She speaks very clearly and is easily understood. She goes with the class and doesn't assign anything to overwhelm you. She does a good job in teaching what is needed.

Sara is a good teacher for spanish, speaks real good spanish, and she is from peru. Nothing but pure spanish spoken in the class. Test are hard, but the homework is pretty easy.

She was an amazing teacher. I went into the class not knowing a ton of spanish and she helped alot. Her class is very entertaining, she is very funny... and she always has examples that really make you have to think.

Wow, a tough class. Don't think that just becuase you served a spanish speaking mission that it'll be easy. You definetly have to work your butt off to get a good grade. I learned a ton and would recommend her to anyone serious about perfecting your mission spanish.

Sara was my best teacher last semester. She helped me make my spanish more than just missionary spanish. Her class was rigorus, but well worth it. If you are willing to do the work you will be well rewarded. She is very open and easy to talk to. She will help you when you need it. I recommend her for anyone wishing pursue a spanish career.

Very difficult class- I learned Spanish growing up at home, but I definitely got schooled in her class. She is a stickler when it comes to proper Spanish- no spanglish in her classroom! Great teacher, nice and helpful. Lots of work and extra extra studying required.

This is a great professor. I learned so much. I transfered schools and I was able to test out of two gramar classes. Ulloa's class taught me so much that I strongly recommend it to anyone who is serious about learning Spanish. Awesome!

Great Teacher. I learned a lot, but no Munchas, the class was hard. There is a lot of work, but I wouldn't recommend taking this class with 12 other credits like I did. It was a challenge.

Although she makes you work hard, she's a great lady and is a lot of fun. She is difficult because not only will she teach you to perfect your grammer in spanish, but she also covers spanish literature and poetry. If you talk to her one on one she is happy to help, however just because she likes you she won't go easy on you either. I like her.

As long as you do your homework this class is easy. Sara is very helpful and is honestly concerned about her students. Class is a ton of fun and she doesn't introduce new material until you understand what was already presented. Awesome teacher!

Terrific teacher. She gives a lot of busy work but it turns out to be very helpful. She's really helpful if you have a question and won't move on until she's sure that you understand. One of the best teachers I have ever had.

She is VERY intense. Homework EVERY day and she demands perfection. But In return ahe is a great teacher who clearly likes what she does and wants to help you to master the material. I highly recomend her.

Wow, I'm not going to lie, this class was intense but the professor is undoubtedly UVSC's most educated and prepared Spanich teacher. She is very kind and helpful and her classes are incredibly fun. If you're lazy, you should avoid her class.

She is hard! It's super important to study for the test. They are hard also. If you study for the test and pay attention in the class you'll pass. I just got home from my mission and only got a B in the class. I thought that it would be an easy A.

I thought that my mission in Ecuador taught me all I needed to know about the Spanish language, but learned in Ulloa's class that what I knew was only surface. Those of you who arrogantly think you know Spanish better prepare. This class in NOT an easy A but it was WELL worth it! I found this professor to be nothing short of increible! Viva Peru!

she is really nice and willing to help. I learned to use correct grammar from her, and I grow up speaking spanish. You have to do your homework and conjugate verbs a lot. if you do that it should be an easy B+ or A. Test are a little hard.I got an A.

Prof Ulloa is extremely clear and thorough at her teaching of Spanish. She always gives the impression that teaching is a pleasure, and explains in detail without frustration! She rocks!

Excellent professor. She knows every little detail about spanish it seems. Extremely difficult...ridiculusly hard actually, but I learned alot. She is hilarious, I really enjoyed class. But it was not an easy A. I worked my butt off. I had more homework in this class than in all of my other classes put together. Excellent professor though.

Sara is a great teacher. We laughed a lot in her class and even though it was tough, I enjoyed attending every day. Attendance is very important and its also important to keep up with the assignments. The class is all about grammar. Study, do the homework, and attend class and you will get a good grade.

Sara is my favorite teacher this semester and will probably be remembered as one of the best. Super funny and it's always fun to go to class. There is a lot of homework and she makes you work for your grade. If you are a returned missionary and you think you know Spanish, you don't. Take this class and you will.

Sara is a great instructor. She does different activities, like cultural power point presentation, service project,book homework, online homework.the only thing i didn't like about her class was the return missionaries who thought knew more than her. take it from her and you will learn the correct way of using Spanish, and don't try to correct her!

Honestly Sara was the best teacher I have had at UVU. She is able to explain those little rules that you were never sure about in a very simple way. I would definitely recommend her! Not a super easy A but she will do everything she can to help you get one, just pay attention and do the work and you will get an A.

Sara is an amazing teacher. She is really tough and will drill those verb conjugations into your brain, but she is worth it. If you really want to learn, take her. many people may complain of her being to hard, but its the hard ones that make you LEARN. I only got a C- because of my own stupidness in not going to her when I knew she would help.

She tried to explain every question that students made but sometime she would too caught up in the subject and never move on. The book is MANDATORY!!

I LOVED this class.. It's definitely a LOT of grammar so if you don't like to conjugate verbs and memorize them this is not the class for you. She gives a lot of homework but it's usually short and easy. Fast paced. Book work. A few 250 word compositions. Exams. That is all. She is extremely helpful and willing to answer any quesions. TAKE IT!! :)

She will make you work. If you have studied Spanish, she will clean what Spanish you already have and make it perfect. Be prepared to work, and if you do what she requires, you're Spanish will improve a lot. She helped me a TON! I think She is a great teacher!

In an Advanced Spanish Writing class she was forced to waste time reviewing old grammar material from 3050 because students didn't learn it yet. She's a great teacher, and provides a lot of ways to get a good grade. Just KNOW your grammar beforehand or she will be frustrated teaching old material, that's where she might embarrass you with sarcasm.

Great class, learned more about the language then I had in 3030 and 3040. Come to class prepared by doing the homework and ready to discuss what was assigned. Amazing class discussions all the time!!

Amazing class!!! Learned so much about the language!!! Come to class well prepared, class discussions happen every time you meet. By far one of the best professors in the Spanish Dept. and she's pretty easy on the eyes!!!

If you are looking for an easy filler class to take just to get a few extra credits DON'T take this class. Now if you are looking to actually learn something new everyday, to be prepared to debate on current issues in Spain and debate on how past issues were handled this is a great class for you. Sara is a great teacher. He is clear, concise, and obviously enjoys teaching. She gives you feedback in a very timely manner, almost always by the next class period. She is the epitome of what a teacher should be in a language class. Is she a hard teacher? I don't think so. But she does expect assignments be completed when due. PERIOD!

Sara is very timely in her feed back. Visit her in her office hours and she will help you in anyway possible. Overall she is a great teacher but she does have a tendency to embarrass people in front of the class. I think she does this kind of jokingly but at the same time if you don't know her then it can be easily taken as a personal attack

Sara is a good teacher. She can be kind of harsh sometimes, but in a joking manner. She expects you to study and read the book.

I took five Spanish classes from Ulloa, and learned more from her than any other professor. The classes can be tough, but not unnecessarily so- she'll push you to learn without overwhelming you. Her classes improved my Spanish exponentially. Plus, she happily took the time to write me a grad school recommendation letter. Great professor.

Reason why some might be offensive is because her mannerisms reflect her cultural background. Don't feel insulted she's just blunt. Her civ class is directly from the book, keep up with the readings, do the homework and you'll understand the class discussions and pass this class with an A. (It was too easy that I flunked, whoops)

Sara Ulloa was a really great teacher! I know some don't like her style but I really liked that she would try and get you to speak and allow you too so you could improve your spanish. She wants her students to improve and succeed. She is fun and makes her classes really enjoyable I liked the challenge of improvement. But you should take her class!

Sara has been one of my all time favorite professors. No one helps you understand the language quite like she does. Yes, she makes you work and that's why you'll be grateful for her down the road. Pay attention, try to perfect the language, and communicate with her if you have a problem.

She goes over what you need to practice and isn't one of those professors who gets mad when you don't do well on exams, instead she goes over it and practices it. She also provides practices and does it with you. You have plenty of chances to participate.

Profesora Ulloa is amazing. I loved her. Although a very tough grader on her exams, she makes it very clear what she expects from each of her students. She is very willing to talk about your tests and how you can do better. She loves students that go up to her and want to become better spanish speakers. I would definitely take from her again.

She's a fun teacher! Her lectures keep you entertained as she constantly does group activities and discussions. Book assignments are due every week but they aren't bad. Tests are tough but she's very generous when it comes to grading. She favors some students over others, specially if they're native Spanish speakers but overall, I liked the class

She's awful in every way, I truly recommend no one ever take a course from her again. She shouldn't be someone to teach an online course. She makes you feel dumb, even when you're a native speaker. Spare yourself the disappointment. :)

Sara is the absolute best professor that I have had at UVU. Her 4050 class is challenging but if you passed 3050 you will be fine as long as you are practicing and learning the language. Homework is due every day - generally one or two activities from your book - and she gives you the key. She also gives a lot of extra points on the tests. funny.

She definitely knows what she's talking about. She's also very friendly and approachable and is willing to work with you if you need it and as long as you're trying hard overall. The class is fairly work-heavy, though, and you have to make sure you stay on top of the writing assignments.

I liked Prof. Ulloa. She made class interesting and we were often laughing. I remember that we had a HUGE test in the middle of the semester that was pretty hard, but she gave us a chance to look up answers. It's hard to pay attention and learn during the lectures if you are more hands on, like me. Read EVERY instruction :D She is kind and funny

Overall was a very easy class and I really liked her. There are a lot of homework assignments but if you are on top of it and generally try I felt like she gave you credit. No problems here and would definitely recommend taking the class online if you have the option.
