He is a really cool guy, very easy going. makes students feel very comfortable especially for a class like Speech 101. if you are scared to take speech 101, you have to take it with Abou-Rass. He's great. he's also a cop and sometimes share public safety tips in class. He is a pretty easy grader. i definitely recommend this teacher!

dont listen to the person who wrote under me. hes just mad cuz he got a bad grade. im pretty sure that most of his students believe that he was fair with his grading system. and to the person below me... try taking another speech teacher and see what kind of grade you get. itll be either the same or even lower. Samir made a boring class fun.I didn't feel he favored the girls over us guys. As long as you put a little time and effort into the speeches you should have no problem getting an A.Get him talking about police work it makes class way more intresting.

he's awesome. i have an 8am with him which is SOO early but i dont mind once im in class cuz its fun and hes really nice and funny. he is fair, and doesnt ask too much. only did total of 3 speeches with outlines, essay for midterm, and impromptu speech for final.very laid back class and easy. should get an A if u prepare well for your speeches

he was a very helpful and caring teacher for speech 101. He gave us three speeches: demonstrative, informative, and persuasive. the persuasive speech was the final speech in that class. that was the best class I took in fall. he is the best teacher I ever had.

I just finished his Speech 101 class over the summer and I am amazed!!! He is the most caring and incredible teacher you will ever meet and his class truly changed my life. I recommend him 100% because not only will you learn more about public speaking but you will grow as a person. Take him, it will be your best decision!!!

What an amazing person! I wish more people, in general were like him. I took his class over the Summer. We did 3 speeches. Demonstrative, Informative & Persuasive. Each speech prepares you for the next one. Just follow his directions which are very clear and you will do good.

Absolutely LOVED his class. I got over my fear of public speaking. We did 3 speeches in total and they were Informative, demonstrative, and persuasive. You need to show up to class or he will bring your grade down. It is beyond hard to not pass this class.

Abou-Rass is a great teacher, period! He's very easy to follow, creates a stimulating learning environment, and cares for all his students. I learned a great deal about myself, which many classes don't quite accommodate or offer, other than the textbook material provided. What he provides is a fun atmosphere and challenges you from day one.

He was an awesome professor! His class was once a week, but it was not those tough once of a week courses. He is approachable and would love to take his class again. He is a funny man and I do enjoy his stories about law enforcement or his overall input. Participation is key to pass the class and honestly it is not hard at all.

I am the type of person who very clearly has zero natural ability when it comes to public speaking, and I still got an A! I have nothing negative to say about his class nor his teaching method. He tells you what he expects and how to achieve it and doesn't make your life difficult. I really wish more professors were like him!

The entire class is based off of 3 speeches and a self-evaluation paper at the end of the course. After giving each speech, professor Samir gives a lot of feedback helping you improve your next speech. Attendance is important since he keeps track. Overall, easy A if you show up and take his advice on each speech.

This class is like no other; Samir really builds an environment that's comfortable, supportive and energetic. Class was always fun, always to the point, and always a highlight of my week! I took him Fall 2015 and would say made my semester great. Good discussion, and clear expectations. Seriously, take this class. He has a warm heart, too!

This guy laid back! One of my favorite professors iv had at GCC. You can do your speeches on whatever you like. Best part you dont need the dumb $100 book for his class and you dont need to have an 4-5 page outline like other speech teachers want. The best professor I've ever came across! If i could have him as a professor for every subject, I would. This class was super fun and super easy! 3 speeches and on any topic you'd like. They don't have to be written or turned in. Helps you with any questions. Gives great and honest feedback. This class made me actually excited to come to class!!!

Attendance was mandatory. He was passionate and caring. We gave 3 lectures which was graded and one final lecture, so a lot of homework! But i would definitely take this class again, it was life changing.

I took her class over the spring semester. he is one of the best professor I have ever had. he teaches perfectly. If you are really afraid of pubic speaking you should take this class. he will help you solve all of your problems and the class is so fun. If I had time I would take this class again. He is AMAZING.

Hes a super and caring guy! His class is fun and easy. However, he gave no structure for the speeches so youd have to wing it. Id recommend him though! (PS I bought the book and never once used it)
