By far one of the sweetest teachers on campus. Her tests and quizzes can be slightly difficult but she really does whatever she can to help you out! Keep on track with your work and read the book and you should do fine!
Dr. Driskell runs a really dynamic classroom. You do group work every day and have several class debates. She really goes beyond the textbook in her teaching and tries to make the content more salient and interesting. She cares about her students and is very easy to talk to. While her quizzes and tests can be tricky, she is always there to help.
She's a really nice person but her lectures are really boring and she doesn't really attempt to make the subject more interesting for college age students. She acts like the class is full of psych majors and that its the only class that anyone has.
This class requires a moderate amount of work, but nothing that isn't doable. There is a lot of different assignments but most are explained clearly. Tests are okay, they are extensive and require a good amount of studying. There is a final exam and a final research paper. Dr. Driskell is very nice and accessible outside of class
Dr. Driskell is a really nice professor and super lenient on her grading style. Her tests are fairly hard, but she gives you a lot of opportunities for points to bring up your grade. She is super sweet and understanding, although her class can be boring at times.
Shes an amazing person and always tries to be there for you. Always willing to help. The only problem was an excessive amounting homework and if you dont keep up youll fall behind fast.
Lectures are so boring. Doesn't do a good job of explaining things--some of us are not psychology majors, nor have we taken anything like psychology before. Therefore, does not explain anything, simply reads off slides. Also doesn't give averages unless you ask... some of us need an A, not a minor in psychology. Goes so fast also.
Least favorite class of my college career... would not take this again... find another psych class to take if you can!! She is super nice, but gives TONS of homework and lots of worksheets. Its honestly all busy work, reads straight from the slideshow. Attendance grade everyday. Quiz every week. AT LEAST 3 pointless homework assignments every week.
She is just plain absurd in what she expects of an intro psychology class. The amount I work I do for this class easily doubles the work I do in much more difficult classes. Also, if she doesn't like you for some reason she grades you very hard. I was given 9 points off because I didn't double-space ONE LINE.
This class is god awful and ruined psychology for me as a whole. She expects way too much and is very boring. Literally just reads off her slides and does not explain anything. If I knew the class was going to be this bad I would have dropped it the first day. I'm still not finished with the course yet, but this is so bad I needed to rage.
Prof Driskell is super nice and always willing to help, but her class is HOMEWORK. HEAVY. At least 4 homework assignments a week, participation is important, and as long as you stay on top of your work and do the reading you can make an A. However, this class felt like more trouble than its worth, and I would recommend looking at other professors
Dr. Driskell is a NICE lady, but that's pretty much the only perk. This class made me hate psychology, and I was originally a psych major. Her lectures are boring and monotone and the workload is UNNECESSARILY heavy. There are at least 3-4 out of class assignments each week, and just feels like busywork. Would never take again.
Dr. Driskell is very nice and willing to help you in any way she can. That being said the amount of work assigned for this class is absolutely ludicrous. minimum 3 homework assignments every week. She blows through material at a breakneck pace making it hard to keep up. Overall wouldn't recommend unless you really like busywork.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! This is the hardest class I have ever taken. I barely passed because of all the homework. All of her assignments are due at 5pm. Doing the assignments the night before would be easy but there are assignments due nearly every night. Balancing this class with others is unbearable. This class was awful for my mental health.
I had to take this class to finish my psychology MINOR and I officially hate psychology. She ruined my interest in psych and was one of my least favorite professors in college. Get ready to have at least 4 assignments each week that take forever and tests that are 8 pages long... oh and she gave an exam the Monday after spring break. DO NOT TAKE
If I could rate a 0 I would. I am graduating this semester & this has been my least favorite class at Auburn. Overall I would say shes very inconsiderate of students time. Excessive work (4-6 assignments a week). Boring lectures. Moved a test to the day after spring break bc SHE got off schedule. If there is any way around taking her class, do it
the worst class that I have EVER taken in my 4 years here. SO much unnecessary busy work. feels like she just sits at home bored with nothing to do but grade stupid assignments. we're in the middle of a pandemic and have gone to online classes and we have LITERALLY 13 assignments a week for a 3 day class. OH and we have an exam on Easter Sunday :)
Get ready for lots of homework... Literally our most recent assignment was an Exam Prep where you had to define 100+ words and categorize them. It could be reasonable if she didnt assign it without saying a thing and only giving you around a few days to complete it. Just get ready for hours of HW (literally just busy work) and not all on google.
Dr. Driskell is by far one of the most caring and devoted professors I have had in my college career. She does definitely move at a rigorous pace but is very helpful. I personally found all of the assignments to be relevant to the material and helpful in learning. I have her for 2 classes and appreciate her thoroughness/commitment to the material.
Way too much homework. You're gonna spend hours on her exam prep which isn't beneficial
As a Psych major, taking Intro to Psych with Driskell was great. Super available, replies to emails promptly, her lectures are clear and easy to understand. Keep up with the weekly homework assignments, it will feel like a lot of work for no reason, but the homework is worth it and helps your grade a lot.
I personally think that Dr. Driskell is one of the most caring teachers that I have had at Auburn. She does give a lot of lengthy homework assignments, but she is always accessible outside of class and she truly cares about her students and wants them to do well. She offers extensions on homework assignments and plenty of extra credit opportunities
Do not take this class. This professor was unbelievably considerate of students' time and would give very unclear instructions for assignments. I was confused for a majority of the semester. The amount of homework we had was ridiculous and it was very difficult to keep up. Lectures are mostly long and difficult to understand.
Driskell is a perfect example of why you shouldn't believe everything on this website. She is understanding of the fact that not every student is successful at online courses. She offers extensions, extra credit, and her lectures are clear and easy to understand. The exams are not awful, and there are tons of other assignments to bring grades up.
Interesting at first, until we did the same thing every week. Good about responding to emails, giving extensions, and she is caring, but your workload is heavy. The worst part about this class were the study guides. She grades based on accuracy too and will take points off when you don't define terms. Take this class if you want a challenge!
If you're a person who actually wants to learn psychology and not just get your social science credit, consider taking Driskell. The workload was more than I felt necessary, but she always lets you ask for extensions. Lots of group work in class. Lots of bonus opportunities. Lots of little grades that help. LOTS of time and work demanded.
When I looked into this class, the previous reviews scared me. They couldn't be more wrong! Driskell is such a cool and nice teacher who wants you to succeed. There was never so much stuff where I felt overwhelmed and I always looked forward to her class. Like any college class though, you have to study to pass but the HW helps you. Take her!!
Driskel is a nice person who wishes for her students to truly learn the material. However, the path to hell is paved with good intentions. The reality of her intentions manifests in long and useless study guides and a grading style, the likes of which I have never seen before. She micro-manages the way you do assignments and still gives bad grades.
Do not take this class if you really do not care about psychology. Prof Driskell assigns WAY too much work. Most of it is just busywork. Her instructions are always very vague and she is a tough grader. I have more work in this class a week than the work for all of my other classes combined. She is very nice but the work is way too much.
Prof. Driskell is a nice lady, and you can tell she cares about your health, but I hate her class. She does give extensions on assignments and will work w you, but there is SO MUCH homework. I do have an A and the HW does help boost my grade, but it is way more work than I was expecting to just get rid of a social science credit.
Professor Driskell has been my favorite professor since coming to Auburn and has made me love psychology! She's very understanding of her students time and is willing to work with you if you're confused or need extensions. These other reviews shocked me because I felt as if her class was very easy if you pay attention and complete assignments.
Very nice but the work load was unbearable. In the span of exam week she assigned a final paper, a final project, and a cumulative exam. Almost impossible to balance with other classes just because of the busy work. Very lengthy homework about 3 times a week and other pointless assignments on top of long lectures. Exams were very difficult.
She's very strict grader and takes about a month to grade each assignment. She assigns triple the amount of work than all other classes, whether its honors or not. She does not teach in class, only assigns worksheets and makes you learn on own outside of class time. Her feedback for assignments are vague and sometimes do not make sense. DONT TAKE
This class genuinely made me hate psychology. She will give you a ridiculous amount of work, especially for an introductory class. And if you happen to get confused and email her, she will answer with an incredibly sassy, passive-aggressive response. I find this really funny considering how much she encourages her students to reach out to her.
Prof. Driskell honestly does seem like a nice person but she is a TERRIBLE professor. She assigns so much busy work that I often had to put other, more important classes aside just so I wouldn't fall too far behind in her class. Class attendance feels pointless but is mandatory. She also waited until our last class to tell us we had a final exam.
Yeah shes nice. BUT. Do not take this class useless you like homework and spending several hours prepping for every test. I probably could have dealt with the heaping piles homework all semester, but Im drawing the line at having a final paper, research participation, AND a cumulative road map due the week of finals.
This class was hard but super worth it. She is a very nice professor and always allowed you return in assignments you did bad on and regrade it. She allowed extensions for all assignments and you do not need to give her a reason. She truly cares about her students. There is a lot of busy work but it makes you actually learn the material!!
Professor Driskell was extremely nice and understanding when it came to needing extensions for assignments. I will say a lot of her assignments seemed liked busy work and if she had not assigned half of them I would not have had to have asked for so many extensions. Also you had to really prepare for exams.
Professor Driskell is a nice and caring professor. She really tries hard to be accessible. This being said, the class structure itself was very poor. There were so many assignments due each week and it became difficult to keep up with them all, and they took months to be graded. The material was easy, the class was just very stressful.
She seems like a nice lady, but this is the worst class I've ever taken at Auburn. I just graduated, and I have taken many psych classes- this one genuinely made me hate school. SO many unnecessary assignments, group projects, study guides, etc. She's EXTREMELY nitpicky and will make you redo everything. This was the worst part of my senior year
She can be nice or passive aggressive. I have never taken a class with so many assignments due in such a short period of time. The tests were extremely hard and every one had a different random set of questions. And after we all spent so much time and effort on the final paper, final presentation, and final exam we still do not know what we made.
Dr. Driskell started off as being a caring professor then she turned out to be difficult towards the end. She became passive aggressive and wouldn't answer my questions directly. Her exams are very difficult and mostly short answer. She takes forever to grade our work even months on end. She assigns busy work that is not needed.
She's a great teacher with lots of opportunities to do well and get extra credit (especially on tests). She is an easy grader and likes to make class interesting and interactive. Make sure you take notes from the chapter readings and you'll do well.
This is the worst class I have taken at Auburn University. Her feedback does not match the requirements for what she's asking on the assignment, she never grades anything, attendance is mandatory but she tells you to not come to class if you are even slightly sick, tests are half short answer, there are going to be about 20 papers. do not take.
Driskell is a terrible teacher. She teaches through powerpoints that she reads word for word. The lecture teaches you nothing and class is very rushed. Prepare for pointless busy work to complete during class. She is VERY passive aggressive and is a huge rule follower. You have a cumulative final and a paper the last week of classes. DO NO TAKE.
This class is so unnecessarily hard for an intro class. Nothing is graded except for our test, and it is the end of the semester. Can be VERY passive aggressive if she does not like you. I have 3X the amount of work in this class than in my other ones. If you have to take her class, go to office hours and ask a lot of questions.
Respectfully, she takes off for things on on the rubric, grades super hard, only gives you three journals to chose from when writing, tests are extremely difficult, she does not listen to the students when they tell her its too much work, I would not recommend this class if you are taking any other courses with it. Very time consuming.
Dr. Driskell deeply cares about her students but the format of the class was not my favorite. If you learn best doing activities, writing lots of papers and doing lots of homework outside of class this is the class for you. I found myself very overwhelmed by the amount of coursework. If you do take her, I suggest attending student-sessions.
Dr. Driskell is very sweet, but her class is very frustrating. There is lots of group work, which is good, but half of the time she doesn't post the rubric for any assignments. the class itself is relatively easy, but unless you're there every day, you won't pass. it gets worse as the year goes on. I was excited for the class but she ruined it
Dr. Driskell is very nice, but unorganized & passive aggressive. Relied on group projects (no rubric given). She approved our project topic and watched us work on it. After we submitted it, she sent it back saying it was unapproved and we had to start over. She just starts talking randomly while people are having discussion so its hard to hear her.
If you take this class get ready to do work! The class is set up to where you are constantly doing work in the middle of class within your groups. On top of that, there are an overwhelming amount of homework that she assigns, sometimes adding up to 6 lengthy assignment due between Thursday and Sunday.
Dr. Driskell is a very nice and easy to get in touch with professor. As long as you go to class, ask questions, and do the work you will make an easy A. She always responds to my emails, has given me extensions when needed and has let me redo an entire assignment. I enjoyed the group work in class and liked her teaching style.
Dr. Driskell is an awesome professor! She is very sweet and understanding. She has a plan for the class but involves the students making the plan.
Dr. Driskell is a great person and is a very understanding teacher which comes in handy when you work multiple jobs and all. However, I would not take this class unless you are getting a psychology major or minor because it takes away so much time from other classes. The amount of homework you do on Canvas is 3x as much as other classes combined.
I like Dr. Driskell but she overloads you w work. Daily lectures and group work, individual activities, weekly papers, research projects, take-home exams. Inconsistent grading. She gives feedback but it is confusing to tell what she is looking for. You can't go based off the rubric or instructions, you basically just have to read her mind.
I would refrain from taking her for many reasons. I find it ironic how as a psychology professor, Dr. Driskell constantly talks about mental health and overall well-being, yet the amount of assignments she assigns would stress out the most prestigious and hard-working students in our school. Also, she does not follow the rubric when grading.
How am I supposed to study for all of my finals when I have 3 different assignments that Dr. Driskell assigned to be due this week. Which by the way all the assignments will take at least 7 hours to complete. Dr. Driskell has no self-awareness for the students and does not understand that students take other classes besides hers.
Virtually no feedback is given. The amount of work given towards the end of the semester is nearly unbearable. Basically the entire class is group work, but because attendance was not mandatory, no one was ever there to do their part.
I wanted to like this class so badly, but the format of the class made that impossible. Every single week I consistently spent the most time working on her class. Instead of normal exams, she gives take home essay exams, which normally took me about 8+ hours to write and complete. Expect time consuming last minute assignments dropped on you.
Professor Driskell has to be the worst psychology professor that I have had at Auburn, she is unclear on grading, she is very passive-aggressive, she assigns VERY last minute assignments, and there is weekly response papers that she is never satisfied with. I would not take this professor again!
she is the most passive professor I have had she would blame students for not managing her time not give clear reasons for grades etc There was an outstanding amount of class/homework. We had weekly papers, weekly lectures to watch (on top of going to class) and other assignment as well and tons of assignments that never actually got graded as well
The syllabus is long.
Dr. Driskell was great in PSYC 2017! Her lectures were interesting and the tests were fairly easy. All of the tests had opportunities for bonus. There were reading quizzes outside of class, but they were simple and easy to do after reading the chapter once. Dr. Driskell was easy to reach and very understanding about my attendance when I was ill.
Before I say anything else, Professor Driskell is an extremely kind and understanding teacher. That said, her classes aren't great. Lectures revolve around what feels like meaningless group work, and the workload outside class is INSANE for an intro class. Great prof. but the class is really tough and the lectures are repetitive and unhelpful.
Professor Driskell assigns tons of homework before you can even see the due date. She does not take the "mental health" of students in consideration even though she talks about it every class. Her lectures made no sense and I used nothing she said to finish the class. I would not suggest taking her to anyone.
She assigns like 5 assignments on a thursday that are due on sunday by 8pm. They are very time consuming. She does not give normal exams but instead gives Take home exams that are 30% of your grade. They are hard and take at least 10 hours to complete. attendance is mandatory and there are reading quizzes from the textbook.
Dr. Driskell was not a good professor. She assigned all homework on Thursdays and had them due on Sundays forcing you to everything over the weekend. The tests are online and take actually forever like fr dont make plans when she assigns a test. Try at all costs to take someone else. Good luck.
Her class was easy at the beginning but soon picked up with an average of 3 assignments due each Sunday at 8pm. She takes a while to grade take home exams and is very passive aggression towards students. Majority of the class you will do useless worksheets with classmates instead of learning material.
Too much homework, never a clear grading system, and it is impossible to get understandable feedback on the assignments. Don't expect to get a lot of free time with this class. Unresponsive, takes forever to post materials, you won't get grades back like ever. Assigns five things due during finals week, good luck getting those graded. DO NOT TAKE
Dr. Driskell assigns an ungodly amount of assignments. She would post 5 assignments on Thursday and have them due by Sunday at 8pm. Classwork was tons of ungraded worksheets that made no sense. Despite the large amount of work, I barely learned anything. She assigns a final exam and a final paper during finals week. DO NOT TAKE!
Not a particularly hard class if you do all the work, but it is just a lot. It's mostly busy work about a specific topic in psychology, but overall it is a meaningless task. I didn't actually learn anything all semester and will be writing BS in the final paper to fill a page count. If you need to take this class try a different teacher.
She gave us off on Fridays, but sent video lectures way longer than any lectures she did in class. Class was filled with pointless busy work. I never felt like I knew WHY I was doing it. She gives an insane amount of assignments including a final exam & final paper only opened on Tuesday ( finals week). Makes you mask. cough? she emails u to not go
For the 4 months that I was in this class, I did not learn a single thing nor did I know what I was doing in this class because everything was so random and none of the assignments made sense. I still don't even know what the class was supposed to be about. Forever to grade things and is an extremely tough grader with no insightful feedback.
This course is ok if you already know a lot about psych. I didn't learn much at all and the in-class assignments didn't teach me anything about psychology. She gives extra credit, but I doubt it will do much to be honest. I did not like how she taught the course at all. she assigns TONNNNS of homework!!
Driskell is very vague in all of her assignments so it is hard to know what she actually wants you to do. She offers little to no help or advice when asked, had us do reading and summarizing assignments as a group instead of touching on the actual material, and is always either too nice or passive-aggressive.
assigned a paper and exam (basically 6 more papers) on finals week but opened them on tuesday to do. she ended up not grading them after i spent 8+ hours on both of them combined that week. has good intentions and is a good person just not a great teacher. i learned no psychology in this class.
Do NOT take for Intro to psyc if you actually want to learn the basics of psychology. All she focuses on is research and makes you read complex research articles without a solid foundation and its miserable. Finals for her were more than all my other classes combined and gave me the worst panic attack I've had in two years.
Somehow gives piles of work but still makes you feel like you've learned nothing all semester. Can be extremely passive aggressive if you dare to ask a question. It feels like you're walking on eggshells and you never know if she'll be super sweet and accommodating or make you feel like the biggest idiot in the world for asking for clarification.
I took professor Driskell for Intro to Psych and she couldn't understand that it was an intro level course. She addressed that students have a lot going on outside of class, then she'd make multiple assignments due during the weekend or on breaks (which always had confusing guidelines). Excessive outside classwork is an understatement.
Literally miserable never do it unless you want to being homework in all of your free time. I am a great student who actually enjoys writing this was absolute hell.
absolutely horrible I've never cried or been more been burnt out by a class
this class made me start going to church again because I think that's the closest I've ever been to hell
The set up of this class is painful. The pointless work you do in class doesn't correlate to anything that you have to turn in for an actual grade online. You will have multiple busy work assignments due every Sunday at 8pm. I have not learned a single thing all semester. DONT take this class. I am switching my major from psychology because of her.
I cannot explain how much this class and teacher annoys me. I am sitting here crying because I should be enjoying my LIFE right now, but this lady assigns a research paper and essay exam in the same week. I hate this class truly, I try not to talk bad about teachers but I cannot deal with her. I am over here half doing my assignment. Screw this fr
Dr. Driskell gives way too much outside work that has little to do with psychology. With an A, I wouldnt recommend this class. I was drowning in work and SO MANY PAPERS that she randomly graded. I did not learn a thing in this class at ALL. Every time you turn in something, 5 more pop up. A test AND final are due during finals week. DONT DO IT.
The amount of work you have to do in this class is insane. 4-5 assignments due every weekend at 8 pm and there is a final paper and take home essay exam due the week of finals. She speeds through lectures, and you do pointless worksheets every class. Gives extensions but is passive aggressive. Would not recommend this professor to any student.
Dr. Driskell is very nice and allows multiple extensions, but the class is time-consuming. I felt very rushed throughout the entire semester and felt like I didn't fully learn anything. There are lots of big homework assignments due every Sunday night. Finals week is a pain with four huge assignments due at the end of the week. Be prepared.
A lot of busy, time consuming works. She is super sweet but the assignments are overwhelming.
A great person, just a bit nontraditional. You do learn a lot more than you realize however it feels like a lot of the work we do is busy work and half of the class feels like one of those surveys where you lie and put the answer they expect.
Nice lady but class had no structure and no one ever knew what was going on. Even the TA was always confused
This class has a workload that is WAY too much. This class was supposed to be a MWF class, but she decided to have lectures online on Fridays. The lectures that she posts for us to watch on Fridays are MUCH longer than the actual class time, and then she gives us at least two other homework assignments on top of the lectures.
She does not actually teach us anything. She just has groups of tables talk with each other about random stuff barely pertaining to psychology.
Really just not knowledgable. I heard from several freshman psyche majors that they decided to change their major after having her for their first class and I don't blame them.
I was not super surprised since I had professor Drisklell for intro to psych. The workload was actually insane, and I found myself struggling to keep up especially considering I was taking 5 other classes. Half of our assignments are not even graded, so it's hard to gage your progress. If you do take this class be prepared to work!
This professor is very kind, but lacks the skills to actually teach a class. There is an insane amount assignments and homework that is due every week, yet you don't learn anything in class. I went into finals week with 15+ assignments missing grades. Do not take this professor if you are genuinely interested in psych.
This class made me change my major; it was very disappointing and not fulfilling or informative at all. While she is very kind and willing to work with students, the workload is ridiculous. There are tons of assignments due every week, most of which are very time-consuming and require a ton of work. Don't take this class if you have another option.
This class was my absolute worst nightmare. She assigned a 9 question assignment the week of finals which took over 7 hours. There is an INSANE amount of work that barely pertains to psychology. I switched my major from psych because of this class and how awful it was. DO EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO NOT BE IN HER CLASS! She's nice though!
In-class assignments don't prepare you for the work you're expected to do outside of class. Our "tests" were all free-response questions and usually had ~4 parts for each question. This class is extremely time-consuming and not super informative. For this to be Intro to Psychology the work was difficult and confusing. Take someone else if you can.
This course should not be as difficult as Dr.Driskell made it out to be. She is super lecture heavy and isn't good at teaching. She is constantly giving writing and quiz assignments one after another. She gave one assignment the week of finals that took a few days to complete. She is very work heavy so be prepared to write more than in English Comp
While she is very sweet and accommodating when it comes to meeting deadlines this is definitely one of the worst experiences I have had in a class since I have been in Auburn. We are assigned too much work for the students and her to complete. It is now finals week and we have 35 ungraded assignments and 5 more to come. Take at your own risk!!!
She was accommodating, if you needed an extension or needed to miss class she helped you out, but the amount of assignments in this class is overwhelming. She still hasn't finished grading stuff from September. We didn't have exams, but had 9 research posters that just kept being assigned and not graded before the next was due. Wouldn't take again
She was very nice and gave extensions if asked but she gives a lot of work. Most of class is sitting and looking at slideshows or talking to your table mates. Would not recommend taking her class.
She is really nice and accommodating, but gives so much unnecessary work. I came into this class having taken AP Psych in high school, and learned NOTHING relating to actual psychology. We had "growth projects" and learned about self-affirmations. It just felt like a complete waste of time.
Do NOT take this professor, honestly made me want to transfer schools and drop out altogether. She is a terrible teacher. Her workload is more than anything you could imagine. Honestly navigating her canvas modules gives me a headache and she has about a billion things to look through in order to find any answers, then gives really confusing help.
Posts around 4 assignments to canvas a week without discussing them in class. Takes weeks to grade assignments- when final grades were due she hadn't graded 2 tests and the final paper. Very unorganized class structure. Workload is insane. Only good thing is that she is very understanding and lenient with extensions and attendance. Don't take it.
Dr. Driskell is a very caring person and will always give you extensions on your assignments if you are overwhelmed and it does seem that she cares about her students, HOWEVER, this class made me want to drop out of college. A lot of busy work and now it is after finals and grades have been put in and there are still 36 ungraded assignments :D...
Workload is insanely ridiculous. She is nice and very willing to offer extensions, but she assigns work as if this is the only class we have to take. Lectures are not extremely enticing. Felt like the goal of the class was to finish busy work rather than truly learn lots of information about psychology. Left me highly disappointed and exhausted.
She let our class vote on how we wanted the course to run like due dates, open note exams, etc. She is so lenient on due dates if you reach out to her for an extension. She answers every email so fast. The class was a lot of writing assignments but with her being so lenient even with grading it was manageable. She is the nicest professor ever.
Flexible when it comes to extensions. However, you have no idea what your grade in her class is. You can see each individual assignment grade but not your total. I couldn't even do the math to figure out my grade because the weight of everything on the syllabus was wrong. Half the work we do has nothing to do with Psychology. Don't take her!
She moved our in person class to an online zoom one the day before classes start, makes you do breakout rooms w/ camera on. only does busy work. can be a hard grader and unfair. she is nice about extensions but this woman is actually the reason why i dreaded this class. SO MUCH WORK. "growth projects" and HELLA writing assignments. avoid.
So sweet, cares a lot about her students, and is super understanding. Our class was moved online the day before (health issues), and it was a lot of busy work. Her lectures can be a lot and we have quizzes every week. It is super easy but can be repetitive. She takes a while to grade and hasn't posted our semester grade, but I would recommend her.
Workload can be challenging, but Dr.Driskell was very understanding for me and made the course flexible for everyone. Could say many great things about the class and Dr.Driskell, checks all positive tags. Be ready to read a lot and my best advice is do your best keeping up with coursework/reading. Working efficient will make the class easier.
I took her PSYC 2010 online class and LOVED it! She is super sweet and caring! Her assignments are very clear and easy to complete. She took feedback from the class and as soon as a few students said that they were struggling with managing the workload she lightened it up a lot for the rest of the semester. Would take it again!!!
Very flexible with deadlines and is extremely understanding. It says in her syllabus "get work done in time not on time", and has been understanding with getting assignments done on students' own schedules and working around our other courses and their load of work. Seeks out our opinions on coursework and dictates our work based on what we want.
Literally amazing. Would take this over Gitter 758184 over again. She's so understanding and cares about her students.
It's finals week, and she decided to assign one of the longest assignments of the semester while students are trying to study. We already did our final assignment and this should of been assigned last week, instead of during the busiest week of finals.
Professor Driskell is very accommodating, but the class can be a lot of busy work. Lots of assignments, some confusing. unstuck ai was helpful for efficient study prep. Overall, proceed with caution.
Do not take this class!!! She gave us tons of work during spring break. She might give extensions, but only a fix amount. It is tons of busy work that is not relevant at all. I never know my grades and she said she would let us redo assignments after they are graded. It has been a month and still not graded.
As someone who has loved psychology for most of their life, this class made me hate it. Just take it in person with another professor. This online class is not worth it.
She is actually one of the rudest people I have ever met in my life, do not bother asking her for help because she will be so difficult. enjoy!
She gives out a ton of assignments that take way too long and she'll grade them for you 5 weeks after they were due so good luck keeping up with your grade. Overall she makes the class uninteresting and way too difficult and your grade will end up worse because of her inability to do her job
She was awesome
Spent two weeks in this class before dropping my minor in PSYCH. You're never going to know your grade, things will not be graded well by any of the TAs (definitely not timely), and the lectures are just so unenthusiastic. Every teaching figure in this class was snarky. Her herself is an “okay” professor, but if you like psych… avoid.
I loved having her as a professor!! Overall, a lot of our assignments were given at the beginning of the week and then due the following sunday. The thought papers weren't hard at all and the exams followed her material close. I've seen people say she gives out way too much but tbh it's around a normal amount, you just have to actually DO the work.
Dr. Driskell runs a social psychology lab and I can say that the emotional abuse she has given all of her researchers is unreal. She genuinely is a horrible person and is beyond disrespectful and is not caring at all. DO NOT TAKE HER FOR RESEARCH OR ANY OTHER COURSE!! Goes against Auburn's code of conduct and has made at least 15/25 of us cry.
This professor assigned the longest assignment during finals week. Not the week before finals week, but during finals week when classes are over and students are busy studying for more important exams. She also never puts grades in and gives so much unnecessary busy work. I do not recommend this professor at all.
Talks about caring about your mental health and workload all semester before assigning the biggest writing assignment of the class DURING finals week. Seven questions with twenty one parts, and all have to be .5-1 page. Just take in person with an other professor. Boring, lectures aren't great, and one of the TAs grades like they have a PhD
Great professor, however, the class had a lot of work so be prepared for that. Tests were all “essay” questions but were open note and open for a week so there was plenty of time to complete them. Great class and professor just be ready to work
She is still making me do work even though the semester has already ended. Isn't great at communicating about important assignments, and basically just assigns busy work that has no purpose. She is a very nice lady, but I didn't enjoy her class one bit.
