Easily one of the best professors I've ever had. She's incredibly funny and her lectures are really fun to sit through. She allows you to turn in papers early for feedback & pretty much shows you how to get an A. Mid-semester, I couldn't go to class anymore & she worked with me outside of class to make sure I'd be able to finish & pass. 10/10.

SHE IS INCREDIBLE!!! If you need to take history of any sort, take her class! She is so hard to not get along with, her class is so comfortable and easy to learn in. She gives you SO many opportunities to get an A and always gives tons of feedback. She's absolutely hilarious and she actually had a great way of covering material! TAKE HER CLASSES!

Great professor. The semester started off a little rocky but that was simply due to everyone being uptight and a little nervous in the beginning, especially when most students failed the first exam, but as the semester went on everyone, including the professor, began to open up and the lectures became more energetic. Professor Gottwalles is one of my favorite professors I've ever had. I took her summer course, a 3 hour class & it was easy to follow along & not get bored. She made class interesting. If you attend class she'll send you the slides, just take notes on what she repeats in her lectures. Medium difficulty tests, easy essay topics, but great class !

Professor Gottwalles is probably one of the best professors at FSW. She is passionate about history and it clearly rubs off onto the entire class. Her lectures are fun yet informative and she doesn't try to trick you when you're taking a test. History can be a boring topic but this professor knows how to spice things up! She's the best!

I took her Summer B class. 4 test, 3 essay, 4 discussions and extra credit. Lectures were very interesting. Attendance will give you extra points. Overall she is an excellent Professor.

Professor Gottwalles is such an amazing teacher. I took two of her classes and I did learn a lot even when I first thought that history was not for me. She has you take notes from Powerpoint, but you have to be in class in order to get the PowerPoints afterwards. She only has tests, essays (very easy), and discussions on canvas. I HIGHLY recommend.

Professor Gottwalles was a great professor, easy A! Took her history class over summer and it was a little boring because its history, but as long as you take good notes and study, you'll pass! Her exams have all the same material as your notes from class lecture. Her sense of humor is dry and shes sarcastic, but its funny and it grows on you.

Total of four tests including the final. If you attend class, she sends you the powerpoint for that day as soon as class ends. Gives study guides before each test, and if you review each study guide and the powerpoints too, its and easy A. This class was very fun, she kept everyone engaged and cracks jokes all class.

Professor Gottwalles is a very intellectual and passionate professor. History is not my most interesting subject, but she made class very interesting and I looked forward to going to her class. You will do great as long as you go to class and study for her tests. Essays are not that hard for a writing intensive course. Highly recommend her!

I don't like taking history classes, but it was required for my to obtain my degree. Having said that, she is the best history professor I've had in all of my education. She works with you on what you need to do to pass, and is very kind and respectful and smart. Definitely a highlight of my semester.

She sends out lecture PowerPoints out to everyone that attended class. With that being said if you didn't attend you don't get the PowerPoints. Extra credit is give. Gottwalles is the BEST. I've never really liked history classes in the past so I didn't think this class was going to be any different... I was wrong. She is passionate, engaging, and gives you study guides and a lot of extra credit opportunity. Show up, participate, study, and you'll do good. She is very accessible and cares about her students!!

She's an easy going teacher. She wants you to pass the course so she makes everything simplified. Tests: 5 multiple choice, a couple fill in the blanks, and a short essay. There's ALWAYS extra credit so remember the little things she emphasizes in class. Don't study, you won't pass. Don't show up, you won't get the slides. Simple. Work for it.

This Professor was fabulous! She was very clear, here lectures are fun, and she tries to bring in some humor. The class grade was based on tests, discussion posts, and essays. Even if you are not a big writer or test taker she made everything easy to understand. I have always hated history, but this professor made me love it! I would recommend her!

If you show up to class, and pay attention, there's no way you could fail. Her tests are covered in the notes and study guides, and the essays she assigns are actually fun to write!

Professor Gottwalles is passionate about history reflecting in the way she teaches. Presenting interesting lectures with short videos, interactive group activities, and displaying historical artifacts. The field trip to the museum in Cape Coral was also very interesting. Reasonable classwork, study guides, and opportunities for extra credit.

Professor G was great! She makes history class exciting and interesting. If you attend class you get the powerpoint lectures. She gives tests with extra credit opportunities, to better your grade. She also allows you to turn in a rough draft for papers, for her to edit and send back. Best history teacher I've had!

Took World history 1815-Present over the summer. Wish I took a full term, her lectures were inspirational, personal and, relevant. I have to thank her, I discussed American history with new family over the Thanksgiving dinner table casually, confidently, not just talking points, and made new friends as a result.

This is not your average history class! Professor Gottwalles lectures dont put you to sleep. She is amazing and tries her best to to make the class enjoyable. took her for a mini-B sum sem - usually classes feel SO rushed, incomplete, unwilling to show up to class, but every class was fascinating. I took Vivyan just to fall asleep in his class, but she's too exciting to let that happen! Videos and movies are included in lectures, which you should show up to understand for the (easy)tests, essays lil hard

She's amazing and so caring, she knows that we have lives and allows things to be turned in late as long as it's not often. Her presentations have a lot of information, and a lot to write/take notes on but if you're present for class that day she will send the slides from that class. If you study her study guides and pay attention you'll do great.

Professor Gottwalles was the best! Probably the best professor on campus. You can tell she really cares about what she's teaching. There are 4 tests and 3 essays but she helps you A LOT when it comes to the tests! The final exam is the 4th test and they're not cumulative. There's always extra credit on the tests which really helps! Loved her!

She is literally the best! 4 super easy papers, 4 super easy tests, 5 super easy discussions ( no replying to students! ) and thats it!!! she makes it super easy for you and is there for you and cares about you!! This was a writing intensive class. Her video lectures were fabulous and very interesting. I learned A LOT!!! She gives you the test answers, high lights and a study guide so take notes, study those and you'll do fine. Plenty of opportunities for extra credit. Great feedback on your papers. If you do not pass with an A, you are your own problem!

Prof G is hands down my fav professor I have ever taken. She tells you exactly how to pass and will help you whenever possible. Her class is tough in the sense where you actually have to take notes and write the papers, but she makes it very easy. Definitely take if you need your history credit and want to learn a lot without the stress

If you are looking for a history professor who is flexible and understands life outside of college, this is for you. Even though I struggled with learning the content and always have, she offered easy extra credit that brought me from barely passing to a B. She is very kind, her lectures are interesting and amazing and she will bump your grade.

Professor Gottwalles has what it takes to get you to understand and appreciate history. If you listen to the lectures and participate, you will do well. She has a quirky sense of humor that I like. She offers lots of out of the ordinary opportunities to learn like listening then interviewing to a holocaust survivor and admiring her antiques.

Prof. Gottwalles was very sweet and caring. If she notices you're trying she will give you chances for extra credit. She always reemphasizes things during her lectures that will be on the exams so take notes! She did have a good sense of humor and made class interesting with her teaching style that made it easy to follow along.

She's an excellent professor. Her lectures are attention drawing; she explains the concepts really well. The only assignments we have are a paper at the end of the class and the exams every 2 weeks or so. I took her 2 days out of the week, with 4 other classes and she made it easy to handle.

I would recommend this class. She only has 4 quizzes. She also reviews the questions before you take the test, and her assignments are simple: you don't need to reply to other students' discussion posts; there's only one essay. It's an oral history. She gives plenty of time to complete it and provides extra credit.

She is very laid back and chill, but that doesn't mean she doesn't do the work. The work is easy and simple, and when she gives you something to do at home, it is usually easy and nothing too hard. She is also one of the best teachers/professors I have ever had in my life.
