she is an not a good professor and doesn't care about her students. Passionate about marketing, but she is not a good prof. If you're a business major, you have to take her class, but good luck with it

Don't listen to what people have to say about this class prior to Fall 2017. Lampo made this class a lot harder by having to take tests in person. Almost everyone I know is getting a B.

No no no. This class is much harder now than it used to be. Tests are a lot of random facts and most of your grade comes from a group project that takes a hefty amount of time. I wish I could say not to take it, but it's required, so good luck.

Oh where do I start? The format of this class changed in Fall 2017, so don't read before then. Lampo is a sweet, clueless lady with no real world experience. She teaches her class like it's Kindergarten. Very slowly and often condescendingly. Her tests are impossible. They draw from obscure things she said in class, and in the book. No curve. Ever

She recently switched from online tests to stop cheating but kept the same type of tests so they were extremely hard and specific. Group projects were graded very harshly even doing everything asked of you would not get you an A on them. Listen to lecturers she will ask questions over examples she spends very little time on.

In class exams were difficult and she made no effort to account for the switch from online to in-class examinations. I did well in every other aspect of the class and did fine on most exams but still ended up with a lower grade than I was expecting because she also doesn't curve. Not a fan.

Appears to be a helpful resource to students but is extremely rude when you have questions about grades. She purely relies on TA's to grade while they all are different. Some students get lucky and get easy graders on presentations. Lampo is extremely hard to work with grades. If you have a 89.9 or 79.9 she does not care it is a B, C.

Not good professor at all. Wont curve any grade even if you get a 89.99. Choose your TA carefully because some grade way harder than others on group projects, which are in no case graded fairly throughout the entire course . I studied more for her mid-terms than I normally study for finals in other classes because the tests are so ridiculous.

Im a marketing major and she made me hate this class. The work load isnt worth a 3 credit class. She is so nit picky about everything and I learned nothing from her lectures I had to read the book. She tests on random examples in class. Its graded rather unfairly and when you ask a question about your grades she makes you feel stupid.

This professor is stuck up and condescending. She teaches her class like we are toddlers and then goes off and makes her tests ridiculously hard just because people got caught cheating a year ago. She acts like she cares but really shes just trying to get students to get into marketing. 1/10 THE WORST.

The amount of work you have to do for this 3 hour credit is absurd. Lampo is incredibly condescending during her lectures, which you must attend because she writes a third of each exam based on obscure details she typically spends less than a minute on in class. The group project is likely one of the worst things you'll ever have to do in Mays.

MKTG 321 is two classes in 1, lecture MW and then group project meeting Fri. The group project should be the entire class, you learn way more about marketing from the project & it takes up enough time to be a full class. Only reason to go to lecture is she test on obscure class examples. Can honestly say I did not learn 1 thing in lecture.

Lampo's exams are crazy specific. Even though attendance isn't *technically* mandatory for regular lecture, you will not do well if you do not attend. An intro to marketing class should be a pretty intuitive subject, but Lampo seems to want to make it far more complicated than necessary. Even studying a week in advance, I still made a C on the exam

please do yourself a favor and DONT TAKE HER (she's the only mktg prof so you'll have to take her for now). she sucks but she's a TERRIBLE PROFESSOR. Dont expect fair exams. She will bring up the most arbitrary details from lecture and expect you to remember what color shirt the guest speaker wore 3 weeks ago. Annoying voice and critical to any feedback. Avoid if you can

She basically asks you random stuff from her book and lectures, and since she made the book, the tests aren't that bad, but you have to read a lot and be prepared for them.

She does not even teach the class. It is taught by her TA's. She took down her lectures for everyone who needed to take a makeup exam (Excused absences) so I took the test without her lectures where she asked for quotes from her lecture videos. No accommodation and seems like she doesn't want to deal with students.

She is a great person, but this class is ridiculous. She doesn't want her students to pass and believes that this is the only class you are taking during the semester. If you do, what you are asked, you get an 85, so you need to slave away just to get an A. Additionally, lots of group work and if you don't get a good group, you're done. Exams bad.

This professor thinks that her class is more important than it is. She wants everyone to know how smart she is and how much she loves marketing. If you don't read the textbook in this class, the highest grade you will get is a C. Overall, this class and professor are really bad.

MKTG 321 has an unnecessary amount of requirements. Tests are not hard, but super specific, so be prepared to read. I'm giving a 1 due to the excessive amount of work required for each assignment/test while still trying to balance out other classes. The essay requires so much, but is worth so little. The syllabus/grade scale is also confusing.

You have a lot of important assignments that you have to put a lot of effort and time into that aren't worth a lot towards your grade. The tests are hard and count for most of your grade. This class takes up a lot of your time.

Im not sure if it is the weights of the overall grading, the structure of the class, or trying to make the tests overly specific and objective when real world MKTG is not, that made me extremely annoyed with this class. The TA saves the day, but as a whole TAMU needs to revamp the class because the time to grade impact is min. As a top school, cmon

Um, for starters, I have never met a more rude and unprofessional professor. After my content disappeared while studying, she was of no help and even insinuated I disrespected her, then tried to make me come to office hours. Yeah, up yours Sandy cheeks. I absolutely hated this class but the TA was alright. Get ready to spend hours studying for a C.

This class was so unnecessarily hard and there was so much busy work. Part of your grade is left up to your TA. Definitely my least favorite class I have taken in MAYS.

Honest Review. Class is far too specific to give any long-term meaningful takeaways. Some of the lecture content is actually really interesting and informative - unfortunately, what the exams test over isn't useful to you long term. More of a luck-based class than anything else with your TA. The class should be redesigned in the near future.

Worst proffessor I have ever had. Doesnt curve, only eliminates a few of the hard questions from the test. Ended up with a 89.77 in the class. Need a 90.00 minimum for an A. Do NOT take this proffessor. Grades hard on DAILY grades, tests require bulk memorization and extensive application.

Dr. Lampo was an extremely rude, unrealistic professor who honestly surprised me with her incompetence as the semester went on. I went to weeks of office hours with the Admin and Classroom TAs and even met with her, and couldnt do better than a B. Sandi Lampo is by far the worst professor I've ever had. She is two-faced and can't tell her students the truth so take what she says and do the opposite. This class has 3 classes of work rolled into one. Textbooks, lectures, and case studies all show up on tests and nothing builds/reinforces each other so everything is like new material. Sucks.

So egotistical and rude. Honestly, very scatter brained and she is of no help when things go wrong. She makes everything harder for students and is one of the most inconsiderate professors I have had. Throws a fit when she feels things don't go her way, which is ironic considering she is a teacher. So dense and gives horrible feedback. Hated it.

I usually give teachers the benefit of the doubt because I know teaching can be hard. But I straight up don't like her at all. She is very rude to her class and does a horrible job of explaining assignments. She expects us to fix her mistakes, but counts off a ton of points if we do it wrong. One of the worst classes I've taken. She assigns all of her students with insane amounts of unnecessary work to do outside of class. I'm yet to gain something of value from this course. Friday breakout sessions are graded way too hard. She truly puts in the effort to make her class impossible. Avoid her class.

Most unorganized class Ive ever taken. Professor, TAs, and Research Admins are too confused by their own rules to even answer any questions. This should not be a required course at Mays. I will learn nothing of value the entire semester. Lampo is no help so don't waste your time on her. Seriously dont know how she still has a job

Her TAs are scared of her. She does not know how to communicate effectively. She has the audacity to ask her students if they have been trying to apply and understand the material when we struggle to get through it before the test. I have learned nothing from this class. By far the worst CBK at Mays because they have the worst person to teach it.

Oh. My. Gosh. This is the least favorite class I’ve ever taken. Her tests do not test over what we should be learning. Small group sessions are graded so hard. Group work weekly. SO MUCH BUSY WORK. THIS IS NOT MY MAJOR. This class needs to be for MKTG majors and a diff one for other business majors this is a huge time sucker.

This class is like 10x the amount of work an intro marketing class should be. The group project assignments you do w/ your discussion group are basically a whole other class worth of time outside normal class, and they are barely worth any points towards the final grade. Tests are made to be very tedious and hard. Professor is decent. Terrible CBK.

Really sad how hard this class is made, when the subject of marketing is both intuitive AND easy. I have had a marketing centered job for years and this class was the bane of my existence... Especially when your TA is the hardest grader and gives you 65's for not going "above and beyond." I would never take this class again if I could, worst ever.

This class needs a complete redesign. Lampo has no sense of teaching and is very passionate and way too bubbly about intro marketing. Her reasoning for assigning tedious and outright obnoxious textbook and project assignments is flawed and unnecessary. This class will make you want to change your major to something other than marketing.

It's honestly very disappointing that this is my first experience with marketing. I was really looking forward to this class and I have been severely let down. To start off, the class requires you to memorize the most minute details from the textbook and other random articles. Grading is subjective, and there is no good way to study for exams.

I looked forward to this class so much but was so disappointed. There is an unbelievable amount of busy work that keeps me busier than finc 341 and acct 327 combined, which says a LOT. This class is overly difficult and not effective. You will spend your whole semester outlining boring textbook chapters. The group project is fun but it also takes so much time. I spent more time on this class than my 3 others combined. The lectures aren't very helpful. Make sure you read the chapter as little of the content is taught in class.

Possibly hardest CBK A&M has not because of the subject of marketing, but because of the completely unnecessary amounts of assignments and readings you have to do. Be prepared to learn upwards of 150 definitions that you will never use or hear again. Also, she has such a fake "fun" voice when she talks it will make your ears bleed. She. Is. Awful.

This professor has the most unclear grading criteria and her tests cover the most unimportant parts of the class and are completely random for each student. This class feels like 3-in-1 with all the work she requires research studies are a joke but mandatory, your grade for friday BO depends solely on you TA which you may or may not be lucky with!

Honestly, the grade you get in this class is all based on pure luck. Reading and outlining the Textbook takes HOURS. The questions you get on the test are randomly selected from a huge pool. Some are super easy and others are so specific they are impossible to remember. I took HUNDREDS of pages of notes and studied a ton to just get a B. TA sucked.

She allows students to email her if we can prove our answer is correct with text evidence. However, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DISPUTE TEST QUESTIONS. IT IS A WASTE OF TIME EVEN IF YOU ARE RIGHT. She tries to make the class difficult for no reason, listen to all the other 1 star reviews for an accurate description of the class.

This class is a 1/5 difficulty that has been made into a 5/5. Lampo either brought in useless guest speakers or just canceled class. This is the first class I can honestly say I gained nothing from. The TAs have a power complex and hate giving out 100s on assignments. If I could give a 0/5 rating I would. This class will make you hate marketing.

do not take her, her quizzes are 18 questions in 15 mins and are really hard. you have to do much extra stuff for her class and she is very picky about every little detial being correct, and she dose not care about her students.

She is awful! Take someone else if you can! The quizzes are so difficult because she ask the most random detail from a 50-100 pages of reading. On top of this all the assignments that are given in the break out group are easy but you will never get a 100 and rarely an A on them. I got an A in FINC 341 but will get a B or C in this class!

I spend ten hours a week studying for her quizzes. Friday's we're in a group project doing a group assignment. These assignments are graded by "going above and beyond", not by doing the work. Barely any groups will get full points on these and every group always finishes with seconds to go. 0/10 class, makes me hate marketing, which I used to like.

This class honestly should be a lot easier than it is. As an intro marketing class, I had more homework and quizzes than most of my accounting and finance courses. Needlessly detailed weekly quizzes with too much material. You have to attend research studies outside of class (not bad, just annoying) and do weekly group projects that are often stressful and rushed. Some days she just has guest speakers for attendance points- easy but a waste of time. This course has a lot of fluff and is way too complicated.

The class was hard for no reason. I studied for hours for the weekly 15-minute quizzes just to fail and fail again. I attended classes, took lots of notes, made quizlets, did the practices in the textbook, and still struggled.

The entire class could be moved online. The lectures are pointless and a waste of time. You are graded by how well you can recall the 3+ hours of reading you need to finish for the weekly quizzes. The class is a waste of time with no discernible benefit to it.

Do not take this professor if you don't have to. Class consists of lectures or guest speakers that are mandatory attendance. If you are one minute late, you get a 0. Grades consists of group work that your TA grades harshly and weekly quizzes that are SO DIFFICULT. There is so much reading to do before the quizzes and it is 18 questions in 15 min.

Unnecessarily hard class. Insane amount of reading for weekly quizzes (15 min for 18 q. on lockdown browser). Includes q's about lecture and guest speakers so show up to class. It is almost impossible to get a 100 on the assignments in the breakout class but it depends on your TA. There are also required research studies for participation grade.

The quizzes have been replaced by an annotation tool (Perusall). Everything in the class has been replaced by some sort of automated system; you are rarely graded by a person. Lampo disabled a helpful feature on Perusall that lets us see assignment progression and gives tips; there was no reason for this other than to hurt the students more.

Writing 1000 words weekly for MTKG 321 feels excessive, especially with poor lectures and irrelevant topics. It's baffling that this class demands more time than courses like FINC 341. Many switch majors post this course. Professor Lampo's constant, trivial emails are tedious. Mays should reconsider this class's place in the curriculum.

This class was filled with unnecessary busy work that added nothing to my college experience. This was probably the least helpful class in Mays with all the busy work. The class could have been set up with just tests and quizzes like every other class and taught me more or about the same. This class is an absolute joke.

In a lot of the assignments you were grading other classmates work then a TA would grade your grading and your work. The format of the class was terrible. This class is an absolutely ridiculous amount of work for an intro class. Quizzes are online with a lockdown browser and camera. Attendance on Fridays is mandatory or else you will likely fail and there are no free skips. Professor Lampo reads directly from the slides and acts like MKTG 321 is your only class.

I am a marketing major, and I feel like the only thing I learned was what the 4 Ps are. Pointless lectures and really hard quizzes.

Super unclear class structure. If you don't play close attention to everything she gives you you will fall behind fast. Quizzes are easy, but you have to teach yourself the content and it takes a bit.

1 sentence to describe this class: Quizes of death. Outside of quizes, this class is easy. If you don't 10 pages of notes on each chapter in the textbook and write 5 pages of notes each class, you will NOT get an A. You will slowly but surely loss points here and there by missing a question here and there from the quizes. Terrible teaching.

Abysmally horrid professor. Genuinely the worst class I have taken at Texas A&M. She treats her Marketing CBK as if it is the only course a student takes during a semester. The amount of work required to barely survive in her class is absurd. Her grading scale is incredibly subjective and she has 0 self awareness as it relates to teaching quality.

It's ridiculous how high the bare minimum bar is in this class. You will also have difficulty managing your other classes and general schedule if you have this class in your plan for the semester as the workload she drops on you is way over the top. A lot of the assignments are also graded by AI, which is absolutely insane.

Easily one of the worst classes i've taken at mays being a finance major. Weekly quizzes that are on lockdown with small details she mentions in class so take very good notes on top of many other assignments you have to keep track off. words can't describe how much i dislike this class just very poorly structured.

You probably don't have another choice but just get ready. She changes the class every semester-if you have quizzes, it's regurgitated info at random. Her teaching methods are horrible and she is a narcissist & extremely rude. This class has so many side quests & the info is so basic, but she makes it 10 times harder than it needs to be. Don't take Lampo if you have another option but I think she's the only one that teaches 321. Take notes over everything even the most obscure details including videos because she puts them on quizzes. Quizzes make up majority of your grade so make sure to study your notes. lampo will tell you to follow the rubric and then you'll get a 50. she's looking for ways to not give points. attendance is mandatory for quizzes. which, by the way, are every week, and include random questions like, “dr lampo would say this…”. she acts like her class ISN'T a CBK. i have never had so many problems with a professor.

Starting off, she is a nice person and provided some great information when going to lectures. However, this was one of the worst classes that I have taken so far in college. There is SO much busy work that piles up every single week and super unclear grading criteria.

Q-dropped this class as sophomore and finally took it as a senior hoping she would be gone by then. Happy to receive my first ever D in this class because I chose to respect my time/happiness over the extreme busy work this class only is. Once received 0 on entire module because I submitted 3 pdfs separately instead of combining them into one.

She just does things horribly in this class. I went 1 second over a practice presentation and got a 0 on the assignment, which dropped me 6 points off my final grade and made me end up with a B. She grades some things horribly and always has some niche requirement that is easy to miss on an assignment, that will give you a 0 if you don't do it.

There is so much work in this class there's 2 chapters of read a week with 100 questions on mindtap, weekly simulation, you must be active on microsoft teams. There's lots of guest speaker which is when she takes attendance. Overall the subject isn't that hard but there's so much work that it gets overwhelming if you don't stay on top of it.

Easy class but Lampo makes it so painful. Half of the quiz questions are "In class we talked about..." rather than straight up content, so you have to actually go to every lecture. There's also an unnecessary amount of work. This class was the reason I stopped looking both ways before crossing the road to get into Wehner on Mon & Wed mornings

MKTG 321 is a required course for many students and seemingly an easy class. While the course material itself is easy, the amount of busy work given is absurd. You will find yourself doing assignments for hours, only did get a few credit points. The grading rubric is also unreasonable, you could get a zero on an assignment for the smallest reason.

Do not take this professor! She does not care about her students and has an awful grading rubric. If you make the SLIGHTEST mistake she could give you a zero on an assignment that will drop your entire letter grade. Whoever said they stopped looking both ways before coming to Wehner is completely correct. I have never had a professor so horrible.

I felt like I was fighting an uphill battle the entire semester. Her expectations are way too high and almost unattainable. The course is structured in a way that makes you want to cry or give up completely. I wanted to like her because she seem like a nice person, but the course is extremely difficult for no reason and caused a lot of stress.

She is extremely picky, and barely teaches anything. Everything has to be in her format and she barely gives partial credit, and she cares more about things like formatting than you actually learning marketing. Being an intro to marketing class, this is the worst because you don't actually learn anything on the subject.

Her grading is absurdly harsh. Even the smallest mistake results in a zero, regardless of the rest of the work. There's no room for partial credit or learning from errors. It feels more like a punishment than a learning experience. She also makes the TAs literally GUARD the doors during attendance which is laughable. If you can't avoid, be prepared

I had an A before an assignment and I happened to miss a minuscule part of an assignment and instead of getting partial credit, I got no credit! The weekly quizzes are full of random things she talks about in class and are not helpful to students' learning as a collective. This was just bad

Like everybody else has said, Lampo is a terrible professor. The smallest mistake results in a zero which can bring your final grade down several points. No room for negotiations either, that mistake will always be your fault and she lacks the empathy to help you. "She's preparing us for the real world", except in the real-world people help you.

This professor is one of the worst at Mays. She cares too much about paying attention to every single detail in the assignment rather than the content. Prof also barely teaches about marketing, the majority of the time you are doing busy work, that pertains to marketing. This class is a joke and a terrible intro to marketing.

This professor gives you simple assignments, but with instructions and rules that makes doing them extremely tedious, and are accompanied with an all or nothing grading style. She will instantly give you zeroes over the smallest mistakes to help “prepare you for the professional world.” She intentionally makes an easy class as tedious as possible.

Class is a mess. So unorganized and TA's will give you a 0 if you didn't follow the maze of directions on canvas. Majority of class is simply explaining what the assignments are, not much lecture. The actual work is easy, but the hard part is trying to organize her canvas page.

Marketing is easy, but my god does this course make it as difficult as possible. The professor is nice, but the TAs' grading policy is essentially 100% or 0%, no in between. The instructions for assignments become so tedious and easy to miss 1 minuscule detail that can turn an otherwise easy assignment into something that tanks your grade.

This class might be the most predatory offered that I have ever seen. Her TA's are the most harsh graders of all time, and their grading system is set up for student failure, not success. There is no support, no exceptions, and no kindness from any of them. As a marketing major, this has been the most disappointing introduction of all time.

This class is easily the worst business prereq at Mays. It is designed to punish students rather than teach them. There are weekly quizzes that are unnecessarily tricky, all-or-nothing assignments where TAs are excited to find a reason to give you a 0, and an artificial wall the professor puts between her students to make reaching out impossible

Weekly quizzes with random questions pulled from guest speakers / the text book / lectures. They are almost impossible to study for. The worst part is the group simulation where 30% of your entire grade is decided by an AI grading 3 assignments. Your grade isn't really in your hands, good luck with the TAs. This class is the worst eva.

Quizzes are impossible to study for even if you go to class and read the textbook. Extremely harsh grading that makes it almost impossible to get and A no matter how much time you put in. Canvas page is very difficult to understand. You will get points off for things the TAs make up. Dr. Lampo made the class way harder than it needs to be.

Absolutely worst professor I have ever taken at Mays. The content itself isn't difficult but Lampo never misses an opportunity to make things gratuitously difficult, like giving zeroes for incorrect file names. Quizzes are unnecessarily difficult, and often require 3-4 hours of prep outside of class.

Quizzes are unnecessarily tricky, with the average consistently being around 60%. Grading is structured to punish students for any mistakes they make. Unlike the other intro courses like FINC and ACCT, where you can work hard to get an A, this class feels disproportionately difficult despite the underlying material being relatively straightforward.

This professor made attendance mandatory for the Monday prior to Thanksgiving and 30 minutes prior to start of class she cancelled citing a family emergency. Why does A&M keep professors with a 2.1 rating? Horrible teaching manner.

This is arguably the most tedious class I have taken at Mays. The whole course's grading policies are very unreasonable and the TA's are also tough graders. This class is supposed to be easy and that's why they try to make it harder every semester. Quizzes are also impossible to study for, the average is like a 60%.

Least favorite class I've ever taken and there is nothing you can do but suck it up and take it (if in Mays). Quizzes don't actually test knowledge and are questions like "In class, what parody was in this commercial?". Lampo is okay honestly but she is so strict with small details. The 4 quality rating under mine is unjustifiable!

The entire grade is determined by a weekly quiz based off of content discussed in-class. It never covers actual marketing concepts in general or from the textbook, purely just random anecdotes or details from stories she yaps about. The class feels directionless, out-to-get-you, and hostile rather than nurturing

Quizzes, Group Simulation, Individual assignments, Minuscule grading requirements, graded by AI. I think ACCT 327 was easier than this class.
