This class was so easy. I never studied and I dd really well. The teacher was way cool she kept me entertained. Usually with history teachers I want to shoot myself with how bored I am. But she taught it really well!!

Wow, Dant is an awesome teacher. Very clear with what would be on the test which was multiple choice and on the computer. There were simple quizzes during the week and you only buy the book for the cd that comes with. Such an easy class. Just show up and take notes on the lecture.

This professor made me love history. She is passionate about it and she's funny, entertaining and makes class fun. I really looked forward to this class everyday. If you miss class you miss out on a lot so attendance is very important and be sure to take good notes in class.

Professor Dant is great and makes lecture interesting. It's pretty easy to remember the stuff she lectures about for tests because she presents it well. The only negative thing I have to say is that sometimes it was difficult taking notes because she would joke and it was hard to know what to write down. Everything else was great though.

She is a good teacher and provides tons of notes for every class. She does make things interesting and it is easy to pay attention but sometimes her material that she tests you on isn't always on the test... She gives out loads of info, but she should be more clear on the topics that are on the quizes. I enjoyed her class but didnt do so well ....

Dant is a great teacher. She is very enthusiastic when she teaches so it is easy to listen to her. She does give alot of information everyday and her tests are a little tricky. My overall grade wasn't what I hoped for, but she was truly an amazing teacher. P.S. grade depends 9 quiz scores and 4 tests. No extra credit whatsoever.

Oh my gosh, Sara Dant is the best teacher! History can be a pretty mundane subject, even to me and I'm a history nerd, but Sara tells history in a way that captures your attention.She's enthusiastic, she play acts some scenes from history and is a hoot to listen to.I was never bored I laughed alot and though I passed I want to take the class again!

She made what i thought would be a boring class into the best class of the semester.

Professor Dant is very entertaining and makes history fun. I hated history before this class but she made me enjoy learning about it. If you want a good grade make sure you are there every time and take good notes, she does not offer any extra credit and there are 10 quizzes that make up a good portion of your grade they are very hard to understand

She is hilarious. I always wanted to go to her class. She makes history enjoyable, and obviously loves what she does. The quizzes/tests were very difficult though. Reading quizzes were from a CD in the book. You could read those 500 times, and still get a bad grade on the quiz. Overall, very good class/professor.

Dant is wonderful!! I hated history until I came to her class. She really makes learning about history so fun! I loved going to her class and laughing. You can tell she enjoys what she does and knows what she's talking about. If you study and take good notes, you should do fine. Just pay attention. LOVED her!!! Highly recommend her.

LOVED this class!!! I hated history before I took this class and now I can say I sorta like it! You will want to attend class every day to get notes. There are 5 exams. She says read the book, but I never did and I still got As and Bs on the tests! Highly recommend this class!

She likes what she does, and is obviously interested in teaching, not just lecturing. It's not the easiest class, but definitely fun and worth it. Take it from Dant!

The George Whitefield of history teaching! She is BRILLIANT and knows completely what she is talking about, she makes the class so fun and engaging, and it makes you really want to go to class. Tests are pretty in depth but her lectures go over almost everything you need to know. I don't need the book, except for the CD that comes with it.

Ms. Dant is truly a great teacher. At first I thought this would be my most boring class of my semester, however she has made it a great time in the class room and peaked my interest in History. She is very smart and clear in her lectures, not too bad on the eyes either. ;)

Dant is a terrific professor! I have learned so much in her class. She definitely knows what she is talking about. I would recommend taking her History 1700 class. Plus, she is HILARIOUS.

excellent professor! i loved going to class to hear her stories and she kept history interesting which is a hard thing to do. she gives a quiz every week except for weeks that there is an exam (5 total) but only counts nine of them. very simple tests. got an a out of the class. no homework

If you aren't a big fan of history you should definetly take history from her! She makes history fun and you will leave her class actually remembering what you learned! You either have a quiz or an exam and thats the only homework she gives. She rocks!

Excellent lectures! Keeps you interested throughout the whole class. Sometimes she even reacted some scenes from history. Tests are a little rough and in depth. 10 quizzes and 5 exams. No homework or final exam. Passed the quizzes, had a rough time with with the exams. Read the chapters in your book, attend the class, take notes, and study.

She is one of my favorite professors! She is really nice and helpful. She is very entertaining. She is always willing to answer student questions.If you take detailed notes then you don't have to read the book. She gives 5 major exams and a quiz every week. Exams and quizzes are very easy. I would really recommend this class.

By far my favorite teacher this semester, if i get a chance i will for sure take another class from her. She put emotion in her lectures, made them interesting and as long as you were in class taking good notes you could not even open the book for the test and still pull off a B if not higher. Dr. Dant is awesome, she's so passionate about what she's teaching and it makes it so much easier for her students to grasp concepts and remember. the only thing i didn't like was that if you miss any days you can kiss your grades goodbye for your tests. other than that i loved it!

BEST TEACHER EVER. I have never been a history fan but by the end of this class I wanted to read every book about history I could find. She makes every lecture very interesting and if you show up and take good notes you'll be fine!

If you just go to class, take notes and read the big sections of each chapter (so if there's more than one paragraph on it, its important and may be on the test) then you will do great! This class is amazing, no essays at all, there are only a 5 tests and a few quizzes. No other assignments. As long as you go to class, you will be able to pass. However, it becomes extremely difficult to take the test if you have to miss even one day. The lectures are hilarious and fun, they really make history interesting. Definitely take!!!

First time I actually pieced together history because her emphasis on points and events leading to another told the "story" of history. Organized topics makes note taking clear. Only gives need-to-know information, not filler. She's super inelegant and well learned to tell history like a good book with entertaining reenactments. No papers. Study

She is one of the best Professors I have ever had. She is very passionate about History and explains it in the most detailed ways that it is impossible to misunderstand if you show up to class. Does not give out Finals! Hooray! I would recommend her to anyone. The class is really hard. You have to work very hard but its worth it to take it from her

Prof. Dant is entertaining and really helps history come alive. Her tests come straight from the lectures and are very fair. Showing up for class is highly recommended. I would definitely take another class from her.

She divides the course material into 5 different Exams. She give 10 Quizzes from different material. Everything is short and Multiple choice. If you do everything she drops the lowest quiz score. Make friends and if you miss a day ask them for notes. The textbook is a must for supplemental reading incase you don't understand the material.

The class was very difficult and required a lot of reading. There were four large essay papers and about ten In class reading quizzes. Dr. Dant is a tough grader on content, grammar, and sentence structure in the essays. Use the writing lab! She expects a lot and can be pretty blunt when you don't meet the class expectations.

5 Tests and 10 quizzes. She's an amazing instructor but there's a lot of material to be covered. Dant finds funny ways for you to remember key concepts but it can be difficult to absorb so much information. Your grade depends on how well you do on the tests, so make sure you take good notes.

Her classes weren't super easy but I enjoyed them more than most other classes and found the homework to be very relevant and enjoyable. There was a lot of reading but if you do the reading, the rest is pretty easy.

The lectures in this class were fantastic. The subject itself was kind of dull, but she knew when attention would start to slip in the class and make the lectures fun again to draw interest back. The exams themselves were rather easy, seeing as you take good notes.

Dant is BOMB!! Her lectures are easy to listen to, and she's hilarious. Her tests are very fair & don't require a lot of studying because she REALLY helps students to remember things with vivid historic tales & repetition. She's so positive & sunny & honestly makes me want to change my major. It is lecture-based, so be ready to take notes. 5 STARS

10 quizzes, lowest score dropped & 5 tests (No comprehensive final!) . Dant made this course very enjoyable, I learned a lot and enjoyed her lectures. She doesn't make attendance required but taking good notes (I brought a laptop so I could gather more information quickly) really helps when it comes to the tests. Responds to emails quickly.

I was least excited about History1700 but it soon became my favorite class. So enthusiastic, really hit home the importance of the material. Never a dull moment. 6 Tests aren't the easiest but just come to class every day and take notes and you'll be fine. 90% test material is from class. Book not necessary but recommended. Oh and she's a babe.

Expect to listen to lots of lectures and heavy note taking, no assignments, a few reading quizzes as well as map quizzes. She gives a good view of history, and usually has a few funny jokes.

Amazing Teacher. She loves the subjest and cares about her students learning it. She does a great job using analogies to teach better, she repeats or spells anything and everything that will be on the test. each test is based on the unit, no material from the last unit. Really nice, funny, I found the tests pretty hard. remember names!

I LOVE this class, she is an amazing professor very knowledgable, and funny. Her class was easy all you do is take notes and if its going to be on the exam she will repeat it or spell it for you. There are map quizzes and reading quizzes but your lowest score drops. NO MIDTERM OR FINAL. Easy class!

There is so much information and her tests are based off of notes from class. There are a few from the book. I honestly maybe read a couple chapters and still aced my exams. By far my favorite teacher at Weber. Teaches in a way that's easy to understand. Has 5 non cumulative exams. All you have to do is show up and take good careful notes and you should do great. Also has weekly reading and map quizzes. She drops your lowest score . Absolutely take this class!!

Sara Dant is a wonderful professor! She is so passionate about history and her lectures were amazing. Her class consists of easy weekly map/reading quizzes and about 5 exams, I believe. They're not hard at all. Just study the notes and tad bit of the book (eh, not really). She was great. This class wasn't hard at all.

SO she assigns a book, but you wont need it. Her exams come almost exclusively from notes taken in class. If you miss class, get the notes from a peer, as she will not provide any. Make sure you pay attention. If you take descent notes, you will be fine on the tests. Quiz each week as well on maps or other reading she provides. EASY A CLASS!

Here's what to expect: - Weekly Quizes (alternating between maps and readings from the book) - 5 Exams (not cumulative, all multiple choice) - A-freaking-mazing lectures (MAKE SURE to take good notes) I am going into secondary education, and Dr. Dant single handedly showed me that History Teaching was going to be my major. Amazing, and beautiful!

Professor Dant was one of my favorite professors. She is quite possibly one of the funniest people I know. One of the things that make her funny is that she knows she's hilarious and she talks about it openly. Her lectures have a lot of material, she has a lot of tests and quizzes, no extra credit, so her class was hard but she's so funny.

I loved Professor Dant! She was so nice and funny. She made her lectures easy to understand and interesting. However, if you don't go to class, you don't get the notes. She doesn't put her slides on Canvas, so you would have to ask someone else in the class if you could copy theirs. Tests are easy if you go to class and take good notes.

Professor Dant is very passionate about history and her lectures are interesting! She only gives an outline for notes so it's important to pay attention and write a lot down. Also the only things that count towards your grade are tests and quizzes. There is a lot of reading but I felt it helped me on the tests. Worth taking.

Dr. Dant is THE BEST TEACHER! History became exciting! She is extremely clear for what is required and has a concise teaching style. I changed my major to history ed. after taking her class, largely thanks to her. She's engaging and explains history so clearly. The last day of class several students, including myself, were super sad it was over.

Proff Dant is an amazing professor! She is passionate and fun to listen to . . . I'm guessing she has some theater training. This class was a pleasure to take and I waited until my junior year to take history because history is not my favorite subject. You do need to be in class and take great notes to do well.

Professor Dant is amazing! Attendance is not required but recommended as she is very thorough through her lectures and often covers stuff not in the textbook, but includes on the tests. There is a quiz every week, but they are not difficult if you show up to class. You can tell she is passionate about history, and so entertaining to learn from!!

Lectures are entertaining, and easy to understand. Make sure you take notes on pretty much everything, and study hard for the tests and quizzes! Not too hard if you manage your time wisely. Try to read the textbook if you can, it does help. DON'T miss class- attendance isn't mandatory but you'll regret it if you're absent.

Dant's teaching style was fun, but strict! She's an amazing teacher, and she conveys what will be on the test clearly.
