he has his own website and cd...i recommend listening to it. the class isn't bad either.
TEACHES WELL. I LEANRED ALOT. EXPLAINS WELL AND GIVES GOOD NOTES. I JUST DISLIKED LIKED HIS CELEBRITY ATTITUDE AND I THOUGHT HIS WEBSITE WITH PERSONAL INFO WAS A BIT WIERD.
I had him for West Discovers the World. I normally hate history, but I learned a bit in his class, and the lectures were quite interesting, the discussions weren't as much. The exams were a bit hard, he required quite a bit of information
Sam Mustafa is one of the best teachers I had.. I've had him for Western Studies, Age of Napoleon, West Discovers the World and am taking him for German History this coming fall. He REALLY enjoys what he does, you can tell that just by his lectures. :)
Professor Mustafa is the best professor that I have has in my four years here. He is one of the main reasons for why I enjoy history so much. Take him every chance you get!
He is the best Western Studies II teacher out there. I am not a history major but he makes me want to be. I have been here for 4 years and easily the top professor I have had.
REALLY good prof, friendly and really into history, is always willing to help or explain.
Wonderful teacher, wonderful man, wonderful wit, i'm sorry i only got to take one class with him. It's a shame he's married too! I reccomend his class to everyone.
The best history teacher ever. I learned so much in his class (West discovers the World). He taught it in such a way that really makes everything so clear. Wonderful teacher!
SOOOOOOO EASY
condescending
So knowledgible about his subject matter. Explains the material very well and is very intersting. Great teacher.
Excellent teacher. Very knowledgeable. Nice guy. Hates TV...
He is not an understanding man.He does not care about peoples futures.
Is a very good teacher, explains things clearly and his quizes are easy and straight from the notes. The book isn't really needed, he is however a tough grader on his reports.
He is a great teacher! I actually pay attention in his class because he is a good teacher and makes everything interesting! Even though you have to work a little, he is very reasonable. I definitly reccomend him!
I've taken every class Dr. Mustafa has taught at Ramapo, he is WONDERFUL. Such an intelligent man, he's really passionate about what he teaches. Has been here since 2001. He's not EASY, but a fair grader, DEFINITELY WORTH TAKING.
THE best teacher you could possibly have. I'm not even a history person but he made me LOVE the class. He is knowledgable, passionate about students' learning, and gives great lectures. AMAZING TEACHER!!!!!!!! Definitely take him. A+++++++++
WOW! HOW AMAZING WAS THIS CLASS? I ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE OF IT AND LEARNED SO MUCH. I could do without the class discussions, they got to be annoying, but otherwise, the class was nice. Samy= Enjoyable :)
so easy if you pay attention in class, and his class is easy to pay attention in, he makes it really interesting...take him for World Civ if possible!!
Great professor. He makes the class very intersting. If u take good notes, you will do well on the tests. I would highly recomand him.
Awesome teacher. Makes you happy you are in college. Best teacher at Ramapo by far. Very organized and makes the subject very interesting. Very smart man. He is a pleasure to listen to. Highly Recommended!!!!
Fantastic structure and clarity to his lectures. Fair and regularly scheduled tests to ensure understanding. Goes out of his way to be available for students seeking help. Recommended for history majors and non-majors.
absolutly FANTASTIC teacher. Makes history so interesting, so long as you take good notes you will do well on tests. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ANY CLASS!
Mustafa is amazing and absolutely can make the biggest hater of history want to come to class every day. Not to mention the fact that he is also very easy on the eyes. But seriously, he wants everyone to do well and really cares about your learning.
VERY INTERESTING & EDUCATED MAN. Love going to his class. Take good notes and you will do very very well
He is the best history professor i've had. i am not a history major and i loved him. very helpful, and knowledgeable on his subject. he is funny, his classes are interesting, and as long as you take good notes and study for his tests, they are very fair.
Mustafa is a great professor and very knowledgable in his field. he clarifies hard-to-grasp concepts so we can understand. he grades fairly and his tests are not hard if u take notes. and he'll know everyone's name in the class by the second day!
Excellent professor, knows just about everything. Very understanding, and you learn a lot. The final looks like it's going to be a killer, though.
He is an amazing teacher. Makes learning fun and easy. Take him if you want to make learning about history not so terrible.
Excellent professor in all regards. Great lectures, not too hard but not too easy, and he is always willing to help. Makes you look forward to class.
He is a great prof, makes EVERYTHING interesting, good sense of humor and extremely intelligent. The only class that I have ever been awake for at 830 AM, really looking forward to another class with him in the fall.
I liked him and his class up until i got a c in it. I never got a bad grade on any test and thought I aced the final, it really pisses me off.
He is an extremely interesting and intelligent prof.He can make growing grass exciting. This is the second class ive had w/ him and would take another in a heartbeat.Only problem is the primary sources which you have to go off campus to get, but even that is an interesting trip.
The man epitomizes what a teacher should be. He is extremely smart and knowledgeable. His teaching techniques are phenomenal and effective. Truly a master. I am currently in law school and his challenges and insight have carried me through. While at Ramapo, I was fortunate to take him four time
AWESOME PROFESSOR! This prof is hands down the best professor I took at Ramapo. He's extremely smart and actually CARES about the topic and his students. His teaching style is phenomenal-he could teach anything to anyone. I hated history before i took him, now i have a minor in it!
A really nice guy. He is a good teacher. makes class interesting. there are ALOT of group discussions. He is very helpful. Quizzes can be tricky. But overall a good teacher, I definitly recommend him. He cares about his students
great professor...and he is very very hoooottttttttt......

Mustafa is awesome, very knowledgable, intersting lectures, very helpful.... loved his classes.... recommend him to all your friends!!! He's tough, but not unreasonable and his expectations are achievable
Horrible teacher hands down.everytime i turn around this guy is giving out another map or fact quiz, if you hate studying don't take.He has a really monotone, soft voice, i miss half the stuff he says bc of it. He has retarded debates, what can i say the guys a freakin nerd.Very unclear, unfairborin
Good teacher, one of the better history teachers i have ever had, knows the subject and time period very well. instead of a midterm and final, you get 2 map quizzes and 6 fact quizzes, you also have one 10 page paper which is pretty strictly graded, but not hard. the final is 2 take home essays
Just don't try to BS him because he has the ability to be a jerk. Otherwise, he is very nice and informative.
Pretty interesting class, Professor Mustafa's a really nice guy, and makes everything pretty easy to understand. I didn't actually have to study for any of the fact quizzes...as long as I went to the classes they were on. I'd definately recommend taking one of his classes if you have to take a history class.
He teaches way too much info at once and expects you to remember the little factoids that he may mention during the lesson. Studying hard does not always help on his quizes.
Best history professor I've had so far! All you have to do is take good notes and you'll do fine on the fact quizzes. Participation is 20% of your grade- great way to boost your grade if you're not a good test taker. Gives interesting lectures. I recommend him if you're not a history major.
I took this class because I heard it was easy..but it's not! Fact Quizzes are on little subjects that were barely touched upon in class. He talks really fast so it's hard to take good notes. Had to participate in EVERY discussion to get a decent grade on participation.

I hate history, but I loved mustafa. I am terrible about remembering things and learning history, but if you tell him that and you put fourth the effort to do well, you'll be okay. He let me re-do my papers and helped me learn what to study on for the qu
I wish every professor taught like this guy. Amazing individual, his class is easy, just pay attention, be active, and you should have no problem getting a A. He makes that material intersting and made me want to come to his 8am class, I got an A and I am a SLACKER, take him.

He's a great lecturer...you'll learn a lot...and the quizzes are easy.
Best Professor at Ramapo...Period. He made me want to wake up and attend an 8:05 class. He makes topics interesting and you learn a LOT. Once you attend class regularly and take good notes you'll get an A. I wish Mustafa taught every subject...
This man is pretty much the greatest man on earth. Not only does he know how to teach a class...he makes sure you guys enjoy it. Never boring or difficult to approach or talk with. Assignments are good and quizzes are fine. Just study what he gives you and youll def. get an A...i did...keep at it sammy
Mustafa is the MAN...he made history INTERESTING..there's quizzes that replace a midterm -they're EASY just study the key words..final was essays he gave to us ahead of time, you lead a group discussion once but you just ask the class a question, he offers extra credit at the end of the semester too. He is the best history professor TAKE HIM
Mustafa is plain amazing. He is extremely intelligent and knows how to keep the attention of the class. He expects you to do the readings and participate in class discussions which really aren't that bad. It would be a shame if you graduated from Ramapo and never got to experience Mustafa. Take him.
Worst teacher ever the man is arragant and pompous, worked really hard and class and still did poorly did not help at all! quizes hard
nice guy.. BUT hard grader, specially on the FINAL. fact and map quizes were ok, kinda easy. Keeps class interesting. participation is a must.
HE IS A MAJOR TOOL!!!
I'm not even done with the class yet and I'm giving him a 5. quizzes are straight from your notes and map quiezzes are straight from the page he gives you to study from. you have to be an idiot to fail, and the class is so interesting.I'm not even a history major and i want to take another class with him. He's an awesome prof.
This class certainly wasn't easy, but it was SO interesting. Mustafa is a great professor, very interesting lecturer and the Arab League simulation was great. No tests, just short quizzes. BUT, he is a hard-ass for format on papers. Can take you down an entire letter grade just on format so BE CAREFUL. Great class though, actually enjoyed lectures!
>World Civ II (VERY EASY CLASS)a bunch of quizzes (fact and map) plus a final all that come from the notes. >Historiography was more focused on the getting into history writing mode for college and understanding the historian's world, boring class (but he's still awesome) and relatively easy (just do your work and ask for help if you need it)
Good guy, loves his job, has good stories, go to the SI sessions for extra help and you will be golden. Have class discussions about once a week; you sit in a circle and talk about articles, participate and that will boost your grade up. Good professor for world civ.
The Best professor ever!! GO TO SIs, do well on quizes, and u should be fine!! nd he is so cute!! love him!!
This man is a genius. He legitimately KNOWS the subject and is passionate about it. I learned so much in this class. Here's the lowdown: 4 fact quizzes based off of lectures with ten short answer questions. One 20 page paper on any subject relating to Germany. Final Exam. VERY HARD GRADER! Must attend class, but you will learn so much
BESIDES THIS PROFESSOR BEING HOTTT IN HIS OWN WAY (MOST GIRLS IN MY CLASS HAD A CRUSH) HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING AND IF YOU TAKE NOTES YOU WONT NEED TO BUY THE BOOKS. BASICALLY IF U ATTEND CLASS YOU WILL BE GOOD... THE QUIZES ARE ALL, TRUST ME ALL BASED ON NOTES. SO TAKE NOTES. OH AND PARTICIPATE IN CLASS. I GOT A B+ AND HISTORY IS NOT MY SUBJECT
Omg Deff the best Professor i have ever had. go to SI it will really help with the quizes. as long as you show up to class and participate you'll be fine!
This man is probably the best professor in Ramapo's history department without question. He's knows his stuff, is extremely passionate about what he teaches, and on top of that his classes are really interesting. He's a pretty funny, casual guy too.
Dr. Mustafa is the most knowledgeable professor at Ramapo. He knows what he's talking about and he is able to teach it so well. His class is by no means easy (you will have to read and write quite a bit) but it is so worth it because you will learn so much.
Greatest history professor ever! He made learning fun and interesting. Take him, you won't regret it. He is nice to look at too!
You have to really stay on top of things to do well in this guy's class, but it's worth it cause you end up learning a lot. He's a tough grader on the papers, but I got a 'D' on my paper and still pulled off a 'B' in the class. So all is not lost if, like me, you suck at research papers.
Most memorable class I ever took. Was a tough, but taught me how to think outside the box. I only got a B in the class but I took sooo much from it.
Such a hard class, but I learned a lot. Study for every quiz cause the points really matter although they don't seem like much in the beginning of the semester. The way he lectures is great and pretty easy to follow.
I loved this class. I really learned a lot. He has about five fact quizzes and map quizzes. NO exams except the final. NO essays. He assigns some reading and you have class discussions on it. just read and ask a few questions and youll be fine. I really recommend taking him.
Easily one of the best professors teaching at Ramapo. Learned so much from the class, but you must be willing to work. Attend the classes, and do the readings, and you will be fine though. This is one of the professors at Ramapo that really makes you want to become a history major.
Take him for historiography. He began the course and is the best one to take it with. Strict, but very helpful and you learn tons!
Amazing prof., but he is not easy. Do the work and do it right and you will succeed! :)
GENERAL MUSTAFA WILL LEAD US TO VICTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had him for World War I, as well as World Civ I. Best teacher I have ever had. The man's a genius, but not some crazy, socially awkward, stupid genius (if that makes any sense). Excellent lectures. If you have a legitimate interest in the subject matter of any class he's offering, there's no better professor to take.
Easily the best history professor I've ever had. Absolutely brilliant.
Prof. Mustafa was the most challenging and most rewarding professor I have ever had. He is tough with grading, but, if you make a genuine effort to know the topic and to submit well-written work, you can do well.
Best Professor, Hands down. I'm overloading next semester just to be in his class again. Dude's clear and willing to help you. Very interesting, first class Ive never slept in once. Keeps thing interesting and work is fair. Easy A if you work for it. Highly Recommended.
If you would like to take the boringest class of your life, sign up for this class. It is 24/7 lecture on stuff no one should care about. Don't let the easiness fool you, I got straight A's for the first year and this was my lone B. The required journals are graded very harsh and there was not one day I didn't dread attending class. Thumbs down!
I don't know why he has such great ratings. This was the worst class I have ever taken. I failed miserably and I'm a straight A student. The lectures were never ending and the quizzes were that much harder then trying to comprehend everything you heard during the lecture. Do not take him.
Obviously the person below was slacking off in the course unless you were in one of his harder upper level courses. If you are an incoming freshman and need to take a history, take professor Mustafa for World Civilizations. The man is brilliant, compassionate, and handsome. No final, just an essay that he will give you the question. Best at Ramapo.
Take him for historiography if you can. He expects a lot out of you, and does not hand out A's but is very helpful and quick to get back to emails. I learned so much from him and regret not taking more of his regular history courses.
My favorite class this semester. Low workload, just four quizzes which add up to one test and a final paper. Participation counts for a lot too so participate in the discussions. Seriously, he's an awesome teacher. I had him for a three hour class and it flew by. Definitely recommend him.
Brilliant man. He used a completely different style than other professors. There were powerpoint based lectures, which were always interesting. The rest were class discussions on whatever reading material was assigned. It built an amazing sense of camaraderie and respect between us students. Awesome teacher, I'm taking him until I graduate.
Dr. Mustafa is an awesome person. He is very passionate about history which makes learning the topic fun. The 4 quizzes are based off his lectures and he only expects the answers in one sentence. I absolutely recommend his class.Don't get me wrong, it is a lot of work, but well worth it. The fact that he's a great guy doesn't hurt either.
One word: AWESOME
He's great! SO CLEAR! I hated History before I had him.. He makes everything interesting and I really enjoy his class! TAKE HIM! He's my favorite professor at Ramapo
Genius. He does lectures as power points. This man clearly knows what hes talking about. Tests and map quizes were so easy just actually study a little. Class was so informative and coincided with other classes to. Got me really interested in human history. Very highly recommend one of the best in the business.
Brilliant man who breathes passion into history.Teaches you with different methods: powerpoints, film, discussions, readings. You better like speaking in discussions though because it counts for a lot. Quizzes tested minor details in lecture,so were kinda hard! Final was 3 essays.Low workload overall, but you will have to work hard for a good grade.
Very clear with lectures and what is expected on tests. quizzes are easy but look over your notes. supplemental instruction was available and DEFINITELY helped. textbook was just an atlas for map quizzes but y'know, google, so you really don't need it. pretty laid back guy too. if you need a his or even if you dont, take his class
History is not my favorite subject but World Civ was a great class. Mustafa is very clear and teaches only in lecture style. Class discussions are important, so must read the material. His map and fact quizzes were very easy if you go to the review sessions. One big paper and one final. Mustafa is a really great guy so take him for a history gen ed
Gives lectures (not monotoned; uses humor). Quizzes are based off of facts in the lecture or on a map. The quizzes are usually every other week. Several class discussions on readings (participation is important). No midterm. Final is 2 essays written in class (gives you essay questions to study weeks before final). Attendance is mandatory.
GREAT PROFESSOR! YOU WOULDN'T REGRET HAVING HIS CLASS! GETS STRAIGHT TO THE POINT OF WHAT HE'S TEACHING AND LETS YOU OUT EARLY. ALSO THE QUIZZES ARE EASY AS WELL! DO NOT NEED THE TEXTBOOK. BARELY GIVES HW. TALK DURING THE DISCUSSIONS HE LOVES TO JUST SEE YOU READ SOMETHING IF NOT THE WHOLE THING. ALSO NO EXAMS ARE GIVEN!!
Professor Mustafa offers potentially the best teaching style in the history department. The class is dynamic and comprehensive, leaving students feeling like they have learned a great deal after completion. The short weekly readings offer some fantastic class discussions. I definitely recommend taking any class with him that is available!
Professor Mustafa gets right to the point and although he uses PowerPoints, a lot of what he says is important so be sure to take notes! The quizzes are very easy. There's a weekly discussion based on some reading that he posted online so while you do have to participate, the discussions are interesting. Definitely take his class!
There are readings in the textbook and on moodle that have to be completed. You have to read in order to understand the discussions.
Participation is important to him. Readings are very easy and short. a lot of notes from his lectures and then quizzes us on that material. Let us out 25 minutes every class. Extra credit is offered on every quiz and at the end of the semester. Review sessions help. Hes a great teacher and I would definitely recommend his class. Easiest class evr
Greatest professor I have ever had, hardest professor I have ever had. You learn so much, but his higher level courses are tough (we started with 19 kids in our seminar class, we are left with 9 by the end). He expects A LOT, but worth the pain in my opinion. If you want to cruise through it, take Pinaar, if you want to learn and work hard, Mustafa
Mustafa is a great professor, he understands that the class is a gen-ed and doesn't go into too much detail. Pay attention in class and you will do well. Participate in the lectures and do the CEC and it's basically an automatic B+. I really enjoyed him and I would retake him if I could. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK!
Dr. Mustafa is 100% hands down one of the best history professors at this college. I am currently taking his World Civilizations class and I am passing by flying colors. He is a kind man and he will help, IF you ask for it but he also has a student assistant who will be there to help you also. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!!! AMAZING PROFESSOR!!!
Honestly... This class was great. I loved Professor Mustafa. I learned so much in just one semester. If you don't do well on quizzes it's your own fault. 3 map quizzes with 10 places you need to locate. 3 online lecture quizzes.. If u take decent notes you'll be fine. No midterm. The final is an essay got a 90 easy class, yet interesting. must take
I loved him! He was my favorite professor of the semester. I was not a fan of history and loved this class. He is very chill, and doesn't ask for much. MUST TAKE.
Not a history major but took one of his 300 classes and I certainly worked for my grade. I was never uninterested during his lectures. Participation is huge for him. No exams but a long research paper and class discussions. He's a really cool guy but definitely a tough grader on everything. I would take him again in a heartbeat I learned so much
I took this class in my first year at this school, actually this was my first class i ever took at this school, and i would take it again if i had the opportunity to. It was such a great class. The content was a pleasure to learn, not like history classes in High School at all. Professor was a great. Highly recommend this class to anybody.
I don't think Mustafa is a bad professor, but I walked into this class expecting something different. His lecture style is him talking and you writing with some pictures and the occasional video clip on a Powerpoint. He loves discussions so you have to read/talk a lot, and the quizzes are tough. But he knows his stuff and cares about the subject
Age of Napoleon course. He wants the final paper EXACTLY as he says. You work on the paper in parts throughout the semester. If it seems as if you plagiarized he WILL confront you about it so make sure you do everything right if you don't want to fail since it's a big part of the grade or if you don't want to get in huge trouble.
This guy is my all time favorite! Really makes history interesting. Take notes and you should be fine. just be prepared to participate during discussions
This guy is by far the smartest professor Ive had at Ramapo. He loves teaching and he knows his stuff. The class consisted of 4 quizzes a paper at the end of the semester and participation in group discussion. He lectures with some pictures but makes lecture interesting each class usually consists of 6-7 pages of notes which you use to study for.
I love Mustafa but this class only has 4 quizzes so my grade was hurt from that. Participation matters.
Love and hate relationship with Mustafa. The guy is really smart, funny and interesting. Definitely makes the class more interesting. Participation matters- you literally sit in a circle and he marks you down if you talk enough and grades you at end. His word is final. One large paper broken into 3 parts. Not too bad for a 300 level.
Professor Mustafa is such a nice guy. He gives great lectures and is always cracking jokes. Definitely recommend him for any world civ courses. Attendance is mandatory but he makes it worth it.
Dr. Mustafa is a real gem. I am not a history lover, but he made me love history. His lectures are fascinating and class discussions were respectful. He gives out four online quizzes, but they are easy if you take the initiative to go to the extra help sessions.
Mustafa is one of the best professors I've ever had. I learn the most from him and am eager to take more classes with him as he is knowledgeable, eager about the subject and his lectures are not boring, they are full of information that you sort of have to pay attention to.
One of the best professors I've ever had. Lecture style, but at the same time teaches like he's having a conversation with you. Content is interesting and lectures are enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.
Professor Mustafa was possibly the best professor I had this semester. I am not much of a history fanatic (especially not early world civilizations), but he made the class extremely interesting an engaging. 8 discussions throughout the semester which you must participate in and 3 online quizzes which are not hard as long as you take good notes.
Mustafa is the best professor I've had--I went out of my way to take him again for World Civ 2. No weekly quizzes or pop quizzes, everything is on syllabus, he does not use a textbook. However, you need to listen to him as he does not write anything on the slides. It makes you listen, though, so you remember everything while writing it down.
Lectures are fascinating and easy to follow. I have taken him every semester at Ramapo College and I plan to continue to take his classes. Mustafa's voice is so soothing, I 100% recommend taking one of his classes.
Mustafa is the best professor I have had so far. I have had him for two semesters and would want to take more classes with him. I didn't do as well as I hoped in his class, but that was 100% my fault. Great professor and a great man.
Mustafa is a great professor! I took him for a 100 level History class, and he knows so much about every topic! His power points are just pictures though so you have to take notes from his voice, and if you miss class you're screwed. I didn't miss any classes and still didn't do well on his tests because they're that difficult.
Amazing professor. I am always excited to go to his class and listen to his lectures. Work load is very manageable and is very well explained. He is very understanding and lively while teaching. I enjoyed his class so much I can't wait to take other classes of his in the future. He is a must take.
excellent professor/usually lets out a few minutes early/ he has lots of patience since he knows learning a new language takes time/ every exam is online/ get the textbook thru the link he gives you bc otherwise it probably wont be the right one/ final grade is a group translation project, and two online final exams
Professor Mustafa remains to be the most fantastic professor I have ever studied under. I took his class twice after failing to go the first time around. The structure of the class is a short reading, and discussion where participation and understanding of key points are crucial. It was the most fun and well structured class I've ever had.
Amazing professor. Passionate about his lectures and students. Wish I could take his class again!
Most German assignments are due online on the course website. He gives out homework but it is online and it's extremely easy. Sometimes it's incomplete until you get it right. In which, you are given a 100% on that assignment.
Overall I really hate history, and I've always had lower than a C in all of my history classes, but when Dr. Mustafa explained it everything was just so interesting and fun. The discussions were OK, but you have to participate to get a good grade in the end, lectures are very important so definitely pay attention and take good notes.
LOVED him in the beginning. I did ALL the work and got an A on every. single. assignment. Never missed a class and actively listened. I deserved an A... but I did not participate as much as the 3 kids that spoke the whole semester so I got a C. A grade I DIDN'T deserve. When I went to talk to him, he was super unsympathetic. Lost all respect.
Mustafa's German class was not hard at all. Pretty much everyone is participating all the time cause he just randomly chooses students to say things.
I had Mustafa for civilization history and loved him. He was engaging in lectures and was willing to answer any questions. He was always clear when assignments were due and went as far as to remind us. Though we did a reading and discussion every week they were fairly simple(online posting). If I had the chance to take his class again I would.
One of my favorite classes of all time. The subject was extremely interesting. The class consisted of weekly papers, a midterm and final paper. The final and midterm are not directly related to the readings. However, lightly understanding them is important for the weekly papers. Participation matters! Expect to have your ideas discussed. 10/10
Hes an awesome professor and knows exactly what hes talking about but theres only participation, three tests, and a project basically. You need to participate, if you dont like that dont take his class because u will not pass. Other than that hes awesome and Id take his class if you dont mind talking about the subject and doing some work
Professor Mustafa gives simply incredible lectures. He makes the material so interesting and engaging no matter what he's talking about. Class days alternate between lectures and discussions. Discussions aren't hard if you come prepared. Tests are online outside of class and not too hard if you take lots of notes. Papers are easy. Take his classes.
PARTICIPATION MATTERS. As long as you put effort in you will get a good grade. Talk to him about any concerns, he's a great guy.
Wish he understood that writing a list of phrasing he didn't understand in an email bordering on personal vexation is not really helpful, nor encouraging. It felt like he was willing to be mistaken but NOT "wrong". The tone he set via his actions shut down so much of what I wanted to offer as a student. Though he is a good guy I feel. Plain-Sail A
Mustafa is great if you take a 100-level course and have time to spend on short discussion posts. In 200 level course, he is still great, just a little harsher on grading and the amount of time spent (I've been in both class levels). If you love politics in Europe, take it. Mustafa is very knowledgeable and is a great connection to study abroad.
This professor assigned a 500-word essay every week on Monday that was due Thursday which in order to write you need to read two 7-30 page articles, he is very knowledgeable on the topics so it's hard to get away with not reading the whole article. Your entire grade is dependent on 13 essays and 1 research paper.
About every week he would give us 2-4 readings for us to answer in a discussion post, which were not hard. For the group/class discussion, you have to participate because it counts for a large part of your grade. Overall he was nice, knowledgeable, and not a lot of work.
Great prof a lot of work. Not always open to political views that he does not agree with and will lower grades because of it.
This professor is super nice! His lectures are entertaining and he's an all-around nice person to listen to. Participation matters in his class, particularly during in-class discussions. Those days are important because most of your grade is based around this, so be aware of that.
If you stayed on top of things, his class was a breeze. Very lenient for the midterm, historiography essay, and final. All you had to do was try and write it. Lectures were only presented by what he said, very little notes on slides. Knew exactly what he was talking, which helped us to write and take notes correctly.
This class was extremely easy. All assignments are easy if you pay attention to the lectures. Participation is a huge factor for this class, so absolutely participate in group discussions, it does matter for your final grade. Professor Mustafa is very open minded and loves listening to any questions or thoughts you may have on the material.
Great lectures and class discussions. Class is entertaining and work is light.
Absolutely just the most intelligent and respectful professor I have had. Cares deeply about students in the class, easy class format and light homework loads. Projects are very straight forward and fun to do. Tests are simple and easy to prepare for. Lecture are very interesting and never felt redundant. Would 100% take a class again with him.
Honestly the best class ever. Very Nice Guy and the class is only based off a online mid term, online final, 4 discussion questions assignments, 4 simulations and an essay. If you do your work and try you will end up with a good grade. Take his class. Participation is a big thing in his class though.
Professor Mustafa creates an engaging classroom experience. Lectures are informative, and participation is a key component. The workload is manageable, and Unstuck AI proved helpful for efficient study prep. Would recommend this class.
Professor Mustafa is a great professor. He is very nice and his classes are not boring at all. He gives a few assignments which aren't hard at all easy to do and you get a long time to do them. His mid term and final are both take homes and they're 20 questions multiple choice and you get 20 minutes to do them.
He was great! Cares about the students and his lectures are so interesting. He really knows his stuff!
AWESOME PROFESSOR! Definitely take if you need a history gen ed
Professor Mustafa is an amazing guy and very chill. The grades are mostly around one small essay and participation. There were two exams which was one for the midterm and for the final which was decently easy and only 20 minutes online. His lectures are pretty easy but you should take some notes for the exams. He will let you out early.
Great dude would take the class again, it is very lecture heavy, but he makes it very easy to understand. Both the final and midterm were open notes and the whole class is broken down into 4 units
You wont get out without doing any work but it is 100% reasonable. I would imagine his upper level classes get harder but he is very kind, explains everything well, and knowledgeable. definitely would take again if I had to take more history classes.
If you need to take history matters, please take professor Mustafa! Smartest professor you will ever encounter at Ramapo. He's so passionate and loves his job! I never liked history before, but I was so interested in his class.
honestly so sweet!!!! 100% recommend professor mustafa. his work is easy, just don't bs it. midterm & final exam are online & take home. he lectures and i would recommend taking notes since it'll be helpful on the exam. honestly he's just a super sweet & caring professor who wants to give you an A.
Class is mainly graded on participation, lectures are informative and interesting.
Do the homework and participate in every lecture. He gives clear feedback and is very straightforward on what he expects in regards to assignments. Show that you pay attention to the material. This class is the perfect level of difficulty to where it is challenging, but not impossible.
I've never had so much fun in a language class! Quizzes are open note and the activities done in class are very engaging. If you take this class ask him about Bern das Brot, we spend 10 minutes watching clips once.
