Took for A&P 1. He's fairly new but he's alright. I felt like I could've taken this class online and made a better grade though. He drops your lowest test and qui grade which is cool but he reads off the slides the whole time. I learned more from studying on my own time. That's what you'll have to do in this class, more than usual.
A&P II lab. Overall, a good class and prof! He tried really hard to keep the material interesting and shared lots of useful memorization tips. Just do the worksheets and be sure to study for the midterm and final!
I thought he was a fairly decent teacher. He taught what we needed to know and seemed to leave out all the stuff that was unnecessary. His tests are pretty straight forward. Study the slides and you will do fine! He gives easy quizes and extra credit on each exam, as well as drops the lowest. I enjoyed this class.
Fist of all, Im trying to get his chili pepper back for him. He is funny and makes AP as interesting as he can. This isnt an easy course, so like any other, you only get out of what you put in it. He is tough but fair. If you dont study outside of the classroom, you are doomed. Thats AP.
This guy is amazing! He has a "knee slap" type of humor and he throws in jokes from movies and TV shows a lot. He use to play football so he has a lot of sports analogies for terms. He is always willing to help out in any way he can. He tells you what will be on midterm and final. Keep up with your work and you'll do fine.
Had him for lab and lec, great teacher! Too bad he's not teaching again or I would have taken him for AnP 2! Tests are easy as long as you study some, lab was by far the most difficult.
This Professor is amazing! I actually learned so many things, this professor made everything so easy to understand. All you have to do is go to lectures and pay attention, take notes (simple notes, nothing crazy). He lectures from his power points but he makes it fun and interesting. He is super helpful and wants all his students to learn!!!
awesome teacher just go to class and take notes and the test will be a breeze
Professor Gleaton, although a nice person was a lower than par Professor. He was consistently behind during lecture and rushed through or skipped chapters because they were just "memorization" chapters. One lecture he went through 107 slides bypassing anything and stopping only on the pictures to quickly go over what he wanted to. do not recommend
he's a funny guy. His humor is strange, but he is passionate about what he does. He gives you all the information you could ever need and more. Just don't expect to leave lecture early. He teaches until the last minute every time.
TERRIBLE! He doesn't cover everything in class. He expects you to know the material. Skims through the PowerPoints, and expect it to still be on the exam. He slacks when it comes to posting grades for any exams. Very sarcastic, and barely responds to emails. Would not recommend him. He seriously makes this class 100x harder then what it should be.
Prof Gleaton knows that most of students who take his class are going into the medical field. He is a tough grader and a no-nonsense professor because of it. He keeps you to the very last minute every single week of lecture, because he wants to impress upon you how much you need to know this info. He IS a hard teacher. You WILL earn your grade.
First of all, he is my 2nd favor Pros. at TCC. If you do not apply yourself you will struggle in this class. His lec are funny to be in and his labs are just as entertaining. Book is not needed for lec but yes for lab. (I didn't buy one, just the learn smart) but I might have gotten an A if I bought it. I learned a great deal in his class!!!!
Non-Majors bio. Good lecturer that explains clearly and is passionate. You have an online homework for each chapter & a quiz OR homework for each lab. Assignments do help study for tests but take a little bit of time. Group project at the end of class with a group/topic of your choice. 4 Lecture tests, 1 final and two lab tests.
You do not need to get the book but you do need to get the learnsmart code. Also as long as you do the learnsmart and study his PowerPoint you should do fine on his teat. Also obviously get the lab book
Prof. Gleaton is easily one of my favorite instructors at TCC. He is so funny and passionate. Although A&P 1 was very challenging, he gave us all of the tools we need for success in his class. There were 16 online quizzes, 6 Lec. exams, 3 Lab exams, and then the final which was cumulative. I recommend buying the lab book, it is very helpful.
I had him for Lab 1408 and he was so funny! He is pretty straight forward on what to expect, but his lectures are a bit unorganized and confusing. However, he was always quick to respond to my questions and emails. 4 quizzes(5 questions) and two lab tests. Apply yourself and you will get an A
If you decided to zone on on a class you will be so confused , everything stacks up on another topic. He is a great professor in thoroughly explaining the material. The online homework will keep in in check and make sure you understand the material needed. It's not a walk of a breeze course so make sure you pay attention in every class.
Professor Gleaton gives his students nothing but the best. I highly recommend him if you want to learn biology and anatomy.
I was always afraid to take my Science courses but when I took Biology 1408 with Professor Gleaton that fear faded away. He was so helpful and made science cool. I wish I could take him again, it was So good! You have homework thats due online before each test. 4 test and a group presentation at the end.
Anatomy & Physiology is a hard class in general, but Prof. Gleaton makes it fun! His lecture exams are well written and easier than lab exams. I would recommend Prof. Gleaton to everyone. Im taking him again for A&P II
GREAT PROF.! Especially for such a difficult course. He makes it alot easier than most teachers. Pay attention to the powerpoint/lecture. He gives a review and he gives extra credit. Don't take his class for granted, you gotta work hard and study but he makes it a lot easier than the others. Taking him again for sure for A&P2!!! Can't wait!
Study PP and attend class he emphasizes the most important material that is likely to be on the test. Most of the people on here didn't attend class and just waited for the material to be uploaded. AP is a hard class in general, and takes effort. He made it easy with his passion and goofiness which made lectures fun and easier to learn.
Proffesor Gleaton is a great teacher! He definitely makes it a lot easier than other A&P teachers. Although, I will say he isn't very organized and is late quite often. This class is pretty tough and challenging. His test are not too bad. Just study study study and you will be fine. Taking him for A&P 2.
Amazing professor! Very passionate and knowledgeable on the material. Will weave stories, experiences, and clinical material into his lectures. He's funny and not a dry, just the facts professor. A&P is a tough class and requires a lot of work, but he makes this class so much more enjoyable. Glad I got to have him for both semesters!
Gleaton is very passionate on his lectures and makes things not dry by adding funny remarks by helping us remember things. He gives study guides on the chapters he goes over for the test. Definitely by taking this class don't expect anything to be handed to you, this goes for all science classes. Def take him, extra cred, never dry moments.
Took Professor Gleaton for both semesters and he was a pretty solid Professor. He is always willing to help. Class can get overwhelming at times and is not easy. This class requires a lot of outside studying. Had him for Lab/Lec and his exams are ok as long as you do your part and study PP. Has Pearson modules, do them they are for extra credit!
Mr. Gleaton is a funny guy his class is hard but you have to study study study his letures are a little heavy but he wants to make sure you understand the material I had him for lab and lecture his lab tests are pretty easy and lectures test were harder in my opinion I've had easier bio teachers than him but his not bad I would take him again.
This professor puts a LOT of work into his classes. He's tough in A&P, but that's because the class is hard, and he wants to make sure we're prepare to be great healthcare providers. He's very smart, but he'll be the first to tell you how much he still wants to learn. If you need extra help, go to office hours. Very approachable and helpful!
This class is already hard enough and he makes it 100 times more difficult rather than trying to help his students. Tests are so tricky and he puts so much critical thinking in his questions. When you ask for help and study techniques he claims you should memorize the power points which are extremely long.
All the reviews seemed positive, but maybe he changed his teaching style since last semester because I felt like he was a horrible professor. His tests for lab and lecture felt like a bunch of trick questions designed to trip you up, which made it very hard to prepare for his tests. I don't recommend taking him for lecture or lecture!!
Had a 7am lecture for BIO, and he was pretty chill. When I managed to stay awake he was funny and an overall good guy. Lecture heavy with 4 test, not including the final. He drops your lowest test grade at the end of the sem. There were 2 easy presentations and a paper that really boost your grade. 2 50 question write-in lab test that are easy.
If you love busy work and taking very tricky tests then take this professor. Blows through a whole PowerPoint each class then has you do these case map studies where you have to map out the clinical part of the sections. Every test is critical thinking along with tricky answer choices and has no remorse over if you pass or fail. DO NOT TAKE!!
Arrogant, self centered teacher. Tries to trick you on every test and quiz. Will mark you wrong for even missing one part of a word. Doesn't understand that students are here to learn, not to prove how much they already know.
don't take
Don't be fooled by the good reviews. This guy shouldn't be a teacher. Tricks his students because he thinks making them work extra harder will help them learn. A&P is already a hard class as it is. There's no need to make it harder for your students to learn the material. I've taken alot of classes at TCC and he's by far the worse one I've had.
I loved his jokes in class and they kept us focused and away. Even though he made jokes they were related to what we were learning and never distracted us. He was also organized and always prepared to answer questions and if he didn't know something he would research it and get back to us the next class.
Gleaton is a great guy and he honestly cares about his student learning. He tries in so many ways to drill material into the student's head. No extra credit because all the homework is participation grades. Additionally do not buy the book for this class it is automatically included in Pearson and his powerpoints are all you need
This class was moved online. Tough in 5 weeks online, but he made it fun! Posted lectures online, Pearson homework modules, exams. 15 points extra credit for doing Pearson work. Very understanding prof. Gives students every chance to succeed. TAKE HIM!!!!
Professor Gleaton's class is very straightforward. I had him for A&PI,he was very accessible outside of class, provided helpful feedback. During lab, he always ensured you understood something before moving on to a different topic. Don't miss class because he teaches and simplifies things down so well, it will help your grade.
Great prof, really cares and wants to help his students. Anyone who says otherwise is mad because he's harder than high school. For real, I don't know why they think A&P (2nd year science) is gonna be easy. He's tough because he wants us to be good with patients. I wouldn't want the people who give this guy a '1' to take care of me or my fam.
Put so much effort into making the class online friendly. Always wants to answer questions. The class is tough, but so is healthcare. I had to retake the class, but I am way better prepared for nursing school. He's funny too, like in a dad jokes kind of funny.
Love him! The class is hard but he is straight forward in what to study and is always willing to help. The content is hard so work for the grade you want. I took him for anatomy 1 and 2 and I was able to get an A.
I am taking him through duel enrollment and his expectations are unbelievable. All of his note material is very basic but high level and then his tests are proctored and you are not even allowed to use notes. He has so many assignments due weekly and I feel like I cannot keep up. Good luck.
Im taking his class right now and I hate it. We are being held at a much higher standard and hes not teaching us enough for what hes asking for. Hes very serious about the proctor exams which I feel like is ridiculous seeing that other students taking the same course do not and have open note test. All his grades are just test and quizzes.
Great prof. Always willing to help students. Anyone in his class saying otherwise either doesn't want to do the work, or hasn't emailed him asking for help. Oh yeah, btw, most COLLEGE biology classes don't allow open note tests. Just sayin.
Hahaha, just wow. Ignore the noise. This dude cares about his students and biology. College biology is hard. Just ask him for help. You dont even have to be in his class. I wasnt, and he still helped me. Then I switched to him for second semester.
Dual Credit Biology. Took a while to get started in the beginning (online with Covid), but evened out. At the end of the semester, though, starting later caught up to us as we had several exams in the last two weeks of class. He gives you A LOT of extra credit to help your grade - utilize it! Take control of your work/studying and youll do great!
Great professor! Puts a lot of work into the virtual lectures and labs. Responds very quickly to questions and cares enough to schedule as many virtual meetings as you want to go over the material.
Gives great feedback! Dont wait until the end of the semester to start asking for help. Start asking for help the first week!
Professor Gleaton is awesome! Class is hard, but he does such an amazing job teaching. You'll earn your grade and laugh a lot!
Do the work. A&P is hard. But hes awesome.
Great professor! Always willing to help as much as you need!
Always replied to emails ASAP, which was very important in a virtual class. Very helpful if you ask for it.
Glad I switched to him for second semester! Great professor!
The professor is great! A&P is HARD. So, some students who couldn't handle the challenge sometimes blame the professor. Don't listen to them. He does his best to help you!
Great professor! Hard class, but he always has time to help!
So glad I had him for both semesters! Great professor!
A&P is hard, but this professor is great! He is always available to help!
So glad I asked him for help starting the first week. It's worth it, and he's great!
So glad I took him! Tough class, but puts so much more work into the class than my other professors.
Super awesome professor. Took AP 2 lab with him and we had to switch to online halfway through because of COVID and he handled it well. That being said, his lab tests test your critical thinking! Don't take his class if you're gonna slack off and blame it on him in your review!
Tough class, but great professor!
Great professor! Glad I took him for both semesters!
So glad I took this professor for the online courses during the pandemic. Class is tough, but then again, it should be if you're going to treat patients. Professor is always willing to spend time helping!
Im a university student and took this class at tcc thinking it would be easy. I was better off taking it at my university. Everything is proctored and what is said on his lectures didn't even cover what was on most of the tests. Lab quizzes were even worse. Definitely recommend taking a&p1 with another professor.
He will deduct points for the smallest things. LIKE EYE LASH EXENTIONS!!! Lab quizzes are horrible theyre fill in the blank 50 questions 50 minutes no time to think or process. Save your time and money
Although you know the material, you're more than likely going to fail. Why? because he doesn't know how to proctor a test. If you have long lashes, room is dim, look down at your keyboard, do a full 360 of the room and forget to scan your feet you failed already. Ive never had to drop a class before.
WORST PROTORIO GRADER. ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING WILL COUNT AGAINST YOU. 50 questions for lab quizzes 50 minutes no spare time to think or even type the answer. RIDICULOUS
Hopefully in person with him is better than online, but hes the least compassionate, or realistic professor when it comes to online testing. He takes care 15 points off if you webcam isnt in the perfect spot for his liking. He thinks were robots & shouldnt move period. Waste of my money because of him.
Do not waste your time! He is completely ridiculous when it comes to the proctored exams. Deducts points for the smallest things. I've taken 3 other proctored classes and never had points deducted until him. His quizzes are also stressful for no reason and he gives 50 fill in the blank questions on his lab tests. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone
Literally took a good amount of points off of my exam for being too close to the camera??????????????? Which caused me to end the class off being A FEW DECIMAL POINTS AWAY from an A. Couldn't even help me out and round the grade up. I'm still so extremely pissed about this. It wasn't fair to me at all.
Anatomy & Physiology 2 is hard regardless. But if you need this class, Gleaton is the best. You can tell he truly loves what he does, and is super knowledgeable. All the people complaining above, are lazy. He makes you realize how "Perfect" we actually are, systemically. Yes finished with a B, I could have done better. Not him. Corny jokes beware.
I took biology for non majors and he was wonderful! A+ would totally take a class just for him. He builds time in for questions and just random topics. He really is fun and not that strict. I'm very terrible with anything having to do with a microscope, but he was really helpful. I'm passing with flying colors!
I think he is one of the best professors for A&P. Most of the material on the lecture exams is taught in class, however for lab you have to study and do stuff outside of class. His lecture and lab exams have a set structure, so once you take one you will have a feel for the rest of them. If you want an easy time in A&P in general, take gen chem/bio
His teaching style is educational and also entertaining. He's just a lot of fun to be around.
This was one of my favorite classes because of how much I love learning, and the professor was great!
He may be the best teacher I have had. It's obvious how much he cares for his students and for what he does. He puts in a lot of work to help everyone succeed.
Professor Gleaton is an elite teacher. Period.
A&P is fast and hard, but Mr. Gleaton is very knowledgeable and a great professor.
Great professor! Really tried to connect us with Biology! Loves working with students!
Most patient professor ever! Heard him repeat the same thing several times and never stopped smiling. Great professor!
A&P is hard, but professor Gleaton does everything he can to help you do well. Don't expect A&P to be easy. It's not. But he does all he can to help you do well. Great professor!
A&P is tough, but professor Gleaton is great! Does his best to help, but you HAVE to put in the work.
Great professor! Taking him for A&P 2!
Loved taking A&P 2 with Professor Gleaton! A&P is hard, but he makes time for us whenever he can outside of class. Great professor!
He provides examples with great detail. Very helpful for understanding the concepts!
His teaching style is immensely helpful ! He has great ways to remember difficult concepts !
I enjoyed the way he explains things and uses jokes. I also like how he makes us know the relationship of the material to treating patients.
He explains everything well. He is very patient and takes his time in explaining things over and over.
Prof. Gleaton is a great professor overall. He makes it clear that A&P is a difficult class but provides a lot of advice on how to study and succeed in the class. He is very knowledgeable in the field so don't be afraid to ask questions. There is not much outside work aside from using your time to study and to finish PEARSON module assignments. :)
Makes A&P way harder. Crazy expectations for quiz grades, talks to you over an hour about terms you have never heard in your life! Then you take a quiz, every lab, no notes. labs are tricky. Lecture be ready to memorize the WHOLE chapter powepoint in order to pass. Study guides waste of time, lecture exam is nothing like it.
He himself will tell you in the beginning of the semester that half of the class will drop and he was not telling a lie but I dislike how he stresses to the students that it is a very hard class, many will fail, etc, etc.. Instead of doing that can we get some positive energy or some tips/words of encouragement.
Have quizzes every lab, but does drop one quiz grade. He'll repeat as many times as needed. Quizzes in every lab are tedious because you only have a hour and half to study what he might quiz you over. Lectures, he will repeat every major concept over and over and will help relate everything. Overall, good professor but you have to put in the work.
The professor being available to answer questions during lab helped me clarify things I was confused about. He's always available to answer questions. He's super helpful all the time!
It was simplified in a way that you can understand but also still learn the material. It didn't feel so overwhelming.
I liked that he didn't mind explaining things over and over. Very patient, which I needed.
Everything is well explained. He is patient to take his time to explain things again.
I enjoyed the way he explained and elaborated on things. The jokes make it easier to enjoy class. I also liked how he emphasized the importance of knowing this stuff when it comes to patients.
What helped me learn in this course was that he actually explained things. I liked how he made the material easier to understand with day-to-day language and using examples, which were very helpful.
He reviews material that many in the class are having trouble with. He also reviews with the models in Lab that he'll test with. The lab guides were super helpful. He always walks around during lab to make sure no one is left in the dark.
Knows a lot and always tries to connect to clinical stuff. Makes it easier to see where this is going. Great professor!
A&P is super hard, but Professor Gleaton knows a lot and gives you a lot of ways to earn points. Go to office hours! He can help you so much more if you ask for help. Looking forward to next semester.
Go to office hours! I'm telling y'all, you need to! He breaks down the material, answers questions, and helps go over mistakes. It helped me do way better.
It's funny how people blame someone else when they take a hard class. A&P is HARD! Professor Gleaton will help you, but you have to do the work. I spent time EVERY WEEK reviewing my notes and asking him questions during his office hours. Cramming will NOT work. Think about it - should it be easy to be a nurse!?
Almost halfway through the semester and I wouldn't recommend this professor. I took A&P 1 with another prof and it was no where near as hard as this prof makes it. Theres 3 lab exam, 4 lecture exams. Both consist of 50 questions but for lab, no multiple choice. The question are super tough, and they correlate with what he lectures over.
A&P is super tough, but I'm SO glad I retook it with Professor Gleaton. It's tough, but he tries to prepare you as much as possible. Don't procrastinate like I did the first time round!
Professor Gleaton explains concepts well and goes into as much detail as needed. I love the way he lectures. He makes this course interesting! Put in the work, and you will get the grade you want. It will not come easy but your drive in this class will reflect your grade, not the professor!!!
I had Gleaton for both A&P 1 & 2. I did receive A's both semesters. Needless to say, take professor Gleaton! The class is not easy though. You will have to put in effort for the grade you want but, he is a great professor and explains everything well. He does not mind helping you at his office hours! Take advantage of those. We heart prof Gleaton!
Professor Gleaton is great professor. However, he does tend to get of lecture a bit and tell dad jokes. In lecture you have about 5 exams and mini assignments that boost your grade by not so much. For lab, he has 11 mini quizzes and 3 lab exams. Overall, he gives study guides for both lab and lecture. Butyou have to study because it is a hard class
He was a good teacher, until i noticed that after the first month how behind we are from lecture and lab they never matched up one was ahead a day or even two to three days ahead. Spelling matters, makes a lot of dad jokes but can't sit there and explain what you don't understand well.
The best professor I've taken at TCC so far! Had him for both A&P 1 and 2 and made A's in both. You will have to put in effort outside the classroom but he makes it fun and easy to understand! Plus, his anecdotes and jokes were helpful in keeping me engaged and giving me something to connect the material to. If you have the chance, take him!
Not sure if gonna pass, but that's on me for not taking this serious. Great professor though. Really cares.
Professor Gleaton was an alright professor. Lectures were pretty much reading off PowerPoints and few examples. Labs were very fast paced, if you're a heavy visual learner like I am I would recommend someone else. Lecture tests and Practicals are the majority of your grade. Not very lenient when life comes up. Study guides were not related to tests
Helped a lot during office hours. Really wants to help, so glad went and asked for help.
One of my faves! Offers a lot of help, glad I took it. Really helped me out with some life stuff too.
Oh the dad jokes. Best part is when he knows they didn't work. Always tries to connect the material. Great professor!
Loved this class! Was tough at first, but I persevered. Professor helped a lot.
Loved lab because of getting to work with things like models and dissections. Awesome professor for both lecture and lab!
Favorite class at TCC so far. Hard class, like super hard, but great professor!
Teaching style is clear and engaging. He uses detailed PowerPoints, answers questions, and relates topics to personal experiences. His humor creates a comfortable environment. He's available during office hours and email. Attendance is important for extra credit quizzes. The course is challenging but rewarding, requiring consistent effort and study.
Took for A&P 1 honestly the course alr is so hard, and it didn't help that we covered so much material in 1 class, but professor Gleaton was very helping in answering questions and stuff. He did offer 2 opportunities for extra credit which really helped my grade. Overall good professor. I'm taking him for A&P 2 next semester as well.
Gleaton is an awesome teacher, but studying for exams requires effort. He covers PowerPoints and provides study guides, but it's up to you to attend office hours, SLC, ask questions, and go to SI sessions if you're struggling. These methods are key to success in the course. Hard work will pay off, even with limited personal time.
Loved the jokes! One of the best I've taken at TCC!
Always tries to connect stuff to real life. Always know where I stood in the course. Great professor!
Tough class, but super helpful professor. Homework, quizzes, study guides, all to help for exams. Funny jokes.
Wonderful professor! Helps with questions even outside his office hours. Helps go over past mistakes to learn. Office hours were very helpful!
Not easy class, but professor is caring to help. Provides a lot of helpful materials, but time in office was the most helpful.
Professor Gleaton makes A&P more approachable with his real-world examples and clear explanations. While the class is challenging, using unstuck AI alongside the textbook and office hours can really help you succeed.
This professor is amazing! Considering this is a hard course, he tries to make it easier for you and is always available for office hours. He does give little extra credit also
Very helpful for learning! He always makes time in person and online for us!
He provides plenty of resources and is always available for help. Very helpful for a tough class.
Was very helpful with instructions. Make sure to go to class and office hours!
Always available when needed. Working with a group was very helpful.
Gives great study tips. Relates to real world stuff, like diseases and medicine.
Great explanations during class and office hours. Will always try and clear up confusion. Really cares.
Make sure to use all the things he says to and study stuff he provides.
Was always open to questions, even the same one from somebody not listening. Really cares.
Funny dude, even when the jokes bomb, jokes still help with remembering stuff. Loves helping students.
Lot of helpful stuff like study guides and office hours - use them!
Use all the resources he tells you about - SI, tutors, office hours, all of it. Great prof!
enjoyed every bit of this course!
hard class, but obvious he cares! ask questions!
use all the stuff he tells you to!
don't be afraid to ask questions. it helps!
really keeps us focused during lab, which helped a lot
sometimes had to explains things several times before i got it, seriously, but never gave up on me
go to office hours!!!! that saved me!
Tough course but if you want it bad youll pass! Read everything for lecture
he explained everything as many times as you needed. study and youll do fine
