Her class was all lecture and was graded strictly on three tests and then the final exam. (I failed the first test so I dropped the class) The way she taught was just by reading off powerpoints and it was a very boring class and very hard to pay attention. She is generally a very sweet person and will answer all questions thoroughly
Her class is all lectures, but they are very easy to understand. She is very clear about what will be on the test, and she provides practice sets online to help practice. Her office hours are very helpful and very accessible. She helped make the class relatively easy.
Super cool, don't really have to go to class, but helps if you're struggling.
She was great. Economics is a really boring subject for me, so I didn't really enjoy it all that much. You only have 4 grades though, so each test matters a lot. I never used the textbook, and her lectures were just her reading off the slides so if you miss class it's not a big deal.
TAKE THIS CLASS- Sara is incredible and her lectures are easy to understand. Attendance is not mandatory and her grading scale is anything above an 85 is a A (75 is a B, etc). I went to her office hours a lot and she helped me so much and she bumped by 79 to an A because I went to her office hours. The tests were hard for me but she's so caring.
She's a great teacher and puts the power points online considering the class is based around them. Beware of graphs because every test is centered around them. The class is kind of dry, but that was to be expected
One of the best professors I've ever had. Class isn't mandatory, but if you go and listen to her lectures she gives really good explanation that helps make the material make sense. Definitely have to study and know the material well for the tests, but she will give you everything you need to do well. HIGHLY recommend taking her!
she's such an amazing teacher, i could not focus in class because she had to go slower to ensure everyone understood, so i went to her office hours almost every time. she is very caring and if you show that you care she will give you the best opportunity to succeed.
She is one of the best; so helpful and kind. She doesn't grade at all on attendance, but lectures are very helpful. I didn't do well on my first exam (D) and ended up with an A at the end of the semester after going to her review sessions. She really does care about her students and teaches the material well! Absolutely loved her class
She is far the best professor I had in Auburn! She clearly goes over what will be on and not on the test. If you just go to her lecture, She will tell you everything. Super funny and caring. If you don't show up, You will have to study every material. EVEN THE ONE'S NOT ON THE TEST! Just go to class and an Easy A+ 85 and above is an A no extra cr
Sara Seals is the best thing that has happened to Auburn since the 2013 Iron Bowl. Take this class!
She's so sweet and down to earth. I've never been a math person, and she gives great examples in her class and even give hints on what to pay attention for on the exam in thorough detail. The class is based on only 3 exams and your final; I bombed the first exam (D) but am most likely making an A this semester after studying harder. Take her!!
LOVE her! She is so sweet and goes over everything well. I hate ECON but she makes it easy to understand most of the time. Even though she doesn't take attendance, I'd still go because she works through problems in class that are very helpful. Only grades in the class are 3 tests and the final... all count the same amount.
We were only graded on our tests but she gives study guides and review sessions before the test that help a lot. Also, her lectures are very helpful and she goes into a lot of detail on the important parts of the lectures. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
Hot teacher, so i showed up to see, but so boring and not near as good as what i hear other professors are.
She is the absolute best. I probably showed up to class 5 times the entire semester. There are 3 exams and a final and she curved pretty much every single one. She also puts the power points online. Also, her grading scale is 85-100: A, 75-85: B, and so on. She is so sweet and actually cares about your grades. Definitely take her!!!
Sara is the perfect type of professor for a class in which the student can learn, have a good time, ask questions, and feel welcomed into economics. The downside or upside of the class, depending on your preference, comes from the fact that there were only four tests to make up your grade. So you can be lazy, but watch out when that test is close.
Sara realizes how hard this class can be so she tries to help you as much as she can. Her study sessions are great and really help a lot. The only thing that's annoying is she tends to dumb things down so much that it's like she's talking to a 1st grader and she tries to make things seem easier than they are which can hurt you in the tests.
Attendance is optional & the powerpoints are online, but GO to class. Makes the concepts understandable by relating them to everyday, relevant scenarios. I made an A on every test except for the one time I didn't work out the problem sets before(got a 52), so work them out! Going to class & making sure you actually understand the material Easy A
Super nice, very helpful in office hours. Hard tests, everything from lecture though. Didnt use the book at all, but dont miss class, its very easy to get behind
Sara is one of the best professors I've had. The material is extremely difficult but she goes over everything very in-depth and slow so most are able to understand the complex subjects. You do not need the textbook just go to class and pay attention to the examples and DO the practice problems. She also goes over exactly what to expect on each test
Shes really nice and explains thing very well. All the PowerPoints are online so you never have to go to class; however she does go over practice problems in class. Test are the only grades so if you fail them you fail the class.
Dr. Sara Seals is a great professor. She is easy to understand, explains things very well and works out problems that will be on the test in class. Her tests however are very difficult. I've been tutored and study her materials really hard, but have only come out with C's on her tests.
Only grades are the three exams and the final. Sweetest prof ever and goes out of her way to help students. Does an exam review before every test that are super helpful. 85+ is an A for her class. Would 100% recommend.
Show up to class, a lot of the stuff isn't common knowledge, but if you show up you'll be fine. Breaks down hard concepts and makes them easy to understand. Don't have to go to class but it's better if you do.
Barely showed up to class. Got nearly perfect scores on every test without even trying. She tells you exactly what to expect and how to do well in the class. If you can't get an A in this class, you're probably not bright at all.
Grade comes from 3 tests and the final. Even with her having a baby halfway through the semester she was by far one of the most accessible professors I've had at Auburn. Really dumbs material down - sometimes too much but go over the slides before the test and it's an easy A.
grade comes from three exams and a final makes class super fun and gives extra credit if you stay to do bonus problems you do not need the textbook if you go to class
Show up and do the practice problems, she tells you what is on the test to know what to prepare for. Practice problems can sometimes not be enough, but shes super accessible outside of class so go if you need any extra help and youll be fine
Honestly the best teacher I have had at Auburn. You can tell she tries her hardest to help you understand the material and make the class reasonable. Go to her study sessions before the test they helped alot.
HARD class, hard material. Great professor though who is understanding and willing to go to whatever lengths to help students. Offered a lot of extra credit this semester and let us drop our lowest exam score. GO TO CLASS even though it isn't mandatory, because you will FAIL.
Many extra credits. She lectures very good. However, the tests are kind of difficult. Attendance is not mandatory. Notes are on Canvas.
The final grade is based off of only tests. She did offer random extra credit to the people who went to classes, but overall all if you don't pay attention, do practice problems, study really hard, and ask her questions, you won't do well.
Really enjoyed having her for my Econ 2020 class. Was hard material but she was more than willing to help us in any way possible. Sweetest teacher and gave extra credit just for coming to class and often times let us out early. Definitely recommend. Making a good grade is easily obtainable if enough effort is put in
This was the easiest class i have ever taken at Auburn! I never showed up to class except on test days, read through her powerpoints online, did her practice problems, and still passed with an A. If you can take Sara Seals, do it because she is absolutely amazing!!
She is so kind and very caring. She is easily accessible if you have questions. She also goes over problem sets that are very similar to what will be on the tests. She gives extra credit if you go to class, so go to class. An 85+ is an A so her scale is really nice. Definitely take her if you can.
Her class is ALL lecture. The way she teaches is just by reading off powerpoint slides that she uploads on Canvas. She does not stand up the entire time. It is a VERY boring class. I came to class every day, took notes, and did practice problems and struggled to make above an 85 on her tests. Left the tests confident I made a 100 and got low scores
One of the best classes I've had so far in Auburn. Amazing lecturer, studied three hours before each exam, and had scored over 100 all her exams
Went to every class and couldn't make above an 80 on any of the tests. Studied for hours, did the extra problems, took good notes. Don't know how the other people on here got A's and found her to be a good professor. This was the classs that ruined my perfect GPA. I'd take someone else
She is very sweet but talks a whole lot about her life and family. She isn't a bad teacher but sometimes she gets carried away but her stories and then rushes through the powerpoint. GO to class and pay attention unless you have a natural talent of knowing Econ material otherwise it will be hard. No outside homework. Only grades given are 4 tests.
Absolutely wonderful! She takes hard material and teaches it in a way that everyone can understand. She breaks it down and makes it simple. If you can easily do the problem sets, then you should make an A on the test. One of the best professors I have had so far at AU. There is seriously nothing negative I could say about her teaching.
She is the absolute best, and is willing to do anything to ensure that you succeed. She offers plenty of extra credit, and even makes the final optional. However, make sure you ask her questions if your stuck, and study the PowerPoints and do the problem sets before the tests. If you don't, you will NOT do well.
She isn't the best explainer in my opinion. Lectures can be hard to follow. However, this class takes a lot of practice before one can really understand the material so lectures can just be confusing in general. Sara Seals cares a lot and does anything to help her students. She is very available.
All I can say Is that I knew nothing about business and she made this class so relatable and interesting. Her grading scale is a life saver (85-100 is an A) and she's so caring and nice to everyone! Love her so much, she's one of my favorite professors I've ever had.
She's one of the sweetest professor I've had at Auburn ! But this class makes you work hard for an A. Make sure you pay attention in class, review the problem sets before the test.
Dr. Seals is amazing, she's super nice you should take her if you can. Just pay attention in class because it will massively help you on tests if you just go to class and put in some effort.
Seals is such a nice lady but the class is so hard. Her tests are very difficult (she makes up her own real world scenarios for the problems, lots of graphs and tables, and pretty much no memorization/vocab).I put all my effort into this class and still ended up with a bad grade
Sara has tried her best to make this course easier for us to learn. I definitely will take her again if i were an economic student. Personally, I think this is a course relating to logic. If you have a good logic, it gonna be a easy course for you. Extra credits are always given before each exam. Study Guide is very important :)
This class was great. Seals is so easy to get in touch with, has test grades posted same day, and provides practice material/problems and detailed study guides. 4 tests, optional final. I got my textbook for $20 on amazon bc she lets everyone know that the earlier editions are still usable.
Dr. Seals is an amazing professor! She is so knowledgable and takes time to practice problems with you during class. She gives lots of extra credit; especially for coming to class. The tests can be challenging if you're not the best at math, but her grading scale is so that an 85 is an A.
Mrs. Seals is one of the best teachers ever. She is always presenting the material in multiple ways so that you can understand the topics compared to real life scenarios. She is always available for her office hours and offers tons of extra credit opportunities to help you boost your grade. Take her if you need to take microeconomics
Couldn't recommend her more.
Nicest and easiest teacher ever. Gives lots of points for extra credit. She tells you everything that are going to be on her tests. She gives problem sets (basically practice tests) that have problems almost identical to the tests. She also goes over them in class the two days before the final. Also she posts everything on canvas. Take her!!!
Dr. Seals is great at explaining the concepts during lecture, but if you are a fast learner her class will sometimes be boring. She offered a lot of extra credit, and is very available outside of class. She goes over many practice problems and hints at what will be on the exam. Pay attention in class and do the practice problems and you're set!
Mrs. Seals is such a nice lady. Her class is easy as well. I recommend finding a friend in the class because you do not have to go to learn the material but you'll want to know the days she is offering extra credit. Go for the review day before test when she outlines problem set and do ALL of them. Easy A and final is optional based on grade.
What an amazing professor. She is my favorite at Auburn by far! Her class is easy if you put in an effort to learn the material, and she also gives tons of extra credit. Her grading is based on 4 to 5 exams depending on if you decide to take the final. I studied the night before and made high A's on all the exams. Also, an 85+ in her class is an A!
The best econ professor for 2020. I took AP in high school and studied max 30 mins for the first two tests and got high As and did not study for the last two and still got high As. You just have to show up to class and she goes over the material in class so much that you won't need to study outside of class. Easiest A I've made at auburn so far.
She is honestly the nicest teacher I have ever had at Auburn. She goes out of her way to try to help each and every student. She encourages students to come to her office hours and makes problem sets for every test. She is always trying to find new ways to make her class as easy as possible.
Sweetest professor ever. She makes herself incredibly accessible and really wants every student to do well. Took AP Macro in high school and the concepts are so similar that I barely studied for the tests and made As on all of them. 85 is an A so just needed an 11 on the last test. Optional final. Take her for any econ class you can!!
She takes a lot of time on the lectures, makes them interesting and easy to follow. She puts out a ton of practice problems that are not homework so you can practice as much as you need. It is a difficult subject for me but she made it easy! She was sick for 2 weeks, gave 12 points of possible extra credit for an exam. Super accessible and friendly
This class is honestly similar to high school courses. If you spend a few hours before each test just reviewing the material and doing the problem sets, then you will make an A. It's 4 tests (+ and optional final) and 10% participation. Also, an 85-100 in the class is considered an A. Definitely recommend, you just have to moderately apply yourself
Sara Seals is a great professor. She makes sure to explain her content, and you can tell that she cares about her students. I ended up with a B in her class only because I made careless mistakes on tests. You can sleep through lectures and not study, and still pull off at least a B.
Extremely nice professor. She goes way out of her way to help you be successful (85 and above is an A in her class). The course itself is very boring, but if you come to class and listen to her lectures you will make an A. Tests are all 25 multiple-choice questions. The final is not mandatory.
10/10 best professor I've had at Auburn. Its a boring class but she tries to make it interesting by using personal stories, and makes the material easy to understand. Tests are super straight forward, and an 85-100 is an A. Would definitely recommend taking her class. Side note: she is a STUNNER!
Mrs. Seals is the best teacher I've had so far at Auburn. She really makes a point to get to know her students, and she teaches with personal examples to help students understand better. She's SO kind and flexible! Seriously take her if you can, you won't regret it
Mrs. Seals is sooooo nice. She knows that Economics is hard for most people and really tries to make it easy on you. In her class a B is an A, you get a notecard for all your tests and the final is optional. She's the best. Take her.
Mrs. Seals is literally the sweetest person on Earth and does nothing but care for her students. You can tell that she really wants you to succeed, not only in class, but in life. She is extremely accessible and will do whatever she can to try to help. If I could choose more tags, they would include extra credit and respected as well.
Mrs. Seals is one of the best professors I have had at Auburn! She is the kindest and easy to understand. She likes to incorporate current events into her practice questions like The Bachelor and sports! She gives lots of practice before tests and also gives TONS of TopHat extra credit. You do have to go to class to get participation points. 10/10!
Sara is the best teacher I've ever had at Auburn. She is so kind and makes sure everyone in her huge lectures understands what she's teaching, and if you still don't she's so accessible to teach you one-on-one. She gives so much extra credit and her final is optional, and it can't hurt your grade no matter what. She makes ECON easy!! Take her!!
Best professor I've ever had!! She is so nice and cares about her students. Gives lots of extra credit and test questions come straight from the problem sets she gives you. Take her if you can for sure!
the class is very doable, but is not as easy as reviews Have it Out To be. You do have To apply yoursElf and come to class for rAndom attendanCe, whicH can hElp youR grade. i often did not get the grade i wanted, but she did offer bonus. the final is optional and an A was an 84.5. i would recommend her, if you are willing to put in the effort.
Dr. Seals is a super sweet and caring person. She clearly wants everyone to succeed and gives ample opportunity to. Her grading scale helps as well because an 85 is an A. HOWEVER class is NOT an easy A. You will still have to work for it. Also, her lectures are quite boring. Go to class and study and you will be fine.
Absolutely amazing professor. She is kind and funny, and really doesn't make things hard on you. There's no homework, but you need to go to lectures for info. Optional final and a couple of multiple choice tests. One of my favorite professors and I cannot recommend her enough.
Sara, what a gal. She's amazing at presenting information in a way that is easy to grasp. She wants you to learn and wants to see you succeed for sure
The nicest, most considerate teacher I have had yet. Listens to her students, and adapts to what will benefit them the most. Every teacher should take notes from her on how to teach during a pandemic. Gives extra credit assignments with every test that is SUCH a boost. You would have to just not like yourself to miss out on having her as a teacher.
Very good Professor class basically comes down to test, as 4 of them makes 90% of your grade, so make sure you study and are well prepared and you will do fine. She cares about her students and wants you to do well. She offers many extra credit assignments for all the test that are huge help. Take this class if you are interested in Econ.
Dr. Seals is one of the best professors that I have had at Auburn. Even if you don't like Economics, you will enjoy this class. She makes it easier to understand and is always willing to help.
She's so sweet and understanding. She truly wants you to succeed and gives ample opportunities to get the grade you want. She considers an 85 to be an A and gives extra credit for each test. Unlimited attempts on quizzes because she lets you choose the amount of effort you put toward the class to determine your grade. Also she responds to all email
Sara Seals is my favorite professor from this semester. She goes nice and slow through her lectures because she wants you to understand them. She also gives a ton of study material that has helped me do well on her tests. The extra credit she gives is also super helpful. If you have to take macroeconomics, take it with Sara Seals.
She's a fantastic econ professor. I did 10x better in macro than micro, and I know it's all because of her teaching style. Absolutely take her 100% if you can. The only grades are TopHat attendance, Packback questions, and exams, but you can use a notecard on the exam!
If you take Macro, TAKE SARA SEALS! She is so caring, understanding, and super sweet. Her lectures are very engaging and interesting! She offers extra credit for every single test and the final is optional! There is also very minimal homework and you get a notecard for every test. Loved her class and wish I had her for Micro!
Absolutely adore Dr. Seals. She explains everything so well. She truly takes the time to make sure that all of her students really understand the material and she wants them to succeed. I took Micro with a different professor in the fall and Macro with Seals in the spring, and she is BY FAR the best econ professor. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN!
Sara is one of the best professors there is. She cares about her students and wants them to succeed. The final was optional, and we were allowed to have a notecard for the tests. She had extra credit assignments for each exam. TAKE SARA SEALS!
Delightful professor. Very helpful and gives simple lectures, but do pay attention to them. She replies to her emails very fast and will always be available if you need help.
I would definitely recommend taking her class! She gives students a notecard for formulas or notes on each test and gives optional practice questions that are very similar to the exam. She is very sweet and does everything in her power to help her students succeed. This class is an easy A if you watch the lectures and/or study for the tests.
You can tell she enjoys teaching which makes the subject more enjoyable. She lets you use a notecard full of notes on each test. Very helpful and willing to meet with you. She gives extra credit for each test and the final is optional and can replace your 1 lowest test grade. Very little homework. Only grades are tests, packback, and top hat.
Ms. Seals is a very nice & helpful when you ask questions. However, this class was one of the hardest things I have taken. The test were 80% of the grade. There wasn't much opportunity to make up for a bad test grade. Do all discussions and quizzes, they are the give me grades. The test are 25 multiple choice questions, similar to the quizzes.
I absolutely love Sara! She made econ understandable. I took microeconomics with another teacher and it was awful, so to say I was scared going into macro would be an understatement. Sara is so willing to work with students and gives plenty of opportunities to practice. There is no reason not to pass!
Sara Seals is the best professor at Auburn. Solid 10/10 . I had her for Micro and she made the class SO engaging and interesting. I've never enjoyed a teacher so much.
I do not recommend taking this class online. I am normally a good learner online, and have no issues, but this micro and macro are both hard to understand unless you put in the work. I think she would be great in person, but online it is a struggle. This class is really test heavy, so you cannot afford to not know the material or you will fail.
Sara is such an awesome person and really wants you to succeed. She goes through material rather fast though and once you're lost... you are lost. I failed 2 tests but Im still going to pass this course because she offers an optional final to replace the lowest grade and also an extra credit assignment for an extra 8 points on the next test.
I feel like I should've really liked her class but I just couldn't get on board with her. She thoroughly explains things to the point where it's too much sometimes and it just won't stick. She does give lots of outside material other than PowerPoints and answers emails quickly.
Sara Seals is the best professor!! She was so helpful and relatable. Made microeconomics super easy to understand and you can definitely get an A if you study and do her assignments. Not a lot of required homework. Tests were 25 questions online.
Best teacher I have had. The material can be difficult, but she uses good examples and explains everything very well.
There's only 4 exams and the final is optional and most of the material is lecture heavy and quizzes that can be taken multiple time.
Professor Seals is the best! shes very understanding about everything and is very easy to follow. She makes class enjoyable and if you are unable to go she has all of the material posted on canvas. Highly recommend her for Micro!!!
I showed up once this semester and managed to get a B
Economics isn't really my thing so the class was a little difficult for me. However, Professor Seals is a good teacher and she is pretty easy to follow in lectures. She gives quizzes and practice problems, so I managed to scrape by with an A-. Make sure to not procrastinate on studying and you should do fine.
This class is easy as long as you read the textbook and understand each topic. This class is also test heavy because each test is 20% of your overall grade. If you aren't willing to put in the work, expect a B or C.
I took Dr. Seals for micro online and I thought it wasn't too bad. She doesn't really teach you since she just posts modules with the information you need to know, but if you know the modules well, you will do fine on the tests. I met with her a few times for office hours and she was very helpful. Overall, I would recommend taking her if you can.
I LOVED this professor!!! Econ is obviously a hard class but she made it easy to understand and gave a lot of examples and real world scenarios. She is willing to meet outside of class if you don't understand a concept. Also, she offers extra credit opportunities. As long as you study for the tests and attend the lectures you will be fine!!
Sara seals is awesome she is so friendly and makes sure her students understand the information she posts all of her lectures on Panotpo and the material is explained very well the tests are a big portion of the grade but she gives you a study guide so they are not too difficult. Tests are also online using proctoru. Get her if you have the chance.
Sara Seals is a great professor online. The content is very clearly explained and assignments are straightforward. You get to take the quizzes as many times as you want. The tests, however, are much more difficult. I could understand the entire module and then get a 60 on the tests for some reason. Just study and it will be fine.
If you half ass the class, you'll get a B. Just make sure you turn in all the assignments on time. The most helpful part of the class are the videos she makes for each module.
Dr. Seals is literally so good at her job. Very detailed lectures, problem sets to go with the modules and detailed study guides to help out with exams. Exam grades matter, they're 80% of your overall grade. If you don't understand something, she'll clear it up for you quickly. Make sure you do the quizzes and pass the exams and you'll be golden.
Very sweet teacher. She genuinely cares about you and her grade. She posts video lectures that are thoroughly explained and you have about 1 module quiz a week, then an Exam after 3 modules. Very easy going teacher. Highly recommend.
Professor Seals is one of the nicest professors I have had. Super easy A if you go to her lectures and understand the notes. Easy B if you dont go to lecture and barely try. I would definitely take her class if you can.
Such a great prof. Econ in general is a hard subject but she genuinely made it easy and interesting. The entire class is lecture-based so attendance isn't required but I'd suggest going. You have 3 quizzes and a pack-back discussion for every unit and then a test so there isn't a lot of homework. Final was optional.
I took Professor Seals for macro and micro, both online. She is amazing at her job. She provides you with all material you need to be successful. One weekly quiz and an exam every 3 units. Her tests and quizzes are fair and it is easy to make a good grade if you do all of your work. I would highly recommend taking her classes!
easiest class of semester. weekly quizzes, 1 packback for every exam, 4 exams & optional final exam to replace your lowest exam grade. exams are easy if you just study the weekly quizzes.
Took this online and it is a very easy, straightforward class. Did about 30 minutes of reading on the module each week followed by a quiz you can take as many times as you need. She is very happy to meet during office hours. Do the practice problems before exams and you'll be fine. Final exam is optional and discussions are easy.
I took this course online so it was pretty challenging for me personally, but I think she was a great professor overall. Plenty of information on the slides and videos as well as curving all the exams. The tests were kinda hard but once again it was just a challenging class overall. I would definitely take her again, she's a good option!
Very young but extremely knowledgeable. Lectures explain the content very clearly and in an easy way to understand. She's very kind and cares about her students. Also has many easy quizzes that can cushion your grade.
Dr. Seals was very responsive to my many emails and was always polite in them. Her exams are hard and it's very easy to mess yourself up and it to be impossible for an A. My micro class was 10X easier than this course. If possible, take in person. 5 exams (lowest dropped), 12 module quizzes, 5 Packback discussions.
She is a kind and respectful professor who really wants to see her students succeed. She makes it very easy to learn and get the grade you want, as long as you put in the work.
Sara Seals is awesome! She was a great professor and I learned a lot in this class. The class is test heavy, but it is pretty easy to get an A or B if you understand the quizzes. The quizzes are open note and can be taken infinite times (do yourself a favor and make 100s on them). The tests are hard, but if you somewhat and you'll at least make a B
Sara Seals is a great option for those who want a flexible class. Everything is online & due at the end of the week. Each module has a quiz and there are 5 pack back (discussions) questions throughout the course. The tests are done on lockdown browser & are a bit difficult but passable. She drops the lowest exam score if you take the optional final
I personally am really bad at econ but she made it a lot easier. There are 4 total tests (not including the optional final) and the last two are the most difficult. She does round grades at the end and there are weekly quizzes.
I took this online and Professor Seals set this course up better than any other online course I've ever taken. The modules were thorough you don't even need the textbook. First test is hard but it gets better after that. I studied by reviewing the modules and quizzes and I got an A. Final is optional. Totally recommend.
Online asynchronous, requiring a lot of self-accountability. Weekly quizzes (10%) and biweekly Packback discussions (10%). Four Lockdown Browser exams (20% each) with only one notecard of notes, but posted study guides and gave small scales. Final is optional and replaces lowest exam. Honors contract project is time consuming: 8 research prompts.
I really enjoyed this class and she really made it clear what was needed. This was my first distance class at AU and I was nervous about not knowing what to do, but the class was easy to follow. A module was due every Sunday, except for exam weekends. The class is test heavy, so just memorize the quiz questions and you will be fine.
Dr. Seals was a great professor. She is extremely outgoing and caring about what she does and how she does it. Her tests were very heavy and sometimes hard, but once you get to know whats she's asking for on tests, you will do great. I set up zoom meetings with her multiple times and she was always very helpful. Highly Recommend!
Would def rec Dr Seals for Macro, this is a good class to take online! After each test (which are pretty difficult but not impossible), set up zoom office hours. She'll go through each question you missed and explain it, and sometimes gave extra points back if she could tell you knew what u were talking abt but made a small mistake. 10/10
She is seriously the best! If you have to take microeconomics, take her! She is great at explaining everything and her exams are super straight forward. She's also the sweetest and genuinely cares about her students!
My best professor yet at Auburn, she is super caring and wants her students to succeed. Class is not mandatory but highly recommend going as the lectures and examples given are very valuable and helpful. Exams were all online and quite challenging but if you study and go to office hours it is easy to succeed.
I really like her. The online class is pretty easy. You do have to study some for the exams because they are lockdown browser with a camera but other than that all my other grades on quizzes and extra credit were 100s.
Take her! Attendance is not mandatory but I would highly suggest going because she gives great examples and lectures. There are 4 chapters, consisting of 3 quizzes, 1 discussion post, and 1 test each. Quizzes are online and unlimited retakes. The material isn't easy, but it's super easy to get an A as long as you turn in everything. She's the best!
I took Econ 2020 through aub first (asynchronous) and the material was very user friendly and easy to learn. We were told to gain access to a textbook, but I did not use it once throughout the semester. The tests require lockdown browser and can be kinda difficult. She uses some of the questions from the quizzes on the test but study the modules.
Fantastic Job
Dr. Seals was a great online Macro professor. She made the course as easy as possible, with great explanation videos throughout each chapter. The tests are difficult if you don't study, but going through each module to prepare is the best way to do it. TAKE HER!!!
I took Prof. Seals' Macro class last semester and had to take her Micro class too. The modules are easy to understand and the exams were easy. It's easy to do well in the class, just do the module each week and prepare for the exams a days in advance. She is easy to reach over email, and overall very happy I took Micro and Macro from Seals.
Dr Seals was a great professor and is very helpful when you ask for it. I ended the course with a C but that more my fault than hers because I had difficulty grasping the concepts. I look forward to having her again next semester!
In all fairness, I took this class online as a Junior in High School, but Professor Seals was great, especially with her office hours. The class is test heavy and a lot of the content on the modules are the same as the content in the textbook, but the extra-credit opportunities are great. The class also gets harder at the end.
She's really sweet and sends out descriptive emails every week. Lots of assignments and graded percentages rank HEAVY on the exams, but generally an okay class. Respondus lockdown browser on every exam.
Great professor. Very helpful. Class is very straightforward and if you do not want to go to class it is very easy to learn content without going. Test make up for a lot of grade, but she does curve and offer a optional final to replace a bad test grade and one bonus opportunity at the end. If I studied more I would have gotten a A
She is SO kind and thoughtful! I struggle really bad with economics and she has encouraged me from day one. She's easy to access outside of class and responds really fast. I would recommend her to anyone!! Such a sweet soul.
Great easy going professor. Does offer incentives. Exams are a little harder than quizzes, but take your time, you're given plenty and you'll be fine. She is very sweet and teaches Econ very basically for all learners. Can take quizzes until you get 100, exams given once, but optional exam given to drop lowest grade.
Took Macroeconomics online. Easy class for the most part, tests were a little difficult but she gives you a study guide which helps a lot and balances out tests with discussions and quizzes (unlimited time and attempts). Optional final and you don't need the textbook.
I took this class in person and really enjoyed Dr. Seal's lectures. She is very helpful and teaches in a way that everyone can understand. Definitely use the practice problems to study as tests are harder than the quizzes. Also really recommend going to office hours because she is very caring and always willing to answer questions and go over tests
Dr Seals is worth taking. Her lectures were helpful and she cares about her students. Her quizzes were unlimited attempts and the final is optional with it replacing your lowest test grade. She also provides extra credit so it is not hard to make a good grade in her class. Her tests can be hard but she offers a good amount of resources to prepare.
Five exams (including the final) and keep four highest scores. My rating is more a reflection of the difficulty of the online class. Each exam is 25 questions and PROCTORED. Which would have been nice to know beforehand. So don't think you can get away with anything. Just a lot of info to memorize and only 25 Q's means you can't afford to miss many
I took her for micro and had a great experience, this macro course wasn't bad but I do think the material was harder. Her class is very organized and every assignment is easy 100 other than the tests that can be a little difficult. Id suggest doing office hours or emailing her if youre confused on anything because shes quick to reply and helpful
Wasn't a crazy hard course. Chapter quizzes had unlimited attempts, there were 4 exams with an optional final, and 5 discussion/response posts. Dr. Seals was always answered emails quickly. She made the material easy to learn. I am taking macro econ with her in the fall. She's a ton of fun.
Great professor overall! Lots of reading the textbook as well as modules. You are able to take quizzes until you get a 100%, which is super nice, and exams are not that hard. Exams are proctored, but content is not that hard and being able to use a notecard full of graphs and formulas was super helpful. 4 Exams and final is optional.
Really easy class, especially if you've taken micro before. All of the material for the first exam is just review of micro. Tests are taken outside of class using a lockdown browser, but they're pretty easy. The quizzes assigned for each chapter really help with the exams. No homework besides the quizzes and Packback discussion posts which are easy
Loved her online class format. The notes were straightforward, not a lot of reading, and she provided several resources to help us succeed. The exams weren't too crazy. The workload was very light and consistent week to week.
Mrs. Seals was one of the best professors I have had at Auburn. She was quick to help me and was willing to talk about everything that I need help with. She is very kind and understanding. If you take any kind of economic class i definitely recommend her!
This professor was fantastic. The class is easy as long as you attend lectures, and she's very supportive during office hours. It's not difficult if you put in some effort, and she truly cares about her students.
Prof. Seals simplified the concepts and made them very easy to understand. There are three quizzes to each exam, which are almost identical in concepts. Attendance is not mandatory but she often expands upon concepts which you wouldn't see if you simply go over the slides on canvas. The class is not hard as long as you put a bit of effort in.
Professor Seals makes the material engaging and accessible. While the exams can be challenging, her resources like unlimited quiz attempts and an optional final help support student success. Unstuck study was a valuable supplement for test prep.
She is one of the nicest teachers I have had at Auburn. She cares about her students and wants everyone in her class to succeed. She is easily accessible outside of class and her lectures are not mandatory but very helpful. Her tests are not too difficult and she provides study guides for each.
Sara Seals economics class is pretty easy. Have a few quizzes every couple weeks but not a ton of homework. She sends out emails every week that make it very clear what you need to do every week to succeed in the class.
Amazing professor! Lectures are in depth and clear. Don't worry, if you miss some classes there's plenty of material she provides in canvas so you can teach yourself anything you might've missed. Quizzes are unlimited attempts. She's a strict, but fair grader. She's energetic and cares about all of her students. I will absolutely take her again.
She was the best! Super helpful, engaging, and answers emails quick. The tests are majority of your final grade which can make keeping an A difficult especially because the tests are only 25 questions so you can't afford to miss much. However, as long as you try you will be okay! Definitely recommend!
she is an excellent teacher that genuinely wants you to succeed. She will help you if you need help
Seals is an awesome professor. Her lectures are easy to understand and give good examples. The tests are not too hard as long as you sit down and take the time to understand the material. She genuinely cares about all of her students and wants you to succeed. This class is easy if you make it easy. Go to class and study, and you should get an A.
Sara is so nice and thorough with her lectures. She posts lots of helpful information on Canvas to study with (sample questions, videos, lecture slides). The quizzes are unlimited attempts and are similar to the test. I took her for Micro and the material was somewhat difficult but she is helpful, if you ask her to explain more in depth she will!
I really enjoyed this class - it convinced me to switch my major to economics and business. Professor Seals has amazing lectures that are engaging and provide great examples. She is available outside of class and even provided us with her online lecture content to practice concepts more. Grades are test heavy but extra credit is available.
Easy exams and lowest one gets replaced by optional final. Minimal homework (like 30 minutes of work every 3 weeks minimal). Great teacher and great person but also don't really even need to attend lectures to get a 100 (slideshow covers everything). Exams are proctored and online, 20ish mc questions. HW is 3 quizzes and 1 discussion due per exam.
I had Dr Seals for both micro and macro. She loves economics and makes it easy to enjoy lectures. As long as you show up and pay attention, you'll have everything you need for the tests. Test make up the bulk of the grade (4 tests with an optional final). You do get one notecard that you can put ANYTHING on for the tests. Overall easy class.
Tests are always 20 times harder than the quizzes for some reason (even thought the study guide will say otherwise) and the other assignments don't help your grade at all.
She's a really great professor - had her for both micro and macro and made everything easy and understandable.
Agree with everyone else on the exams, homework isn't busy work, looks like the exam questions. I've had a bunch of tech problems with the exams this semester and she's super easy to work with. Definitely review the slides if you don't go to class, but class makes it easier to understand, especially for exams 3&4 since the material isn't as easy.
For an online class, Dr. Seals was very thorough. The lectures were very well put together. Test are proctored online but still pretty easy. She gives you unlimited chances for quizzes so you always get a 100. I definitely recommend.
I love Mrs. Seals, and I have taken both Micro and Macro with her. I recommend in-person classes over online (online can get a little confusing bc you're basically self-teaching). She is a great teacher and loves to talk to us after class. Always loves questions, and overall just an amazing professor. I'd take her again in a heartbeat if I could.
Her teaching style is ok. I'm not the strongest in economics, I would do days of review and still make avg. test grades. Her tests are tuff. I taught myself everything and went to class all of the time. Idk take her for an easy pass. Her other assignments are so easy and she offers extra credit at the end. Final is optional.
Super easy class. I stopped going to class towards the end because there's no point in going if you just read the slides and take notes on your own. She is very nice. The tests have a lot of the quiz and study guide questions on them. The quizzes have unlimited retakes. I highly recommend taking micro with her.
One of the best professors you'll ever have
Online class with great content. I found the tests to be harder than expected (quiz question were significantly easier), but still not terrible. Some extra credit available near the end of the semester
Macro online with Professor Seals was a breeze. There's one very short module a week with quizzes that you can attempt infinitely. The exams are lockdown browser with camera but you get a cheat sheet & they are extremely easy. She is also very accommodating & will you get back to you if you email. I highly recommend.
Loved her! My favorite teacher at Auburn. Defiantly take her
Her tests were the main grade an insanely hard, she was very nice and wanted to help you but I had two tutors and struggled.
She's such an awesome professor. Genuinely wants her students to succeed in her class. I will say, this course is very lecture and test heavy, but she does a great job of making herself available for any questions outside of class. She offers extra credit sometimes. Overall, you will do well if you apply yourself in this class.
Take this class in person, tests are insanely hard, especially compared to how easy the quizzes are, making it hard to study for, also the answer choices on the tests all make sense. I bombed the third test and dropped the class.
Dr. Seals is my favorite professor I've ever had. She was a big part of me switching my major to econ. She cares so much about her students, she wants everyone to succeed, and she's genuinely just the nicest and most caring person! I now tutor for her 2030 class, she is truly amazing, I would highly highly recommend taking her if you can!
Hard class but good teacher. Gives extra credit and final is optional.
Dr. Seals is awesome! Took her online, she was really helpful through emails and curves tests if averages are low. There is a textbook but opt out as her modules are very thorough. Tests are lockdown browser and camera enabled but her study guides have EXACTLY what you need to do well. Spent less than an hour a week on her class and easy A.
Awesome professor. Would 100% take her again she keeps you engaged during class but it's not required you don't even have to go to understand the material. She cares about you if you pass and responds to emails quickly. Take Seals if possible.
Mrs. Seals is very organized and clearly wants her students to succeed. Her lectures are easy to follow and understand (she uses TopHat), which helps especially as you get to more complicated concepts in Micro. There's four online exams, an optional final, and three quizzes per module that are open-note.
The online class was really easy and accessible! Each week you read through a module and take a quiz (unlimited attempts), and there's a few Packbacks as well. The exams are proctored, but multiple choice with 75 minutes. If you just read the modules and study the quizzes you'll be fine. WAY easier than taking it in person! Dr. Seals is sweet too!
great class and i learned so much. easily accessible online class with helpful lecture slides- I would have opted out of textbook if I had known this. one module and quiz (with unlimited attempts) every week and then one test after three modules- on proctorU but not live proctor. optional final if you do not need it and adds bonus points to tests.
Sara Seals is so sweet and caring. I really enjoyed her lectures and the class format. The only thing I'd say is that her exams are SIGNIFICANTLY harder than the quizzes and tophat questions she goes over with us for practice. You will have to put in work to apply what you've learned in lecture to more advanced concepts on the exams.
She's a great instructor. She's easy to reach if you need help. You have a textbook but I didn't use it and I was fine. She has videos teaching the material in the module you are learning that explain the material very well. Theres 4 exams worth 80% of your grade and an optional final.
She is amazing! She makes Econ much easier to learn. She simplifies things to an easier level, and if you still do not understand, she will take the time to help you after class and in office hours. Tests are online and proctored but are exactly like the quizzes which are open notes. She provides good study guides and practice questions.
Seals was a great online class professor. She gave us more than enough practice problems and learning material. The class was only hard for me because I procrastinate and don't like the subject, so just don't procrastinate and you'll be good! Her quizzes are unlimited attempts, and exams are proctored, so you will have to put in work to succeed.
GENUINELY AMAZING PROF, I got a B bc I missed stupid homework assignments but she's genuinely so nice, clearly loves what she's teaching, and will work with you to help you. Very knowledgeable, very kind, explains concepts in clear and relevant ways, if you study the slides and the quizzes you'll be fine on the tests.
She's awesome!!!! Took her for micro and am planning on taking her again for macro. 4 exams with an optional final at the end. I highly recommend taking her for any econ class!!!
Not super hard of a class, she is super kind and her lectures, while not mandatory, perfectly set you up for each exam.
