Can't admit when she's wrong. Very rude. Trick questions on exams. No extra credit. No homework. No curve. Class average on first test was 63 - she said that was good. 1 A, 5 Bs - many 40s. Picks favorites.
Don't take unless you intend to teach your self. Only two students passed first exam. The average was a 47. The lectures don't match the tests. Tests are like homework which she doesn't show how to do?
OK...let's be honest PBCC dont have good chem prof. and Org. Chem. is a hard class and it takes lot of studing. Dr Gupta is one of the best that we have, she explains everything and goes out of her way to help her students, chm2211L is an easy A. If you take it with her just do what she says and you be fine.
we are in intro to chem. and she "teaches" us what general chem. students are learning. you have to teach yourself, which is extremely hard. she is useless. her tests are ridiculous. she is terrible. half the class has dropped.
I started out thinking it was not going to be challenging, that was until I saw the first test grade and average a D... If you intend on passing you have to have a tutor. She never finishes example problems which make it hard to study from. I think with a tutor, lots of studying and the math lab you might pass. But not easy at all.
She is a nice person but she explains things half way and then wants you to figure out the rest. Spend half my time learning on my own. She doesn't go over quizes or homework thoroughly so we can figure out what we did wrong. Most of the class is failing with just the final left to take. Don't take this class unless you are an o chem genius...
She gets impatient if you don't understand something so noone wants to ask questions. Don't take her if you can help it
face it there is no easy chm teacher in lake worth. if u're lazy don't take her you'll fail with an f-. you don't have to be a geniusin just follow her instruction. make sure to go the comp lab for help and you'll do fine.
She's is by far the worst teacher I have ever had. She uses a completely diffferent book, she doesn't teach material very well, and she failed our whole class.. Instead of TRYING to help the class pass. Don't take her ever!!! You won't pass unless you don't have a job, live with your parents, and stay home to study every night. DON'T TAKE HER!!
Please listen to the other postings on this website!! Our class average a 47.. 1A. She let the whole class fail!! She knew from the very begginig we were not understanding her teachig method, but she continue to yeah out of a diff book and watch us fail. She's horrible and you will not pass OR have an easy time trying. TUTORS WONT HELP!!!don't take
One of the worst teachers ever, very rude, and has no idea what she was doing. She would have to go ask other professors about what to do. During high risk labs she would walk out and do god knows what while we handled acids or high temp fire. Please do not take her you shall get a C at the very least if you're the average person and have a life.
doesnt help too much ...most test are multiple choice...there werent too many organic chem tutors at the school...your on your own
I have been studying my whole life, and this is the worst professor ever. I have a MBA with a 3.7 GPA, I got straight A's in my bachelor's so I have the experience to say do not take this class with her. she does not teach what is on the exams, she wants you to fail, more than 80% of the class fail, and she still thinks this is the student's fault.
Awful professor! I never missed a class and studied a lot and still had to withdraw even though i'm passing the lab with an A. She only puts a few questions on each exam and it involves a lot of hard math, while other professors that teach this class do multi-choice exams. Not recommended....
Professors are there to teach and help students in their education; However, Gupta is there to ridicule and make fun of her students while they are failing. If you ask her for extra credits, she will tell you "'in your dreams' because she has stuborn, unflexible, unfair rule of hers."
She is the worst professor I ever had in my academic life. Her test are impossible. I am a A student, but you will still fail even though you study very hard. She is inflexible. She gives you a manual of how to be a good student, but she should have one of how to be a good professor. schools ruin their reputation with professors like these.
She lectures at one level and tests at a higher level. Awful experience. I do not understand how the school has a professor like her. She is the type of professor that get her students unmotivated, no matter how hard you try or study, you will not do well. The school has to do something about her. They should not allow it. It is so unfair.
I've been in college for years, this is by far the worst teacher I've ever had. Rude to students, very unorganized when she teaches, no help at all, and puts you down if you ask questions. Test are impossible to pass, you need to devote your life to chemistry in order to pass. Basically study 10 hours a day or more!
Chemistry is hard. This does not matter with what professor you take the class. You have to dedicate a lot of time to the class. I have a MBA, I have not taken chemistry in 15 years. Dr. Gupta, wants to challenge you. Her tests are hard, but she is willing to help you. You have to study hard.
She should be hired. Simply, the worst professor ever. She does not realize she is not teaching in India, she is teaching in America. Her methods are old, and uneffective. When most of your class fail a exam this is not the student's fault. She does not realize how bad professor she is. She treats her stdents like they were in midle school.
The comments from other schools and PBCC are negative. I estimate that 98% of the comments are bad. Her test are extremelly dificult, and sometimes you do not have time to go over your work, or you do not have time to finish it. One hour for 22 questions that are mosttly calculations. real life is not like that. The worst professor I have ever had.
She has tought in 3 different schools in the last three- four years years. This is not a good indication.I do not understant how the school allows to have a professor that is highly critized, and where most of the students fail. They should evaluate her testing methods. No enough time, and some questions on the test are impossible.
Tests 1 & 2 were ok. However, test 3 was impossible to get a good grade on. She relies on the textbook but does not provide enough examples in class. No opportunity for extra credit. Would not advise taking her. This is coming from someone who has a bachelors degree.
Her tests are impossible. If you kill yourself studying you can get a C. Getting a A or a B is pretty much impossible. This comment is coming from someone with a bachelor's degree. A total GPA of 3.9 that has never got a C in his life. Mostly A's and a juts a few B's. The worst professor ever.
The worst professor ever after several years in college. Rude to students. She teaches at one level, and test at a much higher level.Exercses on the book are not similar to the ones on the exam, and to the ones given in the class. She has a nasty attitude. She should not be a professor. All the comments are negative.
She is going to be fired soon. The worst professor I have ever had. Nasty attitude. Her tests are ridiculus. please do not take her class you will regret it!
SHe is horrible and very picky for her labs..You must know EVERY explanations to EVERYTHING!!! everytime I think i write a very good lab it comes back with a F..and i NEVER failed a class before. Now i have to retake this class again in the summer..i wish i never took her
Awful and depressing experience!! You will definitely regret taking a class with her!!
Professor Gupta should be FIRED. Do not take her unless you want to dedicate your life to organic and then STILL fail. You cannot pass an exam that you were not prepared for. Her lectures are irreverent nonsense compared to the level of difficulty you see on her beyond impossible exams. You are better off at FAU. That's how bad it really IS.
Gupta is a poor excuse for a professor. How she has managed to stay employed is beyond me. I have never experience such an inadequate professor. I find it extremely difficult to even address her with such a title. Avoid her at all cost. She should be working in a lab synthesizing chemicals and having no contact with the human race! You'll be sorry
This teacher had horrible reviews when i took her for a summer class. I took a year of OChem with her in 8 weeks...and she was GREAT. She did things very systematically...If you didnt understand something in class, she was more than happy to answer questions in class or in office hours. GAVE EXTRA CREDIT. If you show an interest in learning you
This fall semester the organic chemistry class a very hard course started with 30 students. Now, it's close to the finals and 9 students still in my class that's counting me too. All the 9 students there is left did ask for extra credit and she said no.
THE WORST TEACHER YOU COULD EVER HAVE FOR GEN CHM LAB. AVOID TAKING HER LAB CLASS BY ANY MEANS. TAKE IT ANOTHER SEMSETER IF YOU HAVE TO .SHE GRADES RIDICULOUSLY. IT DOESNT MATTER IF YOU KNOW THE CONTENT. IF THATS NOT THE ANSWER SHE WANTS ON THE REPORT ... WRONNNGGG -___- BE WISE . DONT TKE HER !!
She is a good professor of a very difficult subject. I have made a high A in every class prior to her organic chemistry class. If you are taking organic chemistry, you are doing so to learn organic chemistry, not to pad your GPA. The lecture moved a too fast at times, and the lab was very difficult, but she wasn't rude. Its just a hard class.
horrible experience. She goes too fast. Very sarcastic at times. Class was supposed to start at 8am but she always starts 5 mins earlier or whenever she pleases and gives you attitude if you are two seconds late. I regret taking her. dont waste your time. Anyone can do better than her at teaching
When we started Organic I, we had about 30 students. When we finished, there were 7. There also wasn't an SI, which compounded the problem. Lets face it, organic chemistry is hard. Don't blame the professor if you don't devote enough time to the class. If you want to pass then stop whining and start studying.
Please don't let negative comments dissuade you from taking her! She is an amazing teacher and incredibly underrated, but is willing to devote time to study sessions and gives supplemental study material. Only a few passed the class, but those who failed admitted that it was due to their own study habits, and not a measure of her teaching ability.
this class was the worst experience. she is really a horrible teacher. she goes way too fast, assigns way too much homework, and her tests are very difficult. i had to drop this class but when i retook it with emma chow, I got an A, no problem.
organic chemistry is a hard subject. so be willing to devote time into studying. she is great with students who show initiative to learn. if you are looking for an easy A, take someone else.
Dr. Gupta is a great teacher. She is knowledgeable in chemistry. Gupta is always in a good mood and loves eager student. However, her class is not going to be easy, but if you study and practice, I'm sure you will receive a good grade in her classroom. Take her class!
She constantly reminds students of the difficulty of that part of chemistry.Gives very little time to take test (1h15min) for a 3 pg test with about half involving calculations where one is required to show all working. She is more concerned about teaching and not if students actually pass and with good grades. An A grade is almost not a guarantee.
She is by far the worst professor at the school, doesnt care bout whether you learn, treats u like an idiot when u ask a question, the only reason i passed is cause i took AP Chem in high school, and don't be fooled by the positive assesments of her, it's obvious she is posting those herself...
highly not recommended...!!the worst teacher on the campus. don't go by the positive comments of her, she is extremely hard. moreover she will show you attitude or insult you if you call her professor OR miss gupta instead of "Dr.Gupta". If you are Asian than highly not Recommended. She is too hard to pass.
She is kind woman but sucks at teaching. Most things she goes over in class is not even on the test! As for the final you have to read the whole book and memorize it and hope for the best. I use to enjoy Chem till I had her. Don't take her if you want to actually learn and have a better understanding of Chemistry.
Had gupta for lab. Teacher is rude, very unhelpful, and quite stubborn. She is knowledgeable in the material, and gives a short lecture at the beginning of lab, but other than that offers no help when you ask questions. Majority of class fails labs. And I have a decent 3.4 GPA. Lady is on a power trip!
She is a good teacher who's quick but clear at teaching. She will give you good examples and fair tests, I din't even used my book that much. She is a good teacher for both chem and chem lab.
I usually wouldn't take my time to rate someone, but her teaching methods are horrible. I'm currently taking Organic chem 1 lab from her and this class is ridiculous. Her grading system contradicts itself, she requires all lab reports to be typed and formatted in her own personal preference, not based upon organic chem protocol. Pass her by...!!!
I had her for chemistry lecture. She isn't as bad as her reviews are saying. Here's an unbiased point of you of her teaching method: she goes exactly over what will be on get tests. Unfortunately, she shows you easy examples in class but gives harder test questions. She offers her help during her office hours. If you like chemistry, you'll be fine
If you would like to spend the money and teach yourself, take dr. gupta. Her teaching methods isnt teaching at all, its telling you what you should know or need to learn before you come to class. Not helpful with questions and seems to care less about students clarity of material.
Honestly, it was a lab class and u do what u need to do n u'll now what to do because she'll make u do a summary before every lab so u'll be fine and they're easy i definitely recommend her. for final exam for lab is okay, not too hard but it will be a good summary, u'll end up with an A in lab course anyway. she is a nice lady.
Don't waste your time on this class. You're basically teaching yourselves. If you ask a question, she will either laugh at you or turn your question into another one instead of answering. Gives too many worksheets that she barely goes over I got an A because I took chemistry in high school .take someone else if you want a good teacher and an easy A
Horrible Lectures, good luck copying any scribble she writes down! This is a self taught class! She expects you to review upcoming material and learn on your own. Studied for hrs on end and only ended up with a C. Only four passed the class. On top of that she assigns sapling online hw. It takes hours and is horrible for online chemistry.
worst teacher ever, she's rude and nasty.
I took Professor Gupta for two classes, and immediately realized that if i wanted to pass i would have to teach myself. She is very unreasonable and has a terrible teaching method, i do not recommend anyone taking this class.
She should gather all the professors at pbsc and teach them how to teach. Amazing person. Just show your work and you will find a good result. She is a lot better than any other professor at pbsc. If you can take her don't hesitate. Loved her class.
I took her for lab which is a straight forward class already. She does get slick sometimes. Show up to class and actually put an effort into your work and passing shouldn't be a problem since some of the answers you can google. Downside to taking her is there is a final in the lab
Dr. Gupta is an awesome professor. She is one of a FEW professors at PBSC who actually teaches the material. The class is really hard. Get ready to study and do a lot of HW. Dr. Gupta is very knowledgeable, she wants her students to learn and to be succusseful. Take her class if you want to really learn chemistry.
This is a good class, but it's not easy. Though there isn't an excuse for you to get less than a B. Don't expect it to be a breeze, you need to dedicate at least 3-4 hours a week to studying and homework. The lectures, homework, and optional extra material online cover everything for the tests, if you study you'll be prepared.
She might be the fastest chemistry teacher in PBSC. She covers 10 chapters in 16 weeks, and tests are brutal. She takes of points from every little mistakes. Half of the class withdrew the class, and I assume only handful of people will pass the class. Just trust the rating here, and look for another professor.
Dr. Gupta is a great professor! She can be hard at times and expect you to know things but she really does want her students to learn. I had her for 2210L & taking her for 2211 lecture and lab. Just write your lab reports the way her example is that she gives you and you will for sure get an A. Also study the lab manuals before class for the quiz.
If you looking for an easy A stop thinking your going to Medical school. She is a great professor and her teaching style will get anyone prepared for the MCAT,PCAT, DAT etc Go to class and do that thing called STUDYING! Attend the SI sessions if you can. The SI really help!
One of the worst professors I've taken yet. Barely goes over the lab for 5 minutes and pretty says good luck.
Surprisingly simple class. I did horribly in GC 1, but the materials Gupta provides are extremely helpful. Shes also a lot nicer than the reviews would make you think. In-person is supposedly harder. HW and quizzes for each chapter, and 4 exams+final. Timers are a bit tight, so you never really have time to double check answers. Don't need book.
she has a whole youtube channel for chem lectures. Her test aren't super hard and has plenty of homework and quizzes to help your grade if you dont do great on the tests. for an online class it can be hard to keep up sometimes, if you miss a test she has a make up test right before the final. Take this professor if you want to pass chem 2!
Dr. Gupta is one of my favorite professors. She's SO knowledgeable about the subject and will help you with anything, while making sure you learn the material to the best of her ability. There is a simple lab summary, a set of pre/post lab questions, and the lab report due each class, but it's all easy stuff if you pay attention. Loved this lab!
She is a very tough grader. Get on her good side, crack jokes with her, and ask how she's doing every class. I learned if you do that, then she tends to grade more lenient. Her lab hw nearly killed me. Took me 4 hours to finish the hw every week. I got a B but I should have gotten an A, but it's all good. If you're semi-lazy don't take her lab
I hated the quizzes. One wrong is an 80. The homework is very beneficial. If you have any questions just email her and she will help. Take the extra credit opportunities there are a lot of them, you may need it. As long as you study, you will get an A. I personally think a book is not needed for the online class. Everything is in the powerpoint.
Okay So tbh this proff doesnt really lecture, she gives out worksheets called powerpoint notes and you have to do them at home and any questions you have the following class she will go over. i mean yess its a good way to study but at the same time she basically only teach off the questions we have, so get ready to basically teach your self :l
Please if you want to pass organic this is not the Professor for you! Her teaching method is ridiculous . You basically have to go home and teach yourself.. I would only take this class if im only taking this class and the lab b/c trust me you wont be able to balance her work load with other classes , b/c u literally have to teach yourself
She not a very nice person. She can come off as sarcastic. I suggest taking a different professor if you can.
She is very hard! You need to dedicate at least 50% percent of your time in school just in this class! LOTS OF HOMEWORK! Good knowledge but be ready for this class! Time consuming
doesn't lecture. you have to study and do the work and come to class and you guys talk about it. I honestly did horrible on my tests but I never quit. Take advantage of the extra credit she gives alot. I look up the material on youtube for better explanations because it helps. Wish I did that in the beginning. I Would have an "A" most definitely!!
Takes points off of HW because she doesnt feel like reading the answer you wrote You will have to argue with her over it being correct and show it to her before she will rescind the removed points If youre more than 10 minutes late she wont let you into class and will give you a 0 for many of the attendance and participation points you need to pass
Orgo 1 lab: she says if you do all the homework and labs and follow directions, you will get an A. WRONG. Shes rude, definitely not understanding, shes not fun or nice, says one thing and does another. Her labs were organized and went smoothly but thats about it and you have suffer for it by everything else she does. Avoid taking if possible.
easy class just don't miss homework or quizzes
DONT TAKE HER! You have to teach yourself. You have to take notes at home and then do the hw that goes with it, so if you dont understand the not youre not gonna understand the hw. Shes rude for no reason and will get mad if you ask too many questions shell make you feel bad for not understanding. Theres something seriously wrong with her :/
I suggest taking another professor if you can. Its not worth it I needed Orgo 1 for my degree but Im barely passing and Im doing all the work I study hard for the tests and it seems like its for nothing. Shes not helpful whatsoever. Im definitely going to a diff campus next semester. It sucks that theres not many options for good teachers
Worst professor at pbsc. Take someone else or go to a different campus. Seems like she loves giving bad grades like it makes her feel powerful. Had 5 mental breakdowns in this class. Shes not worth the stress. She brought my 4.0 gpa down
She is such a difficult teacher. She has a bad attitude and has a sarcastic personality. She knows what shes talking about but cant teach us anything.
Horrible!!!! Dont take this professor she doesnt know how to explain anything she expects you to know it all and exams are super hard.
Professor Gupta has a website for CHM1045 which provides worksheets, powerpoints, and videos of problems being worked out which are called pencasts. Additionally, she provides in-class worksheets which she works out with her students . There is a lot of work but it is all easy.
This professor should be your absolute last resort! She's not very good with explaining, she's very sarcastic, and can come off rude. Ask her questions on how to improve the assignments in the beginning of the semester. I did and I ended up with an A. Her lab was hard work & time consuming, I can't image her lecture class. Stay on her good side!
I didn't appreciate how easy her examples were in the lecture compared to the tests. I found the tests to be really difficult. Everyone in my class failed the first test which was discouraging. Luckily most people improved during the semester. I recommend going to her office hrs & asking ques. She is helpful under that sarcastic facade...
As for a lab professor, she is great. She is very clear on her grading criteria. When it comes to the lab reports you must strictly follow her ex. of a lab report. It is an easy A if you pay attention & make notes on what's happening in the lab. She gives a short lecture before the lab and it is very helpful as to clarifying what we'll be doing!
Im sorry if you have to take her. Also, if she doesnt like you, good luck passing! Horrible grading system. Never updates grades and when she does, its not accurate bc she doesnt use blackboard. Try and find a different professor. Shes sarcastic, a tough grader that gives horrible feedback, and her work doesnt reflect her lectures. Just bad!!
WHAT TO KNOW: requires a lot of work outside class: will expect you to study the subject before class and do the HW for that (due at the end of every class), in class she will go over the subject briefly and work on problems. HW due every class and online due b4 exams, Quizzes, 1 make up exam, 3 exams and 1 cumulative final. Xtra credit available
WHAT TO KNOW 2: good professor overall, but be aware you will have to work a lot outside class. For CHM1045 you will need to buy a $30 book only. She will replace your lowest exam score with the make up exam (on 80% of chapters). As a person (does this matter?) she can be sassy but not rude, don't take it personally and don't be late to class ; )
the worse professor ever. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!
This is my first time giving a professor a bad review so this says a lot. She gives a lot of work and is a horrible grader by that I mean she will grade my work without telling me what I did wrong. Students in the class avoid asking her question as she expects us to already know what she's teaching. I will not let my worse enemy take her class.
AVOID AT ALL COST. If you have to take her, I wish you luck. Dr. Gupta has tremendous expectations for you to learn everything she teaches about chemistry. There is very little room for error. She gives ridiculous amounts of work and grades them very harshly. Just a terrible experience. Take a regular chemistry course and honorize it.
Dr. Gupta is an okay lab instructor. The labs werent hard but dealing with her as a professor was VERY stressful. This woman is not clear about anything (lab reports). When students ask her a question she never gives a direct answer. Instead shed rather write in hieroglyphics and have you decipher her message. So stressful. But she's not that bad

Although we butted heads a lot this semester, Dr. Gupta is actually caring and want students to pass. I had some issues with her with lack of communication and expectations regarding lab reports, but nothing too major. She offered extra points for doing course evaluations and tries to be fair when grading lab reports. I would recommend her for lab
Keep her on her good side. Outside of lectures we read powerpoint videos to take notes on, then expand on those notes in class. I think it's an effective learning strategy. At least 1 assignment once a week to help retain what you learned. Honors version of this course adds Honor work each exam. If you feel and stay confident, you'll pass.
I don't know how she is for lecture but she was great for lab. Grading criteria for lab reports were very upfront and easy. She helps during lab, as well as the TA's. The lab was partially online and in person. Lab reports were very easy, but she can be a tough grader. I recommend her for lab (but idk about lecture since I didn't take her for it)
Caring . Would not recommend. Orgo chem is obviously not an essay course to take and requires all your time. No matter how long you spend studying, practicing worksheets, in her office hours, using chegg, & reading the textbook you will fail. The class started with around 12 students , 3 dropped and 8 made an F in lecture. Waste of money & time.
LAB:Too strict. Particular about everything. Points deducted for: neatness, lack of stapling, submission of multiple pdfs for one assignment (submitted one pdf for the front page one for the back apparently that's unacceptable). Assumes you are a professional lab tech for basic chem. never available for help, recommends a tutor instead. short fuse.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! Terrible. Very slick in the mouth and expects you to already know when you go to her for HELP. Very unorganized. Tough grader. Literally takes points off for anything. Gives lots of work for a lab class. Also makes it very uncomfortable for you to ask her for help because of her attitude and need to hurry and leave.
She does make you buy a textbook that she created, a print out of PowerPoints, study sheets, homework assignments and such. She does not put these up on canvas so in order to get the points you need the books. Her study sheets are extra credit. She is hard to understand sometimes and does not go in-depth on problems. Not savvy with canvas yet.
I had her for chem 2 lab and I can say she is a tough grader on everyone. I would suggest staying on her good side and trying to make conversation with her. When you would ask for her help, she would normally make you figure it out yourself. Take another professor who does not mind helping you succeed.
Teacher has us purchase her $60 book that she sells. Book is needed for the course because the homework is in her book. Teacher is an extreme harsh grader, very strict and does not compromise with anything. Would never recommend this professor! Worst experience I have ever had in an online course, Save yourself the headache, it's not worth it!
Absolutely horrid; you will learn more chemistry in a middle school
DONT TAKE HER, most of these reviews are 100% accurate. Shes annoying, and doesnt take late work. Personally the course isnt very hard, shes just not a good teacher.
Questionable teaching method that doesnt work for everyone. Very nice and tries her best to get you to understand.
Worst experience of my life. I was ridden with anxiety the whole semester barely passing with a C. Had to drop another class because the amount of homework she gave took up all my time. She is unreasonable and she does not give clear feedback and is never available for assistance outside & inside class. I am very sadden by her attitude and rudeness
She is nice but her teaching methods wont work if you also have a job that consumes time. Wants you to teach yourself the lesson before going to class which i didn't have time for because i have a job and the time i spend inside the class is the only time i have to learn the material. Doesn't take late work and is confusing when hw is due
This professor is very good for lab, labs were nice and easy all you have to do is the calculations after
Dr. Gupta opened my eyes to what lab really is. While she is a tough grader and expects nothing but the best, she prepares you for lab will be like at a 4-year school. She is willing to work with you and provides feedback on reports. I feel more confident in my understanding of what lab will be like at my next school. I recommend Dr. Gupta.
Be prepared to do A LOT of self teaching. I would not recommend this class to anyone who has never done dimensional analysis before, so either learn it before you take this class, or be prepared to use a tutor to help you understand this concept as it's used in almost every lengthy calculation. There are too many "powerpoint study sheets" to turn in
Prof. Gupta's lectures are rushed, unclear, and poorly organized, often canceling classes for personal reasons. The required course materials have tiny fonts, forcing reliance on online resources. There's more interest in making money off students than teaching effectively, and I am eagerly awaiting the end of this course.
You can expect ~4 assignments each week, which are doable in a day to be fair, she is an understanding professor when you contact her beforehand, just dont procrastinate and be prepared for lab.
I only passed because she had to change the grading criteria last minute because so many of us were failing. Listen to the negative reviews, you won't pass unless you've had her from chem 1. Rude communication, never helpful, and always accused you of cheating. Also told us not to go to tutoring and just email her, but she never responds to emails.
Be prepared to wait because she leaves the lab for 15-20 minutes at a time so if you have questions, you just have to wait. Cares more about your grammar and formatting of lab reports than the actual science. Extremely hard grader.
All of your efforts will mean nothing because she's the toughest grader. She grades against you with a million "why" marks across your lab report. She'll say go left, you'll go left and then she'll say I said right. Do yourself a favor and take someone, anyone else!!! I got an A but I committed way too much while sacrificing my other courses.
I'm telling you right now..PLEASE do NOT take this teacher. Absolute worst class I have ever taken. She is extremely condescending. She does not reply to emails. She is not organized with her due dates. Gives absolutely NO useful feedback. When you ask for feedback, she gives a condescending answer. Has absolutely no regard for students situations.
Prof. Gupta's teaching methods are hit-or-miss, but unstuck AI can be a helpful study tool. Stay on her good side and use all available resources to succeed.
I was surprised by the bad reviews since Professor Gupta is the best teacher I've ever had. I struggled with chemistry in high school and barely passed, but with her, I got an A in both CHM2045 and CHM2046. She explains things so well using metaphors and real examples instead of just reading from a textbook. She actually makes chemistry make sense!
Don't take her she says asks questions but when ask makes your feel dumb and put you on the spotlight. She is rude but the lab itself is not hard just do the assignments and you'll be good regardless of her.
She will tell you one thing and then punishing you for doing it. She'll downplay her mistakes and make you feel bad for coming to her to correct her frequent errors. She does not follow her own syllabus and you will find it hard to finish any of her exams on time. You will never know your real grade as she refuses to use canvas's gradebook. Avoid.
This professor was very disorganized. The only reason I earned an A was due to my strong background knowledge, not the course structure. Time on test were NEVER enough and for the whole semester it was an issue. Webcam and Lockdown on test and she genuinely just did not care about her class this semester. Find another professor.
