New professor to School. Very friendly, helpful, easy going. He is passionate about teaching students.
He is very knowledgable and has a passion for teaching. He is helpful, and is a fair grader. Friendly and shows that he cares about his students. Take him!!!!
Took him for 401 and International Marketing. Dr. B is the man! Just go to class and discuss.. no need for text book. Show up every week and participate and you will get an A.
Great professor, interactive class, does not teach from text book, every class is a discussion. Speak up and get involved and you will get an A!
AMAZING! He's easy but it's not like he's slacking off. He's an incredible professor and I learned a lot from him because I really enjoyed coming to class. It was interactive and he was very clear in his lectures. Minimal homework and a few tests, but common sense will help you through this. One of the best - I even wrote him a thank you email!
Just Take Him, you will not regret it! Trust ME!
The best professor at CSUF. Dr. B is the man. He truly cares about his students.
Even though I got an A, he's still a horrible professor. You dont learn anything in class, you need to read the book on ur own to do good on a test. He grades unbelievably WEIRD, especially on presentations. He's easygoing, but he's a jerk.
didnt learn anything from him, just the book. Not a very hard class but you can learn more from just buying the book and reading it over the summer. his grading is very inconsistent as well...
His class is really easy overall, but really weird grading on presentation. I took his summer class and you have to read the book in order to get good grade on exams. Do the reading, his power point slides are useless.
I regret taking him. Nice guy, great class, lots of good info, but his grading is unpredictable. This unpredictable and inconsistent grading can make it hard to get an A. If you?re a student that normally gets As like me, taking this guy is a gamble. Midterm & final require a lot of memorization as they are 50 multiple choice and 2 essay questions.
He's an okay professor when it comes to teaching. The exams were extremely hard, and even if he says that the ppt slides have what we need for the exam, it's not true. He's not as helpful on your presentation, and grading are a bit unfair. Can't get an A that easily, you just have to work on it and make sure you have As on quizzes and exams.
pretty chill class read the book and write down everything during the class discussions and you'll do well exams are 50 mc and 2 essay worth 50%. 2 midterms 1 final one project make sure you get a good group. i recommend him
I ACED HIS 2ND MIDTERM AND FINAL, AND ENDED UP WITH B. YOU REALLY NEED TO KNOCK OUT THE PAPER AND DO WELL ON THE POP QUIZZES BECAUSE THOSE ARE THE CRUCIAL POINTS. I LEARNED IN HIS CLASS, VERY NICE MAN, BUT HIS TEACHING IS ALL OFF THE TOP OF HIS HEAD AND CONTINUOUS DISCUSSION. I ENJOYED PROFESSOR B, BUT AN A IS ACHIEVED THROUGH THE PAPER AND QUIZ.
Quizes are straight from the reading, exams are 1/2 book and 1/2 class discussion. Essays are 100% class discussion. Make sure to visit Dr. B in his office hours - I originally received a B on the project but visited him during his office hour and he bumped me up to an A. Just show that you're paying attention and he'll give you the extra push.
fairly good professor
HE SHOULD NOT BE TEACHING A GRADUATE MARKETING CLASS. He said that we were going to have essays on the midterm but he didn't have any. Instead he used another professor's exam. WTF? The test wasn't even from discussions (which are pointless cuz its just ramblings from the prof). Class was a joke. Bias grading.
If you could choose another professor for this class, I would. He had no clear guidance as to what he wanted for the semester project but had very biased grading. We would email him questions and he gave us open ended questions. Would often get mixed up with his decisions as to what was going to be on exam. DON'T TAKE THIS GUY!
Class is extremely boring. Have 3 tests, each of which covers 5-6 chapters and no studyguide. Studying for the exams is difficult at best as the book covers a large amount of material. Grading is very weird on essay questions. I would not recommend taking him.
I honestly have no idea how Broyles is rated so low on this. He IS one of the top teachers at this school. He definitely knows what hes talking about and is always willing to help. He just wants students in his class all the time, and does take notice but no actual attendance. GREAT TEACHER!
I had Professor B for Professional Selling. His class was fun and interactive because you have to do role plays. He gave 2 tests and 4 quizzes. The quizzes are really easy one quiz was Who are your teammates.
Professor Broyles is an incredibly nice guy. However, his grading scale is completely subjective, and anyone hoping to legitimately learn sales techniques should look elsewhere. It's an easy B, though hard to get an A due to subjectivity. Again, I truly wanted to learn sales techniques, and I got nothing. Just repetition on the 80/20 rule.
He is a nice person, however, should not be a prof. Assignments are ambiguous. Expects students to role play on concepts not yet learned and then grades harshly. Tests/quizzes are ambigous. Impossible to get good grade. Lectures are confusing and useless. I learned nothing. My GPA is 3.880. Do not take his class. I feel bad, but it's the truth.
he's really nice, but should not be a teacher. questions from book are easy, but essays and student presentations are completley subjective. he'll subtract 10 points here and there and when confronted, does not have a direct answer to WHY 10 points and not 6 or 7. horrible.
Do NOT take Professor Broyles. He does not teach the class anything from the assigned readings but tests us on the readings. His grading is very subjective as people have mentioned. He does not have any justification for why he gives a certain grade so you must challenge him. No matter what, you can't win in his class. His grading is ridiculous.
Sorry to do this but DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I am in the last two weeks and I still havent learned a thing. He unfortunately doesnt teach anything and uses the entire 3 hours to ask students questions, but doesnt teach a thing. He should not be teaching masters classes. He also grades down for random things but does not explain why.
One word...value. As a graduate student I paid roughly $2,000 for this class. This class is not worth the paper I used to doodle on during his incoherent rambles about value, the size of Wal Mart, and other things that I knew by the age of 10. His final better be on nothing because that is what we learned.
Don't recommend him. Keep using the same examples over and over. Doesn't give clear instructions on the final presentation. Never clear on why he took points off on presentations. I learned more from the book than from him.
Not recommended. He gives 3 exams (final not cumulative) and 5 pop quiz (drops 1). His lectures are pointless. He teaches the same thing over and over again and "tries" to connect it back to the day's lecture (doesn't work). He requires you to submit a group marketing plan that he's extremely vague about. Asking for clarifications doesn't help.
This class is highly subjective/vague. He says the marketing plan project is now more specific then ever. It's extremely vague. This is everyone's first marketing class. We don't know what a good marketing plan looks like. He doesn't mentor, give examples of good marketing plans, and refuses to give feedback. What's the point in this teacher?
This is the worst professor I have ever had! His lectures are pointless he does not know how to teach! You're better off reading the book and the marketing project is extremely vague! He doesn't give feedback even when you turn the final draft in he just gives you a grade.. DONT TAKE HIM
You're going to have to read the book on your own. He grades weird for essay questions and for the group project. Although attendance isn't "mandatory" you should still go because he gives pop quizzes and 1 extra credit. I missed 1 pop quiz and the extra credit. Got a 90% on the final, but ended up with a 71% in the class (no pass) =[
Exams are 50% from textbook and 50% from in-class discussions. Exams are challenging, but fair. One thing is that you really have to "think" when taking his exams. He will help when possible, but does expect students to "think". Lectures are good and he has awesome slides to communicate his messages.
Tough exams, but questions on the exams are practical, I was just not properly prepared to be honest. His group projects are challenging, but it did help me learn how to better work with other people. If you need help go to him - he will always do his best to help.
Tough tests, but have to admit they are fair. It was my fault that I was not prepared. He made it clear early in the semester that exams are 50% from the book and 50% from lectures. I waited until the last few days to read the book, and my poor grade reflected that. Good lectures - his presentations help you better understand the topics.
Worst professor I have ever had! Beware questions on test are vague and confusing. Lectures are pointless and boring. Do yourself a favor and don't take the class!
Worst teacher I have ever had. I have 3 college degrees, working on a fourth and have never encountered a worse teacher. Rambles on and on about coke and walmart, teaches nothing. Tests make no sense. Gives group projects and grades subjectively with no feedback or reasoning. Learned nothing, worked hard and completed all assignments and failed.
You can tell Broyles likes marketing. He gets really into explaining things.. the catch is that he explains it in his own ways that may not end up being really helpful. He skips around a lot of material. States that tests are half lecture half text & it holds true, but his questions pulled from lecture are kind of absurd.
Tuff professor. He expects a lot from students, so you must go to class to hear his discussions and you must read the book because his exams are 50% from the book and 50% from lectures. But, I must admit that I actually learned a lot of real life things in this class that will help me in the future, which is important to me.
If there is one thing that this man doesn't know about marketing, it would be how to teach it. He just rambles on and on and then gets suprised that no one passes the tests.
It seems like the teacher takes pride in failing students. No one takes notes during his lectures because he talks about random topics
Dr. broyles? Seemed more like a patient to me. He's always lost unprepared and just tells us to work on our projects so he doesn't have to lecture. The entire semester we had about one lecture at most in the week. This is coming from a marketing major who usually gets B's
Prof. Broyles was a stand up comedian, on of his questions on the midterm was: Who likes sweets? a.) Asians b.) Latinos c.) Etc. ...... (you get the idea) In the review session we talked about not cramming, getting more sleep, and having fun. We never actually reviewed for the test and then we all failed.
No feedback on absurd group project grading. Tries to kill time by calling Guest Speakers for almost every class. The day before the final we were told "hard that work doesn't equal success"? Irrelevant and not helpfull.
Not sure how the our projects were graded. Seemed like he just gave out random grades.
Professor Broyles had a great sense of humor. But he didn't really possess any teaching skills.
There were lots of extra credit opportunities in the class, but the class overall was a nightmare!
Do your self a favor and take another professor, didn't learn a thing.
As previously mentioned, it was a nonsense course.
Tests are 50% from book and 50% from lectures. Questions are challenging on the texts, but many students have troubles simply because they rush when taking his tests and don't take time to think about what the question is asking. Definitely a tough class, but must admit that I learned some real work advice.
Don't go to class - Don't read the book - You won't pass the class. But - go to class - do read the book - and you will pass the class. Tough but very fair. And in the end he actually used a curve that saved a lot of students from failing.
The test aren't the easiest. 50% of the test is from discussion & 50% is from the book. The discussion Q's were what made the tests hard. I don't think he's as bad as everyone says. He's a good professor, more than willing to help but you have to ask. 55 EC points boost your grade by a whole letter plus a curve. I got an A. Don't miss class.
Tuff, but fair. Want help - go see him. Attendance is not required, but if U don't go to class U won't pass because a lot of the exam is from class discussions. If U deserve it, he will help you find a way to pass the class. I'd take him again.
If you don't want to learn - then don't take his class.
Want an easy A then forget about it and go somewhere else. Exams are tuff, and sometimes the questions R confusing. But, with extra credits and a final curve I was able to get a B+. If U need help - go to him - he will help you.
Not sure why everyone is so hard on him. He expects a lot, but is there for you if you go to him for help. But - go to class or you probably won't pass.
Great prof. w a wealth of real-world experience. Attending class is a must as exams are 50% from discussions. Not for the lazy person; but his class will help you learn how to proceed intelligently in the conceptual business world of marketing.
If U like things to be 'cut and dry' such as debits and credits or ROI calculations, then this class will really confuse you because it is so conceptual. But, learned a lot about actual business and how things work.
Broyles is a NICE professor but his tests are EXTREMELY HARD!! They are 50% discussion and 50% conceptual textbook questions. However he was nice enough to give everyone enough extra credit and a BIG curve to make sure students pass. I went from an F to a C+ because of that! 2 tests + 1 Project + Online HW and Quizzes.
Rigorous class and tough tests. If he gives U extra credit opportunities - use them, they may save U like they did me. Having troubles - go see him, he will figure out a way to help U. If you don't go to class for the discussions, then don't expect to pass. But, I did learn a lot.
Not sure why everyone is so hard on him. Seems like a lot of people do not like to have 2 participate in class discussions, which he expects. Like everyone else does say - his tests are tuff. But, a lot of people had trouble because they did not go to class - and since his tests are 5050 from book and discussions - well - you figure it out.
Definitely tough tests. But gives a lot of understanding into the business world. Great examples for discussion points. But, as others said, if you don't go to class, listen and participate in the discussions you will definitely have a challenge with his exams. Yes, at this point my grade is low, but must admit he is fair and would take again.
Clear cut instructions on how to do team project - major part of your grade. Tough, but overall, fair tests if you have gone to class and read text.
He isn't a bad teacher, but he is super boring. Lectures that could have been 20 minutes turned into over an hour. He did give tons of extra credit, but he asks confusing questions in class and never changes his mind even when the class disagrees with him. Beware of a miserable group project as well.
If you are a #'s person, or only think 'inside the box', then go with a different prof. Tough professor, tough team assignment, but did learn a lot about thinking outside of the box.
Has his own teaching style. Takes time to understand his approach to teaching. Have problems - go to him b-cuz he will help. Uses interesting examples to communicate messages, but he is long-winded. But, would take again b-cuz I did learn a lot.
Definitely tough tests and expects a lot from you. Has his own teaching style that requires you to adjust your thinking and learning style. He is fair & honest with students (wish more professors were). I did learn a lot and would take him again.
Has his own style of teaching and you will have to adapt. I went to his office hours on several occasions and he was always available. The end of the semester was better because students spoke up and he started using examples like he would ask on the test to get us on his level- that helped tremendously! Group project was a nightmare
Not sure why all are so hard on him. Definitely tough exams, and a very demanding team project. But, although I did not get the grade that I wanted, must admit I got the grade I deserved. Did learn a lot, and anytime I went to his office he was very helpful. Would take again.
Rough exams and team project, but very helpful if U ask for help, and did learn a lot about business. Would take again even though I wanted a higher grade.
Go 2 him if U need help, he will B there 4 U. Tuff class, but I do believe the lessons will help me in my future career (which is really what matters). His style is different than other profs which is why some seem to be ruff on him, but, that actually forced me to focus more, which helped me learn more. Wuld take again.
Awesome pp slides and real life examples to explain his messages. Definitely knows his stuff. Rough tests, and a challenging team project, but would take again.
Definitely knows his stuff. Awesome PP's. Great class discussion. Would take again. But, yes, his tests are rugged.
Totally unsure why everyone is so hard on this professor. He has a heart of gold and really cares about students. Awesome lectures. Not easy, but did learn a lot.
He is a nice guy that is receptive and available to his students. The lectures are kind of dry. There is a team paper due at the end of the semester. The class somewhat interesting but not dynamic enough to maintain my interest
Expect 2 work, and U must go 2 class. But, good teacher.
* Tough team project * Learning a lot of practical knowledge *Unique teaching style - totally different than my other profs *Helps if you ask *Would take again
I honestly did not care much for the course. It did not really challenge me in the sense that most questions were relatively intuitive. The class can be a complete drag due to how he presents his material. He tries to make it engaging as possible, but the topics did not challenge me. Tests were ambigous, project was dreadful, quizes were child's play
Don't let that Southern persona fool you! He's one of those professors who enjoys making things more complicated than they need to be. Be prepared for weird/mildly insulting nick names and offensive Asian impressions. Lectures are not helpful- just read the book and do the practice quizzes online in Cengage. Extremely difficult group project.
Professor Broyles' marketing class is so difficult and boring. He wasted a lot of time talking about irrelevant stories during lectures and repeated the same stories. His exams were so confusing. He said, "If you carefully the read questions, you can get right answers" but I am not sure it really worked for anyone. I wouldnt take his class again!
Definitely a tough team project, but it is a great learning experience. Although he is rigorous, he does clearly describe assignments. But do them, or you will have problems. As a Finance student, I dreaded taking the class. But, in looking back, I would take him again.
His class was the only class I enjoyed. His stories during the lectures were very helpful and interesting. Short ppt slides, so you can read and go through his ppt together. Attendance is not mandatory but you should come because 50% of the exam come from in-class lectures. Read the book before the exams.
Tough project - but admit that as a Finance major that I learned from it. Don't go to glass, don't expect to pass. I always found him to be accessible whenever I needed. Would take again.
some tests and quizzes, one big group project, interesting lectures
Put in effort in this class but the group project/final were tough. Extrmly tough grader on projects. Read the guidelines, he's no joke. Got knocked -20 pts for 3 sentences over the max. Exams 1/2 lectures, 1/2 textbook. The questions are very conceptual, really need to analyze. Did enjoy this class a lot, interesting lectures. Will learn a lot
Great a Professor! You will learn a lot from him. Get ready to read the book before any exam because there is no study guide. If you don't like to go to class don't take him because you will probably fail the test, 1/2 of his test are based on class discussions and the other 1/2 is based on the book. If marketing is your major I would recommend him
So far this class is interesting but the exams are tough. He really reiterates how important the group project is, gonna be tough. They're tricky test questions that you really have to think about, at least from the discussion based questions. First midterm I didn't read the book, only watched the videos, got a C. YOU MUST READ THE BOOK TO DO WELL!
Don't go to class and you won't pass. Lots of discussions, so get ready to join. Tough, but must admit that I learned a lot about real life business.
Tests are based from his lectures and the book. You must attend because he will use his life stories in the test. Tests can be tricky, pay attention to his wording. He grades his group project hard, but follow instructions and you'll do fine. Yeah he tends to ramble, but his life stories are inspirational. I would ramble too if I lived his life.
Professor Broyles enjoys having discussions in class so get ready to talk. He throws his life stories into the lessons to make it interesting but side track stories can carry on for a while. The group project is awful if you have a bad group (I did). The in-class test questions are almost reverse psychology. Make sure you critically read them.
Half of tests are based on class discussion, so go to class or you won't pass. Very tough group project, but follow the guidelines and you will do fine. Sometimes he does ramble, but his real life examples make the class interesting and helped me learn. Would take again.
Great Professor, but extremely hard grader when it comes to the group project. Tests and quizzes are pretty much straightforward. He has a lot of great stories from his years of work experience
To sum up this class, you will probably get a B without putting too much studying in. Just go over the highlights at the end of the textbook chapters. Make sure your group actively works on the assigned project because it is worth a lot. Overall, he is a very funny guy and makes lectures memorable.
Awesome lectures, and the professor uses his real life experiences which helped me understand many topics better. Yes, I would take again.
Tests are tough. Take time to read the questions, or you will get them wrong. Tough group project, but good experience. Learned a lot of real life knowledge due to his use of real life experiences to help us understand topics. Would recommend.
His lectures are heavy and he does not curve the grades. Talks a lot about his personal life. Makes it boring to concentrate the whole three hours. Exams are tough.
Professor Broyles use of his business experiences are helping me understand the topics better. I am an Accounting student and did not want to take a Marketing class, but he is helping me understand why Marketing is important for me to understand. Definitely recommend him.
Get ready to fall asleep during lectures. However, if you actually stay awake and listen, you'll find that the stuff he says makes sense & will help you understand the material better. In-class discussions are important because they're on the exams. Group project is important & super hard, so be sure to put all your effort on that. He is fair.
His lectures are interesting and I learned a lot, but the lectures are long. Very difficult team project, but if a team member is of no value and the team lets him know, the professor will ensure that person gets a lower score than the others. Overall: Tough, fair, and cares.
Avoid!!! 3 exams, you have to pay $15 for an online market live game, group project that worth more than exam or finals. He assigned group and if you got a bad group you are out of luck! Lectures are long and into depth.
Take time to read and understand exam questions, because they are questions that make you think. He finds a way to help if you need to meet with him during non-office hours - he sure did for me. His assignments are tough, but he is fair in grading. With this professor - you must earn the grade. Overall, quite good.
Talks so much that you almost sleep. You cannot pass if you skip his class. Talks a lot about his life. You are stuck forever if you get a wrong group for the project.
Not too bad of a class. He picks on people sitting in the back row. exams are half from the book and half examples he talks about in class (not on powerpoint). final exam is nothing like his study guide. overall one of the better upper division classes ive taken.
Expect to participate, because he randomly asks people questions. He is a tough grader, but is fair - my team was very upset with our 71% on the team project, but must admit we deserved it. Overall, a solid choice.
Overall one of the better classes I have taken. Not easy, but great presentations and class discussions, and I actually learned a lot through his talks about personal career experiences.
Has 3 exams, 4 quizzes, a group project, and online assignments. A VERY tough grader when it comes to the project. He picks the teams randomly. Make sure the project flows smoothly. Exams are tough. 1/2 on lecture & 1/2 on textbook. Words the questions in a tricky manner. Do not miss class! Attendance can give you 4% extra credit!
Overall, a good professor. He is tough on grading, but is fair. There is a team project, and he selects the members of teams. But, we had a member who did almost zero, we reported that on evaluations, and that person got a very low score. Would take again, but don't fall behind on projects in this class.
Go to class and participate in discussions. That really helped me learn in this professors class. His group project and exams are tough, but if he feels like a class is trying to learn, he will find a way to help them out if grades are too low.
This was the toughest A that I have even gotten. Tough team project, and really sticks to his policies. But, I definitely learned a lot about Marketing and business overall from this professor. I would take again.
Boring lectures. Group project thats graded extremely hard. Exams that arent covered in lecture. Final includes random questions from the semesters lectures. Found him unhelpful during office hours.
Don't go to class -> you won't pass this professor's class, because half of each exam is based on in-class discussions. But, is interesting. Sure a lot don't like his class, but they are usually students who only want to get a grade by memorizing the book. Would take again.
3 Tests & 1 group project with extra credit. Tests are difficult but a B is guaranteed if you listen, study a little, & participate in class. Prof Broyles makes class interesting and entertaining for the most part, & knows a lot about marketing. He is extremely willing to help students, but grades the project hard. It is a shame he is retiring
The professor really sticks to the syllabus and project instructions, so read them closely. But, he really knows Marketing and makes class very interesting, and his career experience enables him to provide real world understanding. Yes, he is tough, but I would take him again because he is good.
Professor Broyles is definitely tough, grades hard, tough team project, half of the exams are based strictly on his lectures (so, just reading the book won't save you), but must admit he is very good and I learned a lot.
This professor is definitely tough. But, this professor is definitely good. It is a shame that he is retiring, because he taught me a lot.
He definitely knows the class and is very wise when it comes to Marketing. During my class experience, however, I felt that he would go off on tangents. Eventually, I understood everything he says ties into the lecture. He tries to put things in ways students would understand. He "lectures" but really tries to involve students into the conversation
Toughest A that I ever got in my life. He really sticks to and syllabus and project guidelines, so do not ask for special consideration for anything - you won't get it. But, I am proudest of this A because I really earned it, and actually learned a lot in the process. Would take again.
Interesting class and his lectures were great. But TAKE NOTES ON EVERYTHING HE SAYS. There will be questions on his exams based on his opinions on the chapters. Read the book and UNDERSTAND the concept because his exams are CRITICAL THINKING now. TOUGH TOUGH grader on the project. Personal advice: Study the chapter the same week he teaches.
One of the best professors I ever had.
For being a intro to marketing class, it was such a difficult class than other professors. He applies real world situations into his lectures which is great, but when it comes to exams, his questions are very hard. The group project either brings your grade up or down, and you don't get to choose your members. Stay disciplined in this class.
NO book made the class more interesting, because exams were strictly based on in-class discussions. Exams are tough, so take them serious. Challenging team project. You must take prof. Broyles class serious - and go to class - or you won't pass. Would take again because I learned a lot.
He's a decent professor. He's caring in the fact that he wants you to gain valuable skills. He teaches well and some of his slides help the students to relax. For his exams, he wants you to READ the questions and to think about them. Don't buy the textbook because it wasn't used. There is a group project and he selects the team randomly.
Don't waste your money on a textbook, because this professor does not use one. Everything on exams is based on class discussions. Definitely challenging exams, and if you do not take time to read and understand questions, you will have a big challenge. Tough team project, but my team members were great. I learned a lot.
Take his directions and instructions seriously, and attend class because tests are only based on class discussions, otherwise you will fail. But, is good. Would take again as I did learn.
Several test questions are based on his opinions, but most are based on reading the book. Overly tough grader on the project. If he doesnt like your topic, hell grade you poorly no matter how well youve executed. Very unhelpful during office hours - dont bother, its almost like youre signaling yourself out for him to grade you harder.
He cares a lot about his students (tough grader). He will push his students to help them prepared for a challenging life after college. His exams are super hard, so take the right notes in class. When he comes to his lecture, there is fantastic because he has a great connection.
Toughest tests and group project I ever had. But, one of the best classes I ever had because I learned a lot about business. He cares about students, but is tough. I would definitely take again.
Tough teacher, challenging classes, exams & team project, but must admit he is fair. I wanted an A, got a C. But, it was the grade I deserved. Would take again.
Grading criteria vary vague and hard to pinpoint. Tough grader because the group project got really bad scores for its simplicity. Wants short and to the point but criticizes when you do not explain thoroughly. Most people did not even get a passing grade on the first part. Exams tough but lets you work in groups. Questions really make you think
This professor has absurd grading standards for the amount he actually 'teaches'. Class is mandatory since everything is based off lectures, but will not help since he gets so off topic.
Don't waste your money on a textbook because he does not use one. Exam are based on class discussions. Miss class and you likely won't pass.
Broyles is a tough grader. He didn't go over the group project much but graded it awfully hard, which was a thing the whole class agreed on. He is kind and teaches well but does grade hard. Everything on the test is based on things he discussed in class; therefore, you will not pass if you don't show up. Overall he is great but makes you work.
Boring lectures. Extremely unprofessional, goes off topic all the time. Not very nice to guests. Drags on after class time is over.
Broyles assigns a difficult team project, and his grading is tough. Get started early on that project or your grade will take a big hit. He does understand Marketing and cares about students.
Tough grader. Great slides and discussions. Difficult team project. Great teacher who cares about students.
Only now 5 years after graduation can I look back and realize how much I learned from Dr. Broyles. Not only did I learn about marketing, I also learned about how to do marketing in my job today. Sad he retired.
