I feel like she's just reading of the book headlines when lecturing and then we do our homework during class. I could just as well read the book myself, class is a waste of time. I'd learn more if she was more involved and coached our writing.

Take notes on the powerpoints that she goes over every single class. The study guide info is straight from the notes. Tests are all multiple choice, fill-ins, and very short answers. Really good teacher. Nice, funky, mellow. Class is never stressful.

TAKE THIS CLASS! my first online class, not bad at all. for the most part pretty easy, straightforward, but still informative. not overly time consuming. brewer is quick to answer your q's over e-mail.

Prof. Brewer is very straight forward and to the point. The class is so easy if you just study the notes she gives you in class. You don't even need to open the book. She is very fair and the class is really interesting.

Very easy class because it's so straightforward. Drawback: there's lots and lots of writing to do in the discussion, sometimes a required 2,700 words per week (6 x 450 words each)! But tests are soo easy, esp. b/c there's a review. Take good notes though--tests are pure memorization, no analysis.

Really nice, young and modern professor. Need to take tons of notes during her daily lectures. Must memorize a lot of information for her exams, which aren't that easy...but if you attend class, copy her lectures and STUDY...you'll do fine. Enjoyable class!

Sara is hot! Don't take her online class, cause then you won't get to hang out w/ her. She seems alot easier than she is though, so watch out. She is real chill, but if you don't do the work she won't pass you. I still want to party with her and I took her class 3 years ago.

She is not an easy A. Though her teaching structure is very basic: lectures,reviews,exams. It is on you to pass the class with an A. The material is not that hard neither complicated. So you will do fine. she is a MUST take.

great class. easy, practical...The only thing u should be aware of is the points and the grade system she uses. U can get an A for sure, but that depends on your consistency, discipline, and responsability in turning in every single disccussion, activity, quiz, exams, and midterms.

Amazingly insightful class into the media as we know it. Weekly essays that prod students to think deeper opens up your head into a lot of what we're learning about. First-rate, highly recommended, and has made me reconsider changing my minor to Communications.

Sara is dope. She's a young, spunky teacher with a lot to offer her students. I'll tell you this, it is not an easy class. You have to read! Hands down, it was my most enjoyable class at SMC.

I loved this class! She organized her notes on a powerpoint presentation it made note taking easy. I did not read the book at all... but I took good notes, had perfect attendence, and studied hard so i got an A. Also, there are weekly essays and quizzes which can be a pain but they aren't hard. This class has increased my intrest for the subject!

I took her online course. The course was so easy. in the 16-17 week course. Every week,You get 5 point for a 450 word essay/disscusion, 5 pts for the text book quest, and 5pt for the quiz on fri or sat. Midterm and final are fill-in.

This class was a delight. The professor was friendly and helpful, and the work was demanding but manageable. I learned quite a lot from this class; it convinced me to pursue business as a major!

Sara is one of the best teachers in the communications department. She formats her lectures in an easy to follow format. Sara stops the lecture to make sure that all students understand the course. Sara cares for each students success. Highly Recommended!

This teacher is very respectful of others, and very sweet. It was fun taking her class and the work wasn't very hard. If you studied exactly what was on the study guides you are guaranteed an A. I studied my butt off for the final and I got my A! She's a great teacher.

I took Professor Brewer's online class during summer session. The work was extensive, but interesting. Professor Brewer was readily available for feedback and the course was clear. I recommend Prof. Brewer's online class to anyone. You will learn alot, and if you can keep up with the pace of the lessons you stand a good chance at getting an A.

I enrolled in the online version of this course. She covers 1 chapter per week. There is an essay (450 word count), media activity (VERY easy) and the discussion questions from that chapter due every week. I spend one afternoon per week on her class and get everything done. 1 5 minute 5 question quiz once a week, most of them are very easy!

Highly recommend! Took online. Comprised of one 250 word media activity, one 250 word discussion posting, one 25 or so chapter review questions, and one five minute five question quiz due every Sunday with one comprehensive midterm and final. Took around three hours weekly and was engaged, interesting, informative, &fun. Take her!

Great and a great teacher. I took her online over winter and found the class very interesting and her very sweet. the 5 minute quizes are so easy (open to the glossary) and the discussions and media activity are fun an easy. its an easy going class and she is very helpful.

Prepare your flashcards! Her tests are no joke, but they are 100% out of her lectures, which you type during class on computers in the class room. She is the best lecturer I have ever had, and will bend over backwards for her students to succeed. Just study your flashcards and you're perfect.

A lot of writing involved around 1200 words a week but very interesting topics and quizzes are not too difficult. I enjoyed the class and got an A. What more can you ask for?

There are weekly quizzes and essays in the class. Also there are 2 tests, a midterm, and a final exam. She gives out study guides for all of her tests, so that really helps with studying. Great professor and great class.

I took the online class with Professor Brewer and she makes it an interesting class, a quiz and two discussions every week which are pretty easy even if you haven't fully read the assigned chapter. She makes the class personal and fun. If you do all the assignments it's an easy A.

Easy A. Learned nothing. Hot, friendly teacher, but class is just students posting their opinions about stuff. You don't need to read the text (which is very good) because the 5 question quiz gives enough time to look up the answers in the book without reading it. Very organized class. A good reading/typing 10yr old could easily get an A.

She is extremely nice, extremely helpful. Class is not as challenging as I would have like. Discussion questions in the online class don't encourage debate or a lively back and forth of varying points of view and fall flat of what the subject and the online format can offer. She is a joy though, passionate, so wish it had been a bit more engaging.

It's an easy and informative class. She is very nice and can be fun, but the class is boring in general. She lectures the exact same things from her Powerpoint on which we need to take notes. All the classes are about hand copying her powerpoint and do some plain easy activities.

She is super nice and helpful. She is always in a good mood and is crystal clear with directions. There's no textbook but take notes of her power point presentations because she does her exams based on them. There are also some activities that are interesting and small quizzes that are not hard at all.

Great course for first-yearnon-traditional students. Lectures and tests are clear. Weekly assignments require critical thinking but not too bad and are very informative. Professor Brewer makes this online class a breeze as long as you are willing to put the time in. As a 6 week class it will require a lot of your time, but probably not if taken in the fallspring. Overall amazing class, and if your smart enough you can do the whole class without reading the chapters.

Awesome class! Highly recommended. Easy class but also very informative. The only way you can not do well is if you forget to complete assignments or do bad on the test which are fairly easy. Do expect a lot of writing responses but the topics are interesting to write about so it is a breeze.

I didn't think the book is necessary at all, even though she said it was. If you take it online, all of the definitions can be found through researching them on Google. The class was an easy A if you do all of the work on time. She's so understanding and if necessary, she'll find ways to help you get work done if something unexpected comes up.

Pretty easy class. Just make sure you read literally every discussion questions, activity questions, and the quiz involves the book. Discussion, Activity, and Quiz are always due within a week. Quiz is only 5mins long for 5 question, I would say to be honest not enough time considering I like to go check the book. Other than that easy class.

I took Her media 1 hybrid class and it was easy, just do all of your discussions and your peer reviews and also study for the 5 question 5 minute quizzes and you should pass. Professor Brewer's Media 1 class was a lot of fun, as well as informative. The midterm and final are material we actually covered, so study and you'll be fine. The assignments are easy to follow and simple. Sometimes we did small group projects, but they were awesome. She's a really nice and funny person, this made the class even better.

Very clear on what she expects of students. She communicates regularly and updates everyone when there is something going on. As for the class itself, each week consists of a short quiz based on the chapter, a discussion, and an activity. All of these are easy. If you just do the assignments, then you should be able to get a good grade.

Midterm and final is easy- she gives you a word bank of terms and you fill in the blank. Do the work, fulfill her criteria and you'll get an A. I learned a lot from this professor. She is a very influential and kind hearted. She is unbiased and open to every students opinions. She is very understanding about personal problems and will work with you. However, it does not mean you can take advantage of it. It was an honor to be her student and I will be seeing here in the Fall.

Personally loved this professor. She's relatable and down to earth but you must show up to every class or else you will be dropped. Write down everything in the lectures and you'll be good to go. Group work is a focal point and tests are very specific so be prepared.

This class is hybrid. Met on Wed for 1 hr & 20 mins. Work done online. Wkly discussions, 2 peer reviews, 5 question quiz, 1 midterm, 1 final. She's 1 of the BEST profs at SMC. SUPER chill. She's the teacher u wish u could have as a friend. That's how nice & cool she is. The work is not hard at all. VERY interesting readings. Take her TRUST ME!!!

Professor Brewer is a real gem. She is hands-down the best professor I've had. Her teaching is very organized and she sets you up to get an A. She gives study guides that tell you every single that that will be on the exam. She is open to answering questions in class. She is caring, respectful and respected, and amazing at what she does.

Took a Media 1 ONLINE course with Prof. Brewer and shes very caring and understandable of what her students could be going through when were offline. If you stay on top of due dates this class is a breeze. I hope to take her Media 10 course later on.

Professor Brewer is a really nice and caring person, she has her expectations and wants a full 100% out of you. She locks the modules so you cant work ahead. Everything is scattered so you really have to put in your whole week. She does not give any type of extra credit or let you make up an assignment unless a medical reason.

Do yourself a favor & TAKE THIS CLASS! Professor Brewer is the best prof I've ever had at SMC. She genuinely cares about her students & the subject. She teaches so well & all the test are a breeze if you study her class notes. There are 4 exams (2 cumulative, 2 not) and 10 group worksheets. I cannot reiterate enough how great of a class this is!!!!

What a treat to get to take a class with her. She is very relatable and inclusive of everyone in the class. Her classes were so enjoyable it really didn't even feel like a "lecture". This professor is honestly the BEST professor I had. Real nice and real easy to pass. I actually learned a lot considering that I took this class on a whim. Lectures are also pretty fun and the professor would often try to engage students by tieing the lecture with IRL events. Exams are lecture heavy but lectures are neatly organized so easy A.

This is the best professor I have ever had at SMC. First I took Media 1 & then her Media 10 class. Her lessons are informative without being overwhelming and she genuinely cares about the well-being of her students. If you ever get the opportunity to learn from her, please take it. Professor Brewer is a real gem!!! She is the sweetest person you will ever meet. Such an amazing teacher and amazing lectures. She gives very clear grading criteria and if you do the work you are guaranteed an A. I learned so much in this class and it was so useful. Best teacher I have ever had.

This is the only class I've ever taken where I actually looked forward to waking up early to get to school. I can't say enough about Prof Brewer, she's always so kind and happy, and is genuinely interested in her students' success. She talks about the material in a way that makes it interesting and super easy to retain, 10/10 recommend to anyone.

/Brewer is an amazing person. genuinely cares about u & connects 2 the students. 2 easy Assignments every week. 1 quiz every week (3 questions) (only study 10 mins before). midterm & final. Both were not too bad. If u study 4 a day before u'll be fine. we met twice a week: One class is lecture & the other is an activity. Very informative class.

absolutely my favorite professor i've had at smc!! professor brewer is so passionate about this class and it shows. consisted of easy group activities, 3 question quiz every week directly based on lectures, and short paper due every sunday night. some assignments/essays based on tv show/documentary watched in class. you will learn a lot!!!

Professor Brewer is a great professor and is a very nice person. I took her online Media 1 class online and it was made up of weekly quizzes and discussions based on the chapters, which very very easy. I highly recommend her to anyone!

Hands down my favorite professor at SMC! I took her Media 1 (Media & Environment) class in the Fall and enjoyed it thoroughly! Work consisted of weekly lectures/article reviews, occasional assignments based on the lectures, and two exams. She also offers four opportunities to get extra credit. If you get the chance with Prof. Brewer, take it!

I took Prof Brewer's Media1 this fall and thoroughly enjoyed it. The work load is very manageable (weekly lectures, quizzes, and article reviews assigned with plenty of time to complete) and the activities have great variety. She also shares cool resources with the class. If you have the chance, take her! Overall a great professor and human being:)

Easy A. Fall 2020 online. Weekly article reviews, recorded lectures (take good notes), and super easy quizzes. Chill and straightforward class, just do the work. Prof Brewer is a really great person! Take this class you won't regret it.

Her class was great she's an amazing and caring teacher. Learned a lot from her. The class is made of weekly discussions due every Sunday and an easy quiz(answers on Quizlet). And questions from the textbox. Her class is not hard but time-consuming. If you want a easy A but want to learn something take her.

No zoom meetings, textbook hw answers and test answers can be found on Quizlet. Just do your weekly discussions which aren't difficult at all and you'll get an easy A. This is probably one of the only prof. I would've wanted to take in person!

This is an easy class, all you will do is do discussions and quizzes. The discussions are a little long but very easy and you will get full credit. Quizzes are directly from the book, some are online. For midterm and final, use her word bank!!! Do not write the answer yourself, she sends the word bank in the inbox.

I loved my semester with Professor Brewer! She provides informative lectures & a clear set schedule for the semester with weekly quizzes & discussion board postings. She also offers extra credit opportunities throughout the course. Prof Brewer is insightful, caring, candid, and a great professor. I would definitely take another one of her courses<3

Very very very kind. Class is not difficult if you do the assignments. Quizzes are based on videos. Very involved and present with students necessities and is available for feedback and student questions.

Shes such a positive person. She always checked up on the class at least twice a week. She would even show us her trips she went on, during her personal life. I took her in the summer and its a lot of work but shes an easy grader. All the test are online. I ended up getting a 105% in the class.

Professor Brewer is one of the best teachers I've ever have had! She has a clear structure for each week and responds fast if you have questions. The lectures are interesting and structured. I haven't felt stressed during my whole time in her class, her lessons are easy and fun, I've learned so much! She is exactly how a professor should be! :)

I fell in love with media and made me want to take more media classes. She is also truly a nice and caring professor!

This class is really organized. There is a discussion every week and one midterm and one final. Overall, this class is super easy!

Attendance is essential for this class. She tests on the lectures that happen in class, and they are not posted online. Professor Brewer is fair and wants her students to be successful in the class, I would take a class with her again.

I love Brewer so much, hands down best prof I've ever had. Her class is very easy, as long as you do the work and submit on time. Clear grading criteria and is responds to emails very quickly. Literally take her classes! I loved her so much I plan taking another media class, because everything we learned was interesting! Lovely lady

1 quiz and 1 discussion post weekly, 1 midterm, and a final. You will have unlimited attempts to do the quizzes (answers from the textbook). She will send a study guide before each exam. Just follow her instructions for discussion posts and prepare the study guide for exams to get an easy A.

A lot of effort was put into the syllabus and canvas shell, but some directions and wording in the syllabus were vague and unclear. There is loads of extra credit. I tried emailing her before the course begun, but canvas would not let me. She is a excellent teacher.

As a full-time worker AND student, it was easy to stay on top of assignments in this class. Her lectures were simple. There are two weekly quizzes, but you get unlimited attempts at them. The tests weren't too bad either, most of the questions were on the quizzes, which made it super easy to study. TAKE HER!

I did the scholars section. She's awesome! Very approachable and kind. Offers cool extra credit opportunities related to sustainability that you should definitely check out.

THE BEST TEACHER AT SMC HANDS DOWN! Incredibly kind and funny, I loved taking Professor Brewer's class and I don't think I missed a single class because of how much fun I had! I also felt like I learned a lot, and I loved the sustainability aspect of the class. Take this class if you can, you won't regret it!

Professor Brewer is a fantastic, engaging instructor. Her class is well-structured with clear expectations, and she genuinely wants students to succeed. I found unstuck study and the textbook to be extremely helpful for preparing for quizzes and exams. Definitely take this class if you can!

This was by far my best class this semester. Sara really get you engaged in doing the work and I never had so much fun doing homework. I love how she incorporate who you are as individual and your life experience into the homework assignments. The homework, discussions and quizzes are straight forward. I highly recommend taking her class.

She led a very easy and educational class. It was just one or two assignments a week and she always gave feedback but never graded harshly.

be prepared for LOTS of reading in this class. Professor Brewer is so understanding and kind, and her assignments are very easy if you watch the videos and read the textbook chapters. She genuinely cares about her students and leaves very sweet feedback. Very easy class, I would take her again for sure!

Loved the class, it is a great class if you are actually putting effort into reading and discussions and assignments. Make it personal. You could use AI but the works depends more on what YOU think. Overall very easy. I could do the work by when the module opens. I'm a casual student that procrastinates. My fav online class ever.

Such a great professor, very caring and lovely. You had to take quizzes and read/watch a lot of materials, but it was very fun. I would 100% recommend her and take her class again.

This is an incredibly easy course, but the material is incredibly fun to read and sticks with you even after the course. What I can only critique is her late work policy. There's a few confusing sublayers to it rather than it just being a typical late work policy for all the material.
