She is the best teacher ever! I was nervous about taking a public speaking class but Prof. Garagliano is so supportive and caring, it is easy so feel comfortable in her class. She teaches you everything you need to succeed in class. LISTEN and do EXACTLY what she tells you to do and you can't fail. She makes class interesting and fun.

I am so grateful that this teacher is at Glendale. Not only are her classes interesting, educational and fun BUT she really cares about her students and I think we need more teachers like her.

Professor G will make you want to come to class. Nowadays students think they can skip class and read the book on their own but good teachers make you want to come to class. This class is fun.

I am sad this class is ending. I really enjoyed how Prof. G related all the text material to real life. She explained how argumentation exists not just in professional and academic debate, but everyday. Such a great teacher.

Professor G is super sweet & funny. She is clear on her grading criteria and offers extra credit. The class is based on a 100 point system so every point matters. Take every EC opportunity that comes along like presenting early or presenting on a topic related to GCC. Put in effort into your presentations like making a Powerpoint and preparing.

This teacher cares, gives extra credit, is very clear about her grading and requirements for tests, speeches, etc. Ms. G is amazing, it makes me sad that I'm only going to take one of her classes. She is definitely fair and cares about ALL of her students. She gives extra credit and is supportive of all her students. She's overall a great professor

This teacher is very kind. She is considerate to the level of your communications needs wherever you may find yourself at entering into your class. She is considerate and pretty open to your ideas and topics of presentation. I enjoyed my experience in this course and would recommend her to anyone who needs this course as a prerequisite.

She is one of the best Professors for the communication department! She understands being a student is hard, so she tries to make class engaging. Also you can tell she cares about the class and her students. I took her for argument and debate, and I can say she makes sure you are prepare to go up against your fellow students!

I love this instructor! Organized, clear and so very informative. I looooove that she responds so quickly with emails/grades/etc. Right after class grades are posted for speech assignments with elaborate feedback. You know exactly why you got the grade you did and what you can do to improve it.

Great instructor - This class is easy IF you listen - some students said it was difficult because they don't follow directions - or take notes - hello! She tells you exactly what you need to know to succeed. She wants you to do well but she won't hand out a grade you don't earn. Follow directions - stick to the outline and do NOT read your speech

If you can take her do it! She prepares you to succeed in the class AND in the real world. I really love how everything she teaches she relates to how you will and can use it in your professional and personal lives. If you don't take her you will regret it. I took the hybrid and I was afraid it would be fast but her pace is perfect. She is great.

I took her SPCH 101 HYBRID and I am going to take her SPCH 100 HYBRID - She is so organized and efficient the class days you meet are really informative and useful but if you miss them she won't drop you like other instructors will. She is very helpful inside class and online.

Professor G is one of the best speech teacher ever!!!. She understand that it is scary to talk in front of strangers. So she made us do a lot of group activity, all the students in my speech class become friends,. She give clear explanation of what she expect in a speech, hit all of those criteria and you'll pass for sure.

Amazing class experience. In her hybrid course, you can do an online discussion if you miss class so you don't miss the points but I genuinely LOVE coming to her class.

Best professor EVER - so understanding. I am a student athlete and missed class and she worked with me and was so helpful. I was gonna drop and she convinced me to hang in there and I was able to make it all up.

Awesome for online. I was scared to take an online class because I heard it can be so much extra work than in class. She understands that students taking her online probably do so, like me, because they have no time. She gives so much help online if you need it, if not, you can do it all on your own at your own pace. No extra work.

Don't buy the book if you go to class she tells you anything you need to know. Great class. Fun activities that get you to know each other so you aren't afraid to talk in front of the class by the time speech day rolls around.

Ms. G was a wonderful teacher who genuinely cares about her students. All the class really comes down to is participation and doing well on your speeches, overall she was a real gem and it doesn't hurt that she is absolutely beautiful either. 10/10 recommend.

I had such a great time in her SPCH 104 class. I was so nervous to engage in debate but I learned that it is something I actually love and I am good at. Take her and you will learn while having fun.

Online course had a quiz and a discussion every week that relates directly to the textbook. Speech assignment guidelines are clear. Follow the rubric she provides and you will do well. Great feedback. Peer evaluations are very helpful. Self evaluations are eye opening. You clearly see what you missed when you watch yourself. Exams based on book.

Didn't break a sweat on summer vacation with this online course. Speeches had rubrics to follow so you know how to get an A. Liked the discussions and learned a lot from evaluating others and my own speeches.

Fun fun fun. I dreaded this class but ended up going to school only for this class. My anxiety to present speeches in front of the class is gone. Now I can talk in any class.

This class was really enjoyable. You work with group members and the class become to exciting to come to.

I really loved her online class. I took SPCH 101 and 104 even though you are online you still are able to engage with classmates. You actually really learn a lot from each other through discussions and reviews of speeches. I liked that it was so interactive still even though we never met in person. Prof. G really makes it engaging.

I took both SPCH 101 and 104 online and loved it. Easy work load for working students. Stay on top of the weekly assignment and you will do well. She is great if you need extra help, she will explain it until you get it.

I just finished the short 8 week online class. It was very quick. You have to stay on top of your assignments and I fell behind. Prof. Sam let me make up what I was missing and was very nice to cheer me on to stay in class to not drop. I am glad I listening to her. I passed! But if it was not for her, I would have dropped.

You will not regret taking this course. Such a great class on a topic I thought I didn't need help with - I was wrong. I love talking but I didn't know how to write speeches. She is fantastic! I learned a lot and now consider changing my major.

The best teacher I could ever have for my speech class. Weekly quizzes and writing assignmnets regarding the book and 4 speeches to record. Just make sure you have an audinence of three people. One midterm quiz and a final all based on the book. That is it. Thank you Professor Garagliano. What a Gem!

Make sure you do extensive research for your papers; include research and sound reasoning to back your points and you are golden. Follow her directions of what she is asking for in her debate outlines. Lots of work for a first year class though, but she is extremely nice and it was an overall enjoyable class.

One thing I like about this class, is that Professor Garagliano is one of the best professors in the whole speech class. She makes the lectures and speech assignments very clear and understanding to me and she is always awesome and the best.

Taking speech online seemed abnormal, but it ended up being such a great class. There is about 4 speeches you have to present and you give them in front of 3 or more people then upload the video to Canvas. The class consists of discussions, quizzes, a midterm, a final and speeches. Just do the work and you will pass with ease!

I am in the Online Speech Class now and I thought it would be weird to give speeches online. I did the Zoom with classmates and the professor every week and I felt such support from all of them especially the professor. I overcame my speech anxiety online and just gave my first pubic speech without nerves at my sister's wedding!

Professor gives you feedback for your speech - read the comments to improve and you will get the grade you want on the next speech. Always available to help you also. I loved this class and I hate giving speeches. Professor G taught me how to increase my confidence and made me hate speaking in public less. I really liked the online format. She was well organized and everything was clear. Great class for a full time working student.

One of the best speech professors at GCC! She makes her lessons very fun and keeps them interesting. An easy A if you show up to class and participate. She's a really nice professor who doesn't overload you with work and applies her real life situations to her lessons which helped me better remember the material.

I was worried about how debates would go online but the way Professor G breaks down each debate is really helpful to show that debating is much more than what you say and more about all the preparation. I learned so much in this class!

My class was online so it might be different than in-person but the class was fairly easy. Staying on top of the work will make the workload much easier and will leave you with lots of free time. The speeches weren't hard either. There is a clear rubric and she offers a format on how she would like the speeches to be.

I never wanted to take a class online but had to because covid. I am so glad I got prof. garagliano. She made this experience so much better than I thought. Her class is organized so you always know what to do and she gives a lot of directions. Easy to get an A if you follow directions.

Professor Garagliano is an AMAZING professor. I was nervous to see how Argumentation & Debate would be online but she made it so easy! All assignments are completed through written work, with only your main project being recorded. Highly recommend taking her course. As long as you access the FREE textbook, you will do good on tests and quizzes.

I just finished SPCH101 online, great class. Professor Garagliano was very helpful and supportive. Her videos and directions and clear class set up was very to understand. I wish all online classes were this good.

Take this class if you need it for GE, you won't lose that much time as it is the case with some other instructors.

Sign up for her classes early they fill fast! She is very organized and her online classes are clear without any busywork. Not a lot of assignments, a discussion, quiz each week and four speeches throughout with a midterm and final exam, all the work you do will help you improve on your future assignments so again, not busywork.

Awesome class! Professor is very attentive and gives great feedback. She encourages proper argumentation and critical thinking. Homework does require some mental work. Basically the class requires a lot of writing and research, with some public speaking. Grading criteria is very clear.

LOVE her! I wish she taught more classes. NO busy work! All of her work is focused on helping you complete the required speech assignments well. Use your time WISELY she gives a lot of time in class for getting your work done so you don't have to do it alone on your own time but most students don't do that.

Prof G makes it so easy to feel like you are just talking to a group of friends in her class. We were online but we all were connected. I learned so much in this class about how important it is to talk to people, even when you don't feel like it. Every time I logged on to her class I enjoyed myself while learning.

The professor was really nice. Took it during summer and the course was a little fast paced. I would recommend to take during fall/spring semester so it won't go as fast. The class is mostly writing speeches, presenting it in front of 3 people and commenting on others' speeches. Sometimes she required visual aids like posters and slideshows.

I was looking forward to debating other students. I wasn't sure I would like this class online but the way this class is structured made me understand the foundation of debate in a way I didn't before. We focused so much on creating strong arguments that actually presenting them became less important. We still debated each other in assignments.

Professor is friendly and gave good feedback on my assignments. We did not have to purchase any textbooks for the class. Professor also replied to emails and messages timely. Course overall difficulty was about average, not too challenging but not super duper easy. Final exam was multiple choice. Overall id recommend her and id take her again.
