Nassar is an okay professor. His lectures are really boring though and he uses only power points. He is willing to help you out if you don't understand something. Can be difficult to understand sometimes, but he is a nice guy.
great proff! cares for his students. willing to help
One of the best profs that I had at the U of C! Very helpful, clear, understanding, and he cares about his students. Go to class and you are guaranteed a great mark. Recommended for sure!
Great Prof. Helps a lot. Interactive class.
ENGG200 is a joke of a class. Nassar is a good prof who makes an effort to make a very boring and dull class interesting...don't be mistaken absolutely nothing could make the content of ENGG200 interesting...but Prof Nassar does his best. His jokes are kind of funny, and he is helpful outside of class.
Great prof for a course that is debateable. Not that you'll end up going to class anyways...
Nassar's an awesome guy even though his English isn't perfect. Still understandable. The projects, though, are the hardest part of the course because you have to work with strangers and the criteria is super hard. Do not buy the textbook - the final exam are based from the notes. I barely pulled off an A in the course because the class was curved.
Crystal clear notes. Funny guy. Great prof. Learned a lot in class. Fair/easy midterms. Class ave for MT #1 was 100%. Thank you Dr. Nassar
Best prof I had in the Winter semester, able to answer every question I had for him, and he made the material interesting. Class average on Midterm 1 was 13.5/15...which further shows how great a 4th level Engineering course can be if you have the right professor.
Straight-forward prof with a sense of humour. His powerpoint notes are also very comprehensive and easy to understand. The assignments can be long and tedious, but the tests are really easy.
one of the best. he can teach everything
One of the easiest and most helpful profs at the UofC.
Best prof to teach probabilities and stats! Super helpful with questions. Midterm/Final were fair. Take this class in the summer with him! Would recommend.
One of the Best Professors at U of C. Detailed notes with lots of examples. Will answer all your questions. His exams are fair. Is very helpful inside and outside class. Dr. Nassar is a funny guy too! He made the course easy for us.
Took it in spring, so lectures are longer but he's a great professor. Go to class and listen to him. He's passionate and caring for students. If you need help, just ask, he will help you.
Nassar is a great prof. His lecture notes are clear. He gave us bonus marks for the midterm. Cares about his students and he makes sure that we understand the subject. He answered all my question I had for the whole term and he has a very good sense of humor.
Other stats profs want to know how he gets huge crowds even at 8 am in the morning
Funniest Professor ever
Prof. Nassar is one of the best Engineering professors at UofC. He tries his best with students and is very honest when explaining the difficult and easy parts of the course. He cares a lot about students and does his best in class to make it funny but informative at the same time.
Great prof. fun to attend his class even sometimes the materials is hard to grasp. tries his best to make it easy for us.
Excellent teacher who is patient and explains concepts clearly without trying to get you confused with unnecessary details. His notes are detailed and clear with lots of examples to practice. Recommended for sure!
great prof for a tough course
Excellent professor who knows his material very well and delivers the course in a very good way. His lecture notes are extremely clear with different examples. He is always funny during lectures. Midterm was a little bit hard but lots of partial marks were give for my work.
He was alright. Funny guy, but he didn't write anything the ENTIRE semester. The fella just read off a powerpoint that had been prepared like 9 years ago. If you didn't go to class, you would have the exact same knowledge since he posted the slides online. His flow was incredible, just a real stunner on the eyes. Plus we had the same shoes.
One of the best at uofc who really cares about students and tries hard to get us to understand. Amazing lecture notes and his exams are multiple choice but needs to show your work for partial marks. I was so lucky in the midterm cause I messed up most of the final answers but showed all steps so got decent mark at the end!
I liked that guy!
Very nice and knowledgeable Professor with a great sense of humor. exams were fair but some questions were tough. amazing notes too. he knows what he is talking about and he answered all my in class and email questions.
This is my second year in engineering and Id say Dr. Nassar is one of the best profs I ever had at UofC. Very funny and great teacher at the same time.
Dr. Nassar is very nice and his class was fun to attend. Usually I had many questions for him after the end of class and he answer all of them with patience. He has a lovely accent too!
Awesome prof. I wish I had him for all my other courses
Dr. Nassar is definitely a good guy. He answers questions well and he tells you what you need to know. Everything for the tests and quizzes are almost directly off his slides. He's not out to fail anyone. You really don't need to go to his class though if you're comfortable learning off the notes because he does not expand on them in lecture
Dr. Nassar was very good in teaching this class. Detailed and very clear lecture notes with all relevent examples to the quiz and exam questions. He is very confident and answers all inclass questions.
Explained all concepts in a nice way and always encouraged during classes. He answered all my emailed questions. Not to mention he was funny all the time.
Dr. Nassar should teach all ENGG courses since he tries his best. Enjoyed his classes cause he was sharp to the point and I did not get lost during lectures although the class was very early in the morning. Amazing lecture notes but if you are in class he will give some hints. I got a B+ but it was the midterm that was poor for me.
What a cool prof he was. Very knowledgeable and knows his stuff. All i did is studied his notes and listened to him during lectures because he explained them with more details. Dr. Nassars notes are awsom and the exams are from them. Absolutely a recommended prof.
of course this course was very hard for me but I managed to do well because of the way dr. nassar taught the course. his notes were very clear and really helpful and covered everything. he had a very good sense of humor and answerd all my questions after class.
Well, probability was insane and I was all over the place. I'm thankful so to the grading system that got me to pass the course! Dr. Nassar was very nice though and his notes were good but I mostly didn't go to classes because it was at 8 am. The stats was much easier than the probability.
Give the guy a salute for teaching and grading ENGG319 the way it was done. I'm happy with my mark. Dr. Nassar was caring for us and wanted everyone to succeed not like some other professors who's main focus is to fail many students.
It was clear that Dr. Nassar has put a lot of effort in organizing and delivering the materials for engg319. He presented the course in a fun way and the pace was very good.
The best thing I liked about Dr. Nassar is that he cared about the class and his willingness to answer all questions.
Dr. Nassar was great and very welcoming. He made the course easy for us.
This course was great. Took it in the spring. Dr. Nassar is an amazing lecturer who is going to make the lecture time fun and useful. The class time is long in the spring but we got breaks. Midterm and final exams were fair and assignments were easy.
Dr. Nassar is by far one of the best professors teaching ENGG. Not complicated and knows exactly what he is talking about not like some other professors who don't know much about the topics they are teaching!
Very Good at what is he doing. I liked his notes and printed all of them.
Midterm was fair and I was happy with my mark. Just study prof. Nassar's posted lecture notes and you should be good for the exam.
Best professor I ever had at the university of Calgary. He made the course simple although the course is supposed to be hard. Dr. Nassar answered all student questions in class with confidence every time even though some question were really hard!
Dr. Nassar is an exceptional professor. I'm really amazed how he is very funny in classes and at the same time teaches this course in a very effective and easy manner as he did.
He cares a lot for all students and he is a very nice person as well. His notes are very good and he explians concepts well. However some of the topics are very hard for me
AMAZING PROF!! Would recommend him for anyone
He is simply a great professor and I enjoyed this class because of his teaching style and amazing notes.
10/10 for sure. Has a unique style of teaching.
One of the BEST! I wish I had him for more courses. Dr. Nassar is a very good teacher and he does not want you to struggle.
Notes are presented through slides and he does a really good job of explaining concepts thoroughly. When asked questions it always seems like he cares and wants his students to really understand the material before moving on.
What a professor! Very good in explaining things the easy way. I enjoyed his notes and being in the classroom listening to his explanations and good examples.
I enjoyed this class although it was in the summer and classes were long. Dr. Nassar is a great teacher and his teaching style is awesome and it was also very clear that he cared about us.
Extremely helpful and he answered all questions in class. he made sure that we understood the concept before going forward.
Best prof I have had till now
Horrible professor
Great professor with lots of knowledge. Very clear lecture notes.
I felt that the most important thing about Dr. Nassar is that he REALLY cares! Yes, he does. He gives us hints for quizzes and exams as well.
Lots of examples in the lecture notes and he goes over all of them. Classes are fast paced but it is a summer class. Dr. Nassar is the best prof to teach this class for sure...
Did not enjoy the class because of the content, however, Nassar understands the class is boring and tries to spice it up a little bit. Participation and active engagement in the class are recommended. The lectures are fast.
Doesn't post lecture notes so you spend the whole time taking pictures of the notes. Apart from that, great personality and he is very nice and funny too.
Dr. Nassar is a great prof with amazing lecture notes. Obviously he knows everything he talks about in class. You need to catch up very quickly with him because the pace is very fast in the summer. I wish only that the quizzes and midterm would have been easier!!
I enjoyed his classes. Although it is not mandatory to attend classes and he posted all his notes, he explains a lot during lectures. Also he is a funny person and looks to care about us. I just need more time to catch up with the fast pace of this summer course.
The second half of the course is much easier than the first one. Dr. Nassar knows this and he told us earlier. I recommend participation in class when you attend since it gives you more ideas. Examples in the notes are very good.
Excellent prof with a good sense of humour. He answered all my questions in class.
The lectures dont connect to the test material. He won't teach practical applications of the formulas, and leave you with open-ended, vaguely worded (brutal in statistics) questions on the tests, with about five minutes a question. Does not prompt learning or exploration of the material.
Amazing professor. His classes are fun to attend. Lecture notes are full of examples. Professor Nassar tries his best to make a relatively hard course easy to grasp.
Dr. Nassar is the best professor I had so far in my two years at the university. He also has a great personality.
summer classes are already painful as is but this prof made it so enjoyable with light hearted comments and jokes. this course is a tough one but id say the key is to practice lots and def just ask for help when needed. super caring guy overall
Dr. Nassar is very good in explaining things. He always solve examples with detailed discussions with us which I like a lot. I enjoy his classes as well since he throws a lot of jokes. Just need to work very hard to catch up with the summer class.
Excellent prof and knows everything he talks about. quizzes are hard but I'm getting there and I started to pick up things and relate the topics.
If you have the chance to take this course with him just do it! 100% recommended
Nicest professor ever. I like the fact he is showing us our progress after each quiz.
I had him for 2 courses this one and ENGG 200 in the winter and he was great in both although they are totally different. He is a very cool guy and will make you love the topic.
I found this course easy but lots of my friends didn't. It's a summer course and you need to be on the same pace as classes fly. I enjoyed Dr. Nassar's classes as he explains nicely with a great sense of humour.
I was very anxious at the beginning because the materials looked very hard, however, Dr. Nassar was amazing with his teaching style and fun way of delivery.
One of the best!
I wish all professors be like him. Professor Nassar has an amazing style of delivery and his notes are great.
Very charismatic professor who handles the class nicely. He goes over all examples in details and tries his best to engage us in the process.
I consider professor Nassar as one of a kind at the University of Calgary engineering program! His lecture notes are amazing and he explains the material in such a way that will get you to love the course.
Amazing professor. Best one I had for a long time at the university.
Dr. Nassar made the course super easy with his unique teaching style and amazing lecture notes. Also his examples are inclusive.
Dr. Nassar was able to turn a very dry and boring course into an enjoyable experience. His lectures are hilarious and he goes over very useful examples! Also, he's a super caring prof who wants to see his students succeed. 10/10 would take a class with him again!
I enjoyed Dr. Nassar's classes a lot with his super interesting examples and unique sense of humor. He is super knowledgeable of the topic and he provides lots of hints for problems solving.
Awesome prof with great notes and deep knowledge of the topic.
I liked his teaching style and his examples. Very funny professor too.
Excellent professor for a course that is very hard. Dr. Nassar explains eveything in class.
He knows the course inside out! His examples are nice.
I wish I had Professor Nasssr fo all my courses beacuse he has an outstanding way of lecturing and his notes are top notch. If you get the chance to have him in any class, just do it.
Best professor ever!
Dr. Nassar resembles how an amazing professor should be. Excellent notes and deep knowledge of the topic.
The course is realtively tough and very fast paced in the summer. However, Dr. Nassar tried his best to make it a fun course with his amzing lecture notes and great real world examples.
Enjoyable and manageble course if you keep the pace of the summer courses. Dr. Nassar is very knowledgable and answers all questions. Funny professor as well.
Fantastic professor. He has a lot to offer in class and is incredibly funny.
What an amazing professor. The classes are always interesting.
Dr. Nassar is a great professor who knows his stuff. He is very energetic in class.
Awful prof for first year physics, nevermind first semester. Utterly murdered the entire class on both midterms. From the sounds of it he primarily teaches graduate engineering classes, which I'm sure he's fine at teaching but he acts like we have the same amount of experience as his previous students. Great guy but my god can't teach for nothing.
Although this class is tough, but I learned a lot from it, credit to Dr. Nassar because of his unique way of teaching and his passion about physics. He is a very easy going and humorous professor as well who will make the class fun to attend.
Very nice professor.
Dr. Nassar is a great professor and obviously he has a lot of teaching experience.
Enjoyable classes and great prof. Takes his time to explain things. I like his teaching style.
he was a nice guy, knew what he was talking about. However, he taught us like we knew it already. Went through the lessons very quickly. at the end of the day it could be way worse.
I took this course with the intention to switch to another program later but guess what? I decided to stay in this program because I liked it and because of some great professors like Dr. Nassar who made me enjoy physics. Thanks for everything Dr. Nassar!
He has an answer for any question. Very nice professor who makes his classes full of fun.
Dr. Nassar is a great guy who is very helpful and available to answer questions. I don't know if he is the right professor for a course on fundamentals, though. I found his testing to be unfair. I have an average of 90 on non-test material, but an average of 45 on the midterms. The midterms had a lot of questions that we had never seen before.
Amazing professor for such a course. He knows everything! physics, math, engineering, calculus, chemistry and even star wars! His exam questions are very specific though and you need to prepare. Overall, a great guy.
Best of the best. He will make you love classical physics.
Knowledgeable professor and had a lot to offer. He is certainly caring for his students. Course is tough though but his teaching style is very unique which made it a little bit easier for me to grasp some of the hard concepts.
Very nice professor and easy to get along with altough he is at a high level. I appreciated his effort to exchange his experience with us.
He is one of the best professors I had this term. I Was worried about the final exam but it turned to be the perfect exam for me!
He will get you to enjoy Physics. Exams are not as easy though and you need to prepare for them but the labs and assignments will compensate. Great professor overall.
I understand that Sam was filling in as the professor for this course, and although I love the man and think hes very hilarious and engaging, that was not a good decision. There were many easy labs and assignments, but the tests were downright impossible. The averages for our midterms fell between 50-55%, and tests are 60% of the grade. Good luck.
Recommended professor. Engaging and funny.
Great professor for a tough course like this. He explains a lot in class and he cares about the students.
