Prof. Heastie is great. He's class is very interesting. The way he teaches make you want to learn. He's exams are online an easy as long as you read the book. He's door is always open if you want to talk to him or have a meeting.

Have taken him twice, amazing! No midterm, no final. Read 1 chapter a week and a test online pertaining the chapters. 1 two-page easy paper. Very caring person, funny, and gives insightful and inspirational messages. Always has his doors open for his students to talk about ANYTHING. Very understanding and respectful. Would definitely recommend!

Dr. Heastie is one of the bests professors in MDC. An incredible person. Go to his amazing lectures, ready the text book, and you will have an A. All the exams are online, but you will not find on the internet, so, ready the textbook.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! He's hilarious, and he gives THE BEST lectures. We do take tests every week, however they're really easy. I only had him on Tuesday nights, but I wish it was at least twice the week. His class is not a class you want to miss. There's always something interesting to be heard.

Professor Heastie is absolutely amazing. His lectures are spot on and he is genuinely caring for his students. He is very accessable outside of class. I personally met with him twice to finally decide on a major. Hos tests are all on blackboard and due before the next class. For my class he also did video assignments that were very enlightening.

You will have to do 15 hours of Service Learning, be aware that the syllabus is misleading as it says it is worth 15% of your grade, but you will fail the class if you don't complete it, even if you complete the other 85% of your grade. Phones and electronics are a NO. use them get kicked out but class is so interesting that you don't really think about using them. he's very keen on friendship.

I took the 8 weeks cram. He keeps you the whole class but he makes it interesting and fun. I looked forward to going to the class. Exams are open book Blackboard 3 and a half hours. We had a great party last day of class. Only thing I didn't like was the political bias but I blocked it out and mainly he talked about the subject of counseling .

In online classes you're required to have your camera on and participate but that makes the class fun and you get more. It was like free therapy and I learned a lot.

Although, he is very intense in the beginning, it just shows that he's very proud of the work he's accomplished. Professor Dr. Heastie is a dedicated professional, passionate about his role, making him an excellent educator. However, the class is not easy, weekly tests and discussion posts, a research paper as the final assignment. It's challenging, so a genuine interest in mental health and human services is crucial. Overall, he's an awesome professor.

Dr. Heastie is a wonderful professor; he is very thorough with his syllabus, and all coursework is outlined from the very first class. He is very insightful and pushes you to think outside the box and to look at situations from different perspectives. I would highly recommend taking him again!

Overall, great professor with “strict” grading. He will not respond via Canvas Inbox, only email. Easy A as long as you follow instructions for the module discussions. I took this class online and it was mostly discussion posts that weighed about 30%. Make sure you do well on the discussion posts and you shouldn't have a problem!

Dr. Heastie is the most phenomenal professor I have ever had in my 25 years of life. There is truly no other teacher that has been so proficient, honest, and inspiring. If you are looking to be mentored and whipped you into shape, look no further. It was an absolute pleasure having Dr. Heastie as my professor and I am forever grateful for him.
