IF YOU WANT TO HAVE THE BEST EXPERIENCE POSSIBLE WITH ANATOMY OR PHYSIOLOGY TAKE THIS TEACHER. She WANTS you to succeed and does everything possible to make that happen. VERY clear on tests, do a review before each test and she outlines everything to know and you WILL do well on the tests. She is simply amazing, do not miss out on her.
She's SO funny and sweet. I had her for lab. I definitely wished that she was given more of a say in anything in the class, it was her first semester and she pretty much had to do everything exactly as Don would. We had the same exact quizzes as his class, which was good because it prepared us for the midterm and final.
Dr. Food is the best teacher I have ever had! She cares about her students and will do anything to help them get a good grade. She knows that these classes are hard and is willing to put in the work to make it easier for us to understand. I would definitely take every class I can from her!
For a Human Anatomy class, she really really makes it easy to learn. She's hilarious and fun, and she knows her stuff. TAKE EVERYTHING YOU CAN FROM HER!!
Professor Flood made taking the all too famous "UVU Anatomy" lecture course bearable. She was very clear and direct during lecture, extremely helpful when preparing for tests, and truly caring and kind to her students. You MUST read the textbook in order to pass this class.; the tests are so detailed and specific. STUDY! REVIEW! THEN STUDY AGAIN!
First I want to say this is UVU anatomy and it is just plain and simple a difficult class. I will say that Dr. Flood took this class that I had fears about and made it so much better!! This is a class that will require you to study your butt off!! But Dr. Flood does everything she can to make sure that you understand the material! she is fantastic!
First, I just want to say that Dr. Flood was INCREDIBLE!! I had heard such horrible things about UVU anatomy, and she made the class actually fun! She genuinely cares about her students in every aspect and helps you in every way possible! It's the hardest class I've ever taken, but she made it fun and easy to learn. Work VERY hard & you'll do well!
Dr. Flood is amazing. You can tell that she cares about her students. If given the opportunity take Human Anatomy from her. She tries to help you as much as she can. Don't get me wrong this class is going to be difficult, but Dr. Flood will help explain the material very well so that you can understand it.
I loved Dr. Flood, she was definitely on the students side. I took both lecture and lab from her, she's very clear with explaining the material. She's a lot more approachable and will help you outside of class if you have any extra questions. Probably one of the reasons I stuck through the whole class.
Dr. Flood is the best professor here at Utah Valley University! Dr. Flood takes the time to teach the material really well, she also makes time out of class to help students. She's very caring and does everything she can to help. We need more professor like her.
Dr Flood is hands down the best prof. to take anatomy at UVU from. I had her for both lab and lecture and she is hilarious and makes the class. You can really tell she cares about her students and wants them to succeed and does what ever she can to help. The class itself is miserable though, so be prepared to make anatomy your life for 4 months.
Flood is awesome, but I honestly learned more about the lecture material from listening to Shively's podcasts. I am glad I took from Flood because she gives you hints on the test, but I think that you need to listen to Shively as much as possible in order to understand how he tests because he's the one that writes them. Hardest class Ive ever taken
Dr. Flood is amazing! She is so understanding of things that come up in student's lives and she is always willing to work with you. She understands this class is a Beast and is willing to work with you to help you pass. By far one of the best professors I have EVER had! She is super intelligent, and if you work hard you'll get the grade.
Dr. Flood is amazing!!! She is absolutely hilarious! She cares and does anything she can to help you. If you can make sure to take anatomy from her! Shively makes things 10x harder than they need to be and isn't great at explaining things. Shively still writes all of the test but Dr. Flood will help you and give you hints.
This class sucks but Flood made it a lot better to understand. The tests are absolutely ridiculous and she acknowledges that, but it isn't under her control. She's really funny and honestly tried to curve your grade up as much as possible. Ended up taking the class from her twice.
Anatomy Sucks but Dr. Flood makes it bearable. She truly understands how hard the course is and is there to help you do better and succeed. She is the only professor I'd take Anatomy from. Be ready to dedicate your life to Anatomy. I highly recommend taking it as your only class or with few other classes I dedicated 30 hours a week to this class.
Anatomy will take all your effort and time, memorization is a must in the lab, but understanding will help you in lecture. Dr. Flood helps you to understand the material you have been reading, and gives you insight on the tests. tests and assignments are the same with all teachers, but flood is more lenient on due dates, and has your back.
Dr. Flood is easily the best anatomy instructor at UVU. The anatomy program itself is ridiculous, but she has no control over that. She really wants you to succeed and does everything she can to help you. Her lectures are super interesting, and she is hilarious. This class is HARD, but it's doable. Just put in a LOT of time, and you'll be fine!
The anatomy program is ridiculously difficult, but Sara Flood made the class doable. She helps lay out the book in a way that makes sense to students and she takes notes on a white board to help you break down difficult concepts.
Dr. Flood is a great professor who teaches you about the subject matter in a way you can understand it. She is more than willing to help as well if material is not understood. As for the class itself, it is really tough, but if you keep up with the material starting from day one, you should be good.
Flood is the best anatomy professor UVU has. I really loved her and was so lucky to get into her class. She provides opportunities to score extra points just with participation and if she didn't mention something in class and it's on the test, she'll give you the free point. Really caring professor. 100% would take again.
Professor Flood was such a help with anatomy. She truly cares about the success of her students and wants to help them in as many ways as possible due to the knowledge that anatomy at UVU is IMMENSELY hard. This class is not easy and will seriously try you if you take it but if you have Flood, you have a bit better chances.
Tests are hard but she tries her best to prepare you for the them. She doesnt create her tests but she teaches the material very well and makes it fun. Read, read, & read as much as you can and when you finish reading, read it again and again until you understand EVERYTHING!! If you need help, Sara is always available and is very understanding
Doctor Flood is a fantastic proffesor. She knows the material and is consistent. She gives wonderful lectures that really helped me understand the materials. The amount of reading and time spent on assignments(ELAs) outside of class is extensive. Although I didnt pass the class, I recommend her to anyone.
This class is very very hard. Plain and simple. But, if you work HARD and give it your all, you will pass with an A. Flood is the best teacher by far. She does all she can to ensure you get a good grade. Wouldn't recommend taking this class from any other professor as none will work as hard as Flood to help you get a good grade. She is the best!!!
Flood is the best! This class is a wild one, but she does everything she can to help you succeed. She is kind, funny and her lectures are awesome. However, get ready to study until you can't study anymore because this class is HARD and you really need to know the material to do well. Flood is the best!! Take her!!
This is by far the hardest class I've ever taken but if you work hard and really dedicate yourself, you can do it! Dr Flood does all she can to help you. She's super positive and encouraging and really wants you to be successful.
Dr Flood is UVUs best professor! Not only is she kind and positive, but she has an incredible teaching style. She explains things so well that even without any previous exposure to anything anatomy, I could comprehend everything quite quickly. This is the hardest I've ever had to work for a class, but this has also been the most rewarding class.
Dr. Flood is an amazing anatomy professor! She's the best one at UVU. This class is an already hard class but her lectures make everything more understandable. She curved everything to 80% this semester, not sure if she will do it for following semesters since our semester was rough and confusing administration-wise. She is very accommodating.
Dr Flood really wants you to succeed and is helpful with getting through this tough class! Her lectures outline everything you need to know for your test, and she showed us quick ways to remember lots of information. I would definitely take her again!
Professor Flood is freaking hilarious, seriously. She had me laughing all the time, she just has the greatest personality and that made me want to come to class and enjoy it. Anatomy is tough but she makes it a breeze, all she wants is for us all to do well. 3 tests and a final, and online homework quiz things weekly that're pretty much open book.
Dr. Flood is a very accommodating professor. She was extremely fair and honestly her tests were pretty easy. Fill out the ENTIRE study guide, review it a few times and you will be fine!
Grade broken down by 25 or so chapters with a weekly assignment attached to each one. Then, there is two mid terms and a final. ANATOMY IS NO JOKE, but Dr. Flood is very understanding and wants you to really succeed. Best anatomy lecture teacher in my opinion. Take it from her.
Sara was an amazing professor. Her online class was well organized consists of watching prerecorded videos, access to textbook, and weekly quizzes. She consistently reached out to her students for upcoming assignments. She is so willing to help you succeed in the class. There is obvious study guides that are replicate to the exams. Would recommend.
Great professor. Made anatomy lecture class stress-free. Curves your anatomy lab grade a lot. Very kind and caring. Helps her students feel calm and capable during the semester. Loved her.
BEST teacher I have ever had. I learned a ton and really enjoyed being in her class. When difficult topics would come up she would send out emails with encouragement. Go to the SI and TA session especially the Exam reviews they were very very helpful. Take this class and any class by Dr. Flood you will love it!
Professor Flood is amazing! Her lectures are fun to watch and she is always willing to help you in any way! She knows her stuff and knows how difficult anatomy can be. She never fails to give out words of encouragement to make sure we get through it! Anatomy is a tough course, take it from Flood and put in the work and you will succeed!
I wouldn't want to take this class from anyone but her! She gives you so many resources and is there to help. Weekly quizzes and tests about every 5 chapters. She curves all the tests! You'd be crazy not to take her.
Dr. Flood is great and very understanding. There are weekly quizzes on the material. She does video lectures. She provides a study guide that is directly related to the tests. Every study guide question corresponds to one test question. She looks out for her students and helps them succeed in any way she can.
Prof Flood has amazing lectures and is so so funny. She wants everyone to get an A so curves a lot and has study guides that tell you exactly what is going to be on the exams. Her TA also does a session before each exam and basically goes over exam questions exactly. Quizzes are right out of textbook, exams right out of lectures. Loved this class
She is a great professor, but taking it online on the summer block was difficult. Be prepared for hours of lecture videos and 2 weekly quizzes. She is a great professor, just expect to spend a lot of time! Her study guides were great and she was always super helpful at clarifying things I wasn't sure on.
She reads off of her slides (they are posted to canvas so you can go back and look at them) but she spends a majority of the class on the first slides and then spends the last 5 minutes of class on the last half of the slides. She makes study guides but they don't line up with the exams. She's nice and funny but I didn't like her as a professor.
Weekly quizzes through McGraw Hill. There are 2 big tests and a final, study the test reviews and they're not too bad.
Professor Flood is kind and funny! I personally learned best by reading the textbook, reviewing the lecture slides, and filling out the exam study guides and teaching myself each point over and over until I felt I could comfortably teach anyone. Regardless, she is helpful and knows her stuff and wants you to succeed! FILL OUT THE STUDY GUIDES.
Professor Flood is amazing and hilarious. She cares about her students and gives clear expectations as to what to expect. Her exams were closed book this semester but she provides clear study guides which help a ton. I would definitely take another class from her.
I took anatomy lecture with her. It wasn't anatomy focused tons of test questions talking about the causes of diseases and ridiculously specific and difficult questions. She was not cohesive with the anatomy lab in the slightest.
I think it would've been better not online, but she definitely cares about her students and wants them to succeed. I didn't agree with videos being counted towards participation because it was mainly her reading the slides. She does provide study guides (not totally comprehensive to test) and curves exam grades. Lot of SRI sessions available!
Dr Flood is the best!! Take anatomy from her and you will pass. She is so funny in her lectures and makes it so easy to understand material. She has study guides for each test and holds review sessions before each test. GO TO THOSE!!! They help you narrow down what to study and are the reason I was able to pass with a A+. Highly reccomend Dr Flood
Lectures are well structured. There are about 12 chapter quizzes on McGraw Hill, two 50-question exams, and one 70-question final exam. They are all closed-book/closed-note. However, she creates helpful study guides. You can attend the exam study guide sessions where the Student Instructors help you fill out the study guides. ATTEND S.I. SESSIONS
Dr Flood made lectures informative while also entertaining and memorable available and helpful if you are struggling invested in student success finds videos to better illustrate topics, provides mnemonics and study tips, in addition to SI and exam prep groups Provides exam study guide outlining topics she will test on
Dr. Flood is the best professor I've ever had. She is prepared and on time to class. She simplifies anatomy so that her students can understand. She only teaches the information needed and not any nonsense. She is hilarious and very entertaining. I learned so much from this course. She wants you to succeed!
Dr. Flood is AMAZING. She made time to meet with me since I had other classes during office hours and was so helpful! She gives study guides for every test and simplifies all the info so it's not as overwhelming. A quiz every week and 3 exams. I didn't do great on the first exam and that's the only reason i got a B+. LOVED THE CLASS.
This rating is for FSCI 3600, forensic anthropology. I was scared to attempt to take this online but she had a really fun class set up. One assignment every week with reading, no tests or quizzes! Very straightforward requirements. She graded fast and also emailed back super fast when I had questions too! Really enjoyed the class!
Dr. Flood is one of the most caring teachers that I have had. She truly cares for her students and their success. She is always willing to meet with you. The final is worth a big portion of your grade. She was very detailed reviews that will guide you during the exams.
Dr Flood was enjoyable to listen to in lectures. However, if she ever shows up, the lectures are extremely rushed. Tons of information. Read the book and understand it, if you want to learn. The reviews are hardly any help on the tests. Not many tests so each covers a TON of information. The tests are very particular to vocabulary, most correct opt
She provides helpful study guides but the tests each include a lot of chapters so the tests are long and fairly difficult. However, if you watch her lectures and prepare with the study guide, you'll do great. I'd recommed her.
I loved her class!! Her lectures are SO good, don't skip watching them, they help immensely with understanding harder concepts. There's 1-2 chapters per week, a weekly quiz and 3 tests. She releases a study guide for each test that outlines exactly what you need to study. If you take it from her and use the tools she prepares you can get an A.
The exams are nothing like the homework, and I can say that with my whole chest. She puts oddly specific questions into the exam and expects you to know it by memory. The study guides do NOT help whatsoever, and she leaves you feeling vulnerable. Do yourself a favor, and take it with someone else. I was 3.9 GPA student who got a C+.
Dr. Flood is an incredibly considerate and compassionate professor. Anatomy is a difficult course, and she did all that she could to make this course doable. She makes herself accessible during office hours, and her TA's hold review sessions. I feel that some of the other ratings of Dr. Flood are unfair. If you work hard you will do well.
This course was not set up well for summer - an overwhelming amount of material crammed into 7 weeks. I felt grossly underprepared for every test. Study guides were essentially "know the entire powerpoint." Class average test scores were around 60%. I never knew how or what exactly to study for exams. Overall a very frustrating experience.
This is literally just memorizing, and the class setup over summer worked better for some than others. Don't think I'll remember any of this though because I only crammed for the tests. Dr. Flood was always really accommodating when I'd email her, although the TA wasn't much help. Curves on each test were huge and were the only reason I got an A-.
Professor Flood has a different way of running her class. Her exams aren't based on the textbook, which can be confusing if you're trying to study from it. Instead, the exams focus a lot on her lecture slides, especially the underlined and bolded parts. She gives a ton of information, and keeping track of everything can be really tough.
Weekly quizzes based off the textbook and 4 exams based off her lectures. Lecture slides are made up of information directly from the textbook. The exams are super tough, but there are study guides and review sessions to help AND she curves. She is incredibly accommodating. It is not hard to be successful, just takes effort. Dr. Flood is amazing!!
I took this online course and would not take it again, she provided study guides for the exams, but it was more of a fill-it-out-by-yourself kind of thing, which turned into 20-page guides that I felt applied little to the tests, from 600 pages of the textbook she would pull out a tiny fact and expected you to know it.Great person, but didn't teach
Dr. Flood really cares about her students. She wants everyone to succeed and does her best to help out. But this class is not an easy class. I spent easily 5 hours a week studying for class. Tests follow the study guide so if you know the information on the study guide you will do well in class. But be prepared to put a lot of work into class.
I did the online Human Anatomy course with this professor and she was amazing. This course only had one assignment each week and the professor would give lots of learning material along with the textbook. The professor just wanted us to succeed and not fail, and there was no unneeded work. You basically just needed to study. Super nice class.
Her online class is awful, it's just an online textbook, you'll be learning completely on your own and not in a good way. The tests are not that relevant to the textbooks either. I would suggest just reading her slides and taking notes and looking up her answers for the textbook. Or better yet don't take her.
To be honest, I have no idea why she has such good reviews. I learned absolutely nothing from taking her class. I went to every single lecture, took notes, and went to the review study sessions but the tests were extremely difficult and did not align with the review study guide whatsoever. She is a great person but not a great anatomy professor.
Dr. Flood has been one of my all time favorite teachers at UVU. She is very caring and beyond knowledgeable when it comes to anatomy. She is always willing to work with you and will do everything she cans to help you succeed if you do the work.
She sets you up for success really well! She has lecture videos and slides that align with her tests and she specifically tells you to study the slides for the information you need. The TA reviews give specific slides for each question to help narrow what to study. If you put in the work you can get an A/B easily.
I don't leave reviews but Dr. Flood deserves all the praise she can get. Anatomy is a tough subject, but she does everything she can to help you succeed. You have to put in work, but she gives out study guides and study sessions that help you prepare for exams/finals. She's amazing! She's hilarious. My second time taking her. 10/10 would recommend!
Dr Flood is the best professor that UVU can have, she is amazing; I took anatomy with her fall 2024, and the best decision, anatomy is a hard class but Dr Flood mades her lectures super inspirational and easy for her students, she is always open to help her students.
PLEASE take Sarah Flood for Anatomy Lect! She does everything in her power to help you get an A. As long as you take the quizzes on time she gives you 100% She also gives free points on exams and curves the exams. She is amazing! Take her if you want an A in Anatomy!!
Take anatomy from Dr. Flood! She truly wants you to succeed if you try you will easily get the grade you want. Best advice is to go to to the TA exam review sessions they will tell you exactly what to study for each question. Participation was graded on random days. Tests were difficult multiple choice questions and the majority of the grade.
Flood is the best. She understands that anatomy is a hard class and does everything she can to make it easier. Her lectures are easy to follow, and her deadlines are fair. The study guide is a dream and outlines EVERY SINGLE QUESTION. There are no surprises on test day, and she loves to curve. She will move mountains to help you! Love her so much!!
Anatomy is such a hard course but Flood does anything she can to make this an easy class. TAKE HER TRUST ME! Things graded on for entire semester- weekly smart book, weekly attendance, one group project, 3 tests.
I took this class online but I wish I took it in person. Dr. Flood is brilliant!! Anatomy is hard, but stay consistent with studying and you'll do just fine. She'll tell you exactly what will be on the exams. The final was easier than the other 2 midterms, & she's very generous with grade inflation. You'll get what you put in + some. She's great.
she was great. if you have to take anatomy take it from her. really tries to see you succeed as a student. curved all the tests and gave opportunities for extra credit. every lecture was available after class. Great TAs and she's is available during office hours.
Flood is great! She really cares about her students and does what she can to help you succeed. She has her TA's do very helpful exam reviews which are recorded. I would recommend to go to those in person. Listen to those over and over! Do the work and you will get an A.
As long as you keep up with the lectures and homework, you'll be fine.
This class is super overwhelming because it covers A LOT. Be prepared going into it that you will not retain everything and THAT'S OKAY. Dr. Flood gave good lectures but was rather scatter brained during the semester I had her due to personal life things. The TA's are very helpful and GO TO THE STUDY GUIDE REVIEW BEFORE TESTS. That is how I passed.
This class is a lot Anatomy is tough but i feel the reviews for the test help a lot this class is more easier than the lab. She is always there and i like that she films her lectures so if you don't go you can still see the lectures and the only homework are the pre- quiz chapters. Nice class a little confusing but good!
She really wants you to pass and will curve tests and help you understand the material. GO TO THE EXAM REVIEW SESSIONS. they literally go over the all the things that will be on the test.
I beg. Do ZOOL2320 with Flood. Not only is she incredibly kind but also lenient. She gave a curve on every exam and the review sessions are a must. You get the slide of what content you need to remember. Initially it's intimidating, tons of reading, but once you get into the hang of it, it's easier as long as you keep up. You got this! Choose Sara.
Please Take Flood! I loved having her as a teacher, however there was a ton of reading and homework heavy. She was entertaining and made it clear what she expected. As well as telling us what to expect on exams, all material used was from her slides. She wants you to succeed, gave curves on all exams, and had review sessions.
My best recommendation is to get as many credits as possible before taking this course so you can guarantee yourself a spot in Flood's class. She was clear about expectations and didn't ask a lot from students save daily attendance. Listen to her lectures and the TAs during review sessions and you won't get anything less than an A.
