The coolest teacher I have ever had. He's so funny that it makes you want to go to class just to see what he says and keeps you interested. Makes the class very easy to do well in and is extremely helpful.

Professor Blair is thoughtful and humerous. I learned lots of useful things in his class. His lecture is where you can feel the happiness of learning. I love him! If u r looking for sociology, pick him and it won't be wrong. Trust me.

Possibly the funniest man alive. Gives very clear notes, and repeats definitions verbatim. In addition to this, the class before the test, he tells you where the questions come from in the reading. This often shaves the reading from 200 to 60 pages!

This class was great. Mr. Blair is a very funny guy and the subject is very interesting. The class is not that tough he tells you exactly what will be on the exam, just make sure you review it. Highly recommend getting him as a professor, one of the greatest professors at this university.

Dr. Blair is a really funny guy. Lectures are interesting and he always makes jokes. He only gives 3 tests so your grade depends on how well you do on them. But if you read the text and pay attention in lecture, you'll do fine. Make sure you get lecture notes from the T.A. Very approachable guy, take advantage of his office hours. Great class!

best class I've taken at UB by far! This guy actually makes you WANT to come to class every day. He's really funny and easily approachable. Never worry about doing bad in this class, the extra credit points and attendance bonuses make it so you can't lose! I suggest EVERYONE takes this class, whether you're a SOC major or not!

Great teacher! Lectures are very interesting. Three exams, all multiple choice (half of the questions come from lecture, half from the practice tests online). Also gives occasional bonus points for attendence. Easy class. Highly recommended!

Great teacher! Makes a lot of jokes in class which makes the lecture interesting and keeps you paying attention. Passes around an extra credit sheet on days when less than half the class is there. Tests are harder than you would expect but the curve is extremely generous. Overall a pretty good class.

Easy professor, 65 question tests... final is exactly the same as the test.... but you must study... there are tricky questions... he does give a few answers out occasionally though... nice fun teacher... i recommend taking him!!

Dr. Blair is definately one of the best teachers at UB. His class is interesting and he always has relevent stories to give you a better understanding. You have to work though and attend class to get the grades. He is extremely helpful and gives you every chance to succeed. I recommend any class taught by Dr. Blair.

I had my 1st class w/ Blair at the graduate level this semester; it was excellent. Your TAs are serious and rigid for a reason: grad school does wicked things to people. Blair knows this. In his seminar, things are different--it's not all rigid and business-like--like in your classes, there is always laughter--that and actual learning.

If Dr. Blair has inspired you and has sparked your interest in soc., please, please, PLEASE keep going on for Soc! There are a lot of excellent profs; he is a rarity, though. The field could surely use more scholars who have had someone like him as a teaching model. Students and teaching/learning over politics-that's Blair. It could be you, too!!

SOOO FUNNY SOO NICE EASY EASY EASY A. online assignments are worth 10 extra points on an exam. make sure u go to class he passes around a sheet of paper for people to sign their names so you can get extra credit.

I had to transfer back home and the only person I miss is Samspson L. Blair. By far the funniest teacher I have ever had in my entire life. If you have no interest in Sociology, take him, cause, at least he is hilarious. Also make sure to join his facebook group. He ROCKS!!!

he makes the class so easy. on random days he'll had out free points for your final average & if you do the online practice exams, it's 10 pts on your exam grade. a lot of the exam questions come from the online exam too, so it's really helpful...i highly recommend this class to ANYONE who wants an easy A.

Hilarious!! Take this class if you need a gen-ed. Attendance wasn't mandatory, but worth going. Half the material from the bolded words in the textbooks, other half from lecture. Two midterms and a final, easy and non-cumlative. Extra credit available and easy!

This guy is amazing, his bad day is most teacher's great day. He is my favorite professor I have had by far. I wouldn't be writing this if I had any doubt that it could save someone from taking anyone other than Professor Blair. (: 5 stars.

If you can't pass this class you should not be in college. A 6th grader could pass. Dr. Blair makes it soooooo easy. He gives students so many opportunities to do well, all you have to do is show up to class and he's a really funny guy. This has by far been my favorite class at UB.

this is one of th emost easiest clases here at UB. Although my lecutre has 451 stundents its not boring at all. He keeps your attention with his great sense of humor and relates various topics to the students. There are no term papers. Just 3 midterms and a final exam. the answers are in the lecture notes and textbook.

I would never miss any of his classes simply because he is the BEST! fantastic professor, very funny and always entertaining. He is also well respected and down to earth. Such a wonderful teacher, would take his class all over again if i had to.

Take home MC tests that are due a week after receiving them, really big on curves, and likes to joke around. Why wouldn't you take this course?

I'm gonna be brutally honest. He is one of my favorite professors because he's absolutely hilarious! However, I'm not sure I learned a thing in his class. We had no homework and 2, take home, open book exams, that he put a 15pt curve on!! He didn't take attendance but I never skipped because I enjoyed his lectures. Easiest A ever.

Blair was a great prof! There were only 3 MC exams which were open textbook and open note. You could even bring your laptop! There was about a 15 point curve on each exam as well. He never took attendance, but he doesn't post notes online which are necessary for exams. MC was word-for-word from the book or notes. Very engaging and funny! Easy A!

Pretty much the easiest class I took that semester. He gave 10 extra points on each of our exams. And all exams including the final were open notes, book, phone, etc. He is hilarious and the lectures just fly by. He also cancels class on days where he thinks no one will show up do to nice weather or holiday weekends, etc. Awesome professor

Dr. Blair was an amazing professor. Exams are all take-home and you get 10% added regardless. Attendance is not required just take the exam with you home the days he will give them out, but being at class pays off because he gives extra credit to those that come to class with a sign-in sheet days he thinks no one will be in class &hes funny.

I had his class at 8 am and it really started out my day off right. With most of my other classes at a high difficulty level, his class really lightened up my workload. He is super educated on sociology and loves to involve everyone in the class through examples to help you understand the material!! Highly recommend him as a professor.

Sampson was the best professor I've ever had. If you have the option to take a class with him, DO IT! He gave extra credit for coming to class if it was bad weather, exams open book/google/note, no hwk, no attendance required, no textbook. He cares genuinely about the students and literally got to know each of us just because he could. GREAT GUY!

As other review's say, this guy doesn't want you to fail. He loves to teach and get to know you, and it's harder to fail this course than pass. I promise the 8 am class time is worth it, he makes the day so much better. Seriously, take his course if you need it. I wish he taught more!

One of the best professors I have ever had. Super nice guy and makes an intro course very interesting and engaging. He applies the topics to real life to make them very understandable. Grade is made up of 4 tests, but they are online and open note. Great guy, highly recommended, would take again for sure.

Great guy! Super chill, only a few tests & were all online/open note & fairly easy. Lectures were engaging, making it easy to pay attention. Only nerve-racking part was when he would randomly call on you, but he had a good sense of humor. He gave people extra credit sometimes just for showing up if not a lot of people did some days. 100% recommend!

He puts grades on the backburner and instead focuses on making lectures super engaging, fun, and interesting experiences which truly gets you to think. Sure his classes are all insanely easy but he gets good reviews because the content actually sticks and is being learned because we WANT to.
