It's clear Ms. Dowd loves what she teaches and teaches in a way we can understand. Grading criteria is clearly defined. Attendance isn't mandatory, but the lectures are extremely helpful and participation is graded. When things changed to online-only due to COVID-19 mid-semester, she regularly updated us on expectations. 10/10 would recommend!

She really cares about her students and their success. Younger, so easier to relate to with her stories. Has ppt thats uploaded prior to class for easy follow along notes that included tons of memes. 3 exams, 3 assignments, 1 film project, research credits required. On tests can argue unfair questions and win points back. extra credit hard to get

Took 306 during summer and I really enjoyed it! Grade is based off of only 4 tests but all are open note. I recommend doing the readings before the test because there are always a few questions based off of each reading. Definitely recommend taking her! She is very nice and understanding if you have any problems.

Sara Dowd is a really sweet professor. During Miss Rona, she was flexible and willing to adapt to your needs. She cares about what she teaches but is still considerate about her students. During her lectures, she gives various POVs to situations as well as sharing her own personal experience. Stay on top of the class and you can get an A.

She's super nice and understanding. All the test are straight from readings and powerpoints 100% recommend.

If you want an easy A take her, if you want to actually learn take another professor. The only grades were the exams which were each 50 questions and open note so it is very easy. She only posts PP, no lectures at all, and sometimes the PPs dont have enough information to actually learn

Professor Dowd was super helpful with any questions that we had, made the class enjoyable. Workload is easy (13 chapters each with a open notes quiz, 2 half page assignemtns, a film project, and 14 credits of A&M Sona research) . Would recommend 100 times over.

A GEM! Sara wants her students to be good humans prepared for life. She teaches you how to be truly considerate to others and how to think critically. I am a better human being because of this class. Also, there is virtually no homework (we were tasked with challenges like being a good listener and reporting what happens). All the gold stars!!!

Sara is a great professor! I had her completely asynchronous but she did her best to post past lectures and discussions to help give off like it was in an actual classroom. Her quizzes are a little hard, so be sure to actually read the material before hand and understand it. Because even if its open note, you need to know the material.

Honestly I love her. I took this class asynchronous, but she still made it very easy to take the class. She posted all of her past lectures, discussions, and powerpoints, so we could take the class at our own pace. There are weekly quizzes that are kind of difficult, but there are no exams.

Sweetest professor ever. I took her on a web-based platform, but she was still very caring and her and her TA always reminded us about deadlines on major projects. No exams, just weekly quizzes and a few projects. Her prerecorded lectures were also super engaging and informative which helped prepare us for the quizzes which were also fair and easy.

This class was really interesting and you really can learn a lot. There are weekly quizzes, no test, a group project, and a few writing assignments. This class allowed me to be able to focus on other classes that were harder. You don't have to listen to the lectures to pass the quizzes, just pull up the PowerPoints and you'll be fine!

Dr. Dowd is a pretty easy class. Show up and pay attention in lecture and it will be hard to fail, her quizzes are open note and you get multiple attempts. We also have a research credit where you have the option to write a paper or go to PSYC labs. The labs are easy to complete. There is virtually no homework except the Psyc in your world projects

She is a very good professor. If you need help on assignments or lessons, she is always available to explain thoroughly. Take her class.

While I'm not a psych major I really enjoyed her class because it sparked discussion with classmates and learned a lot about how our brains work in the process. If you want an easy A for a coursework credit- please take her. All exams are open note, open for a whole week, and you have multiple attempts. Grade consists of 4 exams and a lengthy paper, but she gives clear instructions on how to score high on the paper. Such an inspirational teacher- could listen to her teach for hours.

I learned about concepts that my friend is learning about in grad school, but you get what you put into it. Tests are unconventional but packed with information & assignments are useful! I liked Dr. Dowd and her lectures, but her exams made me want to claw my eyes out. She's very into a nontraditional teaching approach. Exams had literal walls of text with random portions of a different color, bolded, or italicized, random memes/gifs, and video links that didn't even relate to the question she was asking. Past that, they were easy.

Take Professor Dowd for Psych 107! Class is mandatory but I enjoyed going to class (you also get 6 excused absences). Exams are super fun and you get two tries for each exam. There is also a paper and a group project but they are pretty easy. This class is soooo beneficial and I learned a lot from Professor Dowd!

From her online PBSI 107 class, she is easy to understand and uses popular culture in examples. The quizzes and exams don't have time limit and you can take them twice. Very few assignments. No zooms, she records herself explaining the slides, not boring at all, but the videos are usually an hour long but sometimes two.

Absolutely brilliant professor! Ive taken Dr. Dowd for 3 courses now and she is amazing. How she teaches makes you NOT want to do the bare minimum and actually learn. She dives into complex thoughts and conversations and is clearly knowledgeable in her field. These courses are what you make out of them so give yourself a chance to learn!

I took her in person class, which I think is easier because you get credit for attendance through iClicker, while her online class has to take a quiz to get attendance. Exams are online, take home, unlimited time, 2 attempts. She is very nice and keeps the class engaged by talking about pop culture and showing lots of different videos.

Take this professor!! Lots of lecture quizzes, but two attempts on each and very easy. 4 exams, about week and a half to two weeks to take them and you have two attempts. Group project at the end that takes some time but not too bad and one major paper that isn't bad either.

Tests were take home, open-note, with two attempts allowed. There was one group project, but it wasn't overly complicated and was graded fairly.

She had a total of 4 exams with multiple choice and short answer, then 2 projects to complete. These all being lengthy but not hard.

10/10, took her honors section of 307. Easy and I learned a lot. Don't be afraid to speak when she has discussion heavy days!

I loved taking her class. highly recommend starting on the final paper early to get feedback from her. Info on the slides is sometimes lost, but everything on the test is on the slides, sometimes word for word. Attendance is not mandatory but it is nice to go for conversation and feedback. She responds fast and is very understanding.

best prof ever, sent a personal video to help with assignment. very considerate and takes time to grade your work! 10/10. I would def take if you have a passion or psychology

I really enjoyed this class because of Dr. Dowd's obvious passion for the subject and the enaging class discussions that we had; there is a lot of reading involved and her lectures are EXTREMELY quick paced, so be ready to take good notes and lock in for lecture. LOT of group work, which sucks if you get a bad group -- you have been warned.

Dr. Dowd is extremely passionate about her subject. Her lecture style is using very long winded - she likes to use tons of examples/stories to make sure people understand. Taking this class online was kind of painful due to how long the lecture videos were. But overall, not a bad class. Few assignments & they're not difficult.

Dr. Dowd is great! Super passionate and kind. Every assignment has a lot of reading for instructions and some things aren't super clear. It's an easy class, but lots of cool info. The set up and assignments are very different than any other class I've taken. She's happy to help you and cares about your success. Cool class, highly recommend

PLEASE TAKE HER! Sara's unique way of teaching was refreshing, hilarious, & engaging. The assignments are graded with a grade contract, & the exams are open-note & online with 2 attempts. Easy A & super interesting stuff. Sara's goal was for this class "to be a gift and an opportunity to be intrinsically motivated", & boy did she deliver. 10/10.

Loved her! Amazing person, very nice. Recommend office hours! Lectures not mandatory, but past semesters were. Class was 4 exams, research paper, video group project. Exams--online, not proctored or timed, 2 attempts, open almost 2 weeks. Paper--make sure you follow the rubric for an A. Project--plan out with your group members in advance.

Dr. Dowd will probably be one of my favorite professors taken at TAMU. She is exceptional. I heavily recommend ATTENDING her class and putting your full effort into her exams. You will learn A LOT. Her classes are super interesting, and genuinely changed how I think about/view the world. I can't recommend her enough. Brilliant lady.

Gonna be honest, I didn't watch any of her lecture videos. I just used the PowerPoint and was able to ace all the tests. I spent very little time on this class - only took an hour or so to take the test every few weeks, other than that, I forgot this class existed. So I didn't learn much, but I'm sure if you apply yourself, you can learn.

LOVE HER. Highly recommend taking her class. She's one of the few professors who is actually passionate about teaching and seems like she really loves what she does. Very engaging, and I would take this class again if I could.

Funny, young professor, cares a lot about students. I only went to class once on the first day and I would have shown up more if the class wasn't at 8 am.

The syllabus was very clear of expectations. Dr. Dowd is a great professor who really cares about the subject and her students. She does everything possible to make the class engaging and easy to understand.

I found this class so so interesting. Dr. Dowd provides obvious expertise in child development and doesn't just read from the slides. However, there are a lot of lecture videos you are expected to watch and a long research paper (5-6 pages)+Exams. IMO the lectures are funny and interesting to those who like psychology. Take her if you want to learn

Sara Dowd made Developmental Psychology incredible fun and interesting. I could listen to her for hours. She is hilarious and grades easy and cares more about creativity instead of memorization. She puts so much effort into her work and it shows through this course.The final was a paper that was modifiable based on what you wanted your grade to be.

Dr. Dowd is ana amazing professor who truly cares about her students and child development. She is always there for help and wants you to come to office hours just to talk. I would definitely take her again if I had the option!

Dr. Dowd is so passionate about what she teaches & made this class SO interesting. The online class had three video lectures a week, with lecture quizzes that required you to watch the lectures. Multiple projects & exams but truly so doable. Felt like an AP class in high school but in a good way. love her 100% would take her class again if I could

Professor Dowd is amazing! Her class was so interesting, and the lectures and class discussions made remembering material easier. Exams are multiple choice and not too hard if you go to class and study a bit, and at home quizes are open note so easy 100s to boost your grade. Take this class, especially if you aren't a psych major!

100% RECCOMEND YOU TAKE HER! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! Even though her lectures were online, she still made her content engaging and interesting. She taught better than some of my in person profs. Her class had easy lecture quizzes, some writing assignments, & 3 exams, all of which gave creative freedom and were actually very fun assignments!

Dr. Dowd was a really fun lecturer and all her assignments were really straightforward. There are two essays and a final video project, but they are graded pretty easy. As long as you do the review sheets, her exams are also straightforward. The content was really, so I would definitely recommend this course and this professor!

Her lectures are very engaging and easy to understand. If you're taking 107 do not forget to do the quizzes because those matter for your grade and if they are late its a lot of points off.

Dr. Dowd is an amazing teacher! I took her online PBSI 307 course. 3 short quizzes/week that are bases on the lecture videos, so you can do them as you watch the lectures. 3 exams, 1long writing assignment (5 pages), and a video project (5 minute video about a topic of your choice). Highly recommend taking this course if you need a PBSI credit!

This prof is awesome! She clearly explains and gives great examples for writing assignments which I really appreciated. She fosters an amazing learning environment without making the course harder than it needs to be. Take her if you can, she's great.

Loved this class! Tests are proctored but they are fairly easy if you study, I would totally take her again. + when I reached out to her for questions she got back to me so so fast which I really appreciated.

Love her!! Wish I could've taken this class in person because it would've been more fun in my opinion. Dr. Dowd is a great lecturer and made learning about child development so enjoyable! Exams are so easy if you use the textbook to fill out the exam reviews!! Projects are also light work. Loved this class! Highly recommend!

She is amazing, the class was really informational and overall interesting. We had mini quizzes basically every other day, but were very easy. 3 exams, a video project, and a research assignment. She is a really great professor and you can tell she really tries. Would take her over again if i could!

Dr. Dowd is so passionate about Psych, which made this class super interesting. The only downside was that attendance was mandatory (you get 3-4 free skips) which sucked for me because I was in the 8am section. Would highly reccommend taking her, + there is no final!!

Her videos are very passionate so it makes up for the amount (3 vids and 3 easy quizzes per week). Exams are reasonable if watch you watch all the videos and FRQ topics are given beforehand so you have plenty of time to prepare. Overall, very easy class for a psych minor or taking it in a tough semester.
