He can not teach, but if you need help you can go to his office. He is aleays willing to help you, if you go to his office.
his test are very hard. do not recommend for anyone.
He answer any questions that's needed. He's also nice but his class is hard.
so far his class seems easy
He is one of the best teachers I had. He is very understanding and he is always available to help you! I have an A in the class. He looks just like Ben Stiller haha. He makes study guides for the midterm and final and it is exactly what is on the test! Highly recommend!
Hard to understand him sometimes b'cause he has an accent. But he is a very good teacher.
He is simply the best.Just go to his office and he will be glad to help you out. I came out of Chem 101 in the Spring 2005 with an A
Cool teacher. For the final if you had a low test grade or low quiz average he takes the lowest one and throws out the low grade and uses the final grade!
He is very loud, and he pretty much shouts the whole class! Nice guy though. He is kinda funny to watch during class. First part of semester tough, but the second half is much easier!
This guy hurts my ears and is kinda dull. His test suck! they are only about 10-20 questions total and worth 20-25 points each so if you miss one worth 5 points you are screwed because total the test are worth 100 points. his test are not scantron and he never reviews so his tests are hard. his final may replace a test but it is cumulative
He is VERY loud. Will hurt your ears no matter where you sit in the room. His tests are ridiculously hard. No scantron, no m/c, all short answer/essay format. Class is very boring and he drones on and on about the same stuff for weeks. Never any more interesting. Deffinitely would not take him again.
he defintely makes sure you can hear him....he is a good teacher once you get used to his teaching methods.
He is one of the best Chemistry 101 & 102 teachers you can have. The classes are great and he is great too!!!
I actually found his class to be pretty easy, just review your notes before tests and quizzes and you will do fine
he's a great instructor, very helpful and extremely nice. but kind of picky with grading.
Great professor! Very knowledgeable on the subject. He has real world experience. Tries to make it interesting and he pops out a few jokes here and there. He is only hard if you do not study and do not do the homework from the book. I would highly recommend him.
I took him spring 2007. I left his class with a B....he's a really good teacher...yes, he is very loud too. just show up for class and copy his notes...his tests are not hard at all and they come right from his notes....this class wasn't that bad for me and i'm not a big fan of chemistry..i would recommend him....
Very helpful. Quizzes could make you or break you, be prepared for them. He is a great instructor. I hate chemisty and was failing at first, but came out with a "B".
Easy class, make sure you attend class and take notes and study because his notes and test are similar, study and you'll definetly make an A. Don't blow off quizzes!!
TAKE HIM!! His class was pretty easy and I HATED chemistry. After taking it, I actually like it. Attendance and taking good notes is really important, b/c his notes are just like his test. Do yourself a favor, TAKE HIM!
I dont know what these people are talking about. Dr. Landogana did not teach at all. Would not explain detail of labs and many in the class were confused on what we were even doing. you'll pass because everything is worth 10 points each(tests and assignments are equal), but you won't learn anything in this class.
sit in the back. very good teacher, keeps things simple. plenty of chances to get good grade with frequent quizzes.
Dr. Tino is a very good chem teacher. He exlains the lab to a complete extent so you are not just being thrown into the laboratory. I would recommend him to anyone. FYI: he's a litle loud!!:)
He is really nice and helpful but i found his class difficult. None of his quizzes or tests are multiple choice so you have no idea if you are even remotley close to having the right answer. However, he does give a lot of quizzes to give you a chance to raise your grade. Very nice guy though.
Attend class, show that you care, if you put effort in, you will pass. quiz every other week. keep lab notebook. worth a lot of points.
very very helpful with doing the experiments but the quizzes and exams are pretty rough
really easy test, they come right from his notes. his test are always all problems but he works alot of problems for you on the board in class. hes passes a role around every day but doesnt care if you are there. im not good in chem an i made all A's. just study exactly what he gives you in notes and you'll do great!!!!
SO easy.. thats all that matters right! Chemistry is supposed to be hard, at least it was in high school. He is so awesome! He is quite funny. a little bit of an accent, but not a big deal, i have never misunderstood him because of the accent. His english is perfect. He is really really laid back as far as class structure goes.
He is a really good teacher. At first I wasnt doing soo good but once you catch on to his methods he's pretty easy. He is always willing to sit down and explain things if you take the time to go to his office. Take Him!
Midterm and final are impossible. The only thing that kept me from a D was the lab notebook, which we didn't even use. Speaks VERY loudly, so don't sit in the front row. Handwriting is hard to read, so you have to listen closely to what he is saying.
He is not open during office hours. I do not recommend him. He is very insensitive.
I really liked him as a teacher. He is very laid back and as long as you go to class (especially when he gives quizzes) and work the problems in the book you will do good. He also drops the lowest test grade and quiz grade so that makes it easy to bring your grade up in his class. Highly recommended!!!
Lab reports are 40% of your grade, so do them! Has a couple of quizzes that come straight from the last lab report, so they're not hard. The midterm and final are straightforward and come from the lab reports and quizzes, so study those. Some labs were a little confusing but he would help you out. I recommend taking him.
Really good at explaining everything. Goes so slow so everyone understands.
This was a great teacher.I tried so hard in this class and he really helped me out alot.I would recommend him allday everyday.I finished with a B.
He is an awesome teacher! I was so scared of chemistry, but I made an A in the class! He gives lots of quizzes which are really helpful. He explains everything a million times so its easy to understand. He is also very approachable and willing to help you. I begged him to teach chem 102 next semester, but he's not :(
DON'T KNOW
I suck at chemistry, but got a C in Tino's class without trying too hard. He's quite interesting and you can't help but laugh at some of the things he does and says. Give a lot of notes and tells you what's going to be on the test. He also has a very good grading scale and will drop your lowest quizzes and exam.
Dr. Tino is the best! Quizzes every Thursday, tells you what will be on exams and quizzes. Repeats himself a lot so you will have chem ingrained in your head. MAKE SURE you know how to use your calculator for every problem! This will kill you on exams! Gives partial credit, drops quizzes and replaces lowest exam with final grade.
Easy class! The quizzes and tests are kind of tricky, but if you study you cant get a bad grade, grades kind of hard on lab reports, counts off for the smallest things, but he is an OK teacher. Recommended!
He is a wonderful teacher. This is my second time in chem 101 yet this time i have an a average. If you go to class, take notes, and study his examples then you will do well. He drops the 2 lowest quiz grades. he also drops the lowest test grade and replaces it with the final grade. TAKE HIS CLASS if u want to learn
He's not the most interesting professor but he gets his point across. love him. go to class, study notes, you will pass!
I was pretty worried about taking a chemistry class, but it came out okay. He gives plenty of quizzes which really do help you learn. He curves tests which is a big plus! He works a bunch of practice problems, and goes over the tests. Taking this class was worth it. I really do wish that someone would teach him to use the projector, though.
If you go to class, take notes and do the practice problems that he assigns, you will pass.
Highly inteeligent, approachable and clear in all that he says.
He's an easy A, but you don't learn what very much from him.
He is a great teacher. He makes labs very fun. Take him!
I had a gpa of 3.956 (I'm a junior), but not anymore! I finished with a C! I went to his office weekly asking him to clarify information and the only response I rec'd was "this is the way it is." The MM, etc. he used on his test were never correct and during lectures he would get things confused. He doesn't really teach.
repeats himself alot. not too hard. if you go to class and take notes and follow along then hes pretty easy. he reviews alot of stuff that will be on quizes so its a fairly easy class.
Had a D at mid-term, closed with a high B. Took some time to get his teaching style down. Go to class, figure out his methods and you can pass his class. Quizzes are important, so study and practice often. The tests are from his quizzes more or less.
Although he talks really loudly and doesn't make mcuh eye-contact, he is really helpful and clear. I enjoyed the class a lot more than I thought I was going to. He does take off points for small errors on lab reports, but his grading overall is rather easy. I totally recommend him.
I loved this teacher! He was kind of boring sometimes, but he was very clear on all the material he gave us. Easy A without doing any of the homework!!
He was so easy. i was scared chem was going to be hard but i ended up making an A. all you have to do is study for test and quizzes (like the day before) and you'll do fine. he repeats himself a lot and he explains everything very well and works many examples. i def recommend him!
He was nice, and the work was fairly easy.
He is veryy very easy. If you go to class, take his notes, and prepare for his tests, you'll get an A. he repeats things thousands of times, so you'll definitely know the material. he lets us use sci. calculators- some prof's don't.
Dr.tino is very helpful and kind and would often help me in his office 2x a week just to make sure i got an A on the reports. He gives big curves on the tests which help and lab reports are easy. He his the best/easiest lab teacher at slu. I dont think i deserved an A but i got one. The class is everything it should be, EASY and STRAIGHTFORWARD.
He is a magnificent professor! Dr. Tino goes at a very slow pace and explains everything in great detail. His tests and quizzes are exactly what is covered in class and he gives fair warning on test and quiz dates. If you aren't very good in chemistry like me, he's your man! He is more than willing to help out with questions after class and responds quickly to emails. I highly recommend him
Dr.Tino is a GREAT chemistry teacher. He is always willing to help, and more than goes over the material that will be on the test. He has quizzes every now and then, and allows you to drop your 2 lowest quiz scores. You HAVE to go to class. He likes to say 'etcetera' and "we gon" a lot. My friend and I found this very funny while taking notes.
Awesome teacher, easy and extremely helpful. Makes chemistry so easy that even a caveman could do it. You learn alot also...
Helps you with the lab, very clear and straight forward, pretty easy class, just have to attend.
Can't understand what he is writing sometimes he is horrible
He's an extremely helpful professor although he does have really bad handwriting and he write on the board soso small! He will review all your lab reports so that you can make a 100 for that part of the class! Overall, he's a very nice guy!
Dr.Tino is the hottest chemistry professor at SELU. He's very helpful and thorough with each lab. In class, we go over each lab and he explains the purpose of doing this lab, etc. Though his handwriting is not the easiest to understand, I would recommend you take him. He's a really nice guy.
Great guy. The girls think hes hot. His handwriting is atrocious, but he explains everything. If you put forth just a little effort you will make an A in the class. Make sure you do your lab reports and keep a nice lab notebook, and your golden.
He is a very good teacher. He will explain and tell you EXACTLY what's on the exams and quizzes. He also gives plenty of examples of everything that will be on the exam. There are 4 Exams worth 100 points and 12 quizzes worth 10 points a piece. He drops the 2 lowest quizzes.
Dr. Tino is the best. Lab reports every week, but they're easy to do and he's only preparing you for what you'll find in higher chemistry courses. Explains the entire process before lab, gives crystal clear instructions on what to put in the lab report, and drops your lowest lab report grade. Really cool guy who really cares about his students.
This guy is a lazy bum. He grades like a nazi. He told me not to drop my class and that I would make an A but then decided to give me a B cause I was like 89%. His directions aren't clear, and has a hick accent.
This guy is so much fun in class. He doesn't teach anything. Grades so easy. Easy A. Just like that. I have a 2.0 GPA right now, but his A helped me keep my scholarship. Thank you Lado.
His exams are different than what is covered in the lab book. He scribbles a lot on the board. And his accent is crazy. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Had to put in a lot of work to get an A in his class.
I enjoyed him. He said exactly what to do in each lab and was extremely helpful. His tests are hard but coincide with what goes on in the labs. Pay attention to his pre-lab lectures. He walks you through the procedure and all of the math exactly as it will be on the quizzes and test. Fun guy
Easy on lab reports and quizzes and posts help for labs on moodle. Very helpful in lab. Always talks fast and loudly. Midterm and final come straight from lab reports but are hard. Doesn't make eye contact with students ever!!!! Also posts grades online but does not show overall grade
Super nice, lab reports every week but grades easily, gives you exact study guides and very easy to approach.
He is pretty easy and awesome. Do good work and come to class everyday, you will make an A. bus is hard, not easy at all.
He is a great teacher! He explained things well in class and if you still didn't understand, he was available after class or in his office. He tells you exactly what is on the tests and does not count against you for attendance. However, if you want to make an A in the class, it's best you go everyday because there is alot of material.
Dr. Tino is a great professer. His pre-lab lectures are precise, clear, and informative. He gives experiment helps for each of his experiments to help you with your lab reports. If you go to his office he will explain everything in detail, very helpful.
Midterm and Final are extremely hard! Lab reports due every week unlike some of the other chem lab teachers. Is willing to help but expects you to know and doesn't make directions clear... Honestly he made me feel dumb when I didn't know a few of the labs. Quizzes are okay but must know all formulas and how to use them!
He is very hard to understand. He goes to fast, well be two chapters ahead before test. Goes well off topic a lot, he is also very scattered around. Hand writing very hard to read
Dr. Tino is a great teacher!! He is very thorough in his explanations and is willing to help you on lab reports. I would take him again in a heartbeat and strongly recommend taking him!
He's sometimes hard to understand, he goes ahead into the next topic and starts skipping around which was confusing while trying to take notes. His board notes are confusing as well. His test you have to study for along with the quiz grades. He's a nice guy though helpful wise. He curves your overall grade if your at a close call.
He is a great lab teacher. He is nice and you can come by his office to have your lab report checked. His experimental helps and notes will help you on the quizzes, midterm, and final. He makes it clear on what he wants on the lab report and emails you when there is going to be a quiz and what videos to watch for the next lab.
Tino is a character. Lectures a lot and notes are very scattered but test questions are straight forward. No homework only test and quiz grades. You have to study but if you know the material you should finish with an A. (it's a 4 hour credit so study hard)
Dr. Tino is amazing. I took him for Forensics (only for Criminal Justice and Chemistry majors), which its only offered every fall semester. Beware, take pictures of the slides cuz hell go too fast. He will help you if dont understand something. Quizzes/homework are on Moodle. Other than that, he is very sweet and caring.
Hes a good professor. I loved him for my Chem107 course. I dont even have a problem with having a Friday morning class because hes so good! Lots of bonuses. Quizzes are easy and simple. Lectures are clear and understanding. Take him. You wont regret it.
Dr. Tino is a great professor for lab; he made labs quick and reasonable. Had Chem lab 2:00-4:50 and I didn't leave that class later than 3:30 all semester. He's a tough grader on labs, but he makes it very clear what he wants/how he wants it. Need an easy chem lab that you can get out of early & only have to put the bare minimum work in? Take tino
Dr. Tino is a really good chemistry professor. He takes the time to make powerpoint narrations or videos on the material to help you better understand it. His lectures are a bit scattered but you get used to it and can figure out whats important. The tests come from notes, pp narrations, and homework. If you practice and study you'll do well!
Dr. Santino is a great teacher and is willing to help you if you have any questions or need help with the assignments. His study guides are straight forward. Go to class, do the experiments, and complete the quizzes online and you will do fine. He gives you an entire week to complete everything, so there is no excuses to fail his class.
Beginning of semester was fine, layout was clear. As the semester progressed he started making more mistakes, lectures were unclear and didn't really answer student's questions. Very nice guy, though
Good professor. No easy A. He is caring but you have to work hard!!!
Dr. Santino was clearly very intelligent, but I struggled to learn the content in his class. When I emailed him and asked to set up an appointment for help, he never answered my email. I ended up having to drop the class. If you take him, make sure you take notes and practice as much as you can outside of class. Good luck passing if you hate Chem!!
Met three times a week, every lecture took the full amount of time allotted, and he never missed a day of class. Lots of note taking and learning/studying outside of the classroom. Dr. Tino himself was a pretty good professor but make sure you're taking notes and showing up to class, or you won't do well.
he is an easy grader. if you do good on the lab reports you should do fine. the lab reports are 50% of grade while the test are only 30%
