This class is a bit too easy- so for everyone just looking to float along take it. However I didn't really feel like I was learning much and the classes felt like "group sessions" where you tell everyone your life story. Mr. Pierce is very very nice- I like and respect him a whole lot..flaky tho.

How did this guy ever pass a teaching exam? He is so disorganized that he will stop people in the middle of a test to explain how to take it. He basically photocopyed his quizes and then tood a big black marker and crossed out things. I thought this was college not preschool. And who needs 2 whole classes to talk about 1 statistics problem?

Very very nice guy, but definately not prepared for classes. Easy to get an A. Leaves all the time and comes back at the end of class. We just moved our desks into group circles every class period, and didn't reallt talk about anything. I didn't learn much, but he's a super nice guy so I hate to say anything bad about him.

I took this class last summer and found his teaching method to be for students that have self-discipline and self-responsibility. The students had to be responsible for reading the material outside of class. He listened, he encouraged thought provoking conversation, and tied the book work into real world situations. Very refreshing.

Not very organized. Did not hand mid term tests back until day of final. How can you study for a final when you have no idea where your weakness is? Not very organized at all. Wanted a HUGE term paper in APA format and kept saying he would explain the format and never did. Everybody guessed at what he wanted. Very disorganized!!!

Not a bad class if you don't want to be taught anything. If pointless assignments and group discussion with no real focus are your thing, this class is right up your alley. To do well in this class, stare off into space during the lectures, then read the required book chapters because the test questions don't come from the lectures

What's good about his teaching style is that he asks students' opinions and he gets everyone involved and thinking about the lesson. Sam is a genuinely nice guy and can make you chuckle even if you don't want to. He's the type of guy you wouldn't mind having a glass of brandy with while you check out live jazz. However as a professor he is rather unclear in expectations, the syllabus went right out the window, I never even opened the book, and the class was just left confused.

Grades for tests and papers were not received until after the final was taken. Teacher had no clear plan for class and sent out his powerpoint's so there was really no reason to actually show up in class. Exams were often based on material we didn't go over in class and were then graded on a massive curve.

Did not receive grades until after the final. He was all over the place with his lectures and teaching style. Exams had material that wasn't covered in class or even in the textbook for that matter. Powerpoint lectures were mainly him harassing the students for 30 minutes per slide. No point in even showing up to class.

WORST REACHER I'VE EVER HAD! Lectures are extremely unorganized. Tests always have material in them that we didn't go over in class or the book. No respect and doesn't care about his students. Constantly cancels class. He showed up 40 minutes late for our final and didn't even say sorry. Finals are over and I still only know my 1st test score.

Dr. Pierce randomly cancelled class multiple times, & was 35 minutes late to our final. 1st exam was finally graded @ week 9. Expectations were extremely unclear & 1 week after finals, still nothing in the gradebook on blackboard. He carries himself in a self righteous, arrogant, and unapproachable way. Tests don't accurately reflect class lectures

Sam was a great person, but a poor instructor. I lost track of how many times class was canceled, and our 8:30 class often started around 8:40ish. I never knew what my grade was until after finals. His lectures were fine, he always got the class involved and a lot of people got to speak. Overall he seemed caring and knowledgeable, tests were easy.

Finals were 2 weeks ago, still don't know my grade.. The course could've been really engaging & educational but class was often cancelled & lectures were simply him reading off a powerpoint. Teaching style is very indirect & unorganized, much like this rating. Not sure how to accurately rate a professor that couldn't measure up to what I hoped for.

Not a very professional teacher, was consistently late to class and also cancelled several classes last minute. Ran the class very laid back, but lectures really just consisted of him reading from slides. Test material differed from material covered in class. Also took quite a while grading assignments and was not very clear about guidelines.

Okay Sam is an okay guy but the class is not a class you should take if you are actually trying to learn anything. We had two midterms and only one of them was announced, the second was by surprise. Oh and the term paper is about anything at all and he doesn't read it. Beware, its very laid back, but not entirely in a good way.

Unfortunately, Sam is not a very good instructor. His class is very unorganized, and he tends to make up deadlines and assignments on the fly. I didn't feel like I learned much of anything, and the class mainly consisted of notes and group work. While he's a nice guy, I wouldn't recommend taking this because you likely won't learn anything. shame.

Boring class and you don't learn anything. Might as well go watch paint try on the wall for years rather than taking this class and having your eyes rot from being so boring!

He takes forever to grade things and was not a very good teacher. There was a 7 page paper I had to write and it was difficult. I do not recommend taking this professor for this subject, there are better psych teachers.

Sam Pierce knows his stuff. I took him for Abnormal Psych and absolutely loved it. Abnormal Psych is pretty much my major. He teaches the class like he would a graduate class. You gotta know your stuff. Personally, Sam is a wonderful person, very kind and understanding. Highly, highly intelligent and passionate about what he teaches.

I personally didn't purchase the book; you can borrow one from the librry fro 2 hours. His tests are kind of weird, they kind of do and kind of dont have a lot to do with the tests. Although you are allowed one page of notes for the test, the tests are a little off and ask questions we didn't discuss. He's a nice guy and everything but eh professor

In this class he showed up late many times and once canceled class with no email, just left a note on the door. I have yet to see the grade I received on my term paper or my final exam. In class he interacts with students very heavily and it is difficult to know what is correct or not because he will most likely give positive feedback.
