Sam is the best SI to ever step foot on ASU's campus. Legend has it that students from Tempe even make it our here just hear one of his jokes. Overall, Sam is a great instructor who knows how to explain ochem on a student level. The lectures are on point to what is exactly on the exams and quizzes. 5/5 Highly recommend!

Sam is 1 of the best people and SI ever! He is very helpful and would be a wonderful professor if he ever decided to teach Ochem. He understands that we are students and what we are struggling with so he tries to teach us on a level we will understand the material. Sam is the BEST tutor/SI instructor at ASU. He's caring, extremely knowledgeable of material, and overall a fantastic instructor. Sam is a much better professor than the actual chem teachers. He has a supreme knowledge of the subject AND he is great at explaining it. He's also hilarious AF. I skipped lectures and only went to his sessions because I learned a lot more and had a lot more fun. Go to ALL of Sam's SI sessions at West if you're there. Good luck!

Peoples is an amazing man. He will explain anything and everything so there is no confusion. You can find him during office hours. He does have pre-lab quizzes so prepare for those. Sometimes he throws in jokes on the quizzes and during lab! He's great! I really recommend.

The CHM 113 lab is super easy if you read the lab before hand. There are pre-lab write ups due but no lab reports. The lab packet is your "report". Peoples makes this lab super fun with his dorky puns.

Prof Peoples is the best professor ASU West has to offer, period. You could fill an ochem-sized textbook on reasons why this is true. He breaks down even the toughest reactions and never minds when students have questions in/outside of lab. On top of this he loves teaching ochem! The Aromatic KING will make ochem fun for all! I've had him for other courses as well and its mind-blowing how well he can explain just about anything within the sciences. He's got knowledge, looks and puns for days. He's tops at West for a reason. If you see him as a choice, you better enroll before his classes fill up!

He really eases you into new concepts and is very patient about helping you understand more complex problems. Open spots fly! He teaches such a variety of classes that you could just go to him for help and sometimes have better luck at understanding something from him than from most lecturers on campus.

Professor Benzene is by far my favorite! He cares about his students & is there to answer any questions we had & was easy accessible outside of class! He's well respected & inspirational. Best lab prof. ever. 11 pre-labs and post-labs, 1 lab final. Labs were easy. Patiently helped ppl w/ easy % yield and error calculations. Answered all questions. Drew chm reaction on board. Made procedure flowchart. Showed us where everything was. Made lab fun/exciting event. Taught w/ a passion. Hilarious lab videos/trailers for online transition.

He was one of my favorite professors I've had. He keep the lab lecture interesting and engaging. He made the lab videos hilarious and it helped keep your attention rather than zoning out. Each report had detailed comments on what needed tweaked for next time if there was any issues. I wish I could take him next semester.

Sam knows how to make any subject fun and easy to understand. I struggled for years to understand NMR and IR and he made it all click for me in just a few hours. It's impressive how much he knows, but even more mind-blowing how well he can explain it to others. I hope he keeps teaching because students like me need more instructors like him.

This by far the best and most informative forensics class I've taken. Sam breaks down the chemistry behind many evidence types and legit ties it back to ochem and it makes sense! His slides are easy to follow and he provides tons of review materials for homeworks and the exams. The humor and memes he add to his slides are too perfect! He was amazing for the FOR 426 lab too!

If you need to take analytical over the summer, you need to take it with Peoples. He explains things super well and draws out concepts along the way. The class itself feels a bit overwhelming at times since its accelerated, but Peoples gives you multiple attempts on the homeworks and exams and posts review materials for both. 10/10 professor!

Sam's the first professor I've had where I feel like I actually learned something. He knows how to teach and he does it better than anyone. Concepts from gen chem and o-chem finally made sense to me after all these years. Based on what I heard from students who took this class, I was afraid of analytical, but Sam made this class fun to take.

For an upper division forensics class, Peoples made it very easy to manage with a busy schedule. He responded very fast to emails and was very understanding when there were complications. The content covered many big areas in forensics and lab techniques.

Peoples is the best! Though I didn't have him for lecture, but he was always there to hold review sessions for Wagner's class. He held a 7.5 hour review session until 1:30 AM to review the practice final. He broke topics down to make it easier to understand and used meme references to get us laughing.
