Do NOT take his class, he does not go off the powerpoint's and is very hard to understand. Nobody in the class understand's what is going on and fails every exam. He doesn't upload anything to blackboard except exam's so there is no idea of final grade. Take's a long time to respond to email's. Seriously switch out before it's too late.

Overall he tires to do a good job but he spends all class explaining things on a white board where literally half the class can't see. He isn't a hard teacher he just doesn't teach the material on the test well enough nor does he curve the tests. You're better off switching teachers if you want to succeed in this class.

He didn't know what was going on half the time, and almost never did the experiment himself. The TA did all the work and answered most of the questions. Most of the students dreaded having him answer their question. The labs were also graded very harshly for someone who didn't understand most of it.

If you have this teacher switch while you can! He doesn't curve even thought all the other teachers do. It is all self taught.

Professor Banerjee was the worse professor I've ever had. I came to his office hours, went to countless hours at the tutoring center and still didn't pass. This professor did nothing to help his students at all. All the other class curve the test while he does not. He is smart but shouldn't teach. Switch out or withdrawal while you can!!

He is a nice person but can not teach. Save yourself time and money and do not take his class.

absolutely terrible. Makes everything harder than it needs to be. Complicates concepts by 1000. Doesn't do practice problems at all. Doesn't answer your questions. The tutors that come and help do a better teaching job. I have always been extremely good at chemistry and am in the honors college. This class makes me hate it. Do NOT take him, please

Had him for lab and he is pure awful at explaining things. Him and his teaching assistant never agree on anything and they tell the students different things and so we get graded horribly. They also refuse to help during labs when they are tired of it. How are we supposed to learn? We arent chemists yet. Never disliked a teacher so much

Doesn't teach, intense accent, acts like he doesn't care if you succeed or not. Tests extremely difficult not like the practice tests.

Dr. Banerjee is a very tough professor. He gives a lot of webassign homework which usually has no correlation to the tests he gives. Also, it seems that he couldn't care less whether or not you succeed in class and he lectures as if his students are renowned chemists. Do yourself a favor and choose a different professor

Doesn't really teach, he teaches like you know more than what you actually do. He skips around on his power points a lot and skips from one part of a math based chem problem to another part without explaining it. Also, tests don't cover all the material taught, only focuses on one or two topics even though he tells you to prepare for all topics..:(

Nice guy not so good of a teacher. I worked hard ,this is not a I slacked off and I am trying to find someone to blame situation. I will most likely need to do a grade replacement. If you already have a good chem background you will do great but if you don't good luck and download chegg

Banerjee is to smart for chem 1150. I feel as though he should stick to Organic Chem,his teaching style is on a more complex level than just gen chem. His test is nothing like the HW or problems done on chem 101. The way I would describe his teaching is "extra for no reason" in a bad way. And he has a smart mouth in the way he talks; he can be rude

This is the worse class that Ive taken. With everything that is going on right now I dont understand why he makes it so much difficult than what it really is, knowing we have more than 1 class a semester. Test were not graded how the point system was set up in chem101. I do not recommend this professor and recommend others. Be prepared to fail.

If you have the option, take another professor.

DO NOT TAKE HIM. I knew of his reputation before taking the class, but i had to take it at 8 am with him unless I wanted to totally rearrange my schedule. Treats students like they are all going to be chemists. It seems like he just doesn't care if any of his students pass. arrogant. Thankful for it changing to online so I. could pass with a C-

Please do not take this professor! with everything going on he is not considerate he can careless. For the test, he gives only 50 minutes for 32 questions. ( keep in mind majority of the questions are MATH! you dont even have enough time to solve for your answer. He is rude and im being bluntly honest HE DOESNT CARE! 1/10 would not recommend

Uses other work as video and doesnt prepare you for Test at all. Not enough time on test.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Dr. Banerjee is a terrible professor who does not reply to emails, gives way too much work, and gives super difficult tests with not enough time. The only reason I passed this class was because of PASC. There's so much more, but for the sake of your mental health, just do not take his class. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Banerjee is just not a great online teacher. I can't speak for him in person, but he isn't a great online teacher. Honestly my best advice to you is to avoid taking General Chemistry online with any teacher at ECU. Teaching chemistry online is already hard and they aren't really good at it.

he is a very tough graderhell give you extra credits but will grade them based on correctness. his tests are always super tough and is a real miser when it comes to grading

Taught the classroom in a flipped style where the student would have to watch videos at home and come to class to discuss the topics. This type of teaching is very ineffective when having to deal with the workloads from other classes. I would take other professors for this class because they would be better suited.

imma be honest, I only passed bc I cheated on the tests. dr. banerjee is a very difficult teacher. his accent is hard to understand, he does a "flipped learning" style meaning you teach yourself the material then go in and just "ask questions" all lecture. the end of his tests are opened ended and if you don't show work you don't get credit.

Just don't take this class if you value your sanity. Your gonna have to teach yourself all the material.

Don't take this section of 1150. Our class average on all tests has never been above a C, he is extremely rude, and cannot plan to save his life. He puts grades into Canvas incorrectly, is inconsistent with showing up to his office hours, and doesn't really teach. Prepare to basically teach yourself.

At all cost avoid this professor. Grading criteria makes no sense. Makes you calculate your own grade and wont match canvas grade. Gave some extra credit but it did little to nothing. Very bad at explaining the content of the course or will over explain one concept. It is hard to reach him outside of class time and forgets about office hour meets.

His class is not difficult but his lectures can be confusing and cover minimal ground. Grading is not clear. Communication is too frequent and often too late and then unhelpful. The tests regularly have mistakes. I have nothing positive to write but I wish I did. Please don't take him. If you do, be ready to learn the material in spite of him.

Professor Banerjee is a very intelliegent person, however lectures are not there strong suit. I often left class feeling more confused than coming into it. You have to be prepared to teach yourself the material as their lectures are useless and confusing. I do not plan on ever taking another class with them.

Had Dr. Banerjee for Inorganic CURE lab. No rhyme or reason as to how he grades. Also takes forever to grade. Incredibly unorganized and unprofessional. Is often rude and patronizing to his students. DO NOT take him for inorganic lab and especially not for inorganic lecture. Easily one of the worst professors I've had at ECU.

He just is all over the place and doesn't give good notes what so ever. Also, doesn't give study guides.

Banerjee very well might be the worst chemistry professor you can have. On the first day of class, he spouted off about how we should respect Native American stolen lands and that there will be no man-splaining in his class, what does this have to do with Gen Chem II? Dropped the class and took it with Dr. Eli over the summer for a 96!

AVOID. He doesn't use slides he just talks which makes it impossible to learn the information. they won't explain things to you if you don't understand. There's no textbook so you can't even read that to make up for their terrible teaching.

Although Dr.Banerjee is a very talented chemist with high background experience and knows their topics/subject, teaching is not one of their pro's. Material is highly compacted into a 50-minute class making the material rather confusing. Choice of wording in questions is confusing misleading to wrong answers, test is a heavy percentage as a whole.

I wasn't a fan of Dr. Banerjee simply because when he teaches, he is just going on and on and not even on topic half the time. He is hard to understand and doesn't help you when you ask for help. There was also a lot of homework that we never understood because we didn't learn it in class.

CRAZYCRAZYCRAZY.Would never take again. Sends hostile rude emails about nonsense.I feel discriminated by my gender and race , have no idea how they are allowed to teach here. Uses a textbook they wrote that is full of errors. Must attend lecture & office hrs,3 quizzes,4+hw assignments,textbook reading WEEKLY.None of it is helpful to the test.

There are three test grades, including the final, which carries significant weight. If you don't perform well on all three, you won't pass. Professor Banerjee knows the material well, but there's a barrier in teaching it effectively. Attend lectures, but don't rely solely on them to prepare. He also won't drop your lowest test grade.

I recommend attending lectures, but relying solely on them to learn the material won't be enough to prepare for the tests. Always check Canvas regularly, as he may assign a quiz unexpectedly, and you might miss it if you're not checking. I also recommend attending office hours before a test to review topics he didn't cover in class (very likely).

Horrible. Inconsistent and then gets mad at students for being unable to follow his inconsistencies. Lectures are trash and do not help on his tests. Q's are paragraphs long and overly complicated for a lecturer that can't convey information very well. Horrible as a lab professor too and creates weird vibes all around. Just why

He is a new chemistry professor at Texas A&M-SA. If you are a pre-med student I advise you not to take him for Biochemistry1 lecture. He skips over important content and concepts needed for the MCAT, so you will end up teaching yourself the material. Studying for his exams were the hardest. My peers and I often felt confused, discouraged and lost.
