First test, half the students failed, she expected that. She tests mainly off of her lectures, so you need to go to class and write down what she says. The tests are difficult but she has papers required, just ask her how she wants them done and do it.

REALLY good teacher and really enjoyed the class. take good notes and you'll pull a B. if you want an A study very hard for the tests (can be fairly challenging) from your notes and you'll do fine. She does like to throw in 2-3 questions from vocab words that were not in the notes.

Tests are extremely frustrating bc of her wording. Easy to make a B if you do all of your homework, extra credit points, and don't fail all of the tests. The final was essentially taken off word for word from previous 3 tests. But the tests were unbelievably annoying unless you're into studying weeks in advance to elaborately understand in detail.

Super helpful when asking her questions. take lots of notes on what she SAYS and NOT whats on the powerpoints. She emphasizes those on the tests. Powerpoints are more like outlines/guidelines. Go to SI sessions too. Those help alot.

good teacher, i guess. you have to go to class to get any concept of what is being taught. the book and online chapter tests will not cut it, study wise, for her tests. half of the questions on her tests will seem familiar but the other half you have no idea where they came from. class is pretty boring but it just depends on how motivated you are.

Dr. Kelly is really nice but strict. MyPsychLabs are very important and must be finished on time. She posts her notes online, but I HIGHLY recommend attending class. Lessons she teaches in class are on the test and not in the notes. She have 5 points extra credit which is really nice. And her stories are entertaining.

She's pretty funny and interesting. She posts her slides online, but you have to attend class to know what she's talking about. Tests weren't bad at all. Keep up with MyPsychLabs, extra credits & the reading and you'll def make an A.

Really passionate about her subject but very difficult class. Only take if other class loads are easy. Tests were very difficult, memorizing the material only got you so far.

Do not take this class. She lets the TA grade the tests who is never at class and you send your papers off to professional graders. The tests are hard and memorizing information doesn't get you far.

I have never had a professor whom I disliked this much! I was always interested in Psychology while in High school and took this class for fun. Unfortunately, this class killed my GPA and I am an A student but her exams are CRAZY hard and for a 101 class she just expects too much of her students! Don't take her if you have another choice.

She seems really nice, but her tests are so hard. You walk out thinking you did well, but when you see the test again after the TA grades it, you realize you were wrong. The way she takes attendance is ridiculous--too much room for error, marks you absent on accident and no way of proving you were actually present. Just too much for a 101 class.

I am a good student and found this harder than my chemistry or bio courses. There is an opportunity to get 5% on final grade which I definitely relied on. The TA almost always grades incorrectly, always talk to Kelly after you get your grade for points back. I once wrote an entire page and got 0/10 on an essay, when it was RIGHT

If it is a required class there is only one teacher who offers it. Good luck. Study more than all of your other courses combined. I was interested in the course before and now I am staying away from neuroscience courses at USC forever.

I am staying away from neuroscience courses at USC forever. Dreaded going to class because the pace was too fast and info too condensed. It was not about learning but stuffing and cramming information. I do not recommend.

If you see another teacher offering a class I would recommend it. At first she seems really cool and then when it's too late to drop the class you wish you had. She is not one of those professors I would recommend for any class.

She is so mean. Will be extremely rude to you. I came into this class looking forward to learning, and I expected an easier workload since it is a 101 level class. I spent over 8 hours a week getting a B in the class. The tests are impossible, and she is extremely unhelpful. DO NOT TAKE HER. Attendance is mandatory and she makes a seating chart.

Very tough if you aren't super interested in the subject. Tests do not make sense and every short answer or essay question must be exactly correct for credit. Hardest class that I have taken, yet should be an easy one since it is a 101. This is mainly due to how tough her grading is. I don't recommend taking this course with her unless it is a must

DO NOT HAVE HER AS A TEACHER! She is horrible and her test are impossible and pretty much set you up to fail. Have spent around 10 hours just studying for one of her exams and made a 73 on it. Hardest and worse teacher you could ever imagine.

Great teacher, but you do have to put the time in to study and really learn the material. She also goes over the types of questions that might be on the test. Very clear when she talks over the material and puts the powerpoints on blackboard a few weeks ahead of time.

It's a large class that is based off of powerpoint lectures. She talks the whole time, but does put the lectures online for review. Expect to read the textbook too. Problem is, you think you know the material and then you get the test. The questions are worded to confuse you. Possible 60 essay questions, chooses 3. Study, study, study.

Dr. Kelly is a great psychology teacher, but be prepared to work to actually earn your grade. It is not impossible to pass this class if you actually study and take the time to learn the material. She relates the material to actual life situations and makes the material interesting. If you go to all of her lectures and pay attention you will pass.

One of the hardest courses I've had. But if was so interesting!! The content made it worth it. Record her lectures or else you'll miss A TON (seriously, do it). And she never makes you feel stupid for asking questions.
