Cares a lot about students. Fair grader with perfect revision method. He teachs a lot and helps out with more office hours. All around best teacher for summer session...Highly recommend

He is the nicest teacher I have ever had. He is not very easy but he explains everything very well and he is very friendly. If you try hard you can get an A in his class.

He is an awesome teacher. I've got a easy "A" and I've learned a lot in his class. I think my essays from now on will be 10x better. Although, don't click a pen in his class..whatever you do, resist from clicking that pen...=P

He is a good teacher and does grade fairly but he has a lot of opinons that hewants to make clear to everyone. He is a very liberal teacher but a fair one.

This teacher is the best. He makes this class fun and interesting and cares about his students. Do your homework and you will pass the class for sure. By the way he hates it when students click their pen. If you do he will take it away other then that his a cool teacher.

I had Mister Joseph in my first semester of college. I really enjoyed his class. He explains things very well is informative and will help you succeed. Yes, he can be opinionated (who isnt?) and hates when you click pens-dont make noises! But other then that he gave me a lot of confidence in my essays, 2 yrs later Im writing a screenplay Go Joseph!

This teacher is very good in telling you what you need fixing in order to have a good paper, he has this weird tendency to take away clicking pens....... so don't even think about doing it!!! Other than that just do your work and you are sure to pass:]

Mr. Joseph is a great English teacher. When I took his class I was not that great of a writer. But this teacher explains a lot and helped me improve my writing a lot. I recommend that you take him as you're english teacher because he well help you out a lot in your writing skills. Just whatever you do DON'T start clicking your pen in his class!!!!!

He is a really good teacher. He is fun, easy grader, but strict at the same time. Get on his good side. Attend class 95% of the time. But whatever you do, just DONT CLICK YOUR PENS. He has a thing about clicking pens. If you do, your not going to see your pen EVER AGAIN. HE EATS THEM. But i recommend you take his class, you will learn alot.

Be prepared to work! ALWAYS use MLA, NEVER click your pen, DO show up on time, be respectful, bring textbook and MLA book every time. He expects excellence - he will help if you let him.

Interesting guy. He's very liberal but uses that to our (students') advantage. The class is mainly essay-based but he truly let's you know what you're doing right and wrong in your essays and it isn't hard to get an A as long as you correct your mistakes. ** DO NOT TAKE CLICKING PENS THOUGH! **

Joseph is the BEST prof ever! he's so kick back. he lets you do group editing 3 or 4 times for each essay... so your chances of getting an A are REALLY high. he tells you exactly what you need to add to your essay to get a good grade. i think that everyone should be able to get at an A in this class. oh and never click your pen! dynamic duo :)

dude this guy is the best! so laid back cool down to earth i had him for fall 2008 and he was really cool. easy class if you try i got a B because i missed some assignments but overall a great teacher. definitely one you will want to take other classes with!

I don't agree that he wants us to write the same thing. He just does not want us to miss any important point. Try to think another way, isn't it easier for us? Because he tells us what we have to include in our essays. And, it's actually important if you really want to write a good essay. I like his way of teaching. He's also a very kind person.

i usually don't like English classes, but i really enjoyed his class. he pretty much gives you the essay structures, so all you need to do is fill in the information. he's a nice and funny guy. got an A, but i had to work hard for it.

I know that some classmates were scared by him at the beginning and thought his class was hard. My advice is -Stay there, and you will know his class is actually not that hard, and he's an easy grader. The most important thing is that you'll really learn how to write a good eassy. Of course you have to work hard to get a good grade.

he seemed sort of intimidating at first, but that was just to clear some space his classroom. he is a nice funny guy when you get to kno him. i recommend taking this class, it improved my writing skills significantly. Just stay in his class and don't drop.

Attendance in class is mandatory. The main textbook was only used on like 2 essays. We were expected to read the novel but I didn't. The deadlines for essays are extremely reasonable. He expects you to follow his structure for every essay, but in hindsight it only makes it easier for you. The discussions before every essay are extremely helpful.

I highly recommend taking Mr. Joseph's class! He is very specific with what he wants in the assigned essays, and is very helpful. He will do an outline with the class then the rest of the time is for peer editing. With all that help, how can you not get an A? Oh yeah, whatever you do, DO NOT CLICK YOUR PEN! Otherwise you got an awesome teacher :-)

i LOVED prof joseph!! he's extremely clear with his directions and helps you with your essays from start to finish. you can miss class once or twice, but be there if you can cause peer editing really helps. at first he can be a little intimidating, but he's funny and he's the best!! and he always sang when i entered the class HAHA hi, mr joseph! :D

He was intimidating at first and he scared off a couple of people in the beginning. However, he is really helpful and a GREAT professor. One bad thing is that when he corrects a student's paper he yells out the mistakes making them feel stupid. Aside from that, I highly suggest that students should take his class.

He is a VERY easy grader. As long as you follow his directions you will get a B or higher on all of his essays! He wants you to follow his ways of writing if you don't then you will have problems. Take him he is an easy A! Also , don't click your pens. :@

He was one of the best English teachers I had at GCC. He's easy but you still learn a lot and all the essay writing topics were fun.

He's really an awesome professor. I took two classes from him before. Now I think back and I really miss his classes! The topics we wrote in his classes were fun and useful. Moreover, Mr. Joseph (if you are reading this), thanks for being strict on grammar! My grammar has been improved a lot since I took your classes :)

MR JOSEPH IS AWESOME. He legit doesnt even read your essay, and gives everyone like an A or B on their essays. He hands them back the next class and when he gives an assignment tells you exactly what each paragraph should state. Hes really specific, and his topics are fun! EASIEST CLASS FOR REAL. attendance is a must tho, even tho its unnecessary.

His essay basically will make or break your grade. Do well on all the essays! he is very helpful and is very clear about everything just make sure you ask him if you are not sure. He is a little tough, until you get to know him. And make sure you attend class, that is very important! overall, he's a pretty good teacher.

Very boring class for a sunday morning but makes it fun by keeping students awake by helping, clarifying, and understanding the actual subject. A very strict instructor for those who don't follow his rules like not paying attention or clicking your pen to disrupt him. Other than that just write well on the bluebooks and its an easy A.

It is actually difficult to get a bad grade in this class because this professor goes beyond what one can do to help. He explains exactly what he wants in the essays and reads them about 3 times. Also, the topics he assigns are very interesting so be prepared to write in detail! My writing has improved so much because of him. Thank you so much!

hes intimidating. get friendly with him. there 5 drafts for each essay before its due. he goes over each one and tells you what to correct. poor english speakers in my class got As. he wants college level writing!

He expects and admires hard working, honest, motivated students. If you're lazy and incompetent, this class will be hell for you. He's very blunt, but in a tough love kinda way. After this class, I felt very confident in my writing abilties. Thank you professor Joseph!

Professor Joseph is very clear about what he's looking for in your essays. Lots of peer review sessions and one-on-one help with him that it is hard for a person to get a bad grade! Must attend class if you want to improve your essays. As long as you try, you will most likely get a B or an A! TAKE HIM! :)

This class is a total disaster. 80%of the class dropped. he looks scary and is indeed scary. not recommended for most people.

He is a very helpful teacher who knows what he is looking for in essays. The number one rule is DO NOT CLICK A PEN IN THAT CLASS. YOU WILL BE KCIKED OUT. Be prepared for politically based essays with peer review and 5 copies each paper. You have to read the book 1984 By George Orwell and write a 15-20 pg research paper on that book. He is great!!!!

Do not click pens. If you follow his instructions you will get a good grade! I really enjoyed taking his class. I learned a lot and he was very helpful!

HIGHLY RECCOMEND. You will see an improvement on your writing with him. Do not be lazy and that is all. Prepare to make a lot of copies of essays, poor trees.

Every wk you had to prepare for an essay and bring 5 copies to class and share it with couple ppl which I didnt like that and it was a hassle . YOU NEED TO KNOW HOW TO CITE AND DO NOT CLICK PENS OR TEXT. His last research paper was on 1984 and you had to write 15-20 pgs on it & it was pretty hard.. is final was a in class essay.

Professor Joseph was the best! Had a lot of essays to write (10), but no other homework. Gives clear instructions on how to write each essay, and gives a lot of feedback. Really easy to pull of a great essay with all the attention he gives. Just be on time, and don't use your phone in class! Unless you can hide it. Will take him again!

Amazing guy. We had around 6 essays, 2 were in class. Tells you EXACTLY how to write the essay, basically gives you half of what you need to write. Gives plenty of time to write them, average 2 weeks. Class time spent "reviewing papers", AKA doing nothing. Articles he uses in book can be found online, dont buy it. Easy A, dont bring clicking pen.

One of my favorite teachers. Tells you exactly what he expects on the essays, spends most of the class times to peer review, and takes the time to go over your essay and tell you what needs to be improved to get a better grade once you actually turn it in. Don't click a pen, pay attention, stay on his good side and you'll be fine! Taking him again!

good teacher great write, although he makes you do an essay on his movie that he produced.... really strange movie overall ended the class with a B

the entire class is essay writing (8 total) no tests, quizzes, or homework. he assigns a topic and gives you about 4-5 classes to peer edit and have him proof read. fun class to take with friends if you're willing to put in the time at home.

This professor is the best. He lets you rewrite your essays like 3-4 times and reviews it and explains how to make it better. I hope he teaches 104, I will definitely take him again!

Amazing professor, might seem like kind of a jerk at first but he softens up later in the semester, he's very intelligent and loves to debate with his students. He is one of the better profs I've taken at GCC, just make sure you don't click any pens, he'll have your head!

His class consists of just editing your papers over and over again with your peers. He reviews it like four times before you actually turn it in. No homework, test or quizzes, just bring in your drafts. Do not get on his bad side by acting immature or coming in late or clicking a pen. I'm definitely taking his 104 class. Highly recommend him.

Prof. Joseph was one of the most awesome English teachers I've ever had. I was a C average student in high school but he helped me get my essays to college level. Once you understand what he expects from you, you'll be getting A's on your papers. Every teacher I've had afterwards praised my writing skills. Also, he's a real funny guy. Recommend.

Took him for 101 and happily took him again for English104. He explains what he expects from you and what he is looking for in the papers he assigns. Show up to class and show him you're trying. He helps students who want to learn how to become better writers. Theres maybe like 7-8 essays but you rewrite each essay 5 times before you turn it in

I've learned so much from Professor Joesph and he honestly pushes his students to become college-level writers. He gives you multiple class periods to receive feedback and peer revisions from your classmates. Not only that, he goes around the classroom to give you personal feedback as well. I would highly recommend this class!!!!!

I enjoyed writing his essays , we even watched his movie which was really inspirational. I do not think that I would have benefited from other instructors as much as I did in his class. The essays that we wrote made me think differently in a way I never did before,and most importantly I loved how he treated us as adults. THANK YOU !!

Prof. Joseph is one of the best teachers I've had at GCC! He is so kind and funny and is willing to help you if you need it. He truly cares for his students. Lots of writing in his class but they are all subjects that are interesting and important involving current events. He has no tests or quizzes and barely any homework. only essays. TAKE HIM!

In this class the students bring in drafts of their essays to class each day. He will read them and there will be peer editing. There are plenty of opportunities to fix your papers and get A's. One thing to consider is his strong political ideology and criticism of the 1%. I found myself writing what he wanted to hear instead of what I believe.

Hands down, the easiest class I've taken. You will probably have 3-5 drafts before handing him the actual essay. Just do thing his way and you will get an A. and yeah, he gets annoyed from the pen clicking.

I have writing anxiety and i got an A in this class. I improved because he cares for his students and pushes us. Pros: he gives thesis, outline, prompt way in advance. Cons: can't procrastinate, read articles and a book. It also helps to email him drafts, see tutors for support. worth the growth.

If you are taking the class just to pass it, dont take this professor. But if you care about the knowledge you can gain, and willing to work for that, I definitely recommend taking him. He takes his time and energy to help students become better writers, and gain necessary knowledge.

Professor S. Joseph is the nicest and most helpful professor you can ever take for an English class. The class requires work but he doesn't torture you for non mandatory grammar issues, instead, making you think and write like a professional as he is. Do not hesitate to take him for any available class!

Truly one of the kindest professors I have taken. He is very understanding and gives great feedback on your paper. The whole class revolves around writing detailed essays, which is very time consuming but if you put the time in, it's doable.
