Take notes, study the notes you take, and attend class lectures and reviews. If you do these things, you WILL get an A! (and he tells great stories)

I would take his class over again just because he's great, psychology 2 will definatly be with him!

Awesome professor! Eplains things in an interesting and clear manner. Class is amusing... he is a very funny man. He is a little harder on his DEP class. You should do fine if you read over the book and study your review.

Good teacher who covers quite a bit over the semester. The class before a test he covers everything that is going to be on it. Only curves four points each test so you must do well. Recommend him for this class.

Nice guy, okay teacher. The only thing that I didn't like was that he got off topic way too much and talked about random stories that were funny, but had nothing to do with what we were studying. And most of the things we learned about are just hypotheses from life observers, not fact, most have no scientific backing whatsoever. But I liked it :)

Great professor! I had him for both human growth and development & psychology and I enjoyed both classes very much. Sometimes gets off topic (you get to hear several "shrimp boat stories") :) Tests are all multiple choice and are fairly easy if you read the text and study the reviews he gives.

Good and fair teacher. Nice and cares about students. Gives you a review the class before the test and gives you an optional 16 point paper to bump up your grade.

I think he is a great Professor. This is the 4th time taking PSY, the other times I dropped it. He keeps you interested and also does great test reviews. If you fail a test, it is YOUR own fault. Other then taking the test for you, he pretty much gives it to you. Tells you exactly what you need to know. I highly recommend him for this class.

Prof. Hagan is awesome! The only way you can fail is class is to miss the review days. He basically gives you the answers to the tests and he's more than willing to work with you during office hours. I highly recommend him!

Professor Hagen's class was much fun. He made us feel "involved". You dont always have to go to class but the "review" days are a MUST... he reads you the answers right out of the book, you just have to pay attention. Tests are simple if you read through the high-lighted book. Talks about his life alot....but they are always interesting stories!

Professor Hagan is truly the best Edison College has to offer! He has an adorable personality and a great deal of knowledge and passion about psych. I took him for both developmental psych and psych 101, and if you study his reviews, you will get an A+ on the exams! And He gives ample options as far as extra credit, although you won't need it! =]

Keeps the class interesting with his stories that relate to the subject being covered in class. Veyr clear on test objectives. After a chapter there is a review, and before an exam there is another review. Test based off exactly what he points out in review. Great knowledgable personality and interesting class. Great professor! Good stories that are useless, but make the class interesting. He gave four 50 questions MC tests and that was your grade for the class. He does two reviews for each test. Study that and you will get an A! I did!!

Like I said, DON'T MISS CLASS. If you can, read the chapters ahead of time. Don't take notes during lecture, just listen and understand. After he finishes lecturing each chapter, he does a "review". That review is where you start underlining things in the book, because that's exactly what's on the test for that chapter. DON'T MISS CLASS!!!

The best professor by far. Very easy exams, and is will to help if you have a question. The problem with most students they don"t want to read. Hey your in college why don't you read some for your degree. If you can't pass this class you need to ask why you are in college !

professor hagan makes intro to psych very interesting & fun. he's a good ol' southern boy with lots of stories to tell about his experiences. his study guides match up with the tests perfectly- no surprises here!

Knows his stuff well. Very monotoned, so he can get boring at times. he can be funny once and a while, but i was satisfied with the class. his test are always 50 questions and 50% was definitions. good teacher! tip- never leave in the middle of his class, he doesnt like that!

Great class. No interest in Psychology previously, no pursing as Major. Class consists of interesting lectures, reading text book chapters, and before each test a review of what will be on the test. Read the chapter before each lecture, listen to the lectures, take notes on review day, study the review and you will do well. No homework!

Very easy for a psych class. He gives a review for each test and that is EXACTLY what is on the test. I literally only went on review and test days and i got a B. If you read the chapters, which are interesting, then you will ace the tests. He does not take attendance! He has a really good sense of humor as well! HIGHLY RECOMMEND (:

I struggled a bit with the class because I am not used to a lecture and stil came out with a B. I recommend this teacher, he truly know what he is talking about. He goes by the review. Old, funny guy. One assignment. Reviews what in the chapter is exactly on the test. Write it down and study it out of the book and you'll breeze by the tests.

Guy has a very monotone voice that can sound boring. I think he knows this so he subtly drops funny jokes and if you are not paying attention you miss them. overall a good teacher who knows his material.

Take him!!! He gives a clear study guide all you need to do is not be lazy and study the terms he gives you :) I hate reading but i found that reading the passages for each term does help you do better on exams. Material is pretty interesting also33

That being said, I did remember a lot of what he said during the lectures so the book really is essential to passing. He basically takes most of the questions straight out of the book.

He was one of the funniest professors I've ever had and definitely one of the most laid back professors. His class is easy if you take notes and read the chapters from the textbook that he assigns.

Samuel is a warm, montone southern man with plenty of stories to tell. Class is not necessary for passing, but it is helpful for the simplification of complex ideas. Clear grading, tests are multiple choice and almost entirely memorization of terms, with a few application questions. You'll learn a bit about shrimp fishing and some fun stories!

Dr Hagan is the bomb. He is one of the best professors FSW has to offer. He always ties one of his life stories to the course material which makes the class interesting. There are 3 tests and a final and an assessment quiz which we review for. Also they'res one paper. This class is lit. You always come out of his classes laughing every time.

I loved this class! I am a slacker and I passed this class with an A. all you have to do is go to class. You need the textbook which is pricey but he reviews every single exam and most of the exams are vocab. Its all about memorization. He is old fashioned but i promise you will learn and pass easily if you highlight everything he reviews!

This class is very easy if you are loyal to showing up to class. Also take advantage of his office hours.

Dr. Hagan is one of the most dedicated and knowledgeable professors at FSW. Exams covered 3-4 chapters in the book, but after class before the exams, he would stay for a one-hour review session for anyone who was interested! Very funny professor; he would give analogies and acronyms to help students remember the material. Sit in the front of class.

Read the book , he goes over test the class before , show up . I studied the morning of and still passed every test with an A . Do not recommend doing that but shows how easy it is to pass if you study and recognize the vocab and being able to apply it to critical thinking . I took Hagan for Spring 2018. He is an amazing professor and lecturer. He relates the lectures with real life experience. The class was essentially chapter by chapter of the book. We had 4 tests and a research paper of two typed pages. No assignments or anything else. The tests were easy, if you read the book you pass with A.

A normal class is lecturing as he goes through the book. TO STUDY: Use Quizlet to memorize the vocab because the tests are 90% vocabulary and the other 10% are questions which he gives the answers to IN HIS LECTURES, so go to class. He always reviews. You need the textbook, no exceptions. He is really funny and nice also.
