Sam is pretty unclear of what he wants for answers in his study questions but the class turned out to be an easy A. I felt like I was in Jr. High because we did a lot of silly activities that I don't think belong in College but apparently thats the kind of thing people going to a community college like. Overall good guy, decent class.

Sam definately challenges his students, but I learned more about American history in this one short quarter, than my entire life. He is very nice and is easy to relate to. Although some may think that some of his activities are not sutible for College I think that that is what makes his class so much more interesting. Doing things like planning a trip to settle a new colony in the 1700s or watching a part of Disney's Pocahantas to compare the movie to what acctually happened is what makes the class something other than the boring lectures. This class is especially good for those people who don't particularly like history.

It's easy to tell he knows and loves the subject matter and wants you to, also. Tougher than I thought a history class would be, but definitely interesting. Those who feel his activities are too "childish" or "beneath them" can go to their universities with huge lecture halls and impersonal, monotonous teachers. I'll stick with Sam Triebs.

Lots of writing for a history class. Read one chapter each week, write two short essays and answer the ten multiple choice questions. Teacher is nice, but sometimes unclear on grading.
