I am a student who is exceptional at mathematics. However, this was the most confusing class I have ever taken in my life! It's not that the actual subject matter is difficult but the professor spends all of her time just making you confused about the material that you understood so well five minutes before the class started. It seems like her only purpose in life is to confuse you and make it hard for you to get good grades. This was the first class where the book made more sense than the professor!

I pride myself at being naturally adept at mathematics, but this class gave me only trouble. The material I had read in my book before each class which I had understood so fully was made completely confusing and convoluted each time this professor opens her mouth with her terrible lectures. She doesn't even understand her own subject material!!!

Avoid this teacher like the plague because she can't teach! She comes to classes unprepared EVERY DAY and seems baffled by the subject material. She's largely unavailable outside of class (office hours are 9PM) and seems far too busy to accomodate the students. You'll spend a lot of time learning the material on your own in tutorial centers.

Enrollment's gone from a full class to 12-14 students. She's nice, but she has bad offic times, she reads straight off her notes all the time, she'll put wrong info on the board, when you ask ?s she really isn't able to give good answers that'll make sense, and you have to read the textbook so you understand the math and so you can pass the class.

I think to this and any other Math class is going into it having already mastered one area and are ready to go on to something else. Math used to be my best, and favorite, subject but Jones has killed that. TONS of homework, half of it isn't even things we've learned yet. Her lectures are only 40-min long examples that are wrong part of the time (I've corrected her multiple times). She's a nice woman but not a good teacher at all. Do not reccommend taking her class at all.

Don't get me wrong, Sara is very nice, but she is constantly forgetting to hand out quizzes and consistently forgets to teach parts of the material. More often than not we had to do in class quizzes at home because you only end up getting about 15 minutes to do them, with her ramblings and lack of time management. If you like lots of notes be ready

The one thing that I would say sets Sara apart from the rest of the Math department is her genuine devotion to all of her students; even and especially those who are struggling. As with all teachers, her lectures aren't always perfect, but they are damn near close. She encourages a more wholistic view of Math. (Also she's a freaking genius)

She is kind person but a terrible instructor. I'd easily state that at least 95% of the students that are still in this class struggled to understand what Sara has been teaching us. She is extremely disorganized, confusing. I have put 85 hours into the tutorial center so far to learn outside of her class. Unless you know stats, don't take.

She cares deeply, is flexible, understanding. If you are falling behind or struggling, talk to her. Quizzes are 'group' tasks, and u can get help from her/Math Lab. Often allows Test Corrections, getting up to 1/2 of lost pts back. Practice Tests are 5 pts EC on tests. Her lectures contained small errors, but were clear in concept. Lotsa homework.

She's just lazy and boring. Her lectures make things seem a lot more difficult than they actually are. I can usually learn a class worth of information in a 20 minute youtube video so I wouldn't waste your time trying to decipher what she's trying to say.

She is a nice person, but I did not enjoy her teaching style. She is very unorganized, homework due dates were constantly being changed often times morning the hw was due. She is an OK teacher, not the worst or best. Very caring of her students. Grading is pretty easy as she gives 5 extra credit on all tests and final if you do the practice test.

She should not be teaching she's probably a good person outside of class. She expects you to know things and will get annoyed if you need a refresher. She has 3 big test and a comulative exam. She's unorganized. Overall I would not take this professor. I spent too much time to get the grade I got. This is for math 9

I knew all the concepts throughout the semester (for the most part), had trouble keeping up with the homework (literally 10-20 hours a week), and definitely understood the concepts because of that. I loved the material, and the lectures were fairly good (MUST SHOW UP). USE THE MATH LAB! FINAL IS CUMULATIVE, LONG & HARD. She is nice and caring.

Way to much homework, like 5 hours of homework a night, so many of my classmates dropped other classes to try to keep up with the course load. I haven't had a weekend since the start of the semester because she will assign up to 6 H.W for the weekend .Im so burnt out from this class it is making me hate math in general despite my prior love for it.

Omfg, due dates moved around too much, counted 182 emails for changed due dates, messed up so much in lecture, lecture is boring, homework is light, tests are fine. Doesn't really explain proofs but half of each test is normally proofs. Asking her a question is fine half the time. Grades light, generally an easy class if you can learn w/o lecture

Don't take this class unless you want 10-20 hours of math homework each week. On top of that, Sara often gets lost and gets a lot of her problems wrong! She is very nice, but the worst math class I have ever taken. Avoid this class at all costs.

Lots of homework, extremely unorganized, messes up simple arithmetic, doesn't seem like she is passionate about teaching. Sara is a nice person, but I would not recommend taking her class. Her lectures consists of reading out of the textbook and writing examples that take up half the class period, only to find out she made a mistake 15 steps ago.

Told me to cut back hours at work in order to make due for the ridiculous amount of hw she assigned. Lecture was agonizing she taught things once and didnt review. We took home quizzes on top of hw and she said "dont worry if its not done next class" but then yelled at 5 students the next day because their quizzes werent done. Do not take her class

She is disorganized, publically shames students, unintentionally condescending. Homework dates are incorrect in Canvas and Syllabus. Gives very little time to complete homework. Syllabus is outdated or incorrect. Lectures are lacking in things that are on the homework later. Very forgetful and confusing, her niceness doesn't make her not irritating

She assigns 2-4 homework per day of class, and more on the weekends. She yells at students and seems to find it funny or a good teaching strategy. Her mood swings make the class not want to speak up, but she gets upset if you don't. SO much homework and her lectures are disorganized and confusing. She forgets simple math and wastes time.

Do not take Jones ever. Her notes are accessible outside of class, but good luck trying to glean anything from them. She assigns homework from BOTH the textbook AND WebAssign, meaning you pay for WebAssign. Her tests are WAY too long; no one ever finishes. She does allow test corrections, though, which is the only reason I passed the class.

Lots. Of. Homework. An insane amount, especially if you have a busy life. However, Professor Jones is very kind and I liked her lectures. You can tell she actually cares about what she teaches. Her grading scale seems scary at first, but is really not bad, especially since she tries to work with you if you get a bad grade on a test do the work.
