The post below me could not be more off the mark. He is patient and kind. He answers qustions w/crystal clarity. He is very serious and does not joke around at all. Maybe that is why some think he is mean, but he is not mean at all just very serious. Loves what he teaches and it shows.

I'm not going to say that he's mean or even really a hard teacher. But when it comes to the tests, whatever it is the class does really bad on a whole always, but on the plus side there is always a major curve on every test. Homework are online quizzes which can be tricky. The key is to focus and read what he assigns

hes is a really good teacher, although the subject isnt the easiest to understand. the class deals alot with charts which are confusing but he will spend more then enough time explain thing to make sure you understand, the key is to just ask questions, do not be afraid to learn cuz he will teach you

Taking him for macro. Notes aren't really needed for assignments/quizes, but he does use them to help explain it. Best bet would be to read, and then understand the key terms and how to apply them. Good teacher, I recommend him. Yes, he does curve-but dont let that trick you into thinking you'll automatically pass. He appreciates hard work/effort

I really loved this class. Dr. Mikhail is a professor I'm really going to miss. I loved his humor and his lectures are great. I didn't use the book at all. I took notes on his lectures and studied his power point presentations. Online quizzes are really helpful and his tests are fair.

I thought this class was very tough--I felt lost during most of it. I took tons of notes, but didn't feel it helped on tests; tests are very hard. Didn't think he was helpful when people asked questions. He does grade on a curve and drops lowest test. Somehow I got an A, so I guess others were more lost than me!

Easy class. Great teacher. You have to read to do well on the tests. Pay attention in class to lectures and put a little work in and you will do well. Explains things clearly. Curves grades alot. Took him twice, he was awesome both times.

Took his Macro Economics class. Easy enough so long as you READ THE BOOK. Very helpful and willing to answer questions. Plenty of extra credit.

Online class: He gives you all of the materials you need to succeed. Great notes and chapter guides. Gives extra credit assignments to replace bad grades, and help on final. Not great at returning emails, but otherwise a great class!

Dr Mikhail, Is awesome he's very passionate about ecomnics and and it shows. His class can be hard for some that want to do the bear min, but if you pay attention, come to class everyday, ask questions and do the homework you should pass by with a A! This class is a hybrid class he likes to use Angel alot! Overall great proff!

Difficult to understand, and not approachable. He's ridiculous in many aspects but if you can just get past him, the class itself is easy and he gives a lot of chances for extra credit. Tests are not too difficult either. His power points suck, using the book is easier.

I took his class online and it was not difficult at all. He really gives you a good chance at getting a good grade especially with all the extra credit. I really appreciate an instructor like him, it seems like he wants all of his students to succeed!!! I will be taking him again for micro!!!

He is a Really good teacher, It was an easy class. Just look up the answers in the book or online, he sometimes lets you have open book quizzes in school and half of his exams are just online. he gives you so many chances to not just drop one exam but two! he is a little hard to understand but an all around good teacher!

This professor is the best! Lectures are easy to understand because he gives real life examples. Nice, helpful, and takes his time after class to resolve any issues and questions you have. He gives plenty of extra credit making his class impossible to fail. Read the chapters and the online assessments and quizzes will be a breeze!

He doesn't complicate this class, it is fairly simple. Quizzes are multiple choice, open book and open notes (except for final) provides lots of bonus points and explains the material well.

This class was great. Prof. Mikhail really is a great guy and a great professor--He breaks everything up for you and gives awesome notes, so make sure you take them to study! He is very funny and and personable and I enjoyed his class just because he was the professor! Take good notes, study them, do the extra credit and hw, and you'll be fine!

Online: Dr. Mikhail is a great professor. He is very helpful and returns emails promptly. If you do all the assignments and the extra credit you will do well. I took the course in the summer and it was not overwhelming. I would recommend Dr. Mikhail for anyone taking economics!

This guy is exellent. I took micro with him and I will take him for macro. He drops the lowest quiz and he has lots of extra credits. Loves economics and answered my emails on same day.

His class was so easy!!! His lectures are on powerpoint, sometimes it gets a little boring, but hey, thats college. His tests are a little difficult, but if you read the chapter, you will do well. He offers tons of extra credits throughout the course so I dont know anyone who would fail this course.

He is a really smart guy and really knows economics. The macro material can be tough but his style of class and work is somewhat easy. The live interactive tv isn't fun but overall i would recommend this teacher.

Great teacher. Took him for Macro and taking his class again for Micro. His tests are easy it is open notes and open book. If You read the chapter and go to class you will do great. His test are multiple choice. He gives you plenty extra credit so you can do good in the class and make up for some bad grades you may have got on homework.

He is funny. Gives extra credit. He'll drop your lowest quiz grade. If you take more than one bad quiz he will put more weight on your final. ALWAYS makes sure you understand what he is saying. You just have to read and do the assignments and you'll be okay. So you do have to put effort in (just like any regular class). Would take again.

The class starts out pretty easy but gets hard towards the end. You have to study but even then sometimes the questions can be a little tricky. Prof Mikhail is really great though and he gives you a lot of opportunities to make up points you might have missed, with a TON of options to earn extra credit. As long as you work for the A, you'll get it.

I took it online and I found it hard even though I read the chapters and PowerPoint slides provided by him. I found his quizzes tricky. Luckily he offered extra credit and I somehow ended with a B!

He posted the taped lectures online. They are amazing. I learned a lot from the posted lectures. He is clear and very helpfyul by email.

He is an awesome professor. His lectures are great and informative, but you won't do well on the homework and quizzes unless you read the chapters he's covering. He wants you to pass! He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities, drops lowest quizhomework, and has open booknote tests. He makes it almost impossible to fail his class.

Good professor. He can get boring because he literally repeats himself 3-4 times every class. But it really is impossible to fail with all the extra credit he gives. The assignmentsquizzes online can be challenging but other than that is wasnt so bad.

I took Dr. Mikhail for micro and macro economics. He was by far one of the best teachers I have ever had. He comes off tough but once you get to know him he is a great guy. If you try and show interest in his class he will definitely help you out. I definitely recommend taking his classes.

Test are a "beast"! HW assignments are not exactly what's on test, but can be taken multiple times. Don't procrastinate to complete HW. EC is the "bomb"! It gave points towards low HW points, it replaces one of lowest quizzes, and gives you points on final. He gives everyone ample opportunity to pass his class with the EC. went from D to B

Lots of note taking and reading. He expects you to read each chapter and take an online assignment for each chapter. He's an excellent teacher and knows what he's talking about. Drops lowest test grade and offers some extra credit. He likes to say that he's a flexible person. He wants you to pass the class and he'll do everything to help you.

You can also take the assignments multiple times until you get a perfect score. He wants you to participate in his class. GO TO CLASS. Make sure you have some news to tell him.

Very Straight-forward. Read the short chapters. Run through the problem demos (average 12 min per chapter) if you want the A, other wise it's still an easy "pass". 10 Question HW assignments with unlimited attempts, 2 chapters per quiz which have 20 questions. Content can be a little dry but the graphs in the book help. Recommended.

Make sure you show up to class. He gives extra credit towards every single test, all you have to do is be there and try to answer some practice problems. He also gives you an opportunity to add up to twenty points to your final exam. The class is tough, but if you really want an A, its possible.

Offers 11 HW assignments, 4 Exams (open book, open note, and Quizlet), and a few Extra Credit videos ALL ON BLACKBOARD. He also offers an extra credit research paper 5 points towards your final grade, and you have the choice to work in a group. The only downside to this class is the final being closed book and closed notes.

Very enthusiastic about what he's teaching. Not my favorite or easiest subject but i did enjoy this teacher. Gives plenty of extra credit for the final and other tests. Definitely will need to study for final since all the other tests are open book.

I would take him again given the opportunity, but not because he was easy. His lectures only cover about 1/2 of what the tests/HW are on. So have to crack open the book & read every chap. Do ALL extra credit- youll prob need it. Not an economic major so found the vocab and formulas hard. Through lots of study and extra credit, I got an A. & Show up

Easy A but you HAVE to read the textbook and utilize THAT for the homework & quizzes... not his notes. Everything except for the final is online aka at home open book which is amazing. Opportunity to receive 20+ extra points on your final. Drops/replaces a lot of quiz/hw grades too. I skipped a lot because the class is really boring.

If you miss a class you will be lost. Also he is a heavy lecturer, he really explains the book into a detail. you would have to pay close attention and ask question he will happy to explain it into deeper detail. Gives a ton of extra credit you be more than likely to get an A in the class.

Dr. Mikhail was a pleasure having as an online teacher. He responds to emails instantaneously, and is very caring. He certainly wants you to pass and understand the material. Material is difficult, but as long as you read the chapters and complete the assignments you should be set. Also, he provides tons of extra credit, which is really generous.

Took online, he makes things pretty simple, although could be more organized. He doesn't really seem to be as involved in his students as most professors, but things are simple if you pay attention to due dates.

I liked this professor very much. he had engaging lectures that included great examples of how economics works in real life. He was very kind and ready to help student understand economics. He also had a clear passion for the subject which made the class very enjoyable.

He is amazing, he doesn't give you anything you don't earn but gives plenty of opportunities for you to have an "A" in the class. He's humor took me a few weeks to get, however, once you get to know him, he is great! You will learn a lot from him since he really wants to help you understand the material. Great Professor and responds quickly if you email him. He gives tons of extra credit just do all of them and you'll get an A in the class. I did his 6 week class and it worth it. Even if you bomb the final and got all A's in his extra credit you will pass. Highly recommend taking him for Micro and Macro online.

Omg ! I was so nervous about taking this course but the comments did not lie !! I failed the final but because I did his extra credit (even if it didnt get much right) it definitely helped. Doing those extra credit definitely get you a good grade in the class also this class wasnt even on my stress list. Didnt to make time for this class. EASY!

Due the extra credit if you want an A. I can't stress that enough. took his micro and macro class in 6 weeks online and since I did the extra credit I received A's. This is my third class this semester. Mickhail is an amazing teacher and will reply back to any emails or questions. There is a lot of extra credit for the quizzes , and final exam. The assignments and quizzes are difficult, but I use quizlet to make sure my answers are correct. The ppts suck �� use the textbook instead.

I took this professor this Summer A session, and it was the best. TBH I used google for the assignments and quizzes for the exam I just studied the chapters he said. Theres a lot of extra credit and you barely do work in this class nothing to stress. Its hard not to get an A .

Mr. Samuel Mikhail is by far the best professor I have encountered at IRSC. His clear grading criteria, basic requirements, and countless extra credit assignments makes him one of the best. Economics can be tough, but in Mikhails class, you will have a huge number of resources, and he is very generous with extra credit opportunities. 100% for me!
