Sara is a grad student, and she still has a lot to learn about teaching. She has potential, but her grading method is really unfair. No textbook, just a culmination of unrelated research papers that leave concepts vague and unconnected in the big picture. Lectures are off PowerPoints that rival novels in length.

Sara is great. While she may be learning how to teach, she has definitely made significant improvements even just over half of a semester. The research she uses as examples are show where the field is currently at, and you won't need to buy a book; win-win! Points are so easy to earn, and you can make up material if need be. Great class!

She is very helpful, informative, and dedicated to your success. Points are easy to earn but making up points can be a pain. So do your best to do everything thoroughly. Lectures consist of powerpoints with publications as examples, can be boring at times, but also very interesting. Tests are fair and you're allowed a front and back sheet!

She doesn't know how to layout tests or the classroom. There is an unclear class setting in terms of actually learning concepts and earning knowledge on the material. Although class is mandatory, I 've yet to feel as though I've gained any useful information that I can use outside the classroom. Learning how she communicates is essential to pass.

For the completely asynchronous class, Professor Knauz' 'lectures' are just videos of her reading the textbook, and at times I felt like we were learning the content at the same time, which was unsettling. I did not feel that the feedback given was ever helpful, and though she encourages you to ask for help, she hardly ever actually gives it.

In my time with Mrs. Knauz I learned a few things, however less were about psychology and more about how not to teach a class. Her method of lecturing was recording herself reading the book, which provided little to actually understand the material. She also felt way too overbearing and tried to micromanage, I am aware if an assignment is late.

Sara Knauz is such a sweet professor. I've never had a professor as nice and caring as she is. She's a rather lenient grader, allows you to submit late work, and resubmit things for a better grade. I could see this class being hard if you aren't interested or you can't understand the biology. If you've taken both intro bio and psych, it'll def be easy. For weekly work, you watch (long!) pre-recorded lectures, do a discussion, record you drawing a brain process, and do work towards the final project. Little points matter. Do REP for e.c.

One of the worst professors I have ever had, learned nothing from the class as we focused on issues outside of psychology more than the actual material that is supposed to be taught. Waits months to grade even the smallest assignments.

This class was a nightmare omg you could not pay me to take it with her again. This class was barely about sensation and perception and more about DAIE. It shouldn't even count for a psych credit because I didn't learn ANYTHING from her. Not to mention she didn't give any feedback the whole semester and good luck trying to reach out with questions.

Dr. Knauz is several months behind grading our big semester long project. So, we have all completed the project without feedback from her. The class is supposed to be about biopsychology but focuses more on diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion. Assignment instructions make no sense. Absolutely terrible; awful; horrid.

Lol the 5 star rating is clearly from her just trying to get her score up. I hope she reads these and realizes what a terrible professor she is. By far the worst class I've ever taken and the worst professor I've ever had, it's just busy work and useless assignments that we never got feedback on. Avoid at ALL COSTS.

homework is due today. semester long project is due today. final assignment includes fixing up your project to implement feedback from all other weekly milestones. not all milestones have been graded... all assignments are due today... let this be your warning to not take any classes with Knauz... did I mention that not everything has been graded?

Worst professor I have ever had, no doubt. The homework assignments are about the most random things ever and are worth ridiculous amounts of point (0.17??). Classes are mandatory but there is no instruction time, she either talks about stuff that no one cares about, or sits there on her laptop. Even if I got paid, I'd never take this course again.

Well! Sara may have cost me the deans list because I did not speak loudly enough during my presentation. Be prepared! You will be graded on things she does not warn you about in the rubric, or the canvas site because her instructions are vague but her expectations are specific! Seriously, do NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH SARA. You will regret it.

Dr. Knauz ruined this course! She was condescending, and took weeks to respond to emails if at all. Her Canvas was extremely confusing and she provided poor directions for assignments. She did not provide feedback on anything until the last day which meant no changes could have been made on the milestone project! Overall, an awful professor!

She's like crazy passive-aggressive, if you have sensory issues be prepared because she breathes into the mic. She made a girl cry in my class. She is fine. Just don't go against her beliefs if you sit in the back and stay quiet you will be fine. I noticed her way or the highway in the class.

After having taken two classes with Professor Knauz, I highly recommend for you stay away from classes she teaches. In her classes, you have to teach yourself. She is condescending and does not respond to feedback well. Her assignments are confusing and leave you feeling unsure of what you have done instead of confident in your learning and work.

Made the mistake of taking this teacher twice. The class is only discussion-based and haven't learned anything. She's incredibly condescending. Her homework assignments make no sense and she hasn't improved on them. The whole class is pointless. You do basic synthesizing of research articles and that's it. Stay away from this teacher if you can >:(

Is the rubric asking the same thing three times? Write the same thing three times just in case. Don't understand what she's asking? Ask her when you can to clarify any confusion. Once you figure out how to write one assignment well, you get the rest figured out. Reach out via email? Contact the TA. They grade your stuff and respond much faster

This class was genuinely awful, profs lectures felt extremely unstructured and it was really hard for me to pay attention in class . By the time of finals, 60% of the points in the class weren't graded because there was only one T.A for 40+ students. Prof would have mic too close to their mouth which meant you could hear every breath and lipsmack.

I did not like her lecture style at all, the two I went to were unorganized, pointless, and dragged on. They were mostly discussion based which doesn't make sense for a lecture hall of 100+ students. Her assignments somehow have the longest rubrics I've seen while simultaneously being the most confusing, and weren't graded in a timely manner.

instructions stated 1 thing & rubric(published after the due date) would state another (ex: APA citation can consist of just the url, rubric would state make a complete APA citation). Received a 3% of total grade deduction for this(twice). When brought up she refused to acknowledge discrepancy. Our final paper (worth 33% of grade) was never graded.

This professor did not teach a minute of our class and valued "respectful debate," but this meant we were not allowed to disagree. She assigned at 3+ scientific journal articles to read per week and obviously did not read them herself, spreading misinformation from an assumption based on the title. This course had no structure. Avoid this professor

I can not believe that this woman has not lost her job. She doesn't teach! And she didn't even grade our final project worth 33% of our final grade! I spent so much time on the final paper and then to have it not be graded at all was a slap in the face. And she never even posted or emailed the class about the fact that she didn't grade it.

Assignments were given long, confusing rubric directions and graded to a hundredth of a decimal. Lectures were repetitively unexciting and colorless from what felt like a yap session. I didn't feel as though she respected my personal views on psych topics that I developed from my previous courses and was treated with passive-aggressive responses.
