Not an idiot!! Helpful, knowlegdable, a bit confusing, tricky tests tho.
Not an easy class. We do homework, she goes over, then test
Homework is busy work. Not too hard but not fun at all.
definitely not a super easy class but as long as you study you will do ok
enjoy teaching yourself accounting if you take her

tons of homework, tests are super hard and worth entirely too much
didnt do much but managed a good grade.test hard but class work makes up

shut up bitter asses-do the work, go 2 class or find some1 that does-u'll B fine
she has a really nice personality, but the material is extremely boring.
great teacher, makes it clear and fun to learn...if you can, take her class
as a person she's awesome, but she's not very good at explaining/teaching
She gives too much work, doesn't explain it, makes mistakes all the time, grades unfairly, and expects that everyone is a computer technician. Even though it is an accounting class. Awful. Avoid at all costs.

so unorganized. does not know what is going on. way too heavy of a workload.
Way too much workload. Vauge instructions and grading is WAY off. Needless groupwork.
More hw than all other sections combined. Not too great at explaining.
For a 1 credit course, way too much work. Expect to spend a lot of time on the take-home tests and the project. Collects review assignments too. Tough grader.
Good and helpful, But too hard. Too much workload. Does not take into consideration that students have other tough classes to deal with aswell. She is great if she reduces workload and do easier grading.
Too Hard! Too much work load..Too bad she's the only one teaching this class :(

makes you work but you learn something
Very Helpful and willing to give you extrea credit. If you read the material you'll do well in her class
Unorganized. We spent half of the classese waiting for her to figure things out. 5-evals worth 50pts.each and some in class tutorials. She is nice, but clueless. Make sure to have good documentation pages. Only meet twice a week. Grin and bear it.
Nice lady and knows what shes doin, good amount of quizes and tests are fairly difficult, overall pretty fair and not bad if its a must you take this course
Great Teacher - takes a huge interest in her students. Lots of work - but you will learn something!
Great teacher. Talks a little fast and pronounces words a little different than taught in English class, but other than that is strongly recommended.
Great Teacher

take someone else guys, very confusing, changes assigments all the time, unorganized, this class did not help me at all
Prof. Cereola was a fabulous teacher. If you go to class and pay attention, you'll do well.
Sometimes a little unclear. Overall a good professor.
grades pretty hard...watch your reference pages in 301. 313 is just no fun however you look at it
All I know is that she is HOTTTTTTT
Prof. Cereola is a great teacher. She is tough but fair and forgiving sometimes. She does a great job in class.
Prof. Cereola is a great teacher. Her class is tough, but she's very willing to help. I liked her so much for 241 that I am taking her for 242. Take her if you get the chance.
I found this class a little challenging but Prof. Cereola tries to help you as much as possible...offers extra credit and help when needed. Tries to make class interesting and is very personable.
Overall a nice prof but DEF picks out favorites -if youre not one dont count on doing well in this class. Attendance every day & tests are killer; today after handing back a quiz that most of the class got 4/10 or 2/10 she said "that was an atrocious quiz im glad i didnt have to take it!" have fun
2 exams that can be tricky but, if you do the HW, you should do fine. Average as far as teaching goes, nothing special. Quizzes help and she gives fair amount of e/c.
the material can be difficult, but prof. cereola is one to get. very helpful, and fair with grades. i'm taking her for 242
Cereola is helpful, funny and very nice. She is also ,as all of the male population would agree, very HOTT!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, not so hot...nice, not too hard, but favors accounting majors, and the male athletes, enough said. One of the better accounting profs i assume
Does she even teach the class....Not at all. She Blows.
She was great for 241, but she doesn't teach for 242. She just hands out worksheets and expects you to know how to do it.
she doesnt teach, just hands out worksheets and she stinks at office hours. you teach yourself accounting in this class
She is absolutely worthless. Her lectures consist of handing out a couple of worksheets and discussing her family when nobody cares. Shes loud, obnoxious, and a terrible teacher...
Sounds like a lot of you have "grade" issues. Grow up - stop whinning & maybe you will then get a job. Do the work and you will do fine in this class.
Disappointing. Class simply consists of her passing out worksheets with her focusing on a select few. Take my word and DO NOT go with this teacher...your view of accounting will become twisted and distorted. *Sound of toilet flushing*
She's such a sweetheart and very sociable... She's a very good teacher and her class is so easy. Way too many extra points and her tests are straight forward.. it sucks that she's leaving JMU after this summer session though
Look a few back. Not from Prof C but a senior who recently graduated and knows better now that I am working.
straight up...she doesnt teach. Shes very nice to look at though. Passing out worksheets and then helping each kid individually is entirely too inefficent. She needs to go get her Masters in "learning how to do" not accounting. But shes still hot so take her
I don't know where people get off saying she doesn't know how to teach. I love her. She explains everything well, makes sure people understand what's going on, and her tests cover exactly what she covers. I thought it was a great class. I only wish I could have had her for 241 too.
Loved her...she works with the students so they understand the material. I'm just sorry she is leaving JMU!!
Great teacher - she really wants to work with her students. Take her if you can.
Take her she's great
terrible woman, lazy and doesnt care if you fail. gave little help and didnt know how to teach, gave handouts to do everyday and expected you to teach yourself.

Good professor.. Easy to me, but I'm an accounting major. Average test scores for Exam 1 were higher than any other professor's class. TAKE HER
Shes a good prof. She goes at somewhat of a fast pace but she explains things really well. The exams are somme of the easiest out of all of the 241 teachers.
Great teacher, thorough, loves her job...take her!
helpful
This class ended up being way harder than I thought. This is just one of those courses you get or you don't, so if you don't be sure to ask for help because she is willing to help. The problem is that many people have problems with this class, so availability is an issue at times.
Get ready to teach yourself! She taught the class like most people were taking it for the second time. I wasn't one of them. If you have a question, she acts as if the answer is obvious. Online tests and quizzes, but they're not easier. Takes attendance, homework isn't graded, all you do are demo problems and she moves FAST so keep up or drop it.
Covers way too much material in too short a time. Often gets confused in class when trying to explain things and then gets everyone else confused. Gives conflicting information out about nearly everything in class. Most frustrating experience I've had at JMU.
Presents a less than professional approach to teaching. Class is mostly self taught and large load of busy work. Uses publisher material for all homework, quizes, test, projects, etc... Recommend finding another professor that actually wants to teach.
Flies through the material as fast as possible, she does not teach, just reads premade slides. Ridiculous amount of work (15+ hrs a week) for a MBA class full of working professionals. Rude to those who ask questions.
This was the most outright, difficult course one could imagine. You can't cram a 16 chapter course book into 8 weeks, but yet, she seems to think it is possible. JMU needs to seriously consider telling her to ease up on course load.
Difficult class. She will help if you go to office hours but prepare to be ridiculed for not understanding. There is an abnormal amount and she will call you out in class if you are behind. Do the online text book problems because that is where all of the test questions are from.
This is not an easy class. I think Dr. C means well, but she tries to teach too much in too short of a time to non-accounting majors. She is definitely passionate about the subject though, which is always good.
Pretty much knew absolutely nothing about cost accounting. constantly confuses herself when trying to explain a problem. I honestly believe she has never read the textbook. If forced to take her, be sure to take a later class section. She realizes all of her mistakes as the day goes on and only the last class of the day gets any benefit from class.
She completely contradicts herself while teaching. She doesn't really explain how to go through problems, she just hands you a problem and walks around telling you if you got the answer right. The textbook is not good so really you have no strong way of learning the material.
Fun&makes the information bearable. SO helpful in office hours&definitely helps the students who take the initiative to go for help.No attendance policy, but I wouldn?t miss a day. 2 departmental exams,3 Thursday night exams, several quizzes, daily online homework.Probably the easiest teacher to take for COB242.Friday classes are cancelled after test
Great Professor. Tough class.
This was a difficult class; there was an expectation that students were well grounded in accounting. Dr. C did not prepare students well for the tests, and although she was willing to meet with students, she did not explain concepts in the most understandable way. She is very knowledgeable and means well, but overall it was not an enjoyable class.
You won't appreciate Dr. C's organization until after the class, then you'll realize her organization helped you stay on track.Keep the practice exercises, study them and know how they work. Do all the exercises assigned because you can use them to study. This class is hard but was also one of my favorites. Dr. C does a great job.
Good class; maybe most important to the program as the concepts will be used throughout students' professional careers. The rigor is that of a true graduate level program elsewhere. Do all work, and attend all classes as even excused absences are counted against in the final grade.
Professor Cereola is really helpful in class and is clear on what will be on every exam. She's definitely one of the better accounting professors at JMU, she makes it bearable. If you're having trouble her office hours are really helpful.
Such a sweetheart. For accounting she's one of the best you can have. The subject itself isn't super easy so it's not all her fault. Tests are somewhat difficult and she likes to make short answer portion detailed. Prepares you so well for the final, got a B on it but with a little more studying could've easily gotten an A.
Solid teacher, presents the material in an easy to understand way and gives a lot of handouts to help explain everything. Class was pretty laid back, no attendance policy. Lots of connect homework, at least one assignment due every day of class. Tests are hard, 2hrs at night, but if you study there not that bad. Prepares for final really well.
Dr. Cereola is the best. Do the Connect homework and go to class and you will learn a lot. Utilize her office hours to the fullest extent as she is very personable and knowledgeable. She makes accounting enjoyable.
Hard class no matter who you take. She is a very good teacher, 3 tests and a final is basically your whole grade. Daily online homework assignments that are pretty helpful. Mostly teaches computations rather than concepts
Cost Accounting is a difficult class and boring topic regardless of professor. Dr. Cereola does a great job of covering the important concepts. You will need to study heavily on your own and practice many problems until you understand the material. Tests are moderately difficult, frequent online quizzes, hw, and videos to watch.
You basically have to teach yourself the information to get a good grade. Her tests are impossible compared to the way she "teaches" class. Lectures are very confusing as she flies by the material and doesn't give students time to ask any questions. Textbook sucked and I only opened it for the homework. Good luck.
Content is incredibly tough; for those thinking this is going to be like COB242 be prepared to be shook. Yet, she makes it bearable. She genuinely cares for her students and sure, the tests are tough as hell, but she's at least encouraging and helpful when you need it. A great professor for some truly challenging content.
What else needs to be said about Dr. C, everyone knows she's awesome and has a great body. Cost is an easy B hard A class.
Cereola might be the worst professor Ive ever had. She just reads textbook generated powerpoints all class and buying the book was pointless. She gives us practice problems and then posts then answers online WITHOUT any work. Tests are on things that we have never learned, and didn't even bother to tell us we had a cheat sheet for our final exam
quizzes & practice problems aren't like her exams. splits exams into 2 parts- free response one day & mc in ashby another day. teaches 100 miles a min so you basically teach yourself. gives a quiz every 2 classes on a new chapter that have 1-3 questions on it. believes that class avg of C is "better" than previous semesters.
Probably one of the most unreasonable professors I've ever had. The material is not terribly difficult but her tests are an awful representation of how well you know the material. Many of the conceptual questions can be though in two ways and since the tests are taken in Ashby lab, she is not there to clarify. Always cancels office hours too.
You might as well take the class online because it would be the same level of teaching. She gives a quiz on every chapter, sometimes 1 question so you either get a 0% or 100% then will say "Guys its just a quiz grade". 4 Test which is technically 8 because there's in class short answer & 25 in Ashby. Confusing questions & she isn't there to clarify
Just don't take her. She acts like she's the best professor, but she's mean. I asked her a question once, and she made me feel like a complete idiot in front of the entire class. If you do take her, just go to class, read the textbook and you'll be fine. Don't bother going to office hours, she's not helpful
242 is supposed to be the "easier accounting" but she made this class harder than it needed to be. As a student who never skipped class& aced her 1-2 questionquizzes, I managed to not do well on the exams. The exams are not representative what you know. I know students in different 242 classes who knew half the material I did and had better grades.
Professor Cereola is a solid Accounting professor. She knows what shes talking about and is always available if you need help. For 242, she gave a lot of quizzes and split tests into 2 parts (70% multiple choice, 30% problems).
You will work - but you will learn tons. Shes great.
Very nice and funny woman. She's very willing to help out in office hours. She gives very helpful resources, test practice, and lecture outlines which is nice. The material is kinda tough and the tests and final are hard so don't slack off. She gives two test days, one multiple choice and one long problems. She's not the worst.
Dr. C is a good choice for 242. The tests are hard, but not impossible with the right approach. She's very knowledgeable and funny, but can sometimes come off as abrasive if you ask for help. Frequent quizzes which suck, but are necessary to keep you engaged. She will often let you work on them in groups.
Cereola is a great professor! She really knows her stuff and teaches it clearly. Only thing to be cognizant of is that there is a lot of material, so she runs through it very quickly; be prepared to lock in concepts outside of class. Lectures are based off of fill-in packets. Practice with the supp. packets!! 5-10 quizzes, 5 Tests, and 1 Dpt. Final
She's such a passionate professor and actually cares that you learn and are successful in her class. Quizzes usually start as independent but then she lets you talk with people around you so they end up being group quizzes. Theres 5 tests not including the final but it's nice because it gives you the chance to mess up one and come back from it
Best accounting professor Ive ever had! Really cares for her students and wants them to succeed in her class. Exams can be challenging but she prepares you well for them so there are no real surprises during them. If you have the option to take her, do it!
Class was very difficult and her entire class was heavily weighed on exams and nothing else. I did every homework and quiz assignment on time, and it gave slim to nothing to my grade. I would recommend finding a different professor to take, she is not sympathetic towards hard work and effort.
I would not recommend anybody take a course with this professor. She has no sympathy to students who may not understand the material. I usually am a student who learns well by put together lectures. I had to teach myself the entire course from the textbook because she did not do an exceptional job.
