He is a great teacher and the course is really easy. Don't miss too many classes though. I slept through the whole course, missed over seven classes and still passed with a B. I slept due to the time of class, not b/c he was boring! Great man!!!!!

Professor Hodge is great! He makes learning fun and goes out of his way to make awesome powerpoint presentations. Whatever is on those presentations is the exact test. Best and most interesting professor I ever had @ Temple!

An 8:40 T/Th is tough, but I still got an A- for Hodge. He is a funny guy, the Powerpoint presentations are an excellent addition to the lecture. I stopped reading the book after a month because it is almost the exact same thing (well, he WROTE the text).

He is very structured in his teaching, and goes solely off power points. He is very charismatic, and is a very fair teacher. His tests can be tricky if you don't attend class, but if you do attend you will learn alot of useful info.

He is very informative. Brilliant man. When he teaches you remember the things he says. Unfortunately the TAs taught the last 2 weeks of class because he went to Tokyo this semester and they were not as good. I recommmend this class to everyone, interested in law or not.

Very entertaining class. Has a lot of funny slides to keep your attention when explaining real life court cases. Pretty Easy. I would def take him again if I could.

He's a good guy. Had very interesting powerpoint presentations to make the class go by faster, but the TA's sucked at teaching. I'd recommend him if you're not so interested in law, he has some weird and interesting court cases in his book that HE wrote.

He tricked our class into buying a new copy of his book, he made it look like he was getting us a deal on registering our clickers, but in reality you spend like $20 MORE buying a new copy of his stupid book that he recieves royalties for!

prof hodge was one of the most interesting courses i ever took in college. his class was an easy one for me in a very hard semester. the one negative is he is a stickler for attendece. this is college not h.s. if u can pass without going to every class so be it.

I found this class to be very interesting and enjoyable. He presents the material in a fun way, even when you're hungover at 840am. His tests are a little bit tricky, but he explains the material very well. Highly recommend this class!

I want to study more about law because of Hodge. He got 500+ students interested at once. never a dull moment in class. Uses videos pictures and sounds to attract attention. most interesting class I took so far in Temple. I hope I can have more classes with Hodge. Expect to go to class to learn useful things, and to laugh.

I like his teaching style and he speaking skill is intersting and clear...However, I dont like the TAs in this class..They are sometimes rude, unfair and cocky...If you stop by the office and talk to the TA, you seriously want to punch on their faces...However, not all of them are like that. In addtion, this class is too huge..

Good guy, teaches the class the best way it could be taught (since the class is so large), the class is very uninformative when the TA's teach though, which was like 4 times all semester.Exams are hard, study EVERYTHING ever mentioned in order to do well

honestly i think he is overrated. it is not as boring as a 500+ lecture could be but i do wonder about all the awards he is getting...you must study a lot for an A beacuse most of your grade relys on the midterm and final grades.go to the TAs-mike and josh only- because they actually know what they are talking about and are most helpful..

He is a good professor and the class is somewhat interesting, but the TA's will kill your grade. Josh and Mike are the only ones who know what they are talking about and the rest dont and will grade your hw low. Hodge is very overatted and on the class capture, i heard him say that he hopes everyone fails the midterm.

He's a nice guy but the class is just too big. His attempts to make the class interesting almost work but you still end up falling asleep. He writes the book and he structures the whole class and it feels like you do alot of jumping around with different material. When you get finnished you feel like you havnt really learned anything.

I completely disagree...Hodges class was one of my favorites. He kept my attention all semester with his before-class SNL videos and his countless funny videos that he incorporates into his lectures. Overall great teacher! Do all the assignments and study for his 2 tests and you'll get a A.

Well, what is there to say about him? He wrote the text for the class. He has 4-5 TAs. He's s little full of himself. However, the class capture is very convienient. He honestly tries to keep the class interested in what he's teaching, though how interesting can a 8 in the morning powerpoint presentation be?

Actually a very interesting teacher. Had a pretty engaging and entertaining lecture. However attending class is an important part of your grade. TAs do all the work outside of class though.

This class was huge but it was really interesting. He breaks things down so that everybody will understand. In the morning family guy is on until class starts. The TA's aren't so fair with the grading but hodge is THE MAN!

This class was a billion people. The class was pretty boring, but had funny movie clips all the time with interesting cases, but the 2 tests are hard and the TA's grade very hard on homework problems. if you can find a way to not show up. dont the classes are videotaped and put online.

I loved this class and easily got an A, but I must say that the final was very hard. Overall, the lectures are as interactive as they could be at 8 am and Mr. Hodge is just great. All of the hw's are graded by the TA's, so it's pretty subjective on their side, but Muhammad helped me the most.

hodge rocked. very lively and had a great personality. his examples were perfect. the only thing that was hard were homeworks and tests....because there are like 6 TA's and they all graded differently which was quite unfair. me and my friend copied our homeworks and our grades were never the same. sucked. but he is fun and his slideshows rock

Hodge is an excellent lecturer. His classes are especially entertaining. The downside of his class is that it is large and you have to deal with mediocre TAs. The homework assignments in his class are short but hard, the projects are extremely difficult, and the exams are medium.

Hodge is the best professor ever. He would make me get up at 8 am and come to class, not because of the mandatory attendance but because I found his lectures something to enjoy. His TA's are such amateurs and they taught the class 5-6 times. Their grading is horrible and exams are tricky. I got an A, so it's not impossible. Keep it up Hodge!

Professor Hodge is an excellent lecturer, you can tell by his presentation that he's honed it down to a science. The teaching assistans can be a pain, but they really don't expect all that much from students when it comes to homework.

He is an excellent teacher. He teaches the class at a good rate. He is always very helpful. The classes are always online if you miss a couple. Only material covered in the case will be on the test. Some of the TAs are helpful, but some others are not....

Very very good teacher; presentation style is the best I've seen so far. Also, prior to every class till like 5 minutes in, he shows an episode or two of either Family Guy or Seinfield. On the other hand, his tests are tricky, so you have to read WORD FOR WORD. Oh, and the TAs don't know what the hell they're doing for the most part.

Hodge's Law In Society is a very interesting class. Its a very large lecture hall yet it is easy to pay attention. We learn about really interesting cases (very unorthodox yet funny.) He even plays family guy in the beginning of class. The class is usually offered early so he trys to entertain everyone. When the TA's teach class blows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hodge is good professor class is fun but TA's are rude and unapproachable. They constantly sent rude emails and where rude when teaching the class. Class was ok, would have been great except for TA's. TA's did not treat this all freshman class like freshman, I thought they expected a little too much and were not patient with the class.

Hodge is a great teacher- he kept his class interesting even though it was early. I would definitely take him over again and recommend him to everyone, plus it is REALLY easy to get an A in the class. The TA's seemed hard for some kids but I guess they didn't understand that this isn't high school and sometimes you have to do somethings yourself.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! Uses crazy powerpoint shows that keep the class interesting. His intro class made me considering switching to pre-law. The TAs grade everything. There's a huge research paper. Show up and study for the tests and you can't fail. TAKE HIS CLASS!

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Made an 8:40 class worth going to. His slideshow made the class entertaining and fun. It's pretty obvious he cares about what he does and gives plenty of opportunity for extra credit through attendance and participation. My only complaint? Having to listen to his voice for an hour and twenty minutes.

Easy A, worthless class. It is so easy it is insulting. He has a very lively display using powerpoint and lots of videos. THe pace at which he teaches is so mindnumbingly slow. The hardest part of the semester was staying awake. Term paper was difficult, but if you review your paper w/ TA you are almost given an A.

Hodge is great, his powerpoints are ammusing. The class was greuling but not too much work. Make sure you read so you get the quiz points. Stay in class the whole time so you dont miss the quiz. Only one paper and a couple tests which were very tricky. AVOID taking in the morning, it puts u to sleep which is a shame b/c its not a bad class!

This was the best class I took! Everything you need to know for the tests are on the slide show. The slide shows are also very interesting because he has videos on them. The only reason you really need the book is to do the homework or to understand more of what is covered in class. The only downside is the TAs he uses. BLAH!! TAKE THIS CLASS!!!

This guy is a great professor, lectures go moderately fast and packs class with tons of funny and interesting clips from the internet and cool shows like family guy. plays episodes before class for entertainment if your early. tests are kind of a pain and questions are worded ambiguously 1 research papaer and 1 group proj also being worded badly.

I liked the TAs! They were very helpful, and without any of them the class would've been a lot harder. The research paper is tough, and the group project is annoying. Other than that, I cannot complain. Oh also, most of the quiz/clicker questions are towards the beginning of the semester. I barely showed up at the end and received a 7/10.

This class was my favorite. I had no interest in law but he was a great professor who made law interesting with his powerpoints and funny clips. The work and tests were challenging but as long as you listened to the lectures it wasnt too hard. Great professor!

Really great teacher. You learn a whole bunch and it's easy and fun. I didn't like the grading too much though. The TAs say they don't grade differently, but they do. My friends got higher grades on assignments even though they didn't get all the main points. Sorry if you were born with the wrong last name. Know the material and you'll do well.

He's a good dude. I took him real early in the morning and he's good at getting your attention. He explains things easily and his powerpoints are helpful, filled with real lame jokes that are funny sometime. Make sure you go to class so you can take the remote control quiz things. His TA's were jerks and inconsistent graders, but hes a good guy

Hodge is an awesome teacher, the TAs are ok after a while, the class is really easy for a law class, but the only time you use the text book is for 3 homeworks, I would suggest sharing it with a few friends, its a waste of $100 bucks

Good guy. Uses powerpoint all the time so not a huge need for the textbook other than to do the few hw questions. Always does review class sessions and post lectures on blackboard. Very easy class...but beware of his annoying TA's.

Sammy Hodge is the man! I couldn't imagine having any other class at 8am. Just watch out on his tests, there can be a couple tricky questions. He does a great job of explaining all the content though, it's an interesting class!

Way too early in the morning, but the great thing is that all classes are on TU Class Capture, so you can just watch them online. Notes are clear & his video clips are funny. The tests are a little hard so you need to study. Quizzes are easy. Matthew Morley was the worst part of this class. He was a HORRIBLE TA, I feel bad if you end up with him!

He does a very good job of explaining the context and giving examples. The worst part of the class was the research paper and the group project. Overall, pretty easy if you understand everything. The exam isn't really hard at all. midterm, final, research paper, quizzes, group project, and 3 homework assignments.

All grading is done by teacher assistants!!!! Be sure to get to know your assigned TA. make sure you read all readings! Tests are very exact to the law, very hard for just a GenEd class. But if you have a good study habit you will do fine!

There's clicker questions every day for attendance (you get 10 best). Group project is tedious and annoying, 1 Essay, there's 4 hws (3 best), 1 midterm & final (cumulative). Material may seem simple, but his tests are very tricky. Watch out for certain words, he may be trying to throw you off

There isn't much work for the class. 4 homeworks, clicker quizzes, paper, project, midterm & final. Midterm & final are VERY difficult. Most difficult GenEd I've taken at Temple. However, there is a huge curve- My final grade should have been a D+ but I ended up with a B!!

Very little grades in the class. There is a huge curve at the end. Tests and Midterms are impossible to prepare for. Grading TA's do all the work, so you should get to know your TA. Ended up getting a B when I should have gotten a D based on the curve. Overall Hodge is very useless. His lectures dont prepare you for the tests and midterms.:-/

Fairly easy class. You will never get to know him one on one if your in the huge lecture you get to know your TA. Having it at 8 am makes it hard to get up for and attendance is not really necessary with the class capture. Good guy and the class can teach you some things and entertain you.

Great Teacher, probably a great lawyer too. Two things (bad): TAs are the worst, and DON'T buy the book! Rip-off and you only use it for homeworks (3 of them), wayyy too expensive. Besides, great class to take.

One professor that makes class interesting and a learning experience. It's a lecture type class but has great teaching abilities. Tests are tough and some TA's grade hard but this professor makes it worth it. I might get a bad grade but still think the class was a great class.

Great teacher, pretty interesting class. If you get Aimee, you're done for. She thinks like she's already some high-end lawyer, and will give you the most snobby responses. Tests are tricky, but you will learn a lot.

Attendance is not mandatory but there are clicker quizzes in class that do impact your grade. He is very informative and entertaining. Great class

Hodge is very informative, TA office hours are flexible, class is entertaining. Only downside can be that his classes begin at 8 AM. You only need ten correct answers with your clicker per semester, so attendance is only suggested. Tests are directly from powerpoints. Be wary of the cases he presents in class, most are on the exams.

This was a great class with a great professor. He kept everyone interested with his youtube clips and funny stories. You get 10 extra credit points if you use your clicker in class and the exams are fairly easy if you can memorize. I really enjoyed this class.

The best professor in law ever. I took his two classes, Law & American Society and Business Law. Large class with four TAs, included several easy written assignments, three tests and a group project. Even had a mock trial versus another group! High recommended!

Too much work for a Gen ED course but its managable. 2 research papers, 4 H.w, 1 midterm and 1 finals. I think the final is curved but everything else is not. You have to attend the class for the clicker questions. IF you dont you will lose points. Overall, a great experience and an A which was worth taking.

There is a mild amount of work for this class and the exams are somewhat easy. As long as you show up to class and pay attention, you will do well. Hodge is a very good professor.

Probably the best professor you can take for business law. He wrote the book that we use in class so he definitely knows his stuff. I went to maybe half the classes and still got a B for the course.

If you are visual learner, take his class! His power points are so straightforward that it makes learning the material easy! His classes are never boring since the material being taught is really interesting.

Lord Hodge is a gift from heaven itself. The man the is timeless and everyday with the king is a new adventure. He has no idea which slide is coming next, if you dont do well you should write an apology letter to his legal director Krole, who he always talks about. The TAs suck thou.

Lectures are extremely boring and way too long. It was impossible to get 100% on anything, I would spend hours on a simple writing assignment and somehow would still miss half of a point for phrasing something wrong

So basically we did a flip classroom where you basically teach yourself and he posts videos on the material and then you're quizzed on them. The TA's weren't very helpful; sometimes Hodge doesn't even show up. The class is fine overall, I'd recommend, if you're patient. Not too many assignments (about 4-5), and there's a midterm and final.

This year Hodge did a flip classroom so basically there are 4-5 TAs who are in control of the class most of the time. Hodge teaches a few lectures and the rest is just guests speakers which is a waste of time. Mandatory attendance. TAs are VERY unorganized and confusing. Have to go to study session for to learn.

This was a pretty annoying class, the TA's did most of the work. Hodge showed up like 5 times throughout the semester. His online videos, however, are super helpful and would DEFINITELY TELL YOU to watch them start to finish. Otherwise, you don't learn anything else. it's mostly guest speakers which is so annoying. and they take attendance

Worst class i've had at Temple University. Have to learn EVERYTHING by yourself. Hodge doesn't go over any material in class and his TA's are awful and super unorganized. Tests are extremely hard. They take attendance in a 400 people class. AVOID THIS CLASS.

AVOID THIS CLASS!! The TAs are extremely rude and unhelpful and attendance is mandatory. All of the time in class is used on guest speakers and you are required to watch videos online made by hodge to learn anything. Nobody is helpful in this class. The TAs are out to fail you; they are all miserable. AVOID

Good luck talking to him as you'll just end up talking to a TA who doesn't know what they're doing. TA's do the grading so your grade may not reflect the work you actually put in. Midterm and a Final, 5 writing assignments, Clicker quizzes, Book Report, and a Group Project with an oral argument part. It's an interesting course and Dr. Hodge is cool

Dr Hodge really is a top notch professor. If it's on the test, it's said during class. Just make sure you put in the study time for the exams because of the volume of info. The HW is straightforward and generally easy. Participate as much as you can and don't skip more than 4 classes or your grade will drop. You can't take a better Gen Ed to learn.

Overall, he was a very nice professor and his class wasn't overly hard. He had a lot of teacher's assistants helping him. The class was long at times but he did a good job of adding funny videos and gifs to his presentations to make them more enjoyable.

Had Professor Hodge for Legal Studies, which is an introductory class and required for Fox Business School. He was the worst professor I have had, he wrote the book so his lectures are very detailed and long. Worst part is that his class is on a point scale out of 150 points, very difficult exams with tricky questions. AVOID THIS GUY

Class is pretty much run by TA's so your experience really depends on how good they are. Only 2 exams which count for almost all of your grade. I had a huge 8 am lecture and attendance was still mandatory so don't expect to skip class. The lectures are literally straight from the book so as long as you take decent notes in class you won't need it.

The way Hodge does his lectures presents the information in an interesting and clear cut way. Regardless, his class is way too tough. The assignments are long and are unrelated to material. Any small fact can be on the test and Hodge tries to trick you on every question, which gave me a grade that did not reflect how much I learned in this class.

Hodge is one of the best professors I have had so far. The way he explains things is fantastic. His assignments are a little legnthy. But, for 2 of the 4 we had partners. His tests make you think carefully so make sure to take your time. If you show up to class you will get at least a B. I didnt even buy the textbook either.

Hodge is a great, funny guy. The class itself is ok. Written assignments seem to be busy work, barely related if at all to the material. My biggest complaint, the TAs. In a class of 400+ there are 4 or 5 TAs and they come off as extremely arrogant, rude, and condescending. Not to mention they are horrible at relaying information about assignments

Hodge is a great, funny professor and has put in a huge amount of effort into making the class more enjoyable and easy to understand after teaching the class for years. The only issue is that your whole grade is essentially based off one midterm & final with extremely specific questions, and the TAs this semester were extremely disorganized.

Nice man, puts in a lot of effort into his lectures which makes it a little better (for an 8 am). 4 assignments throughout course - do not expect a lot of feedback, if you get any at all. The TA's were of no help. Have 2 polls each class for participation - so attendance is mandatory. Overall, would take again.

I have to admit that even though Law isn't the most exciting topic and the class was an 8 am, Hodge did his best to keep the class fun and interesting. His slides are unique and he makes music, so he does his best to keep you engaged. The TAs were terrible though, as they didn't give feedback on assignments until the final week of the class.

slides are not posted on blackboard. They told us there was a class caption but wasn't posted till weeks before the final. Grades are solely based off of 2 test & 4 assignments but there's a curve in your grade based on points earned. There's also chances for extra credit also bumps your grade if you regularly participate in class.

easy class. 1 midterm, 1 final, 4 assignments, and a disc. board every week. show up, take notes, study those notes in detail, and you will do fine. i got an 82 on midterm (curved to 93) and an 87 on the final. theres also extra credit throughout the sem which help. grade is curved, an 87% is considered an A. Easy class, just study.

Hodge is your best bet for Legal Studies. Its a 150 point system and the midterm is worth 40, the final is worth 60, 4 assignments are worth 10 a piece, and 10 points are for a discussion board you post a response to once a week. They also offer extra credit and I definitely recommend sucking it up and signing up for it, overall easy A.

Hodge's class is run mostly by the TA's (in my semester there were 5) and they are super organized law students so they're pretty helpful and timely. If you do the readings and go to class you'll be fine. Super strict on attendance and the group projects are kinda heavy but you will learn a lot and he is a fair teacher overall.

Professor Hodge is one of the best professors at Temple. He not only lectures very well, but he provides so many cool extra credit opportunities. His grading is based on a point system, so if you get 131 points you get an A (131/15087.3). Attendance is MANDATORY.

While Professor Hodge may have had a CHANCE in being a decent professor, his TA's completely ruined that for him and the class. His lectures are ok but he really isn't present and puts all on the TA's which makes the class a lot harder than need be considering they are vague and not very helpful in times of need Had WAY too high hopes for the class

Professor Hodge is truly one of the greatest professors at Temple University. His in-class slides and homemade videos and characters make the lectures so much more interesting and fun. The exams aren't too bad if you study literally everything he says in class, so take good notes and listen! You won't be disappointed if you have Hodge!

Depending on who you have, you might have failed before it even began. For example, some of my friends received feedback a month before I did so the rest of my assignments, I had nothing to base it off of

Awesome professor. Even though he only teaches class at 8 am, it's definitely worth it. His lectures are very entertaining and interesting, and he covers the material in a way that is easy to understand. Unfortunately, his TAs are terrible, which sucks because they grade your written assignments. Mine wasn't bad but my roommates had terrible TAs.

He puts in a lot of work to make the lectures enjoyable. All the stuff he wants you to know is in his slides so take good notes and you wont need the textbook. His class is only offered as 8am but its worth it. The only bad thing is he only teaches and the TAs do all the grading so if you have a bad TA it might be harder. Also lots of extra credit

Sam Hodge is a nice person, but not a good professor. He does not grade any assignments, the TA's for his class do, at their own discretion. In the beginning of the semester they were very unorganized. Assignments are due at 8am before class starts. When trying to email or message TA's about assignments some do not respond. Mine didn't.

Professor Hodge is very respected inside and outside of Temple U. He's a strong, passionate teacher that really gets the students involved. There's a lot of reading (in his law intro course), lots of extra credit, few assignment so STUDY. My advice: take him, always participate, study hard, and you'll easily get an A.

Boring, pointless lectures. Attendance is mandatory for a class with 100s of people in it. The only thing Hodge does is lecture and leave. Because everything is handled by the TAs who are nightmares about grading and dealing with. Class is terrible overall.
