot make it to a scheduled exam time
For physics 1&2 he turns it into a history class. The 3 lectures he has a week are unnecessary, he assigns homework but doesn't grade it, he doesn't use canvas or upload lectures, and when you ask for an explanation on the board, he does the bare minimum. He's a nice guy and the only pros for him are that he grades work on tests.
Milazzo's class is a mixed bag - you'll need to be proactive and use resources like unstuck study alongside the textbook to succeed. Funny lectures, but expect to teach yourself a lot of the material.
Milazzo made lectures interesting, but he didn't teach us what to was on tests. Homework is not graded, nothing is uploaded in canvas, and he never plugs numbers into the equations that he teaches. You will learn from the textbook and YouTube. Your grade will be the average of 3 test scores. At least you get a 70 on every test as long as you try.
Be prepared to teach yourself the content. His lectures have very little to do with physics.
Great guy, but bad professor. Lectures are more random history lessons than physics, so be prepared to teach yourself absolutely everything. Exams were difficult, but he gave a lot of partial credit for just attempting the questions. Homework is given but not graded in any way so your grade is the average of the 4 unit tests.
