Very knowledgable

Great guy & good start at brock. Beyond the fact, that his availability to answers our questions, he Goes through many examples, exercises & problems in class and answers all questions until everyone understands. I also like the way he’s linking 1P91 to business news events (Nortel, Enron..). Mr. T
I appreciate today review class. Professor Trabelsi knows his accounting very well and cares about evry student sucess. He made today review class enjoyable.
nice, but hard to understand
Give this guy a Praise. He works coutless hours.THX Samir for this great semester.
He is absolutely the nicest prof. at Brock. The best part about him is the fact that his schedule is packed to the max and he will HELP YOU! He will offer to meet on Saturdays if it is better for you...just make sure that you take interest in the class and he will be your best friend.
Strict but awesome Professor. We hoped that we had Samir for all our accounting classes
One of the worst professors ever. You can not understand a word he says and he expects you to study this course as though it is the only course you are taking. He wants you to live and breathe his course and gets upset if you don't.
I think that Prof Trabelsi is a very good professor. He provided lots of help and offered even more. As to previous comments about understanding him, I do not agree he is very easy to understand and very clear in his lectures. His lecture layout with slides provided was very helpful.
My hat goes off to Professor Trabelsi. I had not taken accounting before and found that he was able to convey the course content in a manner that assisted me in doing well in his course. It is very rare that you find some one so committed to the success of his students which clearly shows in his lectures. Thank you for your commitment!!!!
Worst and unqualified!!
Great prof, "favours" any student that puts their hand up, or talks to him, funny guy and genuinely cares about his students UNDERSTANDING, and then success
excelleent prof in the accounting dept
The most disgusting Prof. at Brock even though he gives the easy exam. I am wondering if he really knows about accounting. He just talks about BS all the time in the class that is not helpful at all! Not a professional prof. at all.
one of the most brilliant men EVER. Is so inspiring and makes you passionate about the corporate governance issues. He is also the most committed, challeging and hard working faculty
Acts like he is a god of accounting, but has too much pride to admit he is wrong to a student.

He has to much pride but he was not able to demonstrate professionally. Every single year, he was complained by the students. How on earth Brock will let him continuing teaching!
One of THE best courses I've ever taken. I highly recomend it. He may take some getting use to the readings but about a quarter of the way in you'll be hooked.
Not a very good professor... Its hard to understand him when he teaches, he wants you to come in for help if you don't understand the lesson which sounds really nice, but I found it completely useless... If you are thinking of taking this course I recommend not to have him as a prof.
I agreed with the previous comment that he is absolutely lacking professionlism. Late for 2 hours for exams and appointment. He was changing his mind and he does not provide help to the students. Professor suppose to be our role model but he is definitely NOT!
Great Professor
One of the best professor at Brock. I liked the way he links academic research to real world governance issues. Keep up the good work samir
He should not be teaching at the graduate level. Lack of professionalism; late for appointments & examination. His lecture is incomprehensive. Very very poor professor.
Not a good prof. Has favourites.
What a great professor. Made corporate governance easy to understand. Cares about his students. Would recommend him to future MACC classes.
very tough but he's the best Prof. at Brock. I like the way he's monitoring us through webct. if you are a hrd woking student, you will be his favourite
he is the best professor in brock who has great knowledge about accounting.he will explain you any transaction with example.he is very cooperated and also help you after his class.he welcomes everybody to come in his office for help.he likes hard working student.I will recommend this professor in any accounting course, my best wishes for him!your b
EXCELLENT PROF. I recommend to take any accounting course with him.
This prof rocks my socks and teaches the stuff pretty well and is very helpful when explaining the material.
best prof ever...........
Absolutely useless. He does not show any respect to his students and lack of professionalism. Awful!
Tough BUT a great professor. Made CG easy to understand as you get exposed from day 1 to real world governance issues. Cares about his students. Would recommend him to future MACC classes.By the way, Prof. Trabelsi, I'm one of your friend that you hate but I admire your dedication on making your student the BEST in the market.
He's not teaching us anything at all:S Maybe it's cuz im taking the course in spring, and he doesn't know how to condense 4 months of material down to 2 and effectively teach it. He just whizzes through examples and slides w/o explaining much. He seems very caring, especially for hardworking students, but if taking 2p32 in the spring term, avoid.
Does not teach, Period. Just comes to class to praise students he thinks are working hard and does not teach. Waste of time.
He is a really bad teacher, and his exam become harder and harder
Prof. Trabelsi is the best regardless all the negative comments posted here. Having said that, if you are not willing to work hard, just avoid otherwise it's gonna be a nightmare or you will end up posting your frustration here wich take you nowhere
He is terrible Professor, always say something useless and boring. He try to make his class hard for u to pass. A really stupid guy
Very helpful. Funny. Really knows his stuff and refreshes your memory with prior material before starting the new chapter. Checks homework so be ready to show all the work. Let him know in advance if you are struggling with any problems and he will make time to tutor you. I wish he was teaching more Accounting and Finance Classes!
He is very unhelpful. He teaches nothing at all. He doesn't respect his students. He always pretend to care a lot of students, actually he doesn't. I suggest you take another pro for this course. He is the worst pro I ever meet. Really, He doesnt even know how to solve some problems sometimes. AVOID!
If you are a serious student then, he is the best Prof for graduate thesis. He makes you work independently, provide necessary guidance and put enough pressure that you meet your deadlines. He is well connected and uses his connections to help you. BUT he is NOT punctual, not planned, less professional. He wastes your time a lot and I hated that :@
I really like him! He has an awesome accent and really wants feedback from his students to improve! If you are "hard working student" he'll love you! And all you have to do to be considered a hard working student in his eyes is to stay in his class since he thinks anyone who stay is a hard working student lool
He's definitely the best professor I have seen at Brock. It's amazing how he relates every accounting issue to very simple real world example..I do highly recommend his blended version of ACTG 2P32 and especially to international students. It's just well done!!!!!!
Wonderful professor. Has lots of office hours and is willing to help you succeed. Professor is really smart and know the material inside and out. Wish I get him again
Greatest professor ever!!!
Excellent professor, really cares but you have to work hard. Great explanations and always available for extra help outside of class. The midterm is fair but the final exam was tough. Overall, one of the best professors at Brock.
He is the best prof I have had so far at brock! he really likes to make sure his students are actually learning what he is teaching and he likes to relate his lectures to the real world! Overall a great prof!
This is the unique and popular graduate course in the MACC program. Than you very much Dr. Trabelsi for your great dedication and more importantly for making this clsss extremely accessible
he does not deserve students' repspect since he did not respect us. when you argue with him, he won't listen to you. he is the worst prof I have ever met at Brock. when he is happy, you are fine. when he is not, everyone who try to chanllege him is in trouble. i just don't understand how he conmmunicates with others.
Took this last summer, the class was half online video to teach concepts, the other half was in person to help us and go through problems. Trabelski is the best teacher I ever had. If you show an interest in doing the work he will help you with any problem you occur. I hope I get the opportunity to have him teach me again in the future.
Really awesome professor. Knows his stuff and is careful in making sure that everybody in his class understands his lectures. Nice guy, fair tests, goes out of his way to help you study for exams.
terrible professor, never say useful thing in class. Never respect to his students
Nice guy, interesting classes. Among the very few that relates class materials to real world. You can learn a lot from him. Seems always in a hurry. If you need to ask a question - email him or go to his office.
Simply the best at GSB...
great prof. passionate about corp gov and teaches it very well. enjoyed his classes and the real life examples in every lecture. amazing
simply the best at Goodman. extremely dedicated for international students success
The best faculty at the accounting department. Must teach MACC 5P12 as the CFE results are simply horrible.
Lectures are boring yet he expects you to be hooked on every word. Doesn't upload any slides but expects you to know course content in advance. Spends most of the lecture talking down on other profs. The best part of this course is that he is an extremely easy grader so at least you don't need to put any real effort in other than the midterm.
Samir is a pride for Brock... no doubt why he was awarded the Faculty Excellence award lately by the senate. Exam are relatively easy, and gives you everything in class. He's among the few that show he really cares about your success.
He is the best prof you will get at Brock University.
Decent Professor and he really cares about his students doing well, but extremely unorganized and doesn't remember what he said the class before. He'll assign work to be collected then completely forget, and change assignments halfway through you working on it. His midterms are completely arbitrary on what he's feeling when he writes it.
Prof Samir is my best professors so far, and thanks to him I will major in accounting. He shows that he really cares for his students, and do everything to explain things in a simple manner
Professor Trabelsi has been my idol in accounting. He makes things so simple that you would not miss anything... Plus, he is very personal with student.. We're really lucky to have him in Brock
I really enjoyed Mr. Trabelsi teaching style, he was energetic and engaged with the students. He would always be willing to take the extra time after class to help anyone. It was not an easy course but if you go to class and take some time to study every week for a few hours you will do well. I hope he continues to teach at Brock University!
Professor Samir is mindblowingly caring towards his students. His classes are some of the few classes in which I feel a human being is lecturing, not a machine. Thank you for your inspiration Professor Samir. You are a professor we will always remember...
I'm sure Professor Samir is a nice person at heart however his teaching style is unbearable and incomprehensible. He spends a tremendous amount of time complaining about absences and adjusts the quality of teaching according to it. I understand showing up is important however he should "show up" ready to teach properly regardless!
Samir is a great prof. He picks on students a lot and puts you on the spot. However, the class isn't too hard if you work for the grade. He's and easy grader, and a funny guy, and there's so many opportunities for extra credit. He's very respected at GSB and many students look up to him. There's no final exam, just 2 midterms, and 2 assignments,
A wonderful and caring man that wants nothing but the best for his students, but a frustrating professor. Passionate about the subject material and will take time after class to explain concepts BUT during lecture - jumps all over the place, repeats unclear ideas over and over, pulls marks out of thin air and promises bonuses you'll never see
Thank you for going above and beyond! Professor Trabelsi, it was a great time and good luck for me, being your corporate governance's student, I have learned lots of interesting cases especially bitcoin which I think it's really useful. Finally, you brought us from the moon to the earth, successfully and safely. Please accept my deepest thanks.
I am flabbergasted by some of these reviews. I agree that he is very caring towards his students and is funny but the guy cannot simply teach a thing. He is very unclear and unorganize when teaching concepts. His marking criteria makes no sense whatsoever. He made promises about marks and never followed them. Because of him, I am suffering in 2P32.
Amazing Professor. Extremely caring and his lectures are so much fun. He does his best to make sure the classroom is a low-stress environment and he really appreciates participation in his classes. If you do the homework, pay attention in class, and ask questions I guarantee that you can get above 90% in his class. You will love his class.
The lectures mainly taught by students. The assignments was marked by TA. The professor was useless.
I took ACTG 2P31 with Professor Trabelsi and couldnt be happier - his lectures were well planned out and he made sure every student in the classroom was engaged. He spent a lot of time on fundamental concepts that helped me get a good grade in ACTG 2P32 - such as the conceptual framework. He is an extremely caring and reasonable professor
Friendly guy, but that is the only good about this professor. Will assign lots of problems with solutions. Says in class, the practice problems he assigns are all you need to do in order to do well. When it comes to exam, he will give a problem with a concept he never taught, then blames you for not studying enough. He is dishonest.
Just covers the bare minimum basics,Doesn't go through enough relevant and testable content in his lectures. Learned much more from the textbook than from his lectures. In both the second midterm and final exam, he threw in a couple short answer questions extremely vague, yet expected a very specific response. Not a fair or caring professor at all.
Lectures are such a drag. Goes through content in an unclear manner. Avoids giving assistance through email and advises to meet during office hours where he is unhelpful. In the end, I felt like I didn't get my tuition money's worth as it felt like self-study course. Only pro is that his exams aren't that difficult for the most part.
Dude acts like he's a saint but honestly isn't that great. His teaching style is messy, lectures are unclear and assigns lot of problems. The exams r also not that great either.
I'm an A student yet earned a B even though I understood the material. Scribbled all over slides instead of reading, and spent a lot of time yelling, "guys!" when students didn't participate. Graded using 2 midterms and a final. Heavy marks toward arbitrary things and fill in the blanks that weren't English. Don't trust when he promises bonus marks
AVOID! The most horrible prof I've ever had at Brock University. He's very rude and impatient when you got any problems. His course is worthless, don't waste your tuition on his course.
One of the worst professors I had in the accounting program. His exams are based on however he's feeling - he kept changing the type of questions he asked for each exam which made it difficult to study for. His lectures were lame and consisted of making student's teach the class instead of him. He has zero teaching skills. Just reads solution book
Great proessor, always kept the lectures informative but intriguing. He truly cares for his students and seems to want to see them all succeed. Breath of fresh air for a professor. Would recommend
I somehow got a 95 and i have no idea how
This professor is a complete mess. He barely teaches any material in lecture. He constantly changes the grading layout of the course and changes the layouts of tests every class. He goes off the rails in lecture all the time and his handwriting is so illegible I can't count the amount of times a student had to ask for clarification.
Professor Trabelsi is kind and cares greatly about his students. It can be intimidating answering questions in class because he doesn't sugar coat it if your answer is wrong. Intermediate Accounting is intensive and there's no getting around that. For the best outcomes in this course, read ahead and take initiative.
He won't answer any of your emails and doesn't teach you. So if you want to teach yourself then he would be great!
I would rate it lower than 1. In my class, he assigns a topic and you produce a presentation. And then he will mark you based on his subjective assessment of your work. No criteria for evaluation, no additional knowledge or support for the student. I dream of the day when AI will make this kind of "teaching" a thing of a distant past.
Samir is a fantastic professor. He cares about the wellbeing of his students, and made an effort to try to make us less stressed during a very stressful semester. He's very knowledgeable about the course content and always pushed us to apply our lessons to the real world. Extremely lenient marker. Definitely take his course if you have the chance.
This professor is extremely irresponsible. The class is mostly focused on ESG, which isn't useful at all. He consistently changed the schedule and delayed releasing marks and seemed to randomly assign final grades. You won't learn anything valuable from this class, so I'd strongly advise against taking his class if you can avoid it
This guy thinks he's superior so he doesn't reply to your emails. Doesn't care about students nor his class. Not accessible at all outside of class. You are on your own to study for this class. He will promise you something that he won't do at all. If you have him as your prof for this class good luck because you are stuck with him.
