Despite the class is worthless, she has helped us to learn how to write a thesis paper correctly. She has also included other asignments during the semester so that our grades don't depend solely on our papers, which is good. Overall, she's good.

Dr. Barney is a wonderful teacher. She's funny, nice, and keeps you entertained in class. Her tests are slightly difficult, but not too bad.

She's very helpful if you go and talk to her, her tests are really hard.

She isn't as bad as people have said. They probably just couldn't skip everytime and pass!! She gives you study guides pretty much telling you what to study. Funny too.

Really not bad!!! anyone who complained probably skipped a lot or slept through lectures. How much easier do you want it? She gives study guides and sample essay questions. If i had to do it over, i'd take her again.

I really enjoyed having Dr. Barney for this class and I think she did a great job! I learned a lot from her and she helped me a great deal!

Dr. Barney is one of the best history teachers LHU has. She is very funny and easy to get along with. Her test are easy as long as you show up to class and pay attention.

She was really nice and funny. She kept the class interesting. Her tests killed though, I studied for all of them and went to all the classes and still got low grades. In all though, I thought it was a good class and good professor!

Dr. Barney is very interesting. If you take her you better take good notes and pay attention to details. Her tests have a lot of both A & B, all of the above type answers which makes it a little difficult. Just pay attention and don't ****her off and you'll be fine.

She knows her stuff, but she expects us to know each piece of information for the tests. Her tests are especially hard. If you go to her office she will help you, I would recommend getting a tutor for her class though.

She's a wonderful lecturer but watchout for the 1st test. You MUST take comprehensive notes, all tests are from them. I liked her class very much.

Terrific Lecturer, really knows her subject and teaches history as "Stories". Pay attention, take great, comprehensive notes. Tests are somewhat difficult, her multiple choice questions are tricky! Did well enough that I was exempt from the final.

If you aren't a history major, be prepared for probably the hardest gen ed you will ever take. All of her classes should be upper level because they are so hard. Almost no one in my class passed the first exam. She flies through the information and I really believe her intent is to make exam questions super hard & to trick us with them.

I loved Dr. Barney. I've had her for two classes and I think she's one of the best history teachers at our school. She loves what she teaches and if you do the work you shouldn't have a problem with her. And by do the work I do not mean skim read a few days before the test, but really read the chapters, ANNOTATE and pay attention you'll do fine

Quite hard, but fair and very helpful. If you dont read the material/do the work you will fail. However, if you are having troubles in the class while acually doing the work she will work with you and prevent you from failing. Just dont' complain because you didnt do the work... if you dont seem to care she wont either.

The class was challenging, so if your not willing to work then its prbly not for you. Also She is not to bad of a teacher. History happened so its not like she can make things harder than they are. Tests can be tricky if you dont have a good understanding of the material.

I enjoyed having Dr. Barney as a professor. I think she is very knowledgable about what she teaches. You have to read the text and fill in the blank spots in your notes. Take advantage of the review sheets she give you for the exams...Especially the one for the final

She's very humerous and keeps the class going. It's not a hard class, as long as you participate in discussions and go to class every day you'll be fine. All the information on the tests come from the notes you take in class. She's very nice and helpful outside of class, and she really wants her students to thrive.

She is a hard professor, but she does know what she is talking about. If you seek help outside of class, she will be willing to help you. She has a nice sense of humor, even though her jokes aren't even that funny. She talks too fast and there were plenty of times when I asked her could she repeat what she said. Go to class and take notes.

I took her class despite the comments on here. I'm glad I did. She is very knowledgeable, helpful, and has a nice, lively personality. Exams based mostly on class notes, one exam was an essay, but she let us use notes. The movies are quite boring but full of info. Just show up, lend her your ears for 50 minutes, do study, and you'll do fine.

Excellent professor, If you have to take history, take it with Dr. Barney. She makes it fun and interesting and is very fair

Prof. Barney is very intelligent and well versed in what she teaches. Whiners on here, hey, it's college, you do have to read and study! I'm an older student, working full-time and with a family and I managed an A. Pretty easy, just read, take notes, and study for the exams (gee, now is that so complicated?).

Her class was my favorite this semester. The class is challenging but extremely interesting. I learned so much in her class. Dr. Barney is always willing to answer questions and wants to see her students do well in the class.

I didn't mind her class, but you have to read a lot. She is also a biased feminist

Professor Barney is a very nice teacher. She is also very funny too. If you attend her class and take good notes you will have a decent grade.

A great lecturer who will make you think. She is a fair grader and is not too easy or too hard. Do the readings and do the assignments and try your best and you will do well. People who said she was too hard clearly didn't put in the effort.

Dr. Barney is amazing! Her class can sometimes be boring because she relies on PP slides. But if you pay attention you'll do fine. Easy exams, even the essays. She gave us answers very often, and once she gave us the answers to an entire quiz! Wonderful class. She's funny and you know she loves her job. Would take her again in a heartbeat.

make sure you go to class. she doesnt take attendence. but her power points DO NOT have all the info you need. pay attention to her side commetns

Amazing teacher. She's so nice, friendly, and funny. She tends to ramble sometimes, but if you pay attention, take notes, and are nice to her, you will pass.

Dr. Barney was my favorite professor last semester! I absolutely loved her. Her class was pretty simple, take notes from a powerpoint, but she always had funny stories to share. We did a couple of essays but we always had so much time for them. There were only 2 tests, and you have to really study hard and prepare for them to get a good grade.

Dr. Barney is the man. She's really funny and I enjoyed her class last semester. She knows what she's talking about and don't let the accent fool you. She's awesome and is willing to help anyone

Barney is an amazing teacher she maybe late sometimes but shes a mom. She is very easy to get along with and is willing to help if you need extra help. Pay attention and take notes and you will be fine.

Dr Barney is awesome. While she is late, alot its because its an 8am and she lives in state college, and has kids. her class is easy is you do the study guides for the tests. She made me want to minr in history, when im a sport admin major.

DR. Barney is awesome. Do not listen to the people who say that she is horrible. If you go to class you will get an a or a b as easy as that. She is straight up, and very interesting definitely one of the best profs. on campus.

Barney is a great professor I've learned more about history in her class than I did in four years of high school. However, you have to take really good notes and study a lot if you expect to get a good grade on any of the exams.

I love Dr. Barney! I take her every opportunity I can. She definitely plays favorites, but luckily she likes me. You definitely have to participate and show up for class. I've had her for Global 2 and History of Sex in AmericaI highly recommend that second class! Best class I ever took. She's hilarious and really cares about her students.

I could not get into this class at all. She is a really nice lady, but she just talks and talks like she doesnt even breath. I really just couldn't focus do to the huge lack of interest. Although I hear she is the easiest and most understood history professor so I do recommendoing her.

She is a very funny woman, always makes her conversations interesting, although very hard to get clear understandings of what she is saying when you aren't good with history, or have much or no background information about history. Test are hard, but she is very easy to pass this class with an average grade. She will be willing to help you!

If you go to tutoring sessions she will give you a bonus point for each time you go! If you don't like history that much and want to get a gen ed out of the way this is a good option. She is hilarious. Just be prepared for her to get off topic a lot. She only gives three tests all year.

History isn't for everyone. She gets off topic a lot, but shes very funny. Personally, i hate when the class is all lecture. Despite her being off topic she goes over what she needs to go over. Her tests are based on everything she has taught. Textbook isnt necessary unless you really like to study from it, personally tutoring did the trick every.

Dr. Barney is a fantastic professor and her class was always enjoyable. However, we only had two exams the whole semester and weren't graded on much else so if you didn't do well on those exams your grade was basically done for. If you can operate well in a high-stress testing environment and be comfortable coasting the rest of the time go for it.

Very humorous person and an easy grader but is heavy lecturer. Quizzes and assignments very simple but tests need a good amount of effort put in.

Dr. Barney is a really nice professor, she gets off topic a lot but it makes class more enjoyable. Pay attention and write down notes, they will more than likely help you. She uses all of the above as an answer choice a lot and if its there it is often correct. Her tests are easy after the first one. I didn't need to study much and still had an A.

Her teaching style isn't the most popular, not my favorite. Weekly quizzes and writing assignments are pretty simple, they are open book. Exams are pretty tough, so study and read the book. Take advantage of tutoring and study sessions.
