He is a great guy
entertaining and great teacher. he applies what you learn to everyday life, using real examples. plus he give you lots of free advice on life.
fun class, actually learn how to use things in everyday life
fun and jokes around, relates class to every day life
great teacher makes things extreamly easy to understand
He was very funny
He is definitely one of the best teachers here at DePaul! He is so funny, and makes everything is so understandable. I definitely recommend him.
wonderful guy!Intelligent yet down to earth--fair grader.
He is so easy to follow. Don't miss his reviews before his test!!!! He tells you everything that will be on the final and midterm in detail. He is a very fair grader!!!
Very clear, very funny, understands that students get bored easily so he makes the examples funny, must have for business law!
GOOD TEACHER! Use Mr. Manilla for your BLW 201 class! he is entertaining and helpful, fun class! however, i didn't do as well on his midterm as i thought, he said he curves but i will see for sure.
if you say his name real fast it sounds like salmonella which is already funny in itself. this professor is awesome. entertaining. fair. wants you to learn. i wish he taught other classes like art history or philosophy which need the humor.
one of my favorite at depaul. hes awesome. show up to class, do the case studies and youll do fine. very funny guy. makes class interesting.
good class. prof. is funny and relates material w real life examples. one midterm, one final. do the reading and you should be fine.
Sam is THE MAN. Yeah, if you say his name fast it sounds like that great food poisoning, which is pretty funny in itself. Knows everything but still manages to keep class interesting, and FUN. Gives you all sorts of "free legal advice" too.
Take this guy, he relates everything very well, and grades very givingly.
two tests multiple choice and true/false. easy grader. funny guy. uses real life examples for issues. great teacher, must for BLW 201

By far the FUNNIEST PROFESSOR at DePaul!!! Sure, he is very easy and entertaining, but you actually learn because of that - he makes it interesting like no other professor!!!!
Manella is awesome...take him!!! Funny as hell, bad thing is he hates the Cubs alot. But easy grader & basically a really cool guy.
By far the best teacher I've had at DePaul - makes class interesting, is entertaining and absolutely hilarious, and lets you out of class early a lot. Make sure to get him for BLW 201!

Sam is a really cool teacher. He is funny and interesting. He wants you to learn so his tests are not that easy. Tons of true/false which sucks. Only a midterm & final for the grade. Interesting class.
Sam is the greatest professor ever. He really makes the material interesting with personal stories and things that are currently happening in the business world. Be sure to come to class and take notes, and you will do well on the midterm and final!
Sam is a great guy..he is the teacher that all students love...he relates the boring book terms to more interesting situations...he jokes around but HATES the CUBS...but honestly this class is no blow off...but honestly the most fun ive had at depaul...its what a college class should be
Sam's a great BLW prof., but not so great MGT prof. In all fairness, the MGT course was dropped in his lap at the last minute. For BLW, listen to what he says he wants you to know, and you'll do fine on the exams. For MGT, know everything, but again, listen to what he says he wants regarding essay Q
HE IS AN OK TEACHER!!! He does not teach. To get an "A" in the class you have to memorize the entire outline of the book!!!
Excellent teacher!!Makes learning fun!Tests are mixture of multiple choice,t/f,and essays. Essays make up most of grade!! Study! Although, teacher is very lenient on essay answers. As long as you put effort in your essays, he will give you fair credit!
This class is weak for law. I took a much more comprehensive class as an undergrad at U of I. Needs to do more in terms of case studies and give better, clearer examples.
didn't like this class
this guy knows his stuff. he actually played for depaul! Way cool. BLW is still a hard class, but he makes it fun
hard subject, but manella explains it pretty good. would definantly reccomend.
funny guy. retells his jokes though. He tells stories to relate to the content of the class, which made business law easier to understand. I took his night class and he usually let us out early.
This teacher is great, but this may not be the teacher to take if you are not a good test taker. Your mid-term term is worth 50% and Final is worth 45% and the other 5% is case studies and attendance.
He is a great professor. He is very funny. I didn't do much reading and did the case studies and got a B. He lets you out early everytime and he ends class 1 week early.
He goes on and on and on about stuff but he's a funny guy. you really need to read the book so you can know what he's talking about during class, otherwise you'll be lost. But he's really funny. No breaks and do the briefs!
Loved his class....def take him if you can! He's funny and entertaining!!!
Amazing professor! Guaranteed to entertain you! He is one of the most intelligent teachers I have met at Depaul and I wish he could teach all my classes. It was honestly a pleasure to go to his classes. There was not one empty seat every week during the quarter, that says enough about a teacher.
Sam made a 3 hour class at 9:00 go by very fast. He doesn't teach by the book, but make sure you read b/c your tested on the info on in the book.
best teacher ive ever had. and hes hot.
This guy is ****ing awesome the best teacher that i have ever had, although you have to read the book before test days the rest of the class is a blast to go to.
He was amazing. When I did come to class, he always had a funny story from his life that related to the book. He almost always let us out early. The midterm and final were a piece of cake. TAKE HIM!!
really funny and nice! Very clear in his explanations....great class overall! (great stories too)
He is one of the funniest and best teachers i've had! You just have to read the material to do well! Grades how he wants, so if he likes you you'll get a n A...but his tests are HARD!!!
this was the best class ive ever taken. professor manella is the greatest teacher at depaul & everyone should take him. do the breifs- hes extremely helpful & is there to clarify anything. Its a great class to take with him- especially since the material is interesting..hes great to stare at for a couple hours & hes amazingly hot... ;)
he is a great teacher. very entertaining and funny. make sure you do the briefs. also read the chapters before midterm and final and study from the study guide. very helpful!! TAKE HIM !!
He is awesome! Tries his best. Take him!
WHILE AN EASY GRADER, HE'S STILL A GREAT TEACHER AND I HEAR A GOOD LAWYER, TOO. ANYONE WHO HAS HAD HIM KNOWS HE'S THE BEST. HE'S ALSO DARNED HANDSOME. I LOVE HIS SMILE. HE'S GOT GREAT TEETH.
He is the italian father I never had. You have to be legally retarded not to like this guy. Only class I never skipped. Read the chaters, then just sit back and enjoy his stories for the next hour or so.
1. He's hot naturally and his personality makes him 10 times hotter. 2. He makes hard material fun and intersting to learn. 3. He uses real experiences to have you focused during class. I'm the type that should be on aderol and I would deeeeeeef not need it for this class. Take him!! oh and 50% midterm/50% final but they're easy if you go to class
Best professor at depaul. a great lawyer and helpd you understand complicated material with real world examples. go to class take notes and you'll be fine on the exams. Take him he's a babe!
Great teacher...makes the textbook knowledge interesting with his real life examples....easy grader as long as you read the book and do the briefs. Study guide is very helpful for his tests.!!! Highly recommended.
Overall a very good professor. He started class late a few times to allow for train delay issues. Not an easy class, but you will learn a lot. He's personable and does a good job of explaining the material. recommended.
This is one of the most fun classes at DePaul. He has real life experience and put together with this type of material definitely makes it much easier to learn. 50% midterm 50% final. They're not bad mostly t/f and mc. Its not an easy A, but a B should not be hard to get as long as you pay attention to what he says and at least read the summari
Very interesting class. He is very clear at explaining all of the difficult materials. Study guide highly recommended. 50% midterm, 50% final, which are T/F and Multiple Choice.
had him for BLW which he is good at teaching, but boy is he horrible at teaching MGT. Beats a topic into the ground, lectures from the book (prof. assume we already read the text), barely brings in any real life examples (articles! books! handouts!)... etc. Needs to step away from lecturing from the textbook, I am bored as hell. Test&Midterm :(
This class was one of the best I've had thus far. The only night class that I actually looked forward to(crazy.. I know!). He's funny, interesting, and he teaches you stuff you'll actually use in life. It's not EASY but you learn a lot. If you take good notes when he lectures, you don't even need to buy the book. I recommend him.. and ladies.. he's
Manella is a very interesting professor with field experience in business law. He was informative and gave examples that made the text come alive (he is funny too!). Intensely studied from the book and did the briefs-- came out with an A! DEFINITELY READ the obnoxiously large/expensive book.
Loved Prof. Manella. He's so easy to listen to and will stop if he thinks he's being boring. He was lenient on my final paper (didn't fulfill all the requirements) and I still pulled off an A in the class. Minimal homework... just some handouts to read usually. TAKE HIM he's funny and intertaining
great teacher and makes the topics interesting! uses great life examples! best teacher at depaul...you want to take his class...and he's hot
This guy is awesome. His hilarious stories help you remember the not so fun concepts. His tests are all true/false and multiple choice. He's a fair grader, entertaining , and ALWAYS lets you go early. TAKE HIM.
Prof Manella is awesome! He brings real world examples that apply to the text. Overall, the best Prof at DePaul! His jokes are hilarious, test are tricky. I highly recommend doing the briefs and using the study guide! Attend every class; he's not boring at all, it will help you understand the material, which is complex.
AMAZING professor! I never missed a class. Hillarious, yet still taught real world applications. Buy his study guide though, because the exams may seem hard. However, I did the study guide and got an A in the class..take him you will not regret it!
He is not teaching well and not solving any multiple choice questions although it is so important for CPA Exam and also he is finishing class very early.
Manella is the best professor I have had at DePaul so far in my 3 years here. I had him for Business Ethics and Business Law and no matter the topic, he makes it interesting and relatable. He's hilarious too, and fun to talk baseball with! Take his class, you will learn a lot and not be bored to tears while learning it.
Sam was great in teaching the Business Law aspects required for the CPA test. He's funny and engaging. I really liked him and would take him again in a 'real class' if I have the chance. The CPA Review classes are not graded.
Doesn't really know material well, not enthusiastic, always saying he's tired, class not really clear, grade based on midterm & final not comprehensive. Just read the material before exams.
BEST LAW PROFESSOR I HAD! Makes the material as fun and entertaining as possible. Really great guy and is actually a lawyer, so he knows what he is talking about.
i signed up for another teacher for business ethics, but got him instead. i was lucky because he is a great professor. He kept the class entertaining and fun to attend, only 4 graded assignments with a community service requirement..TAKE HIM I'm taking him again for business law hopefully in the future!
Super nice and funny! He goes over everything on the exam durring class so as long as you write down the terms that he mentions then you shouldn't have a problem. He is a really easy grader and appreciates when you bullsh*t when you don't know the answer. Great teacher! i 100% recommend him! Super handsome too!
What an easy and fun class. Sometimes the easiest classes are super boring, but not this class. It is very easy but you want to go class just to see what he will say next. What a great guy!
Sam is an awesome guy. His classes are fun to go to and really make all of the information you learn applicable to everyday life. As long as you pay attention and listen to what he says will be on the tests you will do fine. This is the second time I have taken him and will a third if I can.
This guy is great. And he's pretty good-looking in that middle-aged-dad kind of way. Everyday is a class discussion with no lectures at all. You will never be tested on anything that he doesn't mention in class so don't bother getting the book. There's only a midterm, final, and a paper. Guaranteed B+/A- if you pay attention.
Great teacher. His examples make no sense when he first says them, but give it a few minutes, and it's crystal clear. Book use very low, but he did go over a couple of cases from it. Super easy and entertaining.
The business ethics class is fairly easy. Service project, midterm, and final.. that's it. I got an "A" but definitely took away some good stuff from this class. If available, select Manella!!!
Manella is a pretty fun professor. Some of his lectures can get boring but they are very useful in a practical setting. Midterm/final: 50%/50%. Mostly true-false questions. Just a heads up
Manella is awesome. The class discussions are usually pretty interesting, but he never takes attendance. There is only a midterm and final test, not cumulative. They are all short answer essay questions which sucks, but it isn't hard. Reading the book is helpful but not entirely necessary. What he talks about in class is more important.
Professor Manella is one of my favorite professors to date. He is enthusiastic about the material and wants his students to do well in the class and succeed in business. Go to class, read the book, and you will do well.
Awesome teacher, highly recommend! Grades consist of midterm, final, and a paper due at the end of the quarter. Attendance is not mandatory, but you should attend every class because majority of his lectures are on the exams.
Great guy very personable and helpful. Just remember on the tests write as much as possible and you will be good.
Manella is an amazing guy. Definitely take him if you can. He is funny and makes class very interesting. I actually looked forward to going to his class. Grade is 50-50 midterm/final. However, he will boost your grade when you turn in the briefs and based on your attendance.
This class was great and Prof. Manella has been my favorite professor at DePaul so far. He is clear in his assignments, and fair in grading. Take him if you can.
I think he is the BEST teacher at DePaul! I stop him in the halls if I see him. He made class worth going to with his experience as a lawyer. Midterm and Final, watch out for those true/false, one word can trip you up. Overall: AWESOME GUY! and of course ladies, he's dashingly good looking :)
Really easy. Boring. & you need to go to class. But not difficult at all.
Manella has been my favorite teacher at DePaul so far. He made things easy to understand and I actually enjoyed going to his class. He wants you to do well and will help you get a good grade!
This guy is the man! Funny and has some great examples! Take notes because his class is 50/50 midterm and final. Overall, awesome professor!
Outstanding professor! He has a lot of life experience to relate to his lectures and incorporates great humor which keeps the class interested. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he keeps an eye on who shows up regularly. It's probably not a good idea to miss lectures anyways because he teaches the important information he pulls from the book.
Great professor!! Take him if you can!! Thank You Professor Manella!
Indubitably the best doctor this side of the Mississippi.
Manella rocks! He has great examples and is very transparent with what he expects from you and what he wants you to know. For an older man, pretty hot too.
I love his teaching techniques and his "real life" approach. Lectures are pretty much based off of his experience as a professional in mgmt and he is very clear with his expectations. If you go to class and pay attention, you will definitely succeed.
Great class. Great guy! Good time. Go to class--he makes it fun.
HILARIOUS!!! Amazing professor. Has a lot of real life experience which he incorporates in his lectures to make things super clear. He is very open about things he expects from his students and will do his best to give you the best grade he can. Attend every class its definitely worth it!
6 briefs, final and midterm. He will curve the final and midterm and curve the final grade based on attendance, participation, and doing the briefs. Buy the study guide - it will help immensely. Easy professor, great guy, very knowledgeable. I loved this class.
Great teacher. I didn't buy the study guide and I was fine, but thats because I read and took good notes. Got a 81 on the midterm, came to class, did the briefs, and got an A in the class.
Cool, funny teacher. He doesn't take attendance but he does outline the most important stuff for the tests so you might as well go. Plus he jokes around a lot and lets you out early. The only way you don't get an A or B is if you absolutely don't even try a little. He's really nice and isn't out to screw up people's GPAs. PS Get the study guide.
this professor is my favorite!!! I love him. he makes class interesting giving examples. take him if you can.!!!
Definitely one of my favorite professors ever! His discussions keep you interested the whole time and I love his sense of humor! He relates everything to real life, so nothing seems abstract! Also, if you show interest and if you're active in the class, you WILL get an A even if you don't get As on your midterm and final. He's AMAZING.
He taught the entire 1.5 hours only once during the quarter. Expect to get out 15-40 minutes early. Book isn't useful, but necessary for briefs. BUY THE STUDY GUIDE. It is just like the 2 exams. He is an active attorney with great insight.
Took him for Business Law, WISH I took him for MGT 300. The teacher I'm with now is horrible and I'm writing this rating while I'm writing a 5 page "micro manager" report. Take Manella for MGT 300 if you can.
really funny teacher but i didn't take any notes in class because hes not really clear about what the actual topic is..gives examples no real def'ns. Kinda hard to study for the class. Briefs are done just to help your grade. great fun teacher though.
Funny guy. Gets out early all the time. Read the book & do the problems. Exams are hard if you only take notes during class without reading the book. 1 mid term, 1 final, do the weekly problems if you want extra credit.
Great teacher, know the material hes covering but, more importantly hottest dad ever, period.
HE IS THE ABSOULTE BEST! HE MAKES EVERYTHING SO EASY!!TAKE HIM EASY A! HE IS A NICE PROFESSOR THAT WANTS YOU TO SUCCEED!COME TO CLASS LISTEN TO HIS LECTURE AND YOU ARE GOOD!
Manella is one of the coolest professors at DePaul for sure. He is always providing real life examples from his years in law which makes understanding concepts SO much easier. Buy the study guide somewhere, because it will help a lot of the midtermfinal! Briefs are not difficult! Overall, awesome professor who wants everyone to do well!
Manella is honestly a great guy. He cares about everybody and genuinely wants everybody to grasp the concepts. I advise you to always attend class because the content is too hard to understand from just reading the book. His lectures contain real world examples because he's literally a lawyer. Tons of respect for him, take Business law with him!
Sam is straightforward with what he wants, he's a hilariously cynical guy with great examples integrated into his lectures. His tests are challenging but that's because law can by a technical, dry thing to read about. He puts emphasis on coming to class and participating in his lectures.
He is a great professor, and extremely funny. He knows what he is talking about and gives great examples. If you go to class and show you are trying and do the cases you should get a good grade. Exams are challenging, but if you study you should do well.
This class was really enjoyable with Manella. He urges you to attend class & it really is the best thing to do. His lectures are funny & not boring. He gives real life examples & genuinely wants his students to do well! The midterm & final are tricky bc theres 50 TF ?s but if you read the chapters each week & do the case studies you should do well
He is an amazing teacher. He gives you whatever grade he wants because he can he is the professor. Just show up to class pay attention do the BRIEFS he looks at that to see if you were attentive and helps your grade. He does not want to fail his students and if you show him you care he won't fail you. TAKE HIM! )
Professor Manella really knows his stuff! He uses real world experience and his lectures are entertaining. He is really funny and cares about his students. The midterm and final are kind of tough but study the summaries at the end of each chapter and you should be fine. He wants all his students to pass! Take him!
Professor Manella was an amazing instructor. His class is completely based on lecture but he gives great examples to help understand the various laws, etc. Your grade is based off of the midterm (50%) and the final (50%) as well as extra credit case briefs that are turned in at the end of the final. He gives the grade that he thinks you deserve.
Amazing teacher! Really wants all of his students to do well and learn a lot. I learned so much from this class! I would recommend anyone to take him. He is always willing to help. Just make sure you go to all the classes because the examples he gives you will help out a lot on the midterm and final.
Super funny and kind man. His lectures are interesting and he literally spells out what to expect for midterm and final. A lot of content, as long as you show up for his classes and take notes then you should be okay!
Genuine guy who wants his students to do well. Explains the material well in class, but I recommend reading over the concepts he reviews in class in the textbook. Very helpful outside of class and is hilarious. Also, he does not assign that many cases for hw, which are due on the day of the final. A lot of content is covered before the midterm.
You will end up knowing more about his life than anything in management. His classes are irrelevant with what you need to study. The tests are all based on the readings so prepare to read the whole book. Take him if you are good at learning on your own.
MGT 300 is definitely harder than his BLW 201 class because the tests are 2/3 writing and not all multiple choice. Everything is based off the book and he simply talks the whole class with no PowerPoints or any visuals
Sam is the best. Class is 50% midterm 50% final. He doesn't provide notes so you just have to write down everything he says when he lectures but he's super funny and the examples he provides are helpful in understanding the material. Also hot for a dad!!
This guy is awesome. If show interest in the class he will not fail you. His lectures are not dull or boring, but its really fun. Just make sure he gets to know you and your name. It can really help your grade. I had a D on the midterm, but receive a B as the final grade. Do the extra credit it will help your grade.
Would highly recommend. Go to all his lectures because he makes the material really easy to understand. Take good notes. He gives you whatever grade he wants so be super nice to him! His classes are usually pretty interesting. You only need the summaries of each chapter so you can save money by getting them from a friend.
one of the best teachers at Depaul he is a Lawer and incorporates his real world experience in his class. I took his 3 hr nightclubs and I didn't want to leave he teaches you so much. only 2 tests midterm and final also some case briefs that take 10 minutes
SAM IS THE MAN. Hands down one of the best professors I have ever had. He is hilarious and always kept me interested. He cares about his students actually LEARNING instead of grades and tests. I have never had a more understanding, passionate professor. TAKE HIM I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.
Sam was one of my favorite professors Ive had at DePaul. Super interesting to listen to and gives good examples to what youre learning that help on the midterm and final. Midterm and final is challenging, but if you do a good job on the case briefs and he knows your name/likes you, youll get an A no matter what you get on the tests. TAKE HIM!
Take him for BLW! Hes so knowledgeable and knows how to describe law terms in ways to comprehend. Hes a Lawyer so he has a lot of experience and doesnt act like a strict professor typically used to. Midterm, Final, and 5 case briefs. Study for tests but put focus on the briefs - thats where a lot of the grade comes in. TAKE TAKE TAKE SAM MANELLA
Sam's lectures are sometimes quite dense, but he always uses humor and examples to help keep the class engaged. Two exams and five case studies comprise your final grade in the class, so there's not much work to do outside of class. If you take decent notes in class and study them, you should do well on the exams. I definitely suggest taking him!
Sam was just awesome! He's a very funny guy, but at the same time he can serious when it comes to real-world example. You can just tell, that he's been a lawyer for a long time, as long as you pay attention and find someone to do the briefs with you will be in great shape. Also, to be sure to take some notes and study them for the exams.
A good choice for people who are not majoring in law and needs to take it as a prerequisite course. Professor Manella looks for effort within his students and will give you a good grade as long as you show him that you have tried in his class and do the case briefs that he assigns.
The grade being based off of a midterm, a final, and some briefs is daunting at first, but Professor Manella made the course manangeable and entertaining. Though attendance isn't really mandatory, his hilarious true stories in class relate directly to the subject matter and help you remember concepts for tests. 100% the right choice for BLW201.
Manella is the best teacher I've had at DePaul. Lectures include examples that leave you laughing out loud and help you remember content for exams. Take good lecture notes. Most of the content is covered before the midterm. The tests weren't the easiest because the majority was T/F, but if you come to class and pay attention, you'll do well.
Best professor I've had thus far at DePaul. Gives funny, memorable examples for certain terms/scenarios during lecture. Make sure you take notes of the terms he goes over during lecture. Midterm and final are mostly T/F and they're pretty straightforward - many of the questions are straight from scenarios he went over during class.
By far one of the best professors at DePaul, the epitome of what a college professor should be. He is heavy on leadership and pushes students to be authentic leaders capable of handling ethical dilemmas. His teachings are based on real-life examples and not standardized dry book material. I only wished he taught other management classes.
Take him if you get the opportunity. He is the goat of teaching law.
Professor Manella is one of the best teachers Ive had at DePaul! Hes hilarious and gives great, memorable examples of the terms that are going to be on the tests. Highly recommend him!!
This class is a finesse, no homework just the Midterm and Final. Manella is genuinely a good guy and and wants you to get something out of the class. He's an absolute savage with his jokes and I genuinely liked being in class. Thanks for the A chief.
class is entirely lecture but makes it interesting with fun examples. 50% midterm 50% final. tests are all T/F and multiple choice. does not use D2L but responds to emails quickly. night class always gets out early. textbook needed but found an online version for free. focus on his examples.
Sam is a great guy and super funny but it's tought to prepare for the midterm and final, I found them pretty challenging. Night class you always get out before 8 and there's just a midterm and final ans a 20 minute case brief project. He is super generous with grades though!
I love this guy!!! The material is dry but his stories made the class fun. He always had us laughing out loud. He knows so much about the field and he's really passionate about it. The midterm and final weren't that hard, there are quizlets online so study those and you'll be fine. He really wants us to do well so it's hard to fail. TAKE HIM!
To be honest, the lectures are boring but WATCH THEM! He tells you what you need to know for exams and gives you real-world examples to explain concepts. Class is graded on only midterm and final (50% each).
He's a nice guy. 50% midterm 50% final. You can get extra credit by doing the case briefings. His lectures aren't mandatory but great for examples. The content isn't that hard but I would skim the chapters.
Took this class during December Intercession. 50% midterm and 50% final, but Quizlet and the textbook are solid study tools to pass those. You don't really need to attend the lectures past the first few days. He is pretty generous when it comes to rounding; brought my B+ to an A after turning in the 6 cases that were assigned. Solid prof overall :)
Prof Manella is AMAZING! Lectures are so engaging and interesting. You def have to read the book and attend lecture to do well - 50% midterm and 50% final is your whole grade but it isn't bad. It could be a boring class but he shares lots of stories and knows his stuff. Take him!!
I really struggled in this class. When it came to the exam, it was totally not what I was expecting. The questions are situation based. He often goes off on tangents when lecturing. When you ask him how to study he says read the book. Really, that how you study? Hes a nice guy, wants you to do well but if you are expecting an A, try somewhere else.
Overall great professor, lectures are actually interesting and he covers most of the topics in class. Midterm and final are true/false + multiple choice
Super nice guy, you can tell he is passionate about his work, and he wants students to succeed. Sometimes he goes off-topic which is a bit annoying. But I would take this prof.
This class was super annoying. The prof doesn't use any any technology so if you miss class I hope you know someone who took notes. I don't understand why this class is even required all, companies have a legal department, no accountant be expected to know any law. Only midterm & final 50 T/F & 50 MC each. EC opportunity about case briefs.
Attend class he gives real life examples to help explain legal concepts that make it more understandable. There are no slides to go with the lectures, be prepared to take notes. Will need to brief some cases that he will use as part of your grade to help boost it. Only a midterm and final 50 T/F and 25 MC. Questions are situational based.
Very interesting class. If you got to class you will be fine. No homework, homework that is given is used as extra credit. Only graded materials are the midterm and final.
Only graded on midterm, final, and one other assignment. Went on tangents during lectures. Didn't put any information at all on the D2L page (not tech savvy) so all you could do was go to class and listen to the boring lecture or read the very long and boring textbook, which made it super hard to study for tests. Nice guy, but take someone else.
Professor Manella is the best professor I've had not only at depaul but in general. the only graded work we had was the midterm and the final but as long as you pay attention to what he talks about you'll do great. he's also a good grader. his lectures are very interesting and helpful for the real world. he is a very bright person to learn from.
Lectures may be dry, but Professor Manella brings the material to life with real-world examples. Exams are 50/50 midterm and final - focus on the textbook and use Unstuck AI for efficient exam prep.
I really enjoyed talking Professor Manellas course. One of the best professors I've had in DePaul so far. Every class is a lecture, but he makes the material very interesting. There are only three things graded, the midterm, the final, and case studies. He is also very understanding of students, and is both a hilarious and funny guy.
Great professor and easy class
This professor was awesome and gave real-life experiences as examples which made it much easier to remember topics during exams. Classes were always a little too short in my opinion but easy class to take.
Professor Manella explained the content well and gave many examples. You're graded on two exams and one final paper (8-10 pages). He doesn't use tech - everything will be given in class. He cancels class often and classes are 50 minutes or less. Exams are responding to 5 questions by hand (expected to write 2 pages per each)
Great professor i would take any class he was the instructor for that i wanted. Great man..... Dan Risley Sr.
The best professor!
I was dreading an 8:30 am class, but this changed on day 1. Professor Manella is genuinely such a cool guy and a great teacher. He was the sole motivation I had to go to this morning class, and his lectures always kept me awake and entertained. All you have to do is put a little effort in, and you're golden—10/10 great guy.
midterm, a paper on a topic you pick and he approves, and a final, no other quizzes or tests, no extra credit he does not post ANYTHING on D2L, any important dates he tells you in class if you miss something important he will summarize it for you i recommend recording his lectures as he will go on tangents
Great professor, must pay attention in class or you'll be lost but overall he's amazing
