Great teacher! A lot of fun! He expects you to know when and how to study; He teaches like a college professor. His tests are hard, but no where near as bad as some at USF. Oveall, wonderful, and I'd like him for A&P II if possible.

I dont know how he teaches his other biology classes but I loved being in his Nutrition and Drugs lab. He was clear, very helpful, and had a lot of patience for those who like me don't like science. I think he's a great teacher..his tests are simple but u do have to read.

This professor expects us to be college students, if you think that A&P is an easy class, or should be easy with the right professor, then you are not prepared for life. This class is not supposed to be easy but challenging, you cannot sit in this class aloof and make an A.He is a teacher who will bend over backwards tohelp his students.recommended

I was very suprised to see that he got bad ratings..i am taking him now and he is the nicest guy in the world! All you have to do is study..He is VERY clear and i think he is a great professor.He does everything he can to make sure you succeed in his class.

I swear, people think HCC is a glorified high school because 90% of the students at HCC are lazy and whine about stupid things! Put down your cell phones, study, and do what you're supposed to do for once! Jacobson is the most helpful teacher I've had at HCC; he is such a nice guy, and you can tell he really loves biology. awesome teacher! all of his tests come straight from the slides he shows in class. He will even email them to you. Its not a hard class, just new concepts. tests are pretty easy and come straight from the notes. I am retaking this class bc i failed with dr. beaman last semester. Love Jacobsons style of teaching, and he is accomodating and helpful

Mr Jacobson is such a wonderful teacher and a sweetheart! I hate science courses and he made this class so enjoyable. His tests are from his slides, rare book usage. Study your slides and you will do great. He is very kind and accomadating if you need help, he is totally laid back and only occasionallyspeaks fast. I highly recommend taking him =)

Great teacher and a total hottie, he is a nice guy who does care about his students. I jsut finished the semester with him and would highly recommend him to anyone. I don't know about those bad reviews he was given, personally i think they must have been total slackers b/c this is not a hard class and you jsut need to study the slides to do well.

He loves his rate my professor. VERY nice guy so far, accommodating, and makes me more interested by explaining things in detail. Test was a little bit tough, but he is quick to return grades and give feedback and obviously enjoys teaching and cares about his students =) Still speaks kinda fast though

This teacher is absolutely awesome. He can actually teach some of those horrible teachers a few things about teaching. He is extremely helpful and concerned with his student's understanding of the material. I would would say he's one of the best teachers. I say he's hot because he has a beautiful mind, which in my opinion, makes him very attractive

He's very affable, meticulous, and intelligent. He knows his subject matter like the back of his hand. He'll throw in little facts to help explain ideas. Also, he WANTS his students to ask him questions. He keeps it interesting, but the questions asked by students makes it entertaining. He speaks very fast, but it only takes a class or so to adjust

Professor Jacobson is such a brilliant and sweet guy! He cares about all his students and he wants you to really learn stuff in his calss. His a&p calss was not a very easy class, you have to study for it. But it was fun! And he's always there to help you out. He is probably the best teacher I ever had. I'll definitely miss him. Highly recommed!

awfully hard! i agree with the other three. i study pretty hard powerpoints take extra notes and reads the book and the available stuff online. NO HELP! he's applications mess you up big time!!!!!!! i feel so upset for those like me who tries and study so hard and recieve a B/C+ with the curve

I really like Mr. J. He does the best job to allow us to see his points in different ways. for everyone to say he rambles yes he does but for a good reason to help everyone learn. Don't hate on this man I believe he should teach 1086 too I'dtake him again if I could, JUST REALLY USE YOUR COMMON SENSE in this class "study" this is a weed out class

Extremely helpful teacher. Always in his office during his hours when you need him, and always willing to answer your questions when you need his help. Tests can be a little tricky on application questions, but study and there's no trick to them. very good teacher. Makes the class lively!

Professor Jacobson is one of the best teachers I've had at HCC. His test can be intense, but he expects you to study because you will need this material in the healthcare profession.If you study and have questions, he always tells you to come by his office and discuss it with him.

AWESOME teacher!! loved him! the class was so much fun and really keeps your attention, never a dull moment! notes are from power point slides that you can print out, and the tests are strictly from the slides, very easy and to the point! just read them and your good to go! if you get the chance to take his class...do it!!! he's great!

Mr. Jacobson is an awesome professor. Though some of his teaching techniques could use some improvement, he is very helpful and teaches content that will help prepare students for the exams. If you have a problem, you can always talk to him after class.

Mr. Jacobson is a great teacher. The tests are really easy if you answer and study all the questions in the study guide that he has available online. Make sure you study because the 2 exams mimic the study guides. Overall, I got an A in the class. If you get the opportunity, take his class!

Kept it interesting

Prof. Jacobson LOVES teaching! This class was SOOO not what I expected, but he was able to make everyone comfortable with the subject matter which led to great discussions. Tests can be a little tricky, because you HAVE to THINK. He also throws in some very humerous choices. I think this class should be mandatory for ALL first year students!

Mr Jacobson is one of my favorite teachers at HCC, he is extremely nice and approcachable he makes the class very easy and fun and jokes around alot, this class was very interesting and open to discussion since its all about sex, if your not mature do not take this class, i got a B in the class and he does take attendance I LOVE JACOBSON!!!

cool teacher very laid back and lets you make up test if you miss one.. his test are a lil long about 60-70 questions but the test are usually pretty easy and you can print out the review right off campus cruise

I loved this class. Professor Jacobson is the best professor I've had so far. He loves teaching and is really patient and kind. Highly recommend this class and this professor.

He is a great teacher. You have to memorize a lot of things but then again, all anatomy and physiology classes are like that. He gives a lot of extra credit, and many ways to raise your grade. He explains in a way you remember even though it is a lot of material.

He loves science and has a vast amount of knowledge and interesting stories to share. Sometimes he gets off track telling his stories. He is very friendly and approachable. He tries to explain things but gets a little too wordy. If you don't have a basic understanding before you come to this class, you wont get it. You really MUST study his slides!

Anatomy is a tough class. Professor Jacobson rocks. He cares for his students. And is always available to help out. He wants you too succeed. Print out the powerpoints and study and you should be fine.

Mr. Jacobson is a great teacher/person and extremely helpful. His office is always open for students with any type of question. He does speaks fast, but he is always willing to repeat himself. The only thing he does talk a lot about his wife. Overall he is fair and very polite. Just study hard b/c his tests question make you use your brain.

U dont have to take notes in this class b/c he gives accesses to his slides. I will def try to take A and P 2 with him because i like his style and i was always on the edge of my seat in his lectures.. He only tests from his slides but reading the chapter before class was very helpful for me. He gave us lots of xtra cr opportunities as well.

great teacher

He is a great professor! He knows what he is talking about and is very passionate about it! About the chemistry, I don't know why some students are complaining about it coz it's only 1 chapter. And it is related to the subject, it is in the book and A&P2 starts with chemistry. It is a hard material to begin with which means you need to study!

He's a great teacher, he always encourages you to ask questions and make office visits. He make information easy to understand. I'm glad I took him.

At first I was intimidated by the subject, but thanks to Prof. Jacobson's patience I was able to adapt. Beginning was very tough, my test scores were not the highest, not giving up I took advantage of his office hours to study and self test myself. My test grades improved, I finished the class with an A. Makes anatomy a very enjoyable subject.

Professor Jacobson knows his stuff! Almost talks too fast but its incredible how he never misses a beat! Lots of material but grading is incredibly generous (w/ extra credit) and he will bend over backwards to help students out individually. Just don't be a total slacker and you'll do just fine, otherwise this class will eat you alive.

Have had this prof for several Biology Classes and he does a wonderful job. He is always prepared for class, very knowledgeable, and even approachable. You do not need to purchase the book for his class because he makes the slides that he uses in lecture available for download which he uses to make the tests from.

One of THE best prof at HCC! Genuinely cares about his students doing well. Material is difficult, but if you study, you will do fine. He does everything in his power to help students succeed! But you WILL have to study!!

Wonderful professor. His lectures are clear and even fun. Mr. Jacobson seems like a genuinely down to earth person who really cares about biology and his students' understanding of the material. He truly sets the bar for what teachers should strive to be. I can only hope I'm able to take one of his classes again before I transfer out.

Great professor and very down to earth but I could not understand anatomy 1 for the sake of my life. Im in anatomy 2 with Scialli and I have an A in the class so I guess it depends on the professor and how you grasp information. Good luck !

Great teacher. Loved his lectures. Can go off topic a little bit, but tells interesting stories. Puts all notes online for you to print out and gives practice tests online. You will have to study for the class, if you need help he is more than willing to help whether it is before class or after, all you have to do is ask.

So far he's very helpful and thorough. He is a biologist and goes off on excursions getting into biology. His tests are all from his powerpoint and does not check attendance though it's mandatory for lab. He gives extra credit and is very serious about his work. This is one of the most smartest science teachers I've ever had. He can talk about everything under the sun for hours. But not in a boring way. Very thorough and to the point. His reviews help a lot on the exams. And his grading is fair. Take him! I did and it's interesting and got an A

MAN if you do not like this teacher than something is wrong with you he is AMAZING AMAZINGGGGGGGGG HE KNOWS HIS STUFF VERY WELL AND IS VERY HELPFUL

Do not buy the TEXTBOOK! He shortens all of the chapters to PDF files and all of the exams are based off of them. Make sure you know the terminology, like if it's a hormone. Know the hormones name, abbreviation for the hormone if there is one, what organ produces it, and what it does. If you can remember facts like that, this is an easy A.

He's such a great teacher. He's very nice, understanding, and professional. He cares that you understand the basics of what he is teaching. He's not out to destroy you like some of my other teachers.If you do the reviews you'll pass. If you do the reviews and go to class, you'll get an A. There is no HW. Gordon Rule is required, but its Xtra credit

Growing up I avoided science classes like it was the plague. It was thanks to this professor who turned my view on science a 180 degrees. I visited his office hours every week for reviews. He is very patient, and enjoys what he does.

Professor Jacobson is an intelligent, dedicated teacher whose delightfully uncanny obsession with biology is infectious. Although you MUST follow the rules or risk incurring his volcanic temper, he is otherwise easy-going, kind and generous. If you're taking Dale Mabry Bio, take Jacboson. He takes an info-dump class, Bio2, and makes it workable!

Mr Jacobson is a great teacher and pretty funny. Everything is clear and material is for the most part easy. For all the AA in Business degree majors if you are looking for a 2nd Science to take that wont rack your brain then this is the one. I highly recommend him.

Wow, I'm terrible at science this professor was the best! He is pretty funny and his lectures aren't boring. Class isn't mandatory but from personal experience I highly recommend you attend as many as you can! His tests aren't easy but he prepares you for them with a study guide. I would highly recommend this teacher! I had him for environmental science and he was such an all around nice person! You can tell he's very passionate about what he teaches and that makes the class a lot of fun. As long as you go to class, pay attention, and do reviews, the tests aren't hard at all. This professor is really helpful, however I had him for Bio 1 and you would have thought we were in graduate school. He tells so much information. He's really smart and his tests are extremely hard. I would REALLY recommend doing his reviews, the exact questions are on the test. Good guy, just really fast paced and nerdy.

Great professor, he's very laid back but likes to make sure you understand what's going on. He's very smart, you'd think we're in graduate school. Also everything is from the power point he won't teach you anything you don't need to know or that's not on the test. So if you don't go over the power points or pay attention than you won't pass.

Very passionate for subject and is hilarious. He explains everything so well and clearly. Answers back to emails quickly and is helpful. The tests are all based on power point, gives amazing reviews, and emphasizes stuff he will test on. Final is not cumulative. Go to class, take notes, look at reviews, and its impossible to fail. Professor Jacobson is honestly one of my best professors in college; he's respectable, kind and nice and makes his lectures interesting. I had him for BIO2 and this course is waaay harder than BIO1. He is one of the most amazing instructors I have had to date. He is amazing at explaining topics and is incredibly receptive when you ask questions. The tests include MANY extra credit questions. I've seen people miss half of the questions and get a C. Going to class really helps. He turned what I thought was boring into something fascinating.

Great teacher, exams are rather esoteric, but if you are a pre-meddentalpharm, etc student, you will quickly learn if you are pre-health material and if you can't get a B, you will save your save lots of time and $$ by choosing another field. Exams are multiple choice, but you need to know everything forwardsbackwards, not just bold face words

Professor Jacobson is the best professor I've had at HCC. He's incredibly smart and passionate about what he's teaching. This professor is amazing! If you have the opportunity to take his class, even if you are not a bio major, take it! The material itself is VERY heavy with science terms, but he makes it accessible to everyone and takes time to explain if you don't understand. Mr. Jacobson is very into the sciences and you can tell by the way he lectures. He's passionate about learning as well, and it is evident by how much he involves current events into his classes. His tests are incredibly long, and the material can be difficult to understand. If you enjoy studying with most of your free time, take him.

If I could take Professor Jacobson again, I would in a heartbeat! He is a wonderful teacher and genuinely cares about his students. I love science and he has a true passion for what he is teaching; which makes it easy to learn. You have to pay attention and go to every class because he goes through chapters quickly. But he won't overwhelm you.

Bio 2 is no joke, but Prof. Jacobson makes it very possible to get an A. He teaches well, but the biggest help is all the extra credit he provides on tests and even some opportunities outside of tests. Learn how to study the questions for the tests and you will do great in this class.

Professor Jacobson was one of my favorite professors. He is very passionate about what he's teaching and definitely knows what he's talking about. He gives plenty of extra credit on his tests, and it's obvious he cares about his students. The tests are a little difficult, but hi gives a 30-40 question review with questions from the test.

Prof. Jacobson is a good professor. He tries to make the subject matters relevant to current events. If you don't read the chapters & powerpoints, or study YOU WILL NOT PASS. Not for the lazy! He is preparing you for USF. Only grades on the chapter tests. Studying with quizlet helped. He's always available for office hours to help. ASK QUESTIONS!

One of the best professors! Really knows what he is talking about, I am not the best at science and I took him for 2 classes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Jacobson has extremely long tests, but he gives enough extra credit to compensate for a letter grade for each test. Has real dry humor. Lectures are good.

The professor was very professional and polite. If you read the chapters/ do the study guides the tests aren't impossible to pass. He gives a lot of extra credit on tests and is easy to talk to/ asks questions.

I fall in love with science through his eloquent approaches and lecturing imperatives. His behavior of needling governmental issues having to do with his area of acquaintance was sometimes amusing while other times sounded like a dum-dum to reality. He lectures infallibly and drills data for the long-term benefit as he believes students will have.,

Awesome professor. He truly cares about his students. He makes lectures worth listening to. He gives extra credit on every exam plus give a review of 30 questions. He does everything for his students to achieve an A. All he wants in return is for his students to study the material. I highly recommend taking him for Bio 1 & 2 w/ Labs

Professor Jacobson is a great teacher. Exams are 80-100 questions but the questions are taken from the powerpoint. He provides a study guide that is very helpful and gives extra credit. His lectures are entertaining and he's a passionate and caring professor. Would definitely recommend and wish all teachers were like him!

Absolutely amazing professor. I took him for bio 1 & 2 and highly recommend him to anyone going into a scientific field. he explains the material very well and loves answering questions. very witty and fun prof. make sure you read the textbook bc if not, you wont do well. gives EC on every test. Loved taking his class. 1000/10 recommend his class!

Hes a nice guy. He just holds high standards for his students. Teaches like your at a university. Graded by a midterm, final & 2 homework assignments (that are due at the beginning of the exam date) so its nice that you have all that time to finish the hw, make sure you answer all questions, & have it completed before then. Cool labs.

Took him for bio 1 lab. Make sure you read the lab manual before coming to class. Read experiments 1-6 before you take the midterm as those are the experiments he uses to test you for the midterm. The midterm was tough. The final is easier though.

PROF. JACOBSON IS MY FAVORITE PROFESSOR AT HCC! I am not a science major, but he made me want to become one. He is very encouraging and wants you to succeed. Zoology was HARD (prepare to learn lots of taxonomy) but very rewarding. I've since taken him for other classes, would 10/10 recommend!

Only graded by 4 exams so you have to do well on all of them. This class has a Gordon rule paper as well but he uses the Gordon rule assignment as extra credit towards your grade. You have to read the powerpoints. A lot of information. Study ahead of time. This class can be hard but he supports you every step of the way.

For bio 1, his tests are 70-100 questions but he provides a study guide with the exact same test questions and that Stu guide has like 35 questions on it right there. All of his test questions comes from the powerpoints. Teaches like your at a university. Cool guy though.

Exams are about 80 multiple choice questions. He offers extra credit questions on the exams too. His exams and the way he teaches are like your at a university so get ready for that. Cool guy. Really nerdy. Homework due on the day of the exams and there's 1 one page writing assignment that's really easy due at the end of the semester. Take him!

The syllabus is slightly confusing. The homework is a lot of writing and the final paper is rough because of its length and general lack of directions. The exam content is mainly based off of the homework, but there's a lot of questions, some being extra-credit. It's not a ridiculously difficult class but the online format is chaotic.

Hands down best professor I have ever had. His lectures are very interesting and engaging. I took it online and he kept me interested the whole time and paying attention. Not a lot of homework. If you just pay attention in class or read the textbook then the class is an easy A. Just take him!!

Professor Jacobson is awesome! His lectures are very engaging. They don't cover all test questions, so you will need to need also read your chapters. Homework is not hard, and he is very accessible via email and will meet one-on-one in virtual office hours to discuss any deficiencies. Take him if you can, he certainly wants us all to do well!

Highly recommend taking this professor. Lectures are very engaging and while the PowerPoints are long, goes over all the information in detail and answers all questions. Accessible during office hours and via email. Lots of extra credit on exams. Exams are mildly challenging but as long as you study the Lectures you'll be ok.

I just finished my Bio ll semester with Professor Jacobson and he has by far been the best professor I have had at HCC. At the beginning, the class may seem overwhelming, but stick with it. Not only are he lectures and syllabus extremely thorough, he genuinely cares about the well being of his students. Overall an amazing experience with this class

One of the nicest people I have ever met. He is always there for you and he does not make attendance mandatory. Lectures can be long, but if you study the powerpoints outside of the class, you are set. I had a D the whole semester until the last two weeks because there is so much extra credit. Homework is easy and usually grades for completion.
