Sanjay Jayachandran is the greatest professor at SMC.I REALLY MEAN IT.I am taking the Hybrid(BIO3) class W/him.. If you attend all the labs and if you read the study guides you will be fine. He is very friendly with international students. Take him with your friends&u ll have fun! You wont get bored at all and u ll learn a lot! He is OUTSTANDING!!!

There is nothing to dislike about this man. Biology bores me to tears but I loved going to this class. His tests are straightforward and stress free.He wants you to succeed and above all have fun with the subject. He's friendly, personable, he's on facebook, and hosts amazing parties. You would be a moron not to take ANY course with him. BRILLIANT

Sanjay, he is very helpful, and laid back professor. There is multiple assignments and all easy. Just be there and you will get an A. his class is very amusing and you will love going to class. He cares about you as a student and helps you with all your questions. He is good as friend as much as a professor. totally recommended..

Sanjay is the best biology professor. He is helpful and clear. He is kind and cares about his students. The class was never boring. You have a quiz every class but if you read the labs you will do well. He gives you study guides for all the test so there are no surprises. I would HIGHLY recommend him. I will miss attending his Saturday classes.

Sunjay is a GREAT teacher! He's really laid back and is always willing to help! His class isn't too difficult but it's not easy. If you want an A you need to put some time in before the tests. But it's not impossible, like most other bio classes! He really cares about his students and treats them like equals. TAKE HIM! U'll love him, I do!!

this class is definitely an easy A and it's like a high school biology class. don't buy the textbook, because his notes cover everything you need to know. lab quizzes are easy if you read the lab manual. some ppl are too dumb to get an A,so they cheat. however, he's a bit laid back so he ain't report any of them.

Really caring teacher. Explains things very clearly. I never thought I'd LOVE science... it's all about the professor! He's knowledgeable and laid back... unlike some of the other students that tried to cause drama, and made him rearrange his whole lecture/tests!! Wish he taught more classes!

Sunjay is an amazing teacher and person.I went into class not liking bio;left loving bio,and had a sense of community.Got an'A'.He's smart,funny,suave.Throws awesome parties,talks w/students,not at them,I feel like he is another student,just a lot smarter:-)b sure 2 take good notes,even stuff he doesn't write on board.I will miss him greatly. I was not a SCIENCE person and thought I would never say this, however, I LIKE BIOLOGY NOW! Dr. Sunjay knows every single thing of the class and extremely smart! he is clear and what he is teaching. His hand writing was a little bit hard to understand at first tho=). I will miss his class a lot. **Highly Recommended**

definatly take professor jayachandran for bio 3 he is not only fun to be around but truely cares about his students. if you come to class, work hard, and participate the a wont be hard to achieve. hes a great teacher so i would def reccomend his class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Decent teacher, doesn't ask as much of you as other bio profs do. No need to buy the $120 book. Won't be used at all. Literally. If you do the labs and follow his study guides/powerpts to the tee, you can get an A easily. Just put a little effort in and it will be returned twofold. He does choose favorite though, so don't get on his bad side.

Sunjay's lectures are straightforward and relate directly to the exams/quizzes. He is a very knowledgeable professor and you learn this not simply through first hand experience, but just by learning about his academic background and research. Very resourceful, extremely easy to get along with, and exceedingly reasonable. Going to his class was fun!

Sunjay is the best professor at SMC.This class was for 3 hours on Saturday mornings and it was always fun to attend. The labs were really interesting and hands-on, letting us learn for ourselves. Sunjay was also very helpful. If you have a question he will thoroughly explain the answer until you understand. I highly recommend this course to anyone!

this was a great class, and i recommend anyone who wants to get a hands on feel for biology to take the course. His class is not easy, but he teaches you and guides you in order to make the class easy. Great teacher, great atmosphere. i did not mind spending my sat morning in his class at all.

Sunjay is TRULY the BEST! I don't think I have ever had such a good professor as Sunjay. He is extremely helpful, always reachable, super friendly, funny and serious when he needs to be. He is very understanding and wants all his students to do well. AWESOME professor, AWESOME class, I learned so much. Not too hard not too easy. PERFECT! TAKE HIM!

one of the best professors i have experienced at SMC! extremely clear; you'll do great as long as you show up to class and take notes. tests are straight forward-all questions are straight out of class notes so there are no surprises! definitely take his class if you're willing to put some effort into the class. VERY EASY if you study class notes!

Professor Sanjay is the best science teacher ever. This guys knows his stuff, he is so clear with his material and always asks the class if they understand the material. Sanjay is the man because he is very clear. He is amazing. Hopefully he is fulltime soon so everyone can enjoy him. He takes the time help you because he wants you to succeed.

YOU MUST TAKE HIM!!!!! I took his class once a wk (sat). At 1st I thought it was gonna be horrible. But NOPE! I can't express how much FUN this class was and I'm not even a science kind of person. He's very sociable! (literally, throws parties at his place) lol! EASY A. Just attend class and make use of his study guides bc they really ARE helpful.

Great class but not as easy as everyone thinks..you need to work hard to earn your grade but he provides study guides and drops the lowest test score which is helpful. Highly recommend but be prepared to work and study hard. Sunjay's a homie

Sunjay is an amazing professor. very helpful and provides hours for students so they could succeed. He is a very kind professor and truly cares about his students. He's not as easy as everyone thinks. You have a lab quiz every week and you have 4 mulitple choice and free response and your final is worth 200 points so it can make you or break you. He really cares about his students and is always willing to help and explain. Awesome teacher nicest guy but if you take him just make sure your ready to study!!

If ur looking for a teacher to make a very hard & boring subject fun & exciting then ur looking up the best professor not only does he encourage students to ask questions & offer extra help on his own time He doesnt move forward unless every1 grasps the material If u actually pay attention & do all the work there is no reason y u wouldn't get an A

Hes not easy lots of labs, quizes and difficult tests but my favorite forsure even though i hated bio before I took him. Love him! if you can add..take him!!!

Not as easy of a class as everyone makes it to seem. He's an amazing professor and truly cares about his students - an often rare quality to find in professors these days. Fun class. Lots of information covered on each exam so pay attention during lecture and write explanations to all the diagrams because most exam essays come from those.

Great bio Professor. This man knows what he is talking about considering that he is a Columbia University graduate! This class is DEFINITELY not an easy A or a class to be mistaken as a GE. Be prepared to pull all nighters and memorize all biology related diagrams and steps. Class is as difficult as a UCLA bio course.

He's not the easiest professor, but if you take notes and study your notes then you'll be fine. He's such an awesome and helpful professor. He even gives you a study guide!! I don't like taking science classes, but he made it worth it. He makes class enjoyable... such a chill and amazing professor.

He really made me realize what i am actually capable of. Overall, wonderful teacher. He's very approachable and I learned more than i thought i could in a very short amount of time with all the help he gave me over his 6 week summer class . Sanjay is a down to earth and very approachable professor. He is the best bio teacher at smc. Exams are hard because bio is hard but its easy to ask him for help. I recommend getting the text book because his lectures are fast & difficult to take down everything he says. His notes are his exams. Not everything on the study guide is on the exam.

Professor Jayachandran is a fantastic biology professor that makes the material very simple to understand and he makes sure everyone truly understands. As long as you take good notes and listen to him you'll get an A. His exams are straight out from his lectures and he tells you what the short essay questions will be on.

This is Biology. Not an easy course for non-bio lovers. However, he makes it so much more enjoyable! The tests and quizzes are no joke. Be prepared to study. Pay attention during lectures and try not to zone out. He's great at helping you if you're confused or lost. So glad I took it with him!

Great teacher, but you will have to work for it. You have a lecture and a lab every class and an exam every two weeks. Exams are pretty difficult, I recommend studying a good 2 weeks in advance if you wanna ace it; it's multiple choice scantron and essays at the end. Ask him for help one on one if you don't understand something! take good notes

This teacher was by far one of the best teachers I've had. It's a hard class but if you don't understand something he'll go over it again. He'll basically repeat a whole topic if you want him to, which is needed because bio isn't an easy subject. His tests are like the study guide. You can use ANY biology book you want or the Internet to clarify.

Professor-Mr. Sanjay was absolutely amazing. I've learned more from his biology class than I did from most of the other science courses I've taken. He thoroughly explains material and he only puts in his exams what he discusses in class. He's a very fair grader and a personable guy. A true gem indeed.

Sanjay is great! Bio is one of the classes that is going to be packed with a lot of material regardless. Gives great lectures. Record him and use that along with your notes to study for your exams. He provides study guides online and free response topics in class. As long as you complete the study guides then you should be alright. He's funny-ish

By far the best professor I have had at SMC. He really does care about you and wants you to do well. You just study for the tests and the labs are always fun and a great learning experience as he is there to guide you and help you to get the grade you want.

Excellent teacher, clear grading criteria. Tests are moderately difficult and are entirely based on the notes. If you work hard, you will be fine. I would absolutely recommend taking this professor.

TAKE NOTES on what he says, not just what's on the board, REVIEW notes outside of class (super important because class is only 1x a week and you forget), and STUDY for tests two weeks in advance. He always let us out early and is super nice when you have a question. If you don't understand something, ASK a question

Amazing teacher; explains concepts wonderfully. Everything is based off of lecture, but he tells you what is going to be on every test. Super nice and open to questions. I genuinely enjoyed every class and learned and retained a lot. Study in advance and it will be easy. Drops lowest test and quiz. Opportunity for extra credit on the final.

By far the BEST bio professor anyone could ever take! So caring and always really understanding!! Make sure you attend class because his lectures really help you study for the test! Thanks again Professor Jayachandran!!!!

Professor Jayachandran was a really good professor and he really looks out for his students. At the beginning the class was a little shaky but he drops an exam and makes sure to get you were you want to be.

Took professor Jayachandra for Bio 3 during the summer semester. It's not an easy A you need to work for your grade. Study, pay attention in class and you should be fine. He is a very sweet, loving understanding professor one of my favorites in smc since I started. You can always approach him for help or email him out of class. Always has a smile

Biology is most certainly not a passion of mine, but I was lulled into a state of hypnosis by Jayachandran's ability to condense abstract concepts into consumable bits .Class is test heavy, so come prepared to actually learn the info; no textbook req. I would not recommend this class if you are anti-social/boring. The professor loves to ENGAGE.

Took him during the summer and he only taught half the session while another teacher taught the other. His class was really easy since he only emphasized the important parts in the lecture so it wasn't much to study. Made the class a friendly environment and gave extra credit which brought me to 100. Very knowledgable which made the lectures clear

Prof Sanjay on the first day of class tells you will have to review your notes two hours every day which is true. He grades fair, he just wants you to understand bio and not be an expert at it. Professor Sanjay cares about the success of every student and puts every topic into simplest form. quiz every week until final, 4 exams 1 dropped.

Professor Jayachandran was a caring, patient, and very knowledgable professor. I would 100% take his class again and most of the students would feel the same. There is a quiz once a week, lab once a week, and test every 3-4 weeks or so. Make sure you take his advice about successful study habits and you'll get the grade you'll want to receive :)

Prof. Jayachandran is a really amazing & caring professor. If you prove to him that you genuinely want to learn & care about your grade he will make sure that you will do well in the class. With that said, don't take his kindness for weakness. It is still a biology class and you will have to put effort in to succeed. Take his course if you can!!!!!

He is the best professor, he wants everyone in the class to pass. He is understanding and all of his reviews/lecture are based off the test. He also has a sense of humor he is a cool professor for sure. Lab quizzes every week & he gives you time to review beforehand. HE WANTS TO HELP YOU PASS. Review your notes in class and you will get an A.

I am very surprised that anyone has anything bad to say about him. Sunjay taught my Bio3 class during the summer 6 years ago and went above and beyond to teach me and all my classmates even outside of work hours when we needed the help most. If your serious about passing, and even med school without a doubt sunjay is the best teacher to learn from.

I truly had an amazing experience with Professor Jayachandran taking Biology. He is super helpful and accessible outside of class with any questions or concerns I had. If you do the assignments and take notes during lectures you will succeed in the class. I would definitely recommend taking this class.

I am so sad that this class is ending because it was one of the best classes I have ever taken the professor is PROFESSIONAL, explains everything clearly, the lessons are very well illustrated, you understand everything IN class, just study well for the exams. he looks like a hard professor but he s SO helpful and caring and a true scientist

I took Professor Jayachandran recently for my BIO with lab requirement and it was such a great experience! I learned so much and the class was actually really fun. If you listen in class, you'll definitely pass. The tests aren't difficult and he gives great study guides before hand. Highly recommend him! You'll be happy you did.

This professor is great! There is never homework, the only lab work with your assigned group! He provides study guides for every test, if you really use them and pay attention in class, you will get an A in this class! Also, he is pretty straightforward on what the answers are for the exam questions.

He is one of the best professor I ever had! His lectures extremely interesting and you will develop conceptual as well as logical way of thinking about living organisms. Even though this class dedicated to general Biology for non major students , trust me, you will learn set of useful information which can be applied to everyday life !

Pay attention to his whiteboard! Quizzes on labs. Drops the lowest test. Study hard & you'll succeed. Everything about him is outstanding! Great experience!!

This professor truly cared for his students. He didn't assign homework, broke down tougher concepts well, answered all questions, gave study guides (which were very similar to exams), and dropped the lowest exam. Plus, he was very accessible outside of class and all of his lectures were recorded. His tests were based off of solely his lectures.

By far my favorite professor at SMC! Lectures are clear and interesting - this is where you get all your test info so don't miss class! Labs are fun and professor sincerely cares about you learning and your future. Take good notes, listen and actually study to get an A. Not a class you can just coast and get a good grade. Prepares you for transfer.

Awesome class, it was very "easy," as in if you took notes during his lectures, you would see that the exams would reflect the same material. He also gives out freebie answers before exams/quizzes so make sure to pay attention! The class work is not difficult to digest or do so please take him!!

Quizzes are easy. From the lab of the previous week; sometimes goes over the answers! As for exams, the study guides are online; goes over them. He doesn't give out hw, just the questions about the lab but its 1-2 pages and easy! One extra credit but boosted my grade fairly enough. Lecture is only 2 hrs; once you're done with lab, you can leave.

Quizzes were easy and he usually went over the answers to them before we took them; the exams were also easy as they were multiple choice and all based on the lectures that he provided. He makes the lectures very digestible and if you don't put in the time I really don't see how you CANNOT do well. Please take him, he is the best.

Loved professor jayachandran! He was so kind and funny and made sure to get to know all of his students. I took his class during the fall and even though the class was super long I didn't mind it. The material is difficult but he gives tells you exactly what is going to be on the exam and the answers. def recommend taking his class.

Professor was the best! I loved his class more than anything and he really teaches with passion and yet makes class feel like a safe space! I could not recommend him enough, I wish he was teaching molecular bio! I am going to miss him a lot. You will have a love for biology after, trust me.

Sanjay is extremely personable, very friendly, and cares a lot about his students. I do not think I could've gotten an A in biology with any other professor, he was very invested in my success. Note, this is a hard class, the exams require a lot of studying. If you make an effort you will do well but this is not a class you can coast in.

I enjoyed Professor Jayachandran's class. His lectures are dense with information, so it's important to pay attention and take good notes. Recording the lectures can also be helpful for reviewing the material later. Repetition is key to succeeding in this class. He also tells what will be on the exam and provides the answers as well.

Love this dude. Most of the class is listening to lectures and writing down notes. His notes are the exact same as what hes going to put on the exam (he literally tells you the first 20 answers and all free response answers). At worst youll be a little lost as its a lot of info but ask questions! move to front if hard of hearing or ask to record
