Nice teacher. A LOT of HW. Tests are a little hard. Overall, easy B. Makes sure you know about her office hours, and shes always offering to help. Friendly.
Hard, but don't hesitate to ask for help. tests are hard, butif you study and ask questions you'll get an A. She is extremly helpful if you take the time to allow her to be. She talks a little fast, but you get used to it.
she is the coolest teacher i have had office hours are the best do the hwork and go to office hours for help and you will get an A. She is beautiful too. Take her class you wont regret it
Graves is the best chem. teacher that I have ever had. I wish all of them could be as helpful and fair as she.
Best teacher in the world! Not an easy class but offers endless amounts of her time to help you..
Best Chem professor ever! lecctures=clear, tests/quizzes=easy, labs=fun, helpful, just do things on time and you'll get an A. take her, you wont regret!
She is the God of chemistry. I majored chemistry after taking her class!!!
Run as fast as you can she will ruin your GPA for you.By all means avoid her class or you'll regret it
horrible teacher.Whatever she goes over in lecture for sure is not going to be on the test.
Let's put it this way I'd rather be on fear factor and eat a blended rat than take her class. She will make you hate chemistry. Don't do it!!!
she gives these VERY tricky questionson the test, the tests are impossible.
i can just say dont take this class if you are going to get a good grade in this course
She was the worst chem teacher ever. I dropped her class in the middle of the semester, cause she does not teach anything. In her class the book is the teacher not her. The tests are hard.
dont take class with her ,she is mad smug teacher she cant teach anything
Crystal clear, it's hard NOT to understand her, even if you're not paying attention. EXTREMELY helpful, she is always available, always willing to help, and while not a very social person, it really does appear like she cares about her students and the subject she's teaching. She will make you WORK whether you like it or not, however.
Fools are crazy. Chemistry is HARD, deal with it. Yes, it's a hard class but not because of the teacher. She is very helpful and clear on what she wants. Tests come out of homework/classwork. She seems a little nervous when teaching but I think it's just because she's a younger prof.
she is a really nice professor, but her test are very difficult. The labs are the harder part of the course. She does try to keep lecture and lab as close as she can. If u want to take this class u have to study a lot
She is a great teacher. people who are saying that she is hard and and stuff are the lazy students. i had her for chem 101 she was clear ands gave us a lot of practice work for the tests. i still go to her because my 102 teacher sucks, she clarifies everything even molecular orbitals!!!!!!! :)
most helpful teacher ever. We had a chem101 group on facebook and used to ask all the questions we had. She answers to all the questions BUT she teaches so fast and her tests are hard. This class requires a lot of time to study. NOT an easy A but she will drop one of the 4 tests and substitudes the final grade w/ one of the other tests.
Dr. Harvey is incredible! Explains everything very clearly and is always willing to help her students. She makes Chemistry fun and easy! I took her for Chemistry 60 and got an A through studying notes, doing homework and paying attention in class. Highly recommended.
Shes the best chem instructor at Pierce.clear, helpful, has office hours, study groups. I hated Lab portion in past, she made it easy and fun. I recommend her if you want to learn/try out chemistry. If you think her class is hard you need to better your conscience regarding college. She's flawless and I wish I had more professors like her. chem=hard
Extremely helpful. Always there to help a student out. Chem 101 can be confusing, but she makes it as clear as possible and takes the time to work out the details. Knows what she's doing, both as a chemist and as a teacher. :)
She's really nice and care about her students. she makes chemistry understandable.!(:
MOST AMAZING PROFESSOR. There is no one better than her. Shes perfect. Explain you what you need to know, and if you do what she says you will get a good grade. You have to study, and try hard but if you do you can acheive the grade you want shes amazing!!!!!!!
Awesome Professor. Very clear. She wants her students to success. Labs and workshop are mandatory attendence. Lectures are not. Study guide helps prepare students for quizzes and tests. If u study you"ll do fine. Great teacher. I recommend taking her class!!!!
Wonderful professor take her for sure! Chem is a hard subject so dont expect an easy A but she makes the subject interesting and fun. Always around for help and always answers questions. She makes office hours into study time.
She is a great professor, will def. help you during her office hours, will go over things to make sure you understand them. She clarifies things over and over (if needed). She answers any questions you have during lec and lab. I would recommend her to anyone. Tests are easy (if you study and do homework) and she doesn't overload with homework.
She is the most amazing professor by far. Always available and willing to help. I used to hate Chemistry but now I'm even thinking about changing my major to chemistry thanks to her. I would most def. take any class she offers.
Dr. Harvey always provided additional help to anyone who asked. She was very clear and easy to understand. She was also very fare in grading.
Tests/quizzes are easy and all the information is covered in the lectures. She is always willing to help students during office hours or whenever she can. I recommend taking her classes.
she made practice tests, assigned less masteringchemistry than other professors, she drops one of the midterms, her tests are easy in that she doesn't give hardcore nasty cumulative problems - they're more straight to the point of do you know the material? she makes a facebook group - which you will find ends up being super helpful. Take Dr. Harvey
She is an excellent teacher-helpful & straight forward. Posts practice exams that simulate the actual exams. Although, the final exam is a bit more involved than the final practice exam, just a fare warning. Don't be silly & go to lab w/o having read the lab & preparing your pre-lab work, you will pay for this when you sit down to do lab reports.
SHES AMAZING. makes it fun to go to class, shes patient, and extremely helpful. ONLY take her for gen chems, no one else.
she's so helpful, so sweet, patient, loves her students, truly helps them, tests you on material that has been covered. gives sample exams the final was a bit tricky, but other than that she's extremly fair! ONLY TAKE HER, don't even waste your time in another class.
She's definitely my favorite prof. she's sweet, kind, and smart. she teaches subject as clear as crystal.
One of the best science teachers out there. If you can take her, do it, you won't regret it. Sometimes blunt, but come on, she's a scientist, not a poet.
my interest was profoundly increased by the image beauty placed in front of me.
Very blunt! Gives a lot of attitude to her students especially during lab. I thought she was an okay professor. Rushed alot of the material. I wouldn't recommend her for Chemistry 102.
Dr.Harvey is the most most amaizing Professor at Pierce. She loves teaching, but hates when a student doesnt come prepared to class (read the section, do the HW and try to understand what your asking before you ask a Q). If you put in effort you are more than likely to get the help you need and consequently do great in her class. You'll learn alot!
She is the best!! Had her for my Chem 60 lab. So helpfull. She is very clear in her experiments. Loved to her classes! Highly recommend you should take her!!
Dr. Harvey is a great professor. She explains the material in a very clear way and is extremely helpful to her students. All you have to do is ask for help and she will go out of her way for you.
great chemistry teacher . very helpful. alot of material to take in but completely doable. always available to her students for help. office hours and work shops are very helpful.
Dr. Harvey is a phenomenal chemistry professor. She turns what is a difficult subject for many, into an approachable and fun one! She is incredibly helpful and always welcoming to students during her office hours. If you read the book, attend lecture, take good notes, and study A LOT you will be able to attain an excellent grade in her class!
Super easy A!!! I still got A for this class, even I also took Physics 102 and Cal 3 at the same time.(I got A for all of 3 classes). Just spend around 2 hours per week to do some homework, and practice on the exam preview, you will be fine.
Dr Harvey is the best teacher I ever had. Very clear and love teaching. she spend so much time helping you on office hours. she has her notes and power point and facebook group. she gives you few old exams to practice and final exam to work on before final. Take this professor she is the best. I had a little past knowledge about chem 101 and got A.
Perfection! Absolutely Amazing. She truly cares about every one of her students. Assigns a lot of work but it eventually pays off. During lab she makes sure everyone feels confident in what they're doing. Attending class is a must because she is crystal clear when lecturing. 3 exams and a final (worth 35% and a lot harder than her exams).+she's hot
BEST CHEMISTRY PROFESSOR AT PIERCE. SHE LOVES THE SUBJECT AND CARES A LOT ABOUT HER STUDENTS. TAKE HER AND YOU'LL FIND CHEMISTRY VERY INTERESTING. I'LL TAKE HER AGAIN FOR ALL MY CHEM CLASSES.
If only all teachers taught like she did. Wow! Just Wow!
Dr. Sara Harvey teaches well. However, her exams are ridiculously hard. Even if you read the sample test questions you will still be surprised with trick questions. I am a good student got B in 101 However I got a C in her class. Definitely deserved a B. If U want an A it's kin of impossible.
Shes amazing. Not a free grade by all means, but a great teacher and a great person. Really knows her stuff.
She is probably the best science teacher at Pierce. Be polite and pay attention to her lecture, which is not hard because she is a delight. All the activities are synchronized, lecture is related to workshop and both of those are related to lab (as much as possible). She is always at her office for office hours ready to help. She is the best.
If you wanna learn to love Chemistry, this is the professor for you! She is helpful, kind, compassionate and very understanding. She explains problems really well, and she is willing to go over anything you are having trouble with during office hours. She is really easy on the eyes too ;)
Dr. Sara Harvey is very intelligent. I took Chem 60 with her, she is always there for her students. She always answer every single question you ask. She gave us a quiz every week and an exam every two weeks. The final is cumulative. She drops the lowest quizexam. Be prepared to study a lot it is not an easy class but it is possible to get an A.
Dr. Harvey is one of the smartest professors I've had, and not only is she smart but she knows how to teach. The tests are easy of you pay attention and do good on the quizzes. I would love to take her again.
Although Dr. Harvey is not my lecturer, I still want to voice how awesome she is. Dr. Harvey is a chemistry buff (she has a PhD, duh), and she is super down to earth and is always willing to help with lab work or with questions from lecture. I'm just amazed by her and her approach at mentoring her students. Take her if you want to learn chemistry!
I didnt had a great experience with her. Chem can be an interesting subject but with her was impossible. Looses her patience among her students. Gets fustrated easily if you don't get it the first time. This is Chemistry! Not an easy subject. Came to her office hrs for help and just told me "where are my notes"! Not helpful. Avoid taking her!
She loves what she does and is very nice about explaining a concept multiple times, unlike most professors. Do all the homework and the practice exams and there should not be a reason to not get an A in the class. She REALLY hates side conversations during class so be quiet and pay attention!
I found her to be a nice professor but her tests are NOT easy. Study her older exams that she makes available online to make sure you really understand the concepts. With mandatory workshop, 4-hour lab and lecture, this class will require a LOT of your time. Be ready for that and good luck!
Amazing professor! Made me love coming to class, great lectures and a thorough study guide help make the subject easy. Exams are based entirely on practice exams, easy to get 90+ on them if you practice. Made us do homework in class so we wont have to struggle at home and actually understand the material. Would love to take her again (if I could).
Dr. Harvey was an awesome professor. She is one of my favorite professors ever. I wish I could take her again. Her exams are pretty easy with maybe one trick question on each one, but these questions are worth very few points so you can still easily get an A. She is very willing to help her students and is super enthusiastic about the subject.
Dr. Harvey is an amazing professor. She is super clear in lab and lectures. The tests are not easy if you don't take you're time and study. She gives you every chance to do good in class. Take her and you'll enjoy going to class, just do one thing and DO NOT talk while she's talking, it's rude and she doesn't like it. She's also very pretty ;)
Easily one of the most PASSIONATE and DEVOTED teachers at the school. I am so glad she was promoted to the Chem Chair as now I know someone really is advocating for us! She is always there for you. Office hours are probably the most useful tool you can utilize. I want Dr. Harvey to teach all of my classes! You will NOT regret taking her class :)
All i got to say is that she is the best. I recommend her to everyone! i never had a professor so amazing. theres 4 exams and final. She gives practice exams for every test which helps a lot and if you get an answer wrong on her eam she always gives particial credit. shes really fair and nice, i love her!
Dr. Harvey is by far one of the best teachers I have ever had. She is super caring about her students and will go the extra mile to make sure you understand the material. She is also very clear with her expectations. She gives practice exams which really help. Study and you'll for sure pass her class.
This was tough for me, since I'm a LS major, not Chemistry, but my work paid off. She talks very fast in lecture &lab, but is willing to clarify later. Office hours are crowded. Few tricky/obscure questions on tests. Gives lots of old practice exams online. If you really get chemistry, unlike me, it's an easy A. I had to put in more effort, though.
She is the best I have ever seen at Pierce College. She really knows her material very well and she cares about her student the most. She gives practice exams, which actual exams mostly look like them, and she is also amazing in lab. Study lecture by lecture and solve all the exams, and you will get easy A + you will learn Chemistry a lot.
she is the best chemistry professor ever. she does every thing for you to learn chemistry. she drops your lowest exam. lol but she talks so fast. I am not good at chemistry AT ALLLL. but i got an A in her class. all you need to do is go over the previous exams and do mastering chemistry.
Professor Harvey is very professional and genuinely cares about her students. She is a great teacher and is very patient with students. Her office hours are very useful they can get very crowded during test. She post her old exams on Canvas which are amazing study material for the exam. I would highly recommend her to anyone taking 102.
HAND DOWN!! Prof. Harvey is definitely the most caring professor I have ever had during my entire college experience. I don't understand where these bad reviews that she doesn't put in the time to answer questions have come from?? What? She does anything she can to make sure everyone understands the material really well. SHE'S AN ANGEL!! TAKE HER
SHE'S AMAZING!! Very professional and educated and cares about her students.
Harvey is a really great professor and has good intentions with her students. She gives you several years worth of her previous exams for each exam she'll give you and her tests are basically a combination of all of those, everything on there is what you'll need to know-no surprises. If you study them you can for sure get an A.
She is an amazing professor. She encourages questions and wants everyone to succeed. I created a Rate my Professor account just so I can give her a great rating.
Best prof, would recommend. Gives access to previous exams, very helpful, and is willing to work with students during office hours. Very approachable. Take her!
Best science prof Ive ever had. Extremely intelligent and highly organized in both lecture and lab. Exams are mostly free-answer, final isnt like the rest of the exams so study hard for the final. Grades fairly on time. Definitely purchase the study guide she has. And do MasteringChem hw. And dont skip lecture! Youll fall behind easily.
Dr. Harvey is intelligent. The class consists of online homework, 3 exams, and a final. The exams were difficult but if you study you should at least get a C. Overall, she is a good professor. Very helpful, but the course was difficult as expected. Try your best, DO NOT SLACK OFF even if you think you can. No room for slackers. Chem isnt easy....
Dr. Harvey is very nice, but the exams are very difficult and I don't think she actually cares about the future of the students. Very fast paced during lecture and the final is nothing like the exams so make sure to get ready and study a lot. Only good thing is that her final replaces your lowest exam. Other than that, she's okay.
Dr Harvey truly is a master of chemistry. Her class will break you down because there is so much hw and the exams really are difficult, but I assure you, pay attention in EVERY lecture, do the assignments, give it your absolute best, and you will learn so much. My only qualm is that she can be a bit feisty if you ask too many questions
Dr. Harvey is a great teacher. The material is EXTREMELY difficult but she knows exactly what she is talking about. This class is not an easy A though. You really do have to put a lot of time into it and go to her office hours for guidance. SHE IS VERY HELPFUL. Lab gets really tiring and I wanted to cry 50 times during experiments. Have fun!
An absolutely excellent professor. She has a pdf of notes, practice problems, and reference tables for each chapter that you cover. If I'm being honest, I never opened the textbook because this document she created was so thorough. She has the patience of mountains, and will answer every question. She is very in tune with the students' needs.
Best chemistry professor. She is the department head yet she is very humble. If you know nothing about chemistry, you can listen to her lecture and it will make sense to you. I am glad that I took her. I wish she was teaching more than one chem.102 class so that all the students can get a chance to take her for chem.102 and learn from her.
She is the best chemistry professor. She replaces your lowest exam scores with your final. Her lectures are really good. She gives you lots of opportunity for practice. Take her, and do some practice problems you can pass her class with 100%
Harvey is the best professor for chemistry within the LACCD system. She clearly tells you what you need to study for her exams, gives you countless examples of every type of problem that you will encounter on the exams and makes the lab time very constructive and focused. You literally just have to listen to what she says and you can get an A
This is the only class I am actually excited to come to school for. She cares so much about the kids and does everything she can to make sure they succeed. She has previous exam keys as practice and is always available for office hours. She makes everything so easy to understand and the tests are very straightforward. I love chem because of her.
I was an atheist until I took Dr Harveys class because now I actually believe shes an angel. Never in my life have I seen a professor as excellent as she is. If u r lucky enough to be in her class, dont waste time and study Hard. Chem 102 is a lot of work but the A is yours if u manage ur time and study systematically. And dont skip class
Dr. Harvey knows how to teach. She is patient and helps students whenever she can. Study her practice exams, they'll be helpful for the exams (4 exams including final). she drops the lowest grade if you do well on the final. Don't miss her lectures if you want to learn.
I am happy that I took Chem 102 with Professor Harvey. She really tries to help all of her students. Her tests come directly from her lectures, homework, and sample tests. The only complain that I have is that she does not follow the order of her lecture notes and she teaches half of the material in workshops and labs. I really recommend taking her
great teacher!! she is always willing to help students through any difficulty. She is extremely nice and really know chemistry very well.
Great professor. Does A LOT to prepare you for tests and it really helps. Explains things very well. When she talks about a concept, she always tells us the reasoning behind it which will help you remember everything, not just memorize it. Use the materials she gives for test practice and u probably won't get lower than a B on a test. Def take her!
Harvey is amazing. It is a difficult class but she explains things great. Make sure you practice whatever she tells you to and you'll be fine. For exams, she lets you look at the past 4 semesters and tells you problems to focus on, and her exams are similar. Lecture is not mandatory but you get a grade for workshop (which is practice). Take her!!
Professor Harvey was amazing. Due to the pandemic during the semester, we had to switch to the online class (both lab and lecture), but she tried to make everything easier for us (recording lectures, great workshops, and etc).she is very kind and caring. chem 102 is not an easy class, get ready to study, but Dr. Harvey helps you a lot. Good Luck!
Dr. Harvey will make you work but her practice tests and office hours clear everything up. Do the extra problems in the book when you can, and do practice tests before the test- you will do grea. I really appreciate that she takes the time to explain anything I get confused on at office hours. She had practice questions in class, which helped lots.
Please don't give yourself a heart attack by taking her, this is not fair in pandemic putting so much pressure on students and heavy test and tough in grading. So Big NO! just run away!
Avoid at all costs. For context I am in the honors program and was a straight A student. Ive had hard profs and classes before. But she is a gpa crusher. She doesnt care about any student. Terrible teacher. Wont learn and will be punished for it. Avoid this professor
She gave good lecture and was easy to ask questions. This class is one of the hardest at Pierce. This semester was tough online and knowing that she still wouldnt round anyones grade who had a 79 or 89. The mental stress from this class is exhausting and having so many assignments doesnt help you study. She only gave us 4 days to study for final
She doesnt respond to any emails, takes forever to grade, and doesnt consider that were in a PANDEMIC. Her grading was tough and she wasnt lenient at all. Take it at another school dont put yourself through the stress and mental deterioration. Disappointed because I had heard so many good things about her when classes were in person.
Heard many great things about this professor and was excited to take her, but the class is completely different online than it was in person. She made the tests harder and gave us old practice tests to study off but was not helpful. I understood the material from her teaching but if you do bad on the exams you will not pass the class.
I should have known not to take Harvey! Her class is so unclear and unorganized. Her lectures don't really help at all and when the exam day comes, nothing makes sense. She needs more structure in her teaching style because it is very disoriented. She gives a bunch of practice exams and it is very hard to choose what you should study.
DO NOT TAKE HARVEY!!! SHE WILL RUIN YOUR GPA. Her class is so unclear and doesn't prepare you for exams. Do yourself a favor and avoid her!
I don't know why Harvey has such high ratings, she is one the most inconsiderate professors, especially during a PANDEMIC! Her tests are so difficult and she doesn't even curve... If you have the choice to take chemistry at another school, please do so. Oh and she doesn't round either.
I'm not going to lie, Chem 102 is a hard class but Professor Harvey is a great teacher and is very patient with her students. She will go over something 5 times if she has to to ensure everyone understands so I never felt weird to ask questions. Her tests are very hard so if you're not a good test taker then you should avoid her.
I don't get all the bad reviews. Her class is really easy, and she has a ton of office hours that you can go and ask questions. Overall she is very nice and caring. All her tests are from practice tests However this class is extremely math-heavy so if u suck at it, start practicing cause if you try to memorize rather than understand, you will fail.
Dr. Harvey is an amazing professor and she is super caring, her lectures are great, but her exams are very difficult, you must study hard. Overall, this class is not an easy one, but you can learn a lot.
She's a good teacher to take. The layout of all the assignments and lessons are confusing at first, but once you get it, you see that it is actually super organized. She also makes sure to be available to students when they need help. Also she goes over past concepts(from prereq classes) briefly instead of just glossing over it.
I LOVE PROFESSOR HARVEY!! She is one of the nicest, and most caring professors that I have ever had. The labs were kind of confusing but she would literally do them with us in office hours so that we got them right! If you do all the practice exams, then she literally takes exact questions from old exams and puts them on the test. Overall, amazing!
Although I only had Dr. Harvey for my lab section I can confidently say she is an amazing and caring professor. She often posts videos to walk you through what needs to be done and explains everything in an understandable manner. She has office hours almost every day and is always willing to help. If you follow directions you will for sure get an A
One of the best professors I've had! Dr. Harvey genuinely cares for her students and is willing to take the time out of her hands to help students out. Attend her lectures and review the practice exams! If you put in the work in her class, you'll most likely get an A.
There is so much homework for this class that you won't have time to focus on her tests. Her last exam was the most difficult, in my opinion. I came across some new questions that I had never seen before. She definitely wanted us to fail. Her labs are OK, although they may be stressful. She is helpful when it comes to answering your questions.
Tough class, but Dr. Harvey made it digestible. She would often distinguish between "This is a math problem" & "This is the chemistry part" which helped identify where you needed to concentrate your practice. And there was lots of practice- tons of online homework & practice exams. She is encouraging, invites open discussion & believes in us!
She went through lab lectures quickly, so it was hard to keep up with what to do for labs a lot of the time. However, she always walked around the lab to see if anyone needed help, which was good. The lab quizzes were kind of confusing because we didn't know which ones to study for, but they weren't really difficult. Overall, she was pretty good.
Dr. Harvey's lack of patience made asking questions a very uncomfortable experience. While she periodically checked in t/o lab procedures, needing any additional feedback was usually met with impatience. The added factors of her inaccessible summer office hours + not responding to her e-mails, created so much un-necessary stress.
Wonderful professor who really makes an effort to explain all the topics covered. Some topics felt slightly rushed but not in a manner that felt as though it was not adequately covered. These topics typically did not have a very high priority either. Very lenient homework assignments and majority of the grade (70%) is attributed to exam scores.
Dr. Harvey is one of the best chemistry professors I have had. She makes it so easy to learn the different topics and it is really helpful that she does not require us to memorize the formulas. Her lectures were interesting and there was lots of practice problems.
This class was fairly easy if you have good time management and work hard. Her exams are easy, very similar to practice exams. She is understanding, caring, and always willing to help. Aleks was a bit of a pain but very doable. It isn't an easy A class, but it isn't difficult to get an A. Definitely take her she makes chemistry really easy to grasp
She is one of the most strict and tough grader professors I've ever seen in my life. I had 79 percent and she unfairly gave me a C. She does not consider your effort, and only grades you based on what you get on the test. Once she had taken 6 points off of my test by mistake. I promise this is going to be the most difficult class of your life.
Despite Dr. Harvey's apathy toward her students, she is a competent and fair lecturer who tries her best to explain difficult topics in a digestible way. Her exams somewhat resembled the study guides but with added challenge and complexity. Her exam curves are laughable, but at least she replaces the lowest score with the final if you improve.
As a lab professor, she's okay. Assignment criteria/expectations are sometimes cloudy and we didn't really find out our grades until the end of the semester. But, she does help you with labs and calculations if you need it. Sometimes she comes off as passive aggressive but usually gives good explanations. Good luck trying to reach her via email.
Go to class, do the work, and you'll be fine. Had her for 102 last spring and although she may come off as strict, she's a good prof. Very clear directions and the content isn't as difficult as some people make it out to be. It's not difficult to get an A as long as you try & put in the time.
She is very intimidating at first, but once you get to know her she is awesome. She is so smart and learning from her was one of the greatest honors! I really wish I could've had an actual course with her, because she is so good at teaching the lab material. She is very fast, so if you're slower at learning, make sure you ask her to slow down!
Her understanding the topics so well made her explain concepts good. Exams & final weighed heavily, but have partial credit & practice exams. If u pay attention and ask questions in WS, you'll be fine. May take a while to grade. Pay attention in lab lectures so u know what you're doing. Offers extensions! Overall great class and you'll learn a lot
Dr. Harvey was amazing! Her class can be challenging at times but she gives really good outlines for how to succeed in assignments and exams. Her practice exams are similar to the ones she gives and she grants a lot of partial credit. Has a ton of office hour opportunities and is overall a really kind professor.
This professor truly cares about students and explains the lectures very well. All the homework and everything else is extremely organized, and she explains everything in detail. Everything is very easy to understand, and she engages students really well. I loved her class and highly recommend her to everyone.
Dr. Harvey is a fair and engaging professor. Her class can be challenging, but with effort and use of resources like Unstuckstudy, you can succeed. Attend class, do the work, and you'll learn a lot.
I won't take her class again. I suggest you don't do that either; you're wasting your time
Get ready to teach yourself because she overcomplicates the easiest things and barely teaches the more complex topics. This is more of a "figure it out yourself" kind of class, but the practice problems are way too easy to prepare us for the material she gives on the homework and quizzes. Not worth it. Take Prof Eskandarloo instead.
No Extra Credit. Did not grade for two whole months. Absent without notice for two weeks, and given a professor that taught completely different. Hard to talk to, or approach. Every week you have at least 2 quizzes, 3 being the most. The quizzes are SO DIFFICULT. I am a 4.0 student, and now I'm not. Take a teacher that cares about your grade.
She intentionally gives you homework on topics a week before we learn them so that we have to learn them ourselves. The homework is not easy either. She gives hard homework, easy practice problems in lectures and trick questions on the exam. How has been teaching for this long and doing stuff like this? She is not approachable either. Dont take her
Really good at teaching. 2 quizzes each week. The final was harder then the other tests. 3 tests. Lab was fun. She is easy to talk to and answers questions well.
Do not take this professor unless you want to have the worst semester of your life. She is not accessible outside of class. She gives you a study guide for one thing and puts something completely different on the exams. She is not a welcoming person when it comes to asking for help. Lastly, she does NOT care about your grade.
I've never performed so well in a science class before and it's all because of Dr. Harvey. Attend office hours, ask questions, and she'll help you happily. Three exams, one (very hard) cumulative final, 10 quizzes, and 2 homework assignments per week. She even gives amazing tips to succeed. Put in effort and she'll help you. Take her class!!
