He's very straight forward. The class contains a lot of material that is covered in a short period of time. The class itself is very stressful, but Chen is a good, energetic teacher who keeps me awake at early in the morning.

well,I liked him as an instructor:intresting, energetic, crazy....but he knows so much, he's so into it, and he expects U to know everything, even thoug biology is not ur priority.tons of info, lectures are so fast, tests are hard.

He is a really fun teacher. His lectures are very interesting. He is loud and full of energy. The only problem is his tests are hard especially his practicals. Take him if you are willing to commit time to study.

Master Chen is the man, I love him. He is sooo smart he is a genius. But this class is very hard, but it is excellent for students who need to know anatomy for their careers. I promise you after this class you will remember what you learned and be succesful in what you do b/c of your knowledge from him. Also he is sooo funny his stories are awesome

Yes, you can really learn from him, but he seems to enjoy making the students squirm when it comes to the exams and lab precticals. He is well organized and knows his material. I would never take his class again. Somewhat arrogant and totally unsympathetic toward students. You quickly tire of his obsessions with Kung Fu stuff and wife stories.

if u are looking for a class that can really prepare u for ur future career this is the one, he is one of the best teachers that i ever had but very difficult,he is fun but there is just to much info.The only way anybody can pass is if u just dont have a life (literally),no b/f or g/f no nothing u literally nead 2 breath,speak,dream, anatomy.

I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I took this teacher, but it was well worth it in the end. I took him for both anatomys and it's awesome. This is said only if you want to learn stuff. Compared to someone who might be getting an A with a dif. teacher for the same thing. Take Chen cause in the end you'll actually learn something.

He is an awesome teacher but a hard tester! You learn so much in this class and so far this has been one of the hardest classes that I've taken but it has been well worth the time and effort!

He is a really good teacher, but his class is extremely HARD. Why take him when you can take an easy teacher like Brooks? He expects way too much. He flys through the lectures. His tests are impossilbe. He tells us we have to study about 20-25 hours a week just for his class to get an A. That is ****ed up!

Mr. Chen is is a really fun teacher but a HARD grader!It would be impossible to fall asleep in his class b/c he makes lectures interestng but there is just too much studying!!!To get an A in this class you would have to study day & night(no j/k)

Hes a great teacher, he is hard, but it is worth it. you will know EVERYTHING by the end of the class. I highly recommend him, i am taking his next class also. He says you need to study 18+hours a week, and to pass you do, but i studied and got an A

His class is crazy-hard. Not only does he expect you to memorize hundreds of different little facts, but he also expects you to waste your days away at the open lab where you can study models for the lab practicals. It's ridiculous. If it can't be learned in class alone, he shouldn't test on it. He's a really cool guy, but his tests are very tough.

Mr.Chen is such a great teacher. I liked the toughness and the competition of the class. the only people that complain about the hardwork are the ones that didn't get a good grade. I like this because if you want to be a nurse you should know your stuff.

Prof. Sam Chen is A GREAT INSTRUCTOR! We learned FAR MORE in this class than BIO182 (student concensus). Class moves fast, but covers many key topics and in-depth. You will really learn a lot in this class with Professor Chen's excellent instruction and his close involvement with all students. Material on exams is what is covered in class.

Chen is a good teacher if you're goal is to learn anatomy. if you want a good grade, run for your life. 70% of my class dropped out b/c they couldn't study 15+ hours/week. he makes anatomy about as interesting as it can be, and don't be alarmed if he starts running around the room, he's hilarious.

Run for your GPA. Drop the class because he's really HARD. Do not take Chen,Hackett & Timmons..They all have no life!!! all they do is to give all student hard time. Very slim chances of getting an "A"

The only people who drop Chen's class are the people who are too lazy to do work. Chen is a great teacher and I never learned so much in one class. I would recommend Chen to whoever wants to learn a lot and do good in their profession. Brilliant Man. Great Teacher.

This teacher does know alot about anatomy, but the class is very hard!! Be prepared to study. Quiz's and tests are very hard also. He is entertaining and tries to make you motivated.

We laughed alot for a science class. Out of 33 students, 7 of us took the final. The class demands alot. He tells you the first day to study 15-20 hours a week for an A and he's not joking even though everyone thought he was. Tests are ridiculously hard, but they're departmental. Overall would recommend for anyone willing to learn. Great teacher

Chen is AMAZING! I love this man and I have never laughed SO HARD when it came to Anatomy! He's a very intelligent man and does expect a lot out of u. You HAVE TO STUDY EVERY SECOND OF YOUR LIFE for this class. Put you life to the side until you finish this class, and then you can press play after this is done. I love him to death! he is awesome. he does everything to help us succeed, even fixing the grade scale. go to class, make an effort and hell be willing to help you. do the labs, easy 240 points and will help on exams. study early and study often. the class is hard but thats bc of the dept. help yourself and hell help you! dont cheat, you'll get an automatic F

Best story teller! So funny and keeps u awake and has your attention the whole time! He try's to make anatomy fun but his material is very difficult..you must be fast paced and have a lot of time to sacrifice 4 this class.

What can I say, Mr. Chen is awesome!! He does everything possible to help his students, and he really cares about their grades! Im not gonna lie, his class is VERY hard, but if you put in the time and effort and A is not impossible at all! I would recommend him to anyone that really wants to know their stuff when theyre done.

Mr Chen is an excellent teacher. He is teaching some really tough stuff, but he explains everything really well and does his best to help his students however he can. If you are going to take his class, make sure you have the time for it. I got an A, but i put in a lot of effort. If you try to breeze through his class, you will probably fail it.

First off the semester is still going but for the people who are choosing classes for spring this class is so not a blowoff lets get that straight im pushing a high B but half the class is already gone he even felt bad and changed the grading scale an 85 is an A. If you want a good grade your going to have to put in work its no joke

Chen is an AMAZING teacher!! Knows his A&P very well! One of the best personalities ive seen in a teacher at MVCC so far. He is so hilarious and uses great analogies to help you better understand the material. I'm not going to lie, the class is hard.. but it definitely possible to get an A! An A in his class starts at an 85%! TAKE CHEN!!!!

The hardest teacher i have ever had at Moraine. Took a year of anatomy back in hs and graduated with an A. Chen is a great teacher but his requirements are way too high. No matter how much you study you never come out with an A. Questions on his tests are never based on his notes. He also puts short answer questions on the test. Very Hard class.

Chen is a great teacher but his class is too hard. If your going to take his class expect it to be very difficult. Great job to those who pass his class though I don't know how u did it u must have studied 24/7 !!

Your experience with Chen will vary depending on what you want to get out of the class. If you're going in looking for an easy A, take someone else. If you wish to rise from the ashes of your studying agony with a new and godly knowledge of anatomy, look no further. Highly recommended if you're motivated and planning on pre-med/advanced nursing.

The only one thing I would say is "You need to study a lot!!!" His exams are very general but you need to know its best, he loves steps!! He has the best knowledge and explain it very well.

Chen is a great teacher and truly wants all his students to succeed. He does expect you to work for the success! Listen carefully in class and know the material inside and out. Not a class for an "easy A" but a great class to truly learn A&P. Chen is always willing to help you through his class!

Mr. Chen is a very good teacher. He is a veryyy smart man and he knows what he is talking about. No doubt, you have to work very hard to get in A in his class though. He gives a lot of notes and you have to study A LOT! If you want to learn a lot take him! STUDY STUDY STUDY! you literally cant miss a class either you'll be very lost.

The best professor at MVCC. Yes he is hard, but any A&P class is hard. There is room for soo much points its not even funny. You can do average on exams and still pull off an A. For his class, 85% or higher is an A. He eliminates questions from exams if lots get it wrong. He is the best. I miss him.

Its a very hard class but I also learned the most in his class. Highly recommended if you want to learn anatomy. I would suggest for slow note takers to bring an audio recorder to tape classes.

Chen is a VERY hard teacher. DON'T blow off the bluedoor labs. His notes are fast paced and general so print out the objectives for labs and practicals and do the worksheets like homework! Do not take him if you are not going to study and put 110% into it. In the begining, my class was full and we finished with 8 people.

Professor Chen is an Excellent professor!! Yes you have to read and study people (grow up this is college). I felt very prepared to move on to a PA program after taking classes with him!!! If u are serious about school take him! You will learn a lot!!!

I do think Mr. Chen is a great teacher! Yes, the class is NOT easy and you have to really work on it in order to get a good grade! But after having finished this course, you will earn a lot of useful knowledge about general Bio which will be very helpful if you intend to take any higher level Bio courses! Take him!!!

Professor Chen is easily the best teacher I have had at Moraine. His mastery of anatomy can be intimidating at times, but if you do not understand something, ask and he will make sure it is clarified for you. Anatomy is not easy and he recognizes that, however he pushes you to work hard because he cares about the success of his students.

Chen is an amazingly devoted teacher. He actually became a nurse to better understand his students. His class is hard but he will spend time to help you if you ask. By the end of the semester you will know your stuff. Only take him if you really care about the class.

Professor Chen's class might not be the easiest, but most likely you will learn the most. I didn't miss one class and studied as much as I could and still ended up with a 'B'. My mistake was not getting the book from the beginning. He makes you write out learning objectives for homework which literally takes forever.

Laughing at the others about not learning anything- learned the most in this class! Just need to put in the work! The main frustrating part is he would never answer a question straight, but would always make me work for it. Agree his courses are tough but you get what you put into it. No freebies here! Other person must have missed classes.

I took Bio 115 with Chen doing the lecture portion online & with Placas doing the Lab portion in the classroom. I will admit Professor Chen does really make you study and retain the information, but after taking this class I feel very prepared for pursuing a nursing degree. He is very good at answering emails quick and is willing to help students!

I took the 4 work summer session with him. Chen teaches through powerpoints and a good amount of group exercises on the white board. Labs are fairly easy and class usually ends an hours or 2 early. This isn't an easy A, you need to WORK HARD and read all the chapters that are required. Exams are easy if you read the book, quizzes got me to a B.

This guy is amazing. People may say that he is much to difficult or he failed them, but that is just cause they did not show up to class or complete their work. This guy has the best lectures, is super caring about his job, and really inspired me to do better.

It's an extremely interesting class and it's a privilege to work on these human bodies. You get very up close and personal with the cadavers however, Professor Chen guides you through the process and teaches you while you dissect the cadaver. You learn a lot and it can become overwhelming but it is what is inside you which is awesome!

Whoever gave bad ratings are the students who ditched class and dont want to learn. BEST professaaa ever! Changed the way I feel about anatomy and I will never forget the learning experience I got. Really cares about you being successful and making sure you dont just learn but you UNDERSTAND. I would retake this class for fun in the future.

I had the pleasure of having Chen as my professor for bio 182 and 183. The experience in the cadaver lab is one I will never forget. Professor Chen is very caring and easy going do not be intimidated by his intelligence he is there to guide you.

I took the bio anatomy cadaver class with chen and it was the best class I've taken at mv. very personable professor who made sure that this was a great learning experience. learned so much from this class. Would love to take it again. chen works with another prof. underhill who is a trip. both make it a fun class.

Professor Chen is overall a really good teacher. The class was tough but in the end I appreciated the work we had to put in to retain the information. Definitely watched all of his YouTube anatomy videos right before a lab exam for a refresher and its very helpful. Be ready to read, take your own notes, and do all the assignments to pass.

These bad reviews have to be students trying to gatekeep this professor! I cant comprehend how anyone would give Chen less than 5 stars. This is literally the best Professor I have ever had throughout my entire undergraduate studies. He is so understanding, caring, and easy to work with. Show up to class and turn your work in and youll get an A.

Great professor and very educated. His videos for anatomy are excellent, and homework allows unlimited tries for full points. To pass the exams, you must truly understand the concepts, because some questions are applied to real-life scenarios.

He's a great professor, funny, and he really knows his stuff. If you're lazy or put in low effort, this class isn't for you. It requires a lot of time and independent study. But if you're willing to put in a little work, you'll be fine.
