Very little fluff in this class, he gets straight to the point and tells you what you need to know. Chapter quizzes are due every sunday online. I loved showing up for this class. would recommend anybody to take him for accounting 2.

You are given three assignments a week. He does not offer extensions on late homework assignments so be sure to submit your assignments before the due date.

This class is Test heavy and not finessable. To do well in this class I would suggest that you pay attention in class and take notes. Dr. Akin is one of the best professors I had in the School of Business. He definitely laid out each test on the topics covered & what to expect. This is probably the best Accounting professor you can get at Howard. Prof. Akin has a great sense of humor. Textbook is purchased online and will last for both ACCT 201 and 202. HWs do take a lot of time and you may have to read on your own a bit. You also will have to attend 5 CCE's for part of your grade. Also, USE OFFICE HOURS if you get lost!

To assist us with obtaining a passing grade he gives very detailed study guides on exactly what to expect on the exam. I am grateful for Dr. Akin, he is one of my favorite accounting professors here.

Dr. Akin is passionate about accounting so show up taking the course seriously. Most important thing is to do is put in as much effort as you can on the mini-cases and *show up for class.* Sometimes he can be a little difficult to compromise with but overall he approaches student issues with an open mind.

As long as you come to class and show you are willing to learn he will help you as much as he can. He's very lighthearted and wants everyone to pass, so he takes it easy for the most part.

I would recommend taking Dr. Akin! Show up to class, participate, and ask questions. Dr. Akin wants what's best for his students and it really shows!

Great teacher, breaks down concepts so they are easy to understand. He also makes lectures interesting with his “jokes” lmao

If you don't choose him don't bother taking an Accounting Class- GOAT!

This professor made accounting easy! He was very informative and easy to understand during lectures; really broke down & repeated information so we clearly understood. Test were very easy: he puts exactly what was gone over during the review day on the test. Definitely recommend Prof. Akin over any other accounting teacher here at Howard.

He's funny and he'll make you not dread your 8am. The class isn't difficult if you go to class and study and do the work but you will fail if you don't do any. He's very cool tho. 10/10 would take again.

Professor Akin is a great professor who will definitely make a hard class easy. he gives you all the keys you need to succeed. he has a youtube page that I utilized a lot throughout the school year. overall cant complain and is very relateable

Great Professor! I'd take this class again in a heart beat. He moves through course work pretty quick however accounting is fast pace no matter what. His lectures are clear and if you pay attention and do practice problems you will do well no doubt. Lots of homework but not too bad if you pace yourself.
