Just the best professor in that school!
Great guy, but be prepared to work. Very few A's in this class.
VERY INTERESTING, MANY EXAMPLES
Awesome professor, really smart dude from Wheaton graduate school at Upenn, he has great examples, and you can tell he cares about his students.
Prof. Sen provides class with alot of business examples to clarify concepts. However, his tests are hard, he requires alot of group activities, and constantly wants you to participate. On the plus side, he grades pretty fairly.
Knows everyone's name by the second week of class. Provides excellent examples to support his teaching. Emphasis on learning concepts not definitions. You will work for an A in this class but you will learn a whole lot if you do the work.
Nice professor. Always finds time to help, if needed. Tough class at first, but gets easier towards the end. Exams are based on his notes and lectures.
He is the most understanding prof. I have ever had. His class was extremely organized you have no choice but to get an A.
One of my favorite classes. Everything is presented so clearly and interestingly. He is very organized and he applies the concepts to real life cases. You can tell he puts in effort into his teaching and really cares whether we learn or not. A+
Excellent professor!!!. Takes his job very seriouly in that his examples, diagrams are well organized and interesting. He will make you want to work hard to get an A in the class. Tests are not very hard but it is hard to get an A. Love him!!!!!!!!
excellent quality class. Sen is a good guy, very fair and well prepared.
Intelligent & likeable professor. Exams include mult. choice and essay ques.'s. You will also do a couple case analysis and in-class exercises. Expect the course to be challenging but not too difficult ..you will enjoy this class
One of the few classes I can actually leave from there and think to myself that I learned a whole lot. Professor is great, intelligent, and well-organized. I recommend him as a Prof.; just be ready to do alot of group work, however, it is actually a lot fun!
Do not take this class if you want an easy A. Involves work. Do not suggest this class to graduating seniors, only if you actually want to learn something. otherwise he is good.
Best professor of Marketing thus far, no other professor can compare! He teaches this course very precisely and effectively. Course will serve as fundamental knowledge for MKT'ing & he takes it seriously. Sen is the best to take for this course.
Excellent professor. Very smart, polite and helpful. Helps you no matter what. There should be more professors like Sankar Sen. He is not extremely easy but if you read the notes on blackboard and come to class most of the time you'll do great. Really great guy.
Very thorough. Was always well-prepared for the class and presented the frame-works in an understandable way so that we can apply them later. He's not easy, his standards are high.
Took Sen several semesters ago but still consider him to be an outstanding prof. He cares that we learn & apply CB concepts effectively. The class is not that difficult; he breaks down difficult concepts into digestible & very clear forms. Very interesting course. Plus he has a great personality.
very thorough, pretty interesting, nice guy, polite, really cares. probably one of the best mkt profs at the school.

This guy is overrated; trust me. His class is very hard. He is a very tough grader. He have to REALLY work hard to get an A. I've taken finance classes that were easier. I you want to read a lot of nonsense and waste a lot of time take his class. He is one of those guys that you either like or you don't. OVERRATED, TRUST ME!!!!!!!!!!
I would agree with the previous comment. Too much material, exams are hard and you feel like in high school when he calls on you to participate.
If you are a serious student you will love him. It is not a so-called "easy A class" He makes sure u really absorb the material -by giving essay q's on exams, group assignments, case studies, calling on u, etc. But he makes the class interesting enough to motivate you to push yourself. You will need analytical skills to do well.
He makes everything so ambiguous and hard to the extent you lose track on what you're supposed to do for the projects. His directions fluctuate from time to time and he makes sure you work your ass off if you want to do well. I forgot just about everything right after the course ended even though I have the perfect attendance record.
He is one of the best professors at baruch. he knows the material and really puts effort into teaching..He is just great. If you are a serious student you learn a lot. If you are looking for an easy grade without learning much, he is not your guy...He is just great...
Prof Sen is by far the best Marketing Prof at Baruch. His lectures are mesmerizing and he'll engage you in class discussion. You'll learn a lot. A must take prof if you are marketing major. Tests are somewhat challenging, but if you listen to his lectures and read text, then getting an A is not a problem. Very helpful to students besides classroom.
Sen has a very clear knowledge about consumer behavior within marketing field. Attending his class is really enjoyable and you will definitely learn knowledge very efficiently.
more cases study are recommandend.
Professor Sen is really good at consumer behavior. The assignment are really heavy but it did help you to learn a lot of stuff.Just prepare well and participate the class. You will really enjoy this class.
Prof Sen knows his stuff, but his expectations of students are too rigid. You have to write exactly what he wants to read, otherwise he will take points off. He is very approachable outside of class and offers help on the group project. But, he is also very confusing. Just when you think you understand it, he throws you a curve ball.
One of the best professors in Baruch. He is very knowledgeable in the subject area and helpful both inside and outside the class. Expect to do a lot of work and know your material for exams. Exams are long, but easy if you are prepared.
If you are seeking for an easy course that will provide your transcript with an effortless A, then AVOID Prof. Sen! If you are looking to be challenged and learn from someone who is possibly one of the best professors at Baruch, then definitely enroll in his class. You may or may not get an A, but you'll know you left his class a little smarter.
Sen is a very approachable & down to earth professor. He treats his students with respect, is very kind, and is always there to help outside of class. He can, however, be very confusing. This seems strange, as the material appears to be rather straight-forward. A great class, but it felt as though something was always missing from the lectures.
Maybe one of the best prof's at Baruch. Really knows his stuff and always comes to class prepared. Uses very current marketing trends and keeps the class interesting. He's very approachable and easy to chat with about the class or the market. LOTS of group work, so get with good people.
Wants articles exactly as per his wishes. Not worth attending.
Good prof. if u want to learn. Clear, concise, energetic and thoughtful. Expects people to respond, rightfully so, especially for masters. They say he's tough but I got A-; (probably because I got bad group rating. I suck with people :-(. But I did work hard for the grade though.
Taking him this semester. He is an excellent professor. Knows very well the subject and he's very clear in his explanations. Love this professor, even though the subject is not my favorite. Take good notes, that's what you will need for tests. Cases are not that hard.
He constantly showed us interesting real-world marketing materials. CURRENT ones, not like other lazy professors that uses the same stuff year after year. He's funny, approachable, and fair. Can't complain. About him, that is. The course topic on the other hand bored me to bloody tears.I hate theories and concepts.YAWN.2exams,2cases, final projecct
This professor has a smile on his face, as unimportant as it might seem it makes him approachable. He remembers every students' names which makes it personal. The course work: 3 groups case studies and the exams(3) are all very fair. I learned more in his class than MKT 3000 + MKT 3400 together.
Knowledgeable, organized, stimulating, and challenging, esp. group project. You have to think in terms of clear sociological relationships and get them to line up, like debits and credits. Good as he is, unless you need this class for a requirement, you can just read about it selectively. 1 group project, 2 cases on safe sex, 2 exams.
He is a super good professor. I learned a lot from his class. Not hard at all. Very interesting!!! Best professor!!!
I had a great time in his class; I actually found myself looking forward to going to his classes. He teaches in an interesting, concise, and innovative way. I wish he taught another class! I would take any class of his. Study hard for the short answer questions.
One of the better professors at Baruch. Clear, organized and gives relevant examples. You need to take notes (helps a lot) and study consistently for exams but it's worth it, you learn a lot. 3 Exams (MC and short answers), 3 group cases and participation. If you put enough effort you'll do well. His enthusiasm makes the class fun
Professor takes class very seriously. He tries to make sure you understand concepts. Slides are very useful. Participation counts for a lot. 3 case studies with your groups and 3 tests.
Love this class! Challenging & interesting. You will not only learn the concepts, but will be able to apply them to ream life situations. Professor is very helpful and wants you to do good. 3 tests (50MC & 2 short essay questions)+3 group cases analysis+ participation. Take him!!!!
Professor Sen teaches with crazy skill -- this subject would be boring if anyone else was teaching it. Huge project throughout the semester, but he guides you through it. Two exams -- study hard for them! They're important. Shame he doesn't teach any other grad courses.
Young, competent professor who challenges you intellectually in the class discussion. Very clear script. Quite demanding in tests and projects. You will learn a lot in this class!
Professor Sen is outstanding. This class is not easy to garner enthusiasm for, but he teaches so well. I was actually sad to say bye to his class. He's THAT good. Exams can be rough, but completely based off notes - study hard. His project is hefty, but he guides us step-by-step. Awesome class (when taught by Sankar Sen, no one else).
the best MKT prof in Baruch. Passionate, clear, and helpful, He knows what he is teaching and trying to make sure all of the students understand he is materials. Uses real life examples to enhance understanding and has brilliant lecture. NO text book needed. pay attention in class and go to every class and you will be fine. Not an easy A
He is a great and awesome Prof. He is very helpful and great in helping in studying for the exams. Class is not easy, but he is helpful in order to pass the class. Study from his note and what he talks about in class.
Great prof. Really makes you work. You go to him and ask questions and he will answer all of them. Very smart and nice, but you can tell he takes no nonsense.
It's a hate & love relationship. Professor Sen is an excellent professor, interesting lectures, great teaching methods, but his assignments are very demanding. He wants it his way and ONLY HIS WAY or you will never get a good score. His exams are long and his assignments are never one page. Better be prepared for many night and weekends doing them.
Great caring professor who wants his students to do well. Attendance is not mandatory, but to do well on the tests you should go to class. Textbook helps sometimes, but can do well in the class without it. 3 non-cumulative tests, 3 one page assignments, gives extra credit for those who participate in class. He makes boring material interesting.
Simply... he is a great professor. Just a fair warning if you don't pay attention to his lectures you won't get a great grade. His lectures are very interesting just make sure you have the ppt and read ahead of time. He communicates well with students. But his tests are hard & long (50MC&2SA) ,3 exams (non cumulative) and 3 case studies.
Excellent communicator who knows how to bring students into the loop and keep them interested with many quirks from his presentations along with a charming personality. A must have for the course though is at least a laptop or a quick hand to take notes, just study those for the test and you will do fine. He is a class- A professor.
Outline of the class, 3 group case studies, 3 non cumulative tests: 50 points on multiple choice 50 points on short answers, attendance is non mandatory but it is good to go because the examples he uses are on the tests. He does curve. Overall GREAT PROFESSOR.
Lectures are very engaging and interesting, he's funny and nice. His tests are not funny or nice. You'll probably get half credit on your first open answer section, but you'll look over it and will grudgingly agree with why he took points off. He's laid back, but he takes his class super seriously. Worthwhile class if you care about learning.
Wonderful professor! I highly recommend him! You will learn a lot from his class. His lectures are very clear and easy to comprehend. Tests and Cases Analysis are little tough. But you should be fine, if you attend every class and take very careful notes! Book is not needed. Participation is a plus!
Nice guy, 3 tests, they are okay. 3 group project (nonsense). You will learn sth from his class. He doesn't explain in depth, very short power point slides
One of the best professors at Baruch. Attendance isn't mandatory but you should absolutely show up to class. Partly because a lot of the test is lecture based, but also just because his lectures are great. He's extremely welcoming of questions and meeting outside of class. Pay attention, ask if you don't understand, and you'll get a good grade.
I cannot say enough about Professor Sen. His lectures are clear and extremely useful, and the questions he asks the class are engaging. His exams are fair, and the group case study assignments are not hard at all. I loved this class because of this professor! I would advise anyone to take him if you can.
Professor Sen is a great professor. He is very smart and is always open to answering your questions. Get on Zoom and listen/take notes. His tests are fair and if you study your notes and the slides you'll be fine. 3 small group projects (easy) and 3 tests. Very nice professor.
The professor is nice and explains things well. His slides are super helpful and basically all you need to study for the exams. Thankfully there's no textbook in addition but the group projects are a bit annoying.
He doesn't take attendance but he does count participation. You really learn so much in his class and his lectures are interesting bc he provides examples. He explains everything very clearly. 3 exams and 3 group projects (2-page case analysis). Exams are very fair. Available outside of class and thru emails. Not an easy A class but it is worth it!
No attendance, But you need to answer in-class questions to earn participation points! Class is very interesting and detailed. But no detail on the PPT, just oral. If you miss it, you miss it. His exams were almost all about details. Therefore, you must pay full attention in class. Otherwise, you won't be able to review on ppt before test. HARD A!
Don't be fooled by these reviews, all 3 tests are very hard , avoid if you can and save your gpa, not worth it
He is a great professor. I understood everything in the lecture. The exams are a bit hard. Pay attention to details during class, those will be on the test. Lots of critical thinking in his tests too. Group projects are a bit challenging, but some people find it easy. I learned a lot attending his class. Not an easy A- so worth it though.
A good man, but hard class. There are 3 exams in a semster, which count 75% of your final grade. (lose exam, no A) All the exams were written by himself, some of the questions were hard to understand. In addition, you have to answer his questions every 5 mins for participation points, which count 10% of final grade. He could be an option.
Amazing Professor, learned a lot in his class. His exams were hard, you have to pay attention to the details in his lectures and they will all be tested on. Three exams, three group case analysis paper. Down side is you can't pick your group so bad group members could definitely hurt your grade. Not an easy A.
Places you into group @ start of semester & gives you 3 projects to do. Lots of reading for the projects & you must work w/ the group thru each step (can't split up work). Tough grader, don't know anyone who got 100 on the projects. 3 exams non cumulative but complicated wording. Practice exams way easier than actual exa. His teaching is very vague
Prof. Sen was a pretty solid teacher this semester even though we had to learn online. The worst part of the course were the group papers since groups were randomly assigned. Make sure to really review the practice questions and know the reasoning behind the answers to them. Not a hard course but Zoom fatigue did hit after a while.
This was just okay. Professor isn't bad but the worst part is that common sense does not count in this class which can get to be very frustrating because he refers to the real world a lot. 3 group case-studies which were terrible because I had the worst group. Groups are randomly assigned at the beginning of the semester. 3 exams - 75% of grade.
He's a gem. Prof. Sen is always very nice, kind and knows his material well. He cares about you. Awesome lectures full of real life examples & make you see things from a new angle. Make yourself a favor and attend his lectures. You'll not regret! Btw, his tests based on examples from the lectures. Easy class if you pay attention. TAKE HIM!
The professor is very understanding and offers help if needed but this class was not easy although attendance is optional you need to attend to pass the exam which are challenging imo
Avoid at all costs. Goes on random tangents during class and exams are extremely challenging when they should not be. I suggest taking another professor.
He grade heavily on exam and group project. 3 Exam and he will weight more on the highest one. This is a class that you really want to learn something for your career, but i don't recommend taking him if you only want easy grade. I got 3 exam and group project all above average but still get b+, you need to ACE THE EXAM, he is a fair grader, no HW.
The tests are full with so much information you don't know where to begin to study and it's about 100 pages of studying for each test. It's exhausting and then half of the studying isn't even on the exam. Asks very specific questions and is terrible with any feedback. I wish i had taken someone else. Hated my experience.
Honestly the professor wasn't that bad. His lectures contain a lot of information to process at once. Tests are worth over 75% of your grade. Be sure to study plenty and always come to class with questions. A little boring but definitely tolerable.
Professor sucks is very lecture heavy but despite coming to every lecture you'll still do poorly. isn't direct about which units are on test. wouldn't take. save your gpa
Professor Sen is definitely tolerable but his lectures are sooo boring, he talks the full time about any and everything. Don't get me wrong, he definitely knows a lot of things and is extremely smart but this is not the person to take if you want to get in & get out. He gives 3 tests worth 75% of your grade, 3 group projects worth 15% of your grade
The professor is nice and will take the time to help you if you ask. Tests make up a majority of your grade and focus on your understanding and appliance of concepts rather than memorization. Because of this, attending and actually paying attention to the lectures is vital. Dont take if you expect to coast by and get an easy grade
Prof.Sen was one of the most caring and chill professors I had.Attendance is not mandatory but his exams tend to be based on things he said in class, so attendance is recommended. No homework assignments, but there are 3 case analysis. Super flexible and genuinely cares for his students. Not an easy class but prof makes it as simple as possible
Super boring class and he would just go on random tangents during class instead of teaching the material. Tests were often random information. Get ready to learn and read completely on your own. Attendance is mandatory even though nothing of value is said during class time.
He wants us to learn, loved him. If you can take his course, do it. Furthermore, he is so nice, he does not care if you miss class or not, always with a smile and asking you how you are.
