fair, sweet, and fun. Do not take this class is you want easy. She rocks. Now I am going to be a teacher!
Miss B was very heplful, she always made the class interesting.Take her she's awsome and a very sweet lady.Don't take her if you want an easy A.
Mrs. B was very cool. She was professional and her class was intresting. She is a tough grader though. DONT plagerize she will catch you. This isnt a blow off class. You will learn from this class. YOu watch movies and u read short stories. Overall she is pretty good. Just pay attention!
Very nice teacher. She will help you if you just ask, and she really seems to love her work.
Lit214 was a great class. She was extremely helpful and made the class alot of fun. Easy assignments and quizzes. Take this class if you want an A or B.
She is a great teacher. Extremely helpful and knows her literature. Take this class if you want an A or B. Highly recommend her for a literature class.
Everyone loved her. Some slackers in class and some loud talkers...she dealt with that well, as people say she is not a push over. Id take it again in heart beat.
Very nice and helpful ended up liking the class and i hate english. Shes not a hard teacher as long as you read the assigned readings. There are oral quizes after every reading (5 questions only).
She is RIDICULOUS! Beauchamp is very well read and articulate, but she is a spaz. She expects your world to revolve around her class. If you dont cite EVERYTHING possible, youll be marked for plagiarizing. She is quite annoying. She makes the class harder than it has to be.
hot...smart....teaches good. I want to marry her.
horrible. her standards are so high that its impossible to get an A on a paper. i emailed her multiple times with questions and she never emailed me back. if ur obsessed with english than this is ur class. if u have to take 102 and want a teacher that doesnt treat u like u should be an english major, then skip this class...
HORRIBLE...her standards are high on papers and tests hard grader no one in the class got an A on papers. i went to class every day but one did everything i was sop to do and ot a D! DO NOT TAKE HER
Ms. B is the best teacher at MVCC. I laugh at those comments that complain about her. Just check out their spelling errors. That says it all. She rocks and is very helpful. I have now had her for 3 classes and would take her again if I didn't graduate. Saying her standards are too high is like admitting you want low standards. WTF?
I don't think it would be too much to say that this teacher inspired me. She is truly professional and does her job very well. I recommend it to all students who are serious about college!
Horrible teacher. Never showed up to class. Never responds to emails or phone messages. Assigns at least 100 pages of reading for next scheduled class day. Many quizzes. Marks points off papers without an explanation. Talks to softly, its a literature class, not a history class. Many students hated her. I would not take her again. She gets snappy.
I have/had this same class as the previous poster. HOWEVER, I find Ms. B is an awesome teacher. She allows us to text her and I always got an e-mail back from her within 24 hours or less! The novels are lenghty, but I feel like I am really a college student in her class, not a baby.
I found she was extremely helpful and understanding. Although we did have alot of reading we barely had any take home written work. 5 question quizzes at the start of every class on the reading. However if you read the reading the quizzes were easy points.
She's amazing. She's extremely helpful, very intelligent and completely fair. The class is tough, but you just need to put some effort. Positive attitude, but demands her respect. I completely respect her and her teaching skills. You won't leave class without learning something new. She's very understanding and will work with you if problems arise.
She is a wonderful teacher! Very inspiring, just do the readings and try and participate and you will do great!
She knows her subject and she takes it seriously - she expects you to do the same. She assigns a few papers, but they're fairly easy to do, if you're paying attention. She teaches well and she's hot. Like another reviewer said, I'd marry her in a heartbeat.
this class is ok. it's kinda fun.
A tough teacher that makes you earn everything. You will be a better writer and better student for it. I wish I had teachers like her when I was in high school. If you want a challenge to obtain an A, take her. I got an A and will likely take her for my other COM classes.
She can be demanding at times but bet your bottom dollar that you will become a better reader and a better writer. And yes, she's hot!
OH MY GOSH!!! She was an extreme of difficult, but WOW did I learn so much in her class! She is extremely helpful and she makes it known to you that her door is always open! Dont Plagerize...She will catch you and you will have to read this section on plagerizing over and over. Take her though its worth it!
Did not like this class or teacher
I've taken two of her classes now, and although she doesn't give off the best first impression by giving you a quiz on the syllabus she is a great teacher. She knows what she's talking about and is passionate about it. Do your work, do the readings, and try hard, as a college student should, and you'll be fine.
She absolutely loves her job, and it shows. She has such passion for what she does. She will always offer help and she is very clear on what she expects from you. Nothing is ever a surprise in her class. Be sure to always read what she tells you and don't plagiarize, she always catches people and when she does you lose her trust. Pay attention.
Ms Beauchamp is a very kind hearted woman interested in making sure all of her students do well. If you need help with something she will be very welcoming. She is very good at accommodating extenuating circumstances. I would recommend her to everyone.
Film in Literature, basically read and then watch the movies based on the work. Sort of like film appreciation mixed with an English class. Midterm paper/exam, term paper/exam. Make sure to read because she will quiz you on the readings. And group project towards the end where you make your own film adaptation. Not my favorite but would take again.
Ms Beauchamp was one of the greatest teachers I took at MV. Im sick of reading ppls comments about wanting "easy A" teachers. She makes you work, but its totally worth it. If youre struggling at all she is super helpful. I learned a lot from her
She is such a great teacher. One of the best teachers at moraine. She makes you work so much but everything we discuss is so interesting. Very respectful, helpful, and kind. Its not an easy "A" blow off class but its worth it. Get used to it. Its college!
Mrs. Beauchamp is an excellent instructor. My experience is that she is very helpful and presents crystal clear directions and expectations. I took the condensed version on-line last summer. Yes, there's a good deal of reading/writing, but come on it's a lit class!
Do not take this class unless you are prepared for the extensive amount of work involved. There is an incredible amount of reading and writing involved. However, you will learn a great deal on how to interpret short stories and poems, your writing will greatly improve, and you will forge a greater sense of appreciation for English.
extremely nice and understanding and takes her time to teach. learned a lot about critical thinking. be prepared to do a lot of group activities. highly recommend.
DO NOT take this class unless you LOVE to read and write about any specific topic given to you. SHE GIVES A BUNCH OF WORK she is NOT lenient with grading, and she's probably the only Com teacher that gives quizzes. I heard many other Com classes are fun with other teachers. SHE THINKS THATS YOUR ONLY CLASS IN THE SCHEDULE I PROMISE ull regret it!!!
One of the best teachers at Moraine. She wants her students to do well--and that's no secret. People who want to have "fun" and learn absolutely nothing and waste their money should take another class.
We took frequent confusing quizzes, there was about 30 pages of reading assigned a night, she gave us a midterm and final exam, and she is NOT a lenient grader. If your anything but an English major I am saving your life by telling you don't take her class. It was boring with too much work. I busted my butt and barely got a B.
She is a very charismatic instructor. There are some readings due for the quizzes that are given on the following class day, but usually its in between a few pages (people exaggerate). The paper topics pertain to most of the readings, & her lectures are very interesting and helpful. I really enjoyed her class, along with the curriculum. She's great
I could have taken this class with any other teacher and got an A but these ratings fooled me. Yes she is a great person but she assigns too much. If you're not an English major this is definitely NOT the class for you. And the hotness ratings are probably from years ago she's old now and don't let that be part of your decision for any teacher btw.
This teacher takes it personally when you leave class early or are absent even tho u simply might be sick. She makes you sound dumb when you ask her a question. She takes her job WAY too seriously. Acts like it's the only class you're taking. Too many handouts and is just overall not a fun class with her. I loved English before I took this class.
She's so smart and so helpful. If you want to learn how to write, take her class. If you want to be lazy and complain how hard she is, don't bother. If she grades you hard it's because your writing sucks, yo.
I took Beauchamp for two classes, Lit 220, and Lit 214. She was tough, but an amazing teacher. Neither class was easy, you need to put in work, but it's worth it in the end. I was out with pneumonia and she was so accommodating and understanding. She responds quickly to emails and offers help when needed. Wonderful teacher!
I really enjoy her class. There's a lot of reading, but they are really short, however, the final reading assignment was 46 pages long, and got it right just by watching the play instead of reading the whole thing. Also, you need to do 1 group presentation. Overall, the class was interesting and she let you choose your own topics.
She makes you work for your grade, but she is a very good teacher. The classes were entertaining and she makes sure you understand the material 100%. The tests were difficult, but she is there for you if you have any questions. I would definitely recommend her as long as you are willing to put in some effort.
Professor Beauchamp is a great instructor. She is not only a good teacher but she is very nice and helpful but this class is not an easy A. you have to take the work and essays seriously but that goes for every class expectation. theres no reason you should not pass. just don't slack off and you'll be fine
She always emails me back with clear cut answers and very understanding as well as respectable. One of the nicest teachers I have ever had
She always emails back and shes so passionate about her job. her class is really interactive so if you prefer a class thats just lecture then this isnt the class for you but she gives a lot a reading hw every week which usually leads to a small quiz. I think she is a fine teacher!
I took he for two semesters and she was wonderful! You will have to read quite a bit but it isn't that bad. Honestly, if you're taking a COM class reading should just be expected. Her assignments are fair and she is a very understanding woman. Don't be afraid to talk to her because she can help you quite a bit. I definitely recommend her.
She is so great and sweet. The class is really easy and not boring at all. She is really understanding and actually cares about your grade. I took her for Com 101 and got an A. The best Com teacher, no doubt.
She can be tough grading sometimes, but is always ready to help you improve. She's very sweet and her lectures are very easy to understand. The readings she chooses are really good, and she does give quizzes on them, so actually read them. She is a little strict with policies, but overall a very understanding person. Also there is a group project.
I love Sandra!! She's one of the best!! She will do anything to work with you and make sure you know what needs to be done and what she expects from you. She does a lot of group work. Attendance is mandatory, but her lectures aren't horrible to sit through. I would seriously recommend her!! Super flexible woman to work with.
I'm actually wondering how there are students who actually say good things about this professor. She's very strict in everything. If you're not in an english major, you're going to fail this class. I could've taken this class with any other teacher and acheived an A, but I was only at a D and withdrew. I would NEVER recommend her to anyone!
It is clear that this professor wants her students to succeed and I have learned so much from her in just one sem. As a returning student, I was nervous. She makes me love coming to class. She is challenging but fair and passionate about her job.
She's an amazing professor, she's very passionate about her job and also wants all her students to succeed. I would definitely retake her if i could. Attendance is mandatory but the class is still easy. A lot of group work as well half the reason why i liked her so much.
I do not like any teacher give me a syllabus test. she will give you a syllabus test And then giving you midterm and final exam with a lot of details about literature. I couldn't improve my writing skill with her class because I have to deal with many ridiculous things in her class. I do not hate her but I do not recommend you take her class.
Some weeks have a lot of work and not much time to get it done. Some weeks are interesting and engaging. The instructor is caring and involved. It is best to have an interest in this subject in order to do well.
Her online class was EXTREMELY organized; she always answered with a few hours and answered the question directly and thoroughly. She's encouraging, understanding, and extremely sweet. As long as you approach the material in the class like a college student should, you should do very well in the class. I STRONGLY recommend her.
Some of these reviews had me so nervous. I went in expecting Ms. Beauchamp to be difficult, overly demanding, and strict. But that is NOT the case at all. She was one of the most encouraging, soft-spoken, and friendly instructors I've had. It isn't a struggle to get an A in her class. And if it is, she is always offering to help you out.
The class is a lot of work however shes a really good professor. Clear and understandable explaination. If you actually pay attention she gives a lot of good tips to help your writing. Shes also very understanding when it comes to sickness/absence etc. Shes a super sweet lady.
She is a very sweet and kind teacher. She is very understanding and gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit and more points. She does make you work for an A but as long as you hand in your assignments, read assigned pages and such, you will be more than okay! I really liked my experience as her student!
Sandra is an amazing professor! She really does care about the success of her students, its clear in her advocacy for them. I dont quite understand people complaining about writing assignments in a com class... she gives a fair amount of work for what the class is and is clear in her grading. If you pay attention to lectures, youre golden.
Mrs. Beauchamp is very passionate about her job. In its nature COM 102 is challenging and quite a bit of work but she offers thorough guidance and feedback, as well extra credit near the end of the semester.
Easy to reach by email. Soft-spoken and sweet.
I have taken Mrs. B three times and had to drop the previous times due to personal matters. I can tell you that Mrs. B is an extremely compassionate instructor. She makes you work for your grade and has high standards, but if you put in the effort, you will get so much out of her class. I definitely saw my writing skills improve.
I'm currently enrolled in her LIT 220 online class. She is great in going out of her way to help you and always replies to emails ASAP. Intro to Fiction has a lot of reading , but is expected. Her class is worth it.
Easy grader. Extremely caring, always takes time to help in any way. Offers extra credit opportunities. Although at times, she talks too much.
She is a fair grader, gives good constructive criticism when needed, and very understanding. Although she is soft spoken, she does stick to the syllabus guidelines so there is no time for clowning around in her class and she makes that known on day one. If you want to be inspired by film and literature, take her!
I really enjoyed the class time I had with her. The overall environment was really calm and quiet and it felt more like a chance to relax during my day. Some of the essays were difficult but she made sure we had lots of preparation and time to do them. She is definitely soft-spoken and very caring for her students. Take her!
I currently have Mrs. B for my Lit 214 and Com 102 class, she is one of the most caring teachers I've ever had. She assigns readings every class but most of them are short stories or poems so its not bad. She provides several extra credit opportunities near the end of the semester and gives plenty of time and resources to help with your papers.
Tons of group work, so if you hate working with other people don't take her. Other than that she is a great professor that gives thoughtful feedback to submitted work. You must keep up with weekly readings that she assigns (this can be a lot) in order to be successful. You can't bs a good grade in this class.
I took this class online so unfortunately I never got to meet her, but she was always very attentive to any emails I sent and questions I had. The material was easy and as long as you answered discussion posts thoughtfully, you would get full points. Looking forward to taking a class with her again!
I recommend taking her for com102. Shes very sweet and replies to emails quickly, and tries to help you in anything. Some discussion boards, quizzes, and 3 essays. Not too much work, very manageable and not too hard.
I had Professor Beauchamp for COM102 in person and LIT213 online. She is an extremely intelligent, well respected professor who genuinely wants her students to succeed. I'm not gonna say it's an easy A as you do have to work for it, but it's nothing crazy and she provides amazing, clear feedback on your work.
Prof B was great totally there for your questions and concerns understanding to circumstances and will to help you succeed if you use her as a resource! First English class with online learning and she made it bearable.
Prof B is very sweet & wants you to do well. she answers any questions you may have & gives good feedback on essays, which were the most time-consuming & difficult part, but she's super helpful! there's weekly readings but not too long (depending on the unit) & some quizzes but they were easy if you read what was assigned! overall not much homework
My biggest issue with the online class was that the modules and assignments would not be posted on time. It was good that she is easy to reach because you can mainly send her a reminder to post the instructions. Most of the reading assignments can be found online or in the school's library.
I took COM-102 last Spring with Professor Beauchamp. She is an amazing professor and gives fantastic feedback. She may accidentally not post an assignment but when emailed about it she gets back within a few hours and once gave us an extension. I would definitely have her as a professor again and wish she taught COM-103. Incredibly fair grader.
Great teacher, respond to in class discussions almost no one in my class did and it slowed down the pace of her lectures. Great feedback and she is very lenient if you mess up to try and correct your mistakes. Makes you think and creates very heavy, insightful, and fun discussions!
an amazing kind teacher. she really cares and is super understanding. she does not give pop quizzes. i really enjoyed taking her class.
Very sweet professor, very boring class. There's no paper examples of the essays you'll do in class so if you're used to seeing examples from classes before, don't take her. She'll say a book is mandatory, dont buy it. i've never touched it at all, I regret buying it. A lot of reading but I honestly only read the stories that she'll quiz us on.
LIT214 has taught me so much about literature but also history and how connected everything is. She gives great feedback. I have enrolled in another class with her for the summer!
I never write reviews for these because they are very subjective, but Professor Beauchamp's ratings are very misleading. Maybe she is better in person, but her online class sucks. Her canvas is extremely unorganized, her directions for assignments are unclear, and she does not provide any feedback after grading. She also takes days to respond.
Mrs. Beauchamp is a very sweet professor. As long as you read the stories and poems assigned for you, you'll do great in this course. There is a textbook that is mandatory, but I've found that it doesn't have too much of an impact. Major essays are assigned throughout the semester and she gives tons of pointers and feedback to ensure it rocks.
teacher gives good feedback but I would not take her online again. class lacked any actual learning, lots of reading assignments but doesn't cover a lot of mla or secondary sources but then requires that for her writing.teacher is sweet but her online is rough.
The best teacher I've ever had. She's not great at technology, so take it in person. AMAZING readings, AMAZING feedback, and SUCH a fair grader. Taking her lit class next semester because of how amazing she is. As long as you do the reading and know how to write an essay, you'll do great. I'm really going to miss the class. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN!
Professor Beauchamp is a wonderful lady. She is so caring and soft-spoken. She is so knowledgable too. She is kind of a tough grader, but gives amazing feedback. All of the readings are well-chosen, and she teaches very well. The class isn't too hard. If you take it in person, she likes lots of group work so be prepared.
Very sweet and caring professor and she really cares for the students. She is extremely organized and is very accessible in and out of class. Her essays are very topic flexible and tries to help her students the best she can, and that adds on to her amazing personality. She also gives the best feedback out of any teacher I've ever had.
This is my 2nd class with her, taking another in the Fall. Genuinely the most amazing teacher ever- so many movies, short fiction, poetry, and documentaries she shares with the class. SO amazing. I aspire to be her one day. You will NOT regret it- take her! Shes literally so adorable.
I mean wow. I hate English, but she was so inspiring and helpful I would take this exact class over and over again. She goes wayyyy out of her way to teach and if you literally just read one short story a week and do the quizzes on them, you'll be fine. Midterm had everything the study guide said it would, she's sooooo sweet.
I took this class in person. I loved her. She was so sweet and understanding. She's so inspirational and I usually hate English. Gives feedback on every little thing. There's films in class, she tells you EXACTLY what's gonna be on the midterms and final. Honestly the midterms and finals are what boosted everyone's grades. Short stories are cute.
There is a good amount of little short stories to read, but it is definitely worth it considering how easy the rest of the class is. Professor is so sweet and does not overwhelm us, will give extensions if class needs it. Not a tough grader. Best english class I have taken. Midterm is exactly like study guide. Work days in class for essays.
Amazing human being. Read the stories she assigns, they'll change your life. Sonny's Blues especially. the best ratings here are all true. only complaint: my peer review partner let AI write her whole essay, fake quotes and everything. put the effort in in this class and not only will you succeed, but you'll also find that you're enjoying yourself.
