her classes are definitley entertaining, you will not get bored. she can be a little hard on the students, but as long as you go to class and do the reading you should get an A or B.

one of the best econ teachers ive had. she can seem mean and bitter at times but she will always give her time to help understand the information
She is a okay Professor. She will entertain you and not teach you. I got a B in the class, becasue she did teach me anything. I learned everything from the book. What she teaches is not on the exams. Going to class won't help. Stay home and read!

She is so hard. U might get c for this class. but u have to work ur butt off. my god she is so hard a pain in ur life. She just tries to be sexy eventhough she is not pretty. very hard. tought time with her.
i didnt like this professor b/c she likes to put students on the spot. sometimes when students try to answer problems and dont give a correct answer she will laugh at u in front of the whole class. this makes students not want to rais their hand and participate.

If I didn't need this class for my minor I would not have taken it. This woman is delirious; did not know what she wanted to teach, how to teach it, and how to grade people. Just brags on how she runs her parents liquor store. Just anohter poorly qualified CSULA teacher.
before i take this class, a friend of my tell me that she is so good. Her lecture is clear and easy. she only test what she teach. when she tells story is when she want to wake us up. well, she lated to class, and not very friendly, but you go to her office, you will get all the help you want.
very easy class. repeated informaiton from econ 201 and 202. simple graphs of ATC, AVC, MC etc. of monopoly, olig, competition..VERY EASY if you get the whole concept in the previous classes
Easy to the max.
Easy A. only a go over a few chapters in a quarter. (ch 1,2,3,4,5 and part of 6) the textbook is very thin, no much to read. just pay attention in class and get A on the test
her class is really easy. off course, if you have the typical 2.0 csula brain, you will think its hard.
She thinks all the students know everything before hand...Teaches too fast...Boring at times...She is always complaining about something...Sometimes late however expects all students to be early...Tests are confusing and worded wrongly..No sympathy on tests even if she makes a mistake...Good luck...
very easy
She is funny, wakes you up if you are sleeping with her life stories, interacts with the students, graphs are a bit confusing at times, textbook does help a lot with the exams, multiple choice tests, lets class leave early, sometimes she goes too fast to wake up the students ....
agree
She is a good teacher. NOT great! Econ 201 is a pretty easy class, compared to the other tougher Econ classes. She does NOT teach very well because she doesn't know how to teach! She is very entertaining though, which was the only reason why I went to class. Treat the book as your best friend. :)
You will learn in her class, but the tests are HARD, and her curving doesn't help AT ALL. But i would recommend her compared to all the other econ teachers out there.
A bit boring class, repetitive. Does not really go with the book, has her own models. On her tests you have to study the book though. Her midterms are easy, but the final has unexpected questions. Quite tricky sometimes
She's actually good teacher and nice lady. You do have to read the book before coming to class if you want to get the most out of her lecture. She only tests on stuff she mentions or discusses in class. Her tests are hard and kinda tricky although they are multiple choice, but her curve it pretty generous. You really have to understand concepts.
she alright. tests and quizes are tricky and diffcult. no hw! thats the good thing about her class. her class is just lecture so its kinda boring. she does give a lot of x-tra credit points and trust me, those points help alot! just read the book before class that way you know all the answers and get up to 4 or 6 points a day!
Very strong and clear in her presentations. I enjoyed her very much.
I really liked her class. Her lecture will be very easy to understand if you read and study the book ahead of time. It compliments her lecture very well. Her exams then emphasize what she lectures, but require a solid understanding of the material; graphs are very important for her class. She's very cool and entertaining at times. Great professor!

Worst nightmare. She goes on wihtout stop about her life. She even said in class that she doesn't care what we think of her, because there is no way they'll fire her since she is already a tenure teacher. Summary: Don't take any of her classes at all cost-it SUCKS all the way.
AVOID HER AT ALL COST!!! Her lecture is totally confusing and useless. 95% of the class still does not know what the hell is she talking about after 7th week has passed. She's a very lovely lady but just shouldn't be teaching anymore. She makes me afraid of economics!!!
don't take her!!! talks about the same**** over and over by the time the quarter's almost over you still don't know what the hell she's been talking about. all she does is graphs like you're supposed to know them already and plus she whines about her personal life too much so it affects her attitude towards the students
Gives multiple choice tests and grades on a curve. Also gives a lot of extra credit points. But she is ALWAYS late! Sometimes she wouldn't even give a warning to when she wouldn't be there. However, she's pretty easy if you do the reading, and she's interesting (she talks more about her life than microeconomics, though)
she is hot. multipal tests. 3 tests. she's great. curve tests.
Professor Carrington makes the class more interesting. She always is in a good mood!
The fact is she is a lunatic. She is always late. She always talks about how depressed she is. Her tests are poorly written and always result in poor grades. She is unfair. She is unethical: She let one student skip the final exam because she assumed it was to easy. I just don't know why calstate LA refuses to hire decent econ teachers.
She is really a character, which makes the boring subject matter all that more interesting. Very helpful, very intelligent. Humorous and upbeat. I appreciate her anectodes. She sometimes interweaves her own story, which makes it more personal in a good way. I recommend her class for anyone who wants a different angle.
she is a good teacher, and she writes well. you have to ask questions or else she moves on. she is cool and funny. good luck.
Great stories...a little out there, but made macro and micro econ interesting.
Professor Carrington is very energetic when teaching the class. However, the downside is that her midterm and finals are not from the lecture nor is it from the text so good luck to all of you who want to take her.

Very intelligent woman. She is hilarious at times and definetely not boring. I respect the fact she was trying to get us to pay attention to the details of macroeconomic models. She could have been clearer on certain things, but I do not begrudge her because I did learn a lot in her class. She's also really helpful in office hours.

NO HOMEWORK, 2 MIDTERMS & FINAL. TESTS HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO RELATION TO HER LECTURES. SHE DOES NOT RESPOND TO E-MAILS.
this teacher cant teach. she will teach and sometimes go off topic. her midterms have nothing to do with what she teaches. her final is even worse. be careful taking her. overall, she is a nice teacher though.
BAD PROFESSOR.IF YOU WANT TO LEARN ABOUT ECON DONT TAKE HER..IF YOU WANT TO JUST WASTE TIME AND WONDER OFF IN CLASS THAN TAKE HER
This class was fairly easy. Her lectures are kind of different than her exams, only because she gets the exams for the textbook she uses. (Meaning she does not make her own tests and exams.) Her lectures cover the concepts of the assigned textbooks, but make sure to read the chapters. Volunteer in class, too. She gives extra credit for it!
Her lectures are a complete waste of time, since she merely grazes over the class material but her test are all from the textbook. She goes off topic a lot. Tries to explain everything in terms of graphs but Economics is more than just graphs. Be prepared to teach yourself this topic. Interesting person but horrible teacher.
She is intimidating & gets frustrated when no one knows what's going on - she's too smart to teach. Just study the book and get an easy A/B; she gets her tests from the testbank. Don't waste time with her lecture since she is way beyond our level. Participate for bonus points/volunteer do a presentation. Watch out for her dog.
this prof. sux! do not take. run away!! didnt come 4 a wk. so we didnt have our 2nd midterm and the grade was just on 1st mid and final.
OK shes pretty funny in class, completely sarcastic and really when it comes down to it, a ****. but on the other hand, she brings her dog to class and leaves or doesnt even come at times. and her tests are so hard! they concentrate on the book for the scantron (which she doesnt lecture on) and her models on the other part

2 midterms, 1 final. Exams are from the testbank = read the textbook = lectures have nothing to do with the exams. She knows her stuff, but just doesn't know how to teach. And, she always made sure we knew that she was tenured, and thus couldn't get her fired = she couldn't care less about the students.
RUN AWAY FROM HER. SHE IS A ****. A REAL ONE. HER LECTURES AND THE EXAMS ARE IN OPOSITE DIRECTIONS. SHE THE DEPARTMENT TO MAKE EXAMS FOR SHE WHILE SHE TEACHES SOMETHING ELSE. SHE KNOWS THE SUBJECT BUT YOU CAN'T PASS HER CLASS. SHE IS ALWAYS LATE. THIS IS AN IDIOT CLASS AND ............
This teacher sucks! her tests are the worst, some of the stuff on the test she doesnt even cover and just expects us to know... and she says shes always on time, but dont believe a word she says
Doesnt teach well and doesnt care. Grades on the curve so youll probably pass.
I COULD NOT STAND HER...HORRIBLE TEACHER...VERY ANNOYING...TRIES TO BE SOMETHING SHES NOT...ALWAYS LATE...TESTS ARE HARD...SHE DOESNT KNOW HOW TO TEACH...IDIOTIC ATTITUDE...DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!!!!!
You have to understand her. She was worked hard for what she has and has tremendous pressure running an empire.
class are not mandatory. 2 midterms and 1 final. it is a bit confusing and a little bit hard if you don't study. I am so happy what she gave me because I really don't deserve my grade. She curves the grades. to pass this class, you really need to read the textbook and study !
Please do not take her if you are a Business major. She will turn you off. Her lectures are useless, just stay home and read the book, probably you will earn a better grade. But even though, reading the book and attending her lectures, the midterms and final are still very hard. but yet she curve the grade. soo most likely you will pass with a C.
She was completely useless and does not know how to teach.
She can not teach. She should be removed from her position. But she has "tenure" so this bad teacher gets to stay at Cal State LA.
people you're not in high school anymore, the 200 level class is mostly complaining. you're in college. My experience was she explains really well. she's there to answer questions not waste time on stupid repetitive questions. yes, the tests were a little challenging, but overall i highly recommend her if you want to learn something in economics.
Useless! Completely useless! Wasted my time taking that class! She talks about how your investing your time in coming to her class, well i learned that not going to her class was a good investment of my time! And I say again she is completely useless, she can not teach. I would definitely not recommend her to anyone!
Awful. She teaches how to graph in class and at the same time you need to read the book because the midterm and the final are mainly based on the readings than the graphs. If you can, try to avoid her. If not, make a study group and don't waste your time going to her office hours. She won't help you.
attendance not mandatory, no hw. read chapters prior to class to have a little understanding of what she is talking about. read chapters for tests. final was more difficult. bottom line is to read.
nightmare.. hard class, not patient. like to count on someone and blah blah . sometiems mean
Knows her stuff but not great at explaining much. If you already have an understanding of economics you'll do fine. If not it will take some work but you'll learn more from the book than the prof. She can be annoying, likes to single people out to embarrass.
NO HW. NO ATTENDANCE REQUIRED..SHES FUNNY SOMETIMES AND MAY MAKE FUN OF SOME PEOPLE BUT TRY NO TO TAKE HER IF YOU ARE NOT GOOD A ECONOMICS, BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT LEARN THAT MUCH FROM HER CLASS
Lectures are based off the book but not word for word. Her examples and graphs are based off the book, but not in the book. Her lectures are just to help you inderstand the concepts, then you read the book on your own and use what she went over in class to help you fully grasp the information. Book is needed and Study guide helps TREMENDOUSLY!
I never went to class and studied the morning before my exams for both midterm and final, and pulled off a C+. Wish I had put forth a little bit more effort, could have gotten a B or an A. This class is not too hard. Professor is intimidating, but only does so to challenge students
Pretty easy class. If you attend her lectures, she'll give you most of the answers to her quizzes, you just have to pay attention. A bit intimidating, but study the textbook! Her questions come straight from the text.
AVOID. SHE WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE MISERABLE.
Her lectures are useless, get the study guide with the book and go to class only to know what chapter you're in and to get face time. Don't challenge her beliefs, she'll go after you for it. She's very no-nonsense, sometimes rude, but overall, in a one-on-one setting she is very understanding and wants you to pass.
The test are hard but since grades are curved it's easy to get a B. About 34% will get a B and 12% will get A's. You must read in order to have a good foundation of what she will cover the next day and going to class is crucial. She's a great professor just a little intimidating at times.
I can see why people say she is tuff. Ive never seen a proff write and talk so quickly in my life. Test are straight from book so get study guide along with book. She really knows her stuff when it comes to econ and i really enjoyed her lecture. She made me think. Shes tuff but this subject is tuff. Keep your head in the book if you take this class
Super great professor! If you take her for Econ 201/202 and so forth you're set to take any other classes she is teaching! She teaches you what you need to learn! Just pay attention!!!
Avoid taking her class if you can because all she does is draw graphs in class. She do not care about her students because she have tenure. She will rush you on the exams. Always let students out 20mins early and make her own exam time. There are 3exams and online hw. Online hw goes up to chapters she will not cover and assigned way ahead of class.
She is a decent teacher in the sense that she knows the material very well. She generally explains things well, and the book is simple to understand. The downfall is that she doesn't really like teaching, and can get pretty mean to students.
Sammanth Carrington is a great Professor. I really liked her class. She is really great.
This class is interesting. She is a good professor. People that say bad comments did you actually bother reading the book. You understand in class and learn at home. Doing the problems and extra study plans that go with the book help. As long as you read the chapters you will be fine. I enjoy her class. Focus more on the book, Good luc.
This teacher is extremely unhelpful and very intimating! DO NOT TAKE HER! Be careful not to get on her bad sides or else she will pick on you. The midterms and final come from the test bank. The only way to pass this class is to come to class, read the materials, and do all the homework. The only good thing is that she curve the final grade A LOT!
This professor is mean as heck. She admits she only teaches to make our lives miserable, despite having got a $27.5 million settlement for being labeled a terrorist by Southwest Airlines. She draws meaningless graphs all period, cusses you out on a bad day when you ask a simple question, and short changes you 30-60 minutes on exams. DO NOT TAKE!!!
Excellent teacher, very energetic, enthusiastic, gets everyone involved, caring, always available. I really enjoyed her classes and I had a lot of fun while I was learning.
She's caring, be a good student and she'll be nice to you. Online hw was a lot harder than the stuff she teaches in class. 2 midterm 1 final all from test bank online so make sure do the practice tests. Got C and F for midterms but got B for total grade, probably curved.
Avoid if possible. Her lectures have nothing to do with tests so just read the book. Attend classes just to be on her good side and possible extra credit. Never challenge her.
Her class was fairly easy. Although she was always enthusiastic about her lectures, it was boring for me and hard to follow. Just make sure you read the book because you will need it to do the homework. Her 2 midterms were easy, but the final was hard.
She is assume she tried every method to help you understand. Her class is fun. I never thought I might be interested in Econ at all but I really enjoyed her classes and I learned a lot. Beside she will give you home works which are very helpful for understanding the concept.
Not clear on the subject, her lectures confused me more than the homework. Doesn't teach in an organized fashion. Love that half of class was online, but all she does is draw graphs and expect you to get it. And if students don't understand she gets bored and mad. Read the book! Do the homework! 2 midterms! Study everything that's online!
I took Econ 202 before Econ 201. The first half of the class was easy, but the second half was hard. You are essentially teaching yourself. She gets mad when students don't understand her. She's funny, but can't teach. She uses a lot of economic terms so the students are left staring blankly at her. Try to get another teacher if possible.
Not that hard but not easy. She did curve grade. You have to teach yourself by reading book and doing HWS. Take her if you are not going to show up very often.?(?_?)?
This class was taught as a hybrid course so class only took place every other week. I felt like I learned more reading from the book. Take this class if you are not the type of person who likes to show up to class. She curves a lot. Study by reading the textbook and going over the study guides provided by the publisher in myeconlab.
She is a whole lot sweeter than she comes across. Easy to get a B since she curves the whole class, but you have to really study the book if you want an A.
She has an interesting but intimidating presence. The kind that makes you squirm in your seat when she walks toward you because you think she might slap you or pick on you. She made an example out of a student,he has since been isolated in the corner. Real talk her lectures and tests are overly complicated. youre better off just reading and praying
AVOID!Out of 122 students 75 failed the first midterm and 97 failed the second midterm. She doesn't give you a study guide for the tests and just tells you to read the book. Not very helpful when class meets every other week and you're basically teaching yourself half the quarter.Only take if you don't want to learn anything and just ride the curve.
Speaks openly with students about topics but tends to drag on. Need clearer lectures. Didn't like online homework through PearsonLab.
I took her for Econ 201 (B) and 202 (A-), both are hybrid classes (go in every other week) the class isnt even that hard. I half-ass read the book and did all the homework with minimum 93%+ on every hw assignment. You can basically skip every class and just go to the tests and you'll do fine. just don't fall behind.
*Hybrid Course* If you are going to take this course READ! READ! READ! If you can get a non-hybrid course with a different professor, do so! She teaches through hybrid course, so half online and half face to face. With her classes you meet every other week. You basically learn form the book. There's no prepared lecture, she just wings it.
Let me start by saying. Do the homework assignments don't avoid them it is 25% of your grade which is worth more than your first midterm. You will do bad on all your tests but walk away with a B!!!! The class is based on a curve. Don't stress it, but I do encourage you all to read!
you pretty much don't have to attend class honestly. the homework is such a drag its soooo much. I honestly never understood her grading methods I just know its based on a curve and majority of the people pass. but terrible class you wont learn unless you read
i honestly don't know how i got a B in this class, thankful for her curve. majority of the class would do terrible on her tests. the online homework is ridiculous and you basically don't have to attend class
She's a good professor, she curves and is willing to help you if you go to her office hours. I recommend her if you actually put some effort to class you will pass with an A.
Took her for Econ 201 (B+) & 202 (B-). She curves so you'll probably pass. However, if you want to learn, read the book, do the homework and quizzes, and study the study plans online. She can be intimidating, but she means well. READ THE BOOK BEFORE GOING TO CLASS! that helps A LOT.
Gives weekly homework on myeconlab. Midterm and final are tough if you don't read. Seems not to try since shes already a millionaire... Wouldn't take again.
Missed Midterm. Still got a B. Worth.
Hybrid class. Has class every other week. Dont need to show up at all besides the first one for dates on midterm and final. You are going need to read and understand the concept if you want to pass
I took this professor for Econ 2010&2020 online only class. If you are planning to take her both times then pay the $100 for the access code good for 1 year from the McGraw Hill Connect site, if not then its $75 per semester. You also have to pay $15 for the wall street journal assignments but only if you take her for Econ 2020. Easy A no worries.
She is a terrible professor. Very boring and not methodical in teaching. Read the textbook and work out problems with classmate. Take another professor to have better discussions.
Online class is pretty easy. Each week it takes about 2 hours to finish all the work of that week. Write 4 articles which are 1 page each about econ. The tests are online and all multiple choice which are pretty easy.
Easy class as long as you know how to organize your time. Each week was consisted of one chapter and however many sections they had. Took roughly 2 hours to complete each. Midterms took hour and half, Final took hour. Organize your time and you'll be fine.
Don't take this class
This class consisted of one chapter every week, along with homework and a quiz after. It's alright but just keep track of your time management and you should be okay.
Chill class and its online why complain?
All assignments and lessons are done through McGraw Hill and are due weekly. There are 2 midterms and a final. She does not send reminders about assignments but assignments are due every Monday so you have all week to do your assignments.
If you do not want to learn anything take this class, I did every assignment but because of the weird curve, ended up with this grade.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND this class. This is the easiest Econ 2010 class you can take. Just do your connect homework everyweek and 1 midterm and 1final all online. Super easy and simple grading.
This is the best class if you want an easy A. There is one homework per week and 1 midterm and 1 final. So easy and simple to follow along. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
You use a website called McGraw and it has your hw and test. We were notified last minute about completing a semesters worth of step1. She seemed very unorganized with the classwork and website used, a lot of self reliance. Easy hw, 2 midterms,1 final, class was easy but would not do it all over again.
keep in mind if you take this professor, she was retired and she was called as a back up. she also suffers with depression, when she was teaching my class we would meet up once a week, classes only lasted 3 or 4 weeks when she send an email stating there will be no more online meet ups. her hw and exams were very easy bc most answers are on google.
